Smaller than nearby Kensington Gardens or Hyde Park but also lovely. Used to be the grounds of Lord Holland's London home but was donated to the borough when he died. Has some open areas, playing fields and tennis courts as well as wooded paths to wander along. Look out for the peacocks that wander free in the grounds.

Lined with all kinds of shops, boutiques, cafes and pubs, Kings Rd is a well known place to shop for well-heeled locals. Great for celebrity spotting - a while back I saw Kate Middleton doing some shoe shopping, Terence Stamp buying groceries and Hugh Grant grabbing a coffee in Starbucks. Best to start from the Sloane Square end (you can take the tube to Sloane Square) and wander down the street.
