The best time to call for a same-day appointment is upon opening at 8:30am, as this is when any cancelled spots are made available. They are good at fitting in urgent cases. Saturday morning is a drop-in clinic with no appointments, but upfront fees apply on Saturdays.

Sightseeing

Beautiful spot to view the coastline, you can see all the way to Byron Bay Lighthouse, watch the surfers at the famous Lennox surft break "The Point". Car parking is provided at the lookout, but highly recommended is to park at the "Boat Channel", off Rutherford Street, and enjoy the walk up. The wide cement pathways is good for bikes or kids scooters (but includes a hill).

Parks & Nature

Quaint little beach strewn with pebbles in place of sand, fun for rock-hopping, or stroll up the adjacent headlands for views. Not a good swimming beach.

Lake Ainsworth is a stunning fresh water lake just metres from the beach. The water is stained tea coloured by the Ti-trees around its edges. There are several sandy foreshores, great for swimming, kayaking, stand-up paddle boards etc. Lots of shade and grassy banks. Across the road is the Surf Club, which serves good value simple cafe style food and drinks for breakfast and lunch.
