Sightseeing

While you are staying at The Bear Lodge, I recommend going sightseeing on the top of Spruce Knob. It has the most breathe taking view at sunrise or sunset. It is very easy and accessible for tourist to get to. There is plenty of trails to hike. There is also a lake not too far from this beautiful view. Trout fishing is available at the lake, and in surrounding creeks. The lake also includes a small boat ramp, parking area and vault toilets. No swimming is allowed.

While you are staying at The Bear Lodge, I recommend hiking this beautiful trail at Seneca Rocks. This trail is about 3.4 miles. It is a long hike up but the view when you get to the observation platform is worth it. Although this trail is fairly steep, the trail can be enjoyed by all ages. Please do not venture beyond the observation platform. When you go on this beautiful trail you will come to a bridge, and you will walk across the Potomac River. Trout fishing is allowed but it is Catch and Release.
