Parks & Nature

Just at the top of our street are miles of hiking trails with great views of surrounding hills and the Bay. It's hilly, but some of us are out of shape, and do just fine. Not many people up there. Take a picnic in a backpack, and pick the table with your favorite view.

We go here for easy walking in a giant grove of Eucalyptus trees. It's shady, sunny, and smells divine. You can also find rugged trails above the grove.

We go to Point Pinole all the time! With miles and miles of hiking trails both along the bay, and through the trees, we take the bikes and roll! They offer a shuttle that takes you out to the fishing pier, and brings you back. The last one runs at 2:30 p.m., usually. We like to take the shuttle out, and pick a trail to walk back to the playground with lushshss views of the surrounding Bay. I think the car fee is $3.00/day. Good, cheeep, clean fun.

The East Bay Regional Parks system is one of the best in the land. Tilden park is huge, has lots of different activities for kids, hikers, and everyone. It's a hidden Bay Area gem, right under our noses!
