Haven't been there - but apparently its great, and Ilfracombe's first and only Michelin star restaurant - advance booking essential! Has now moved down Fore Street to a new property called 1873 and offers a 6 course tasting menu at £95...

City/town information

Old seaside town - shabby in parts but with some lovely Victorian architecture, nice walks and shale beaches. Visit the harbour, Damian Hirst's Verity, the (tiny but endearing) Aquarium and walk up the Capstone. Take a fishing trip from the harbour or catch the ferry to Lundy Island. Find some nice galleries, and craft shops in Fore Street and down by the Harbour and all your necessary food shopping in the High street (great homemade pies and pastys from Mike Turton's butchers and homemade chocolate from the Ilfracombe Chocolate Emporium)
