This is the place if you like to do bird watching. A successful attempt to preserve a beautiful riparian corridor in SE Arizona. A trip to the grasslands around there is worth the 45 minute drive.

A drive up Mount Lemmon will offer stunning vistas and a complete overview of the area. It is where we go to escape the heat and if there is snow, there is a lodge up there too in the winter months. It is quite a drive, not for squeamish passengers.

This cave adventure requires reservations, but I think it is worth it. It was discovered by a couple of hikers who kept it a secret for about 20 years. It is quite amazing.

This is a bit of a drive, but it takes you away from Tucson to a little known area of Arizona that is grass lands and draws over 200 species of birds who feed on the seed during migration. It is a tiny little lake that does not allow large motor boats, so if you have a kayak on you, this is the place to go for some quiet time.
