Great for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. Everything is cooked by scratch. Recommend go early or else expect a wait. You can "get in line" on Yelp (used to be the Nowait app).

A great place for a decent burger that is so close to home. Other items on the menu: hot dogs, Philly cheese steak sandwich, wings, and salads for the health-conscious.

This is my favorite BBQ place. You stand in line to order. The must-have every time I go is the creamed corn! The brisket comes in "lean" and "moist". I also order the sausage (ask for it sliced up). They give you waxed paper as your "plate", and they have the BBQ sauce on the table. If you're going to Sea World, there is a Rudy's near there, too.

This is a place you must visit. There is live music (folks go to two-step), food, and good ole Texas atmosphere. Check the calendar to see what days they're open and who the live performance is.

My favorite ramen place. The upside is the menu and food. The downside is the wait and the cramped seating. The best tactic for this restaurant is to go there right when it opens.

You come to San Antonio, and I'm recommending dim sum? If you're here over the weekend and like dim sum, this is the place to go. Even during the week, you can order some dim sum from the menu.

Drinks & Nightlife

The most beers on tap. This is our favorite watering hole. Good bar food. They always have a "fire sale" beer for $3.50 a pint.
