Jimmy's is a great, little shawarma / donair shop that serves huge, filling portions. They also have lots of sides, like dolmatas, tabouleh, samosas, and baklava. There are some tables upstairs to eat in, and tables outside to eat at when it's warm out.

Great city park with paved trails, gorgeous, mature trees, a duck pond, a great, new playground for kids, and picturesque bridges over little bubbling creeks.

One of the largest urban parks in North America, this is a vast, largely untouched piece of land. It features rolling hills, beautiful grasslands with wildflowers, and incredible views of the city.

My favourite natural park to explore in Calgary. It's got lots of little trails that go on the ridges and valleys of this riverside area. There is also a beautiful, little waterfall, lots of wildflowers, and several great viewpoints that are breathtaking.

Sightseeing

I used to work here and it's still one of my favourite places to spend a day off. It has historic buildings from around southern alberta that were either relocated to or replicated for the historical village. It is coined a "living history museum" due to the employees dressing in traditional attire and greeting you in each building. A great spot to check out if you want to see "how the west was once."
