Take a tour off Highway 99 and visit Fresno's best kept secret. *A hand-built network of underground rooms, courtyards and passageways reminiscent of the ancient catacombs. *Unique fruit producing trees, shrubs, and vines growing underground - some over 90 years old! *Ancient Roman architecture - arches, vaults and stone-built walls. *Underground micro-climates - temperature variations of 10 to 30 degrees! *Underground home of Sicilian visionary and self-taught artist/builder Baldassare Forestiere.

I know. Area surrounding is not the best but the park is such a gem. Very clean and friendly helpful staff. Could sit for hours and watch the elephants. We all loved feeding the giraffes. Snacks are not cheap however pretzel and cheese dip was a hit. And after a lot more walking had lunch outside of the "safari". Must must must have the garlic fries. I kid you not. Looking forward to the Christmas lights.

This is one of our favorite places to visit during the hot Fresno summers. There are numerous attractions- tall and twisty waterslides for the high thrill seekers and the wave pool and the lazy river for the more mild-mannered. This is a fun place to spend from just a few hours to all day experience.

Neighborhoods

Fresno, California, is the state’s fifth largest city and is located right in the center of the fertile and sunny San Joaquin Valley. Moving to Fresno lands you nicely in the middle of quite a few of California’s natural attractions like Yosemite National Park, Sequoia National Park, and Kings Canyon National Park.
The exuberant Tower District is the art, dining, and entertainment district of Fresno. Majority of the businesses are locally owned and operated presenting a mixture of amenities that are out of the ordinary. Tower District is an exciting place for tourists or a night of celebration.

The reputation of the ever expanding, and historical Downtown Fresno is an industrial metropolis that holds character and opportunity. 12,000 square foot Mariposa Square, located in the heart of downtown allows a space for cultural events, relaxation, and a welcoming to celebrations.

Located on the North West side of Fresno, the quaint area of Fig Garden is home of luxury and attracts many residents of Fresno. Old Fig Village houses many residents and amenities located nearby. Whole Foods, Lululemon, Banana Republic, Eddie Bauer, and Anthropologie are retail masterpieces that were placed in the area. Locally owned and operated restaurants like Patio Cafe, a mixture of French and American cuisine and Jack’s Urban Eats, a destination for rich soups, customizable salads, dinner plates, and creamy mac and cheese are in the heart of Fig Garden.
