Ice cream and gelato

Food Scene

Sophisticated real gelato in a strip mall by a Rite Aid. The LA Times said: "In Bulgarini’s world, “artisanal” is not a buzzword but an operating philosophy. In the past decade, he’s built a reputation on obsessively crafted gelato made using the best ingredients he can get his hands on — Bronte pistachios from Sicily, macadamia nuts from Hawaii, Vestri chocolate from Florence."

Flavors inspired by places around the world: olive oil with chocolate-dipped baguette (Catalonia), pretzel and rye crumbs (Iceland), and their signature purple flavor, Thai iced tea, and Ube malted crunch (Philippines).

The oldest ice cream shop in Los Angeles County! A bit of a drive, but a fun, old fashioned store, with more traditional flavors than you'll find at the other spots on this list.

Our nephew loves this place; perhaps we're too old to enjoy the candy-like concoctions. The closest location is only a mile or so away, in a repurposed gas station. It's a fun experience at least.
