The walk to Clovelly Beach from my home is less than an hour but what a gorgeous walk. You'll first walk down to Coogee then head north along a well maintained coastal walk past Gordon's Bay, a renowned diving spot. Grab a coffee at Clovelly, have a swim or just lay around in the sun then head back. If you'd like to go a little further cross the beach to the next headland and have a beer at the famous Clovelly Bowling Club. Fabulous views.

A great coastal walk is to the Ivor Rowe rock pool. You won't see this on any tourist maps. You cross a wooden walk way through wet lands with gorgeous rock formations and listen for the birds. Can you believe this walk should take you less than 1.5 hours there and back to my home, depending if you stop at Barzura for a meal or a drink along the way. Turn right at the end of my street walking towards the beach. At the end of the street veer right (south) and off you go. Enjoy. You will pass the Ladie's Baths, Wylie's Baths, a dog park then enter the wet lands path. Keep going to the end, its worth it. Great ocean views of Wedding Cake Island and dolphins and whales if you're lucky.

Food scene

The Spot is a local favourite. The historic Ritz Cinema has great films and events. The restaurants are all good and reasonably priced. You can choose to dine on Thai, Japanese, Spanish, French, Italian, Vietnamese, Aussie and European fare. There's even great patisseries - The Sweet Spot which is a feast for the eyes and Kurtosh for Eastern European delicacies.

Getting around

Loads of buses available

Parking in my street is not a problem, usually. But if you want to move like a local, you can catch a bus. Please take a look at this link to decide whether you need an opal card or your credit card to travel https://transportnsw.info/tickets-opal/opal/best-ways-for-visitors-to-pay Buses can take you into the City, Circular Quay for ferries, Central Station for trips to the Blue Mountains, Bondi Junction for Bondi Beach, Watson's Bay etc. You can even go to Newtown for its vibrant foodie scene on the 370 just a few minutes walk from home.
