Parks & Nature

Closest place I know to experience a SoCal Beach in an almost wild setting. Great waves too and good beach bike path . Bike path is very walk-able and OK with ocean beach scenery but better scenery south of Bolsa beach, past the bolsa inlet and just before Huntington beach pier

Shopping

Can't think of any specific shops but all along Atlantic Ave in Bixby Knolls are shops, bookshops, eateries, bars, souvenir shops, ect. Very walk-able part of Long Beach from 4000-4400 Altantic . Not the only walk-able district in LB but the one closest to my home. Best Walk-able district in city is 2nd St in Belmont shores/Naples/Alamito Bay Marina district in far southeast corner LB

Sightseeing

Shoreline Village has eateries, bars, restaurants, souvenir shops overlooking the Dwtn Marina and the LB Dtwn skyscrapers. You can walk the jetty and get views of queen mary and the port. Also a departure point for harbor cruises/tour boats. Aquarium of Pacific close by. LB has a Harbor Walk going from Shoreline Village walking west to a nice ocean front park which ends at the lighthouse.

Entertainment & Activities

I would do LA downtown/ Chinatown/Little Toyko, LA museums. Grand park in LA nice park to eat/relax/take a lunch break . Grand Avenue is best street to see good sights like Disney Concert Hall. Best to park car in secure lot and use cheap dash shuttle buses to get around LA Downtown. Also check out LA County Museums in Exposition Park as part of LA Dwtn Tour. They are close by. Suggestions for touring LA.
