Neighborhoods

North-central Harlem (this area is also known as Sugar Hill and it’s right on the border with Hamilton Heights) is an exciting multicultural area. If you go West up the hill toward the Hudson river, you’ll find lots of Latin American restaurants and cafes. If you go south toward 125th St (just one subway stop on the A or the D lines) you will be in the center of Harlem’s historic area where you’ll find the Apollo theater and other mainstays of African American cultural life, as well as lots of shopping. 42nd St/Times Square is just three stops away on the A train a block from our apartment. We also suggest you take some time to explore this area, such as the places below:
