Sightseeing

In high season there is a car park chargeable on entry sometimes a maned barrier. Charge £4. Walk along to the Ynys Llanddwyn island which is usually accessible except at very high tides. Or, park on the main road further along the coast and walk down to the beach that way along the estuary (no charges) 9 miles round trip if you walk back through the forest.

Great town to potter around. The castle is surprising big inside with lots of historic bits to read. The scenic trains run from here- Ffestiniog and Welsh highland railway, a good day out.

An easy walk round the lake, not so easy if you go up the Devils kitchen- proper walking attire essential. Other walks from here too.

It's on your doorstep. With your back to the sea as you exit front door turn left and follow coastal path. Lots of bird hides to sit and watch over the Straights. Walk past the Brittania bridge, through the botanical gardens and over the Menai bridge to Menai bridge. Lots of hostelries once you get there but its a good yomp. About 14km round trip.
