Food Scene

The Plimoth is a cute, quaint, less discovered neighborhood restaurant that has great farm to table food and awesome drinks. It's one of our favorites for date night! Go check it out.

This is Erin's absolute favorite restaurant and brewery in town. If you're looking for something more causal and laid back, just like the city of Denver, go to this hipster joint. My typical order is the Junk Burger with fries and their Number One beer.

The food is amazing and the atmosphere is electric. They also serve our favorite salad in the city...The Massive Attack Salad.

Blue Moon just built a micro brew and restaurant joint in RiNo. I was skeptical at first, but they have some great craft beers, pretty good food, and a modern yet laid back ambiance. Sit out on the patio next to one of the fire pits!

Black Shirt is the closest brewery to our house. You could easily walk there (0.7 miles, 15 minute walk). It's a small, family run brewery that has some great beers. The joint also has a lot of character. We recommend grabbing a drink there before or after your trip on the light rail (if that's how you're getting to and from the airport).

Boulder is a quick 30-45 minute drive from our house (depending on traffic). Chautauqua includes the flat irons along the front range. The hiking is moderate, and if you make it to the top of a flat iron, you get 360 degree views of the Rocky Mountains, as well as the city.

Mount Evans is one of the closest and most accessible 14ers (mountains over 14,000 feet; Colorado has 58 of them!). You can hike it, but you can also drive to the top! The views are stunning, and on most days, you'll run into some mountain goats. Be sure to dress appropriately! It's usually pretty windy, and it's much colder than in the city. If you're visiting in the winter, the road will be closed due to snow.

Three Sisters has some great hikes along the front range, and it's near the town of Evergreen (a quintessential CO mountain town, it's approximately a 35 minute drive from Denver). You could do some light hiking and then hit up one of the restaurants in town.

Essentials

There are a number of King Soopers in the area, all about a 15 minute drive from our house depending on traffic. This one is the closest in mileage, but it takes you into downtown Denver, so we recommend avoiding it during high traffic.

Sightseeing

If you get some time, go mosey around our newly renovated Union Station. There are a lot of outstanding restaurants (Mercantile, Stoic & Genuine, Snooze, etc.), as well as some cute shops. Go into Denver's iconic used bookstore-The Tattered Cover. You can also get a drink at the Terminal Bar.
