Edinburgh is often called 'The Rome of the North' partly for its architecture but mainly as it shares the 7 hills topology. This is the best place to see it all at once (unless the big wheel is up!)

I think you get the best view of Edinburgh from the top of Carlton Hill. Its only a short stroll and like most hills in Edinburgh looks harder to climb than it is and just as rewarding a view as hoped

Food Scene

The Tron Square is the at the heart of the Royal Mile and right in the middle of the festival action right at the door of the apartment. There is an artisan market and coffee shop inside the church :)

This is a fantastic restaurant for the seafood lover. From the moment you enter the restaurant you feel special with extremely attentive staff. The food is glorious especially if you like seafood!

Obviously steak and shellfish is the specialty, done perfectly here :) Clean, well lit interior. Cheese board is okay, surf and turf is fantastic, another great seafood restaurant!!!

My favourite! The food is fantastic but its really the atmosphere and decor that makes this place special! Make reservations. I recommend the steaks, venison and lobster. Perfect for a romantic meal.

EXCELLENT food. The service unbelievable. This is well worth it's Michelin star. The broccoli and the salmon to start, most definitely. Cocktails are outstanding. I had the tasting menu. OMG.
