There are lots of surf shops and bars in Bude. It's the hotspot for local night life. There are sandy beaches which are also good for surfing and swimming.

Great cream teas! You can walk down to Spekes Mill beach from the Cottage and come back via Docton Mill for a cream tea! There's a wonderful garden open to to public.

Getting Around

There are trains from Exeter to Barnstaple, but the bus ride from Barnstaple to Hartland takes about 60 - 90 mins. You then have a 30 mins walk, but we are usually happy to collect you from Hartland. Taxis from the station cost about £40. There are now Mega buses to Barnstaple and National Express to Bideford. There are car hire centres in both Barnstaple and Bideford (about 15 mins on the bus from Barnstaple).
