Lovely, single room within my friendly 3-bedroom house in Witley, Surrey. Milford station 15/20 min walk, easy travel links into London. Bus 5 minutes. Parking. A good size room, with a quality single bed. WIFI and use of kitchen, garden, lounge. I have a very small Yorkie.
Single private good size room with single bed in good countryside location. The room is clean, quite and comfortably furnished with a reading light, wardrobe, desk, shelves, mirror, blackout blinds, heating, double glazing. I live in a close rather than on a main street, so it is quiet and peaceful.
Witley village is a great and lovely countryside location ideal for long walks and running, with Witley Common, and other country walks within short walking distance. The local pubs are a short walk away and offer excellent food and the locals are very friendly. A newsagent and other general shopping facilities nearby. This is a peaceful environment, which offers good access to Milford or Witley Stations, which provide direct services to Guildford (10 mins) & London Waterloo in under an hour.
  • I was lucky to stay with Francesca's again whilst in the area, even her doggy remembered me. Will be working from home now, but will obviously seek her out for my future visits to the area. Highly recommended, Regards Carmen

  • A quiet and peaceful location with a good sized bedroom and everything you need.

    Lucinda2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect a tidy and very clean room that has all the amenities a traveller would need to spend a couple of nights in a rural surrounding. Francesca is a great host, reliable and discreet.

  • Easy going kind hospitality, can highly recommend.

  • Yet another good stay with Francesca, but as she gets good reviews, someone else booked and I missed out, hope to be back soon. Thanks Carmen

  • Back again, says it all, Francesca tried to get me to eat all her Christmas treats, Chocs, Biscuits, I resisted, but couldn't resist her homemade Ratatouille. Thanks Carmen

    Carmen2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Francesca's has earned the title of a super host because she is, even gave me a homemade Roast Beef Dinner, so a super cook as well. Lovely family home with a lovely family, thanks Carmen

  • Francesca is a lovely lady, and her doggy is also very lovely. The house and room very clean and comfortable, Quiet and very convenient, only 3ish miles to Godalming. Slept well, which is a bonus when working long days and staying away. Francesca provided extras which was not expected, would recommend but not just now as I want to stay again. Thanks Carmen

Small single bedroom, raised bed (see pics) with shared bathroom opposite and shower-room/loo downstairs. Good wifi. Help yourself to tea/coffee anytime, and cereal/toast etc in the morning. The cat will probably force her way into your room, I'm afraid. Plenty of on-road parking. 1 mile to station, village shops 1/2 mile but you'll find a car easier as Godalming is better for eating out. Ideally suited to people travelling for work, although we are in a great area for walking and sightseeing.
As the room is a bit small, it's probably not great for using as a holiday space - though that's up to you. We are in a great tourist area, but close to London, Guildford and M3 corridor. We both work from home so there's usually someone about. We're close to Fitzpatrick Referrrals (1.5 miles), easy access to Guildford/Portsmouth (A3 and rail) Breakfast is DIY - cereal, yogourt, fruit, toast (I'll show you where everything is). If you are staying for a week or more, you are welcome to use the kitchen for prepping an evening meal (no hot food upstairs) but let me know when, and whether you need space in our rather small fridge. Please note that you are sharing our living space, and it is a medium/small family house, so I may have a few questions for you when you book. If you have any questions, please do contact us prior to using the instant book facility. There is plenty of on-street parking. If you are an intern student at Fitzpatricks, and staying for longer than a week, please contact me for a discount before you book. Also talk to them about lift-sharing with staff/other interns, as it's a long walk (and not great in the winter) and they're not on a bus route. Similarly if you are a 'pet-parent' needing to stay over, let me know (sorry we can't accommodate any pets).
We're in a quiet cul-de-sac in a rural location - the footpath to the common is opposite. Great for walking. Transport links are good - we're on the Waterloo/Portsmouth Harbour line, so plenty of trains. Very close to the A3. However, bus services are pretty bad here.
  • Very nice place and even nicer people with great hospitality. Thanks again for having me.

This garden room has been converted from a shed in our garden. It is quiet and secluded, by a soothing stream with a lovely outlook into the garden, with space for a bed settee and a table. The garden itself provides more space in good weather. An easy walk to the main house gives access to the kitchen, cloakroom and dining room (with a TV) . The garden room does have its own TV and WiFi. A shower is available by arrangement with the hosts. Parking is possible by the room.
  • Just returned from a lovely stay with Pete and Kate in the garden room. It was me and my two young boys age 3 and 5. We are between homes so needed somewhere to stay. We stayed there 4 nights and it was a lovely warm cosy room with heating, electricity and tv plus facilities to make coffee. Pete and Kate were so welcoming and we were able to use the bathroom and shower in doors. Boys also has a great time making a den the garden!

  • Pete & Kate were truly wonderful, it was like staying with family. Super helpful and flexible and a beautiful house. The garden house I stayed at was very private and super cozy, slept really well. Would definitely come again! ❤❤

A comfortable double bedroom with the use of the kitchen and other downstairs rooms. The shared bathroom is normally only used by you. Less than a mile from Haslemere station, the house has easy access to the town and the many attractions of the South Downs national park. The room has a TV, facilities to make tea or coffee if you don't want to pop to the kitchen, and great views over our back garden with a brook running down the side. A simple "serve yourself" breakfast is included.
The bedrooms and bathroom are upstairs. Guests may use the kitchen and living room downstairs for preparing and consuming drinks and meals, and relaxing in. Feel free to explore the garden and enjoy the garden room too.
Haslemere is a beautiful town with plenty of amenities and interest. The leisure centre (including a swimming pool) is a short walk from Brookside, and the town centre a little way beyond. There are nearby walks to the National Trust beauty spots of Marley Common and Black Down (with its wonderful views over the Surrey and Sussex countryside), and easy access to the Devil’s Punchbowl.
  • I had a great experience staying with Pete and Kate. They made it an easy experience and I received a warm welcome. I would stay again if needed in the future.

    Ellie2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • I received a warm welcome from Pete and Kate who managed just the right balance of being both attentive and laid back hosts! The room and facilities were just what I needed whilst attending a 3 day intensive event nearby. I will definitely return if the opportunity arises :)

  • Pete and Kate are very welcoming, friendly and accomodating. I really enjoy staying with them.

    Sonya2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • The room and house that the room is in, is absolutely wonderful! Pete and Kate are excellent hosts, very considerate and accommodating. Very knowledgeable, Pete and Kate always had insights for every need - where to go for a night out, good places to hike, etc. The room itself is wonderful and homey, with all things necessary to meet simple pleasure in life, e.g. an electric kettle for coffee/tea in bed. The proximity to great hikes and beautiful walks is an added bonus, as there are a surprising amount of redwoods in the area! For nature enthusiasts/ecologists/artists looking for inspiration, this is a great spot to see many ecological wonders and the joy of nature! Many amenities are in easy walking distance - not more than a 20 minute walk to the local Tesco, a wonderful cafe (the Lion's Den), and a few pubs. If you're looking for a rustic stay, some peace and quite from the bustle of the city, or in town for a wedding, this is the perfect spot to stay!

    James2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Pete and Kate were the perfect hosts. A real home from home and they even provided cereals and toast for breakfast. Much appreciated. I wouldn't hesitate to come back again.

  • We’ve enjoyed our 1-night stay at Pete and Kate’s place. Everyhting from check in to check out was smoothless and it’s a grate value for money. They both are very kind and ready to help with you needs ie early check in / late check out etc.

    Mehmet2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect a warm welcome at Brookside. It's a comfortable bedroom at the back of the house away from the road so is nice and quiet. The room looks out onto a lovely garden with brook..hence Brookside! I didn't stay for breakfast, though it was offered, as I'd been invited out. Pete kindly took me to the venue. A big thanks.

    Fran2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Pete and Kate's place for a weekend while attending a course. They were very warm and welcoming hosts, Pete even collected me from the train station the night I arrived! The room is exactly as pictured, bed was very comfortable and there were tea/coffee facilities and a TV in my bedroom and I was able to use the kitchen to make dinner every night. Lovely stay and would not hesitate to recommend. Thank you

It was also a short journey to other quant towns to visit and we pub hopped around for the weekend. Mark and his wife were lovely and even offered us a ride into town. We had such a wonderful restful weekend away.

The barn itself was very well equipped and Mark had thought of everything! Lots of little touches such as breakfast in the fridge and many different books to look through. We found that we didn’t need a car as there are shops and pubs in walking distance and beautiful green spaces to go for long walks. We will definitely stay there again if we are in the area in the future. Thank you Mark!

Our Shepherd's hut is set amongst 30 acres of unspoilt mixed woodland and paddocks, just on the edge of the South Downs national park and yet also moments away from Haslemere's lovely shops, restaurants and cafes. The hut is fully insulated and has central heating so is suitable for year round use. You will have privacy and your own space, and although our family home is on the same site, it is nearly 200 metres away . We are on site and will be at hand if you need anything.
Our brand new shepherds hut has recently been built to a high specification. It is a good sized hut with a kingsized bed, kitchenette and en-suite bathroom with a good sized shower. It is well insulated, with central heating, and is fully serviced so will be comfortable year round. The hut is situated out of sight of our main residence in a secluded position. Due to the bad winter weather the parking is available on the large tarmac area by our garaging & stabling, but from spring and summer it will have its own private space very close by. We have 30 acres of fields and woodland and guests are welcome to explore and we have some amazing walks nearby as are within easy reach of Black Down, Devils Punchbowl (Hindhead) We have lots of animals and you are welcome to collect fresh eggs from the chickens in the morning. Just ask and we will direct you.
The great thing about our location is that you can have the best of both worlds- peace & quiet surrounded by woodland, yet shops and restaurants are only a 10 minute walk away (3 min drive if you're feeling really lazy)
  • Wonderful and relaxing stay. Highly recommend, the hut is absolutely lovely.

  • Wow, can't think of anything that would improve this Shepherds Hut! It had everything I could possibly need. Would definitely book again if in the area.

    Tony2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • I would totally recommend this. My husband and I had a much needed night away to relax and top up on parenting tokens. This was a lovely peaceful location with stunning walks just a stones throw away. You will not be disappointed.

  • Vicky's shepherd's hut is an absolute joy. It is equipped beautifully with everything you need - all designed so cleverly that is feels genuinely spacious inside. It might look like a shepherd's hut from the outside, but step through the door and it's a real little home from home! The location is truly private and the woodland birdsong blissful. Tip : for any vegan guests "Hemingway's" on the High Street is a revelation, the choice is phenomenal

Little Cowdray Glamping shepherd's hut is a self contained mini home, with a comfy double bed, cooker, microwave, bathroom with shower, log burner, and central heating. It has been tastefully decorated and has all the necessary accessories and utensils you will need for your stay. The hut has it's own private area, private hot tub, and includes parking and outdoor seating, and there is a BBQ should you wish to dine outside or star gaze For a small additional cost of £15 we welcome well behaved dogs, but they must remain on a lead at all times around the farm, this is not only due to our livestock, but because of large machinery operating in and around the farm, and we'd like your four legged friends to stay safe. We usually just allow one but in certain circumstances this maybe flexible, please contact us to ask. No pets are to be left alone in the hut. Little Cowdray Glamping is located in the beautiful leafy village of Thursley, surrounded by miles of stunning scenery, walks, and local wildlife, it’s absolutely perfect for exploring the outdoors. Our farm backs on to the Devils Punchbowl, known for its scenic walks, wild ponies and the odd Highland cow, great if your partial to a bit of mountain biking too, though if you prefer your wheels mud free then why not explore the sweeping surrey hills doing some road cycling instead. Little Cowdray Farm is a working farm run by the family, we have cattle, mainly Herefords and Angus but we also have a small herd of Dexter’s (pint sized cattle), then there’s our resident pet pigs, Lilly-a Potbelly, Maisy, Molly and Mouse who are Kune Kune’s and love a good back scratch or belly rub. We have a small flock of sheep, free range hens and our handsome cockerell Rory!  Why not try some of our freshly laid free range eggs for breakfast?...
  • Beautiful shepherds hut and hot tub, in a very peaceful location. Lovely to sit in the hot tub and watch the pigs, chickens and goats.

    Katie2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful place! Absolutely lovely to wake up & see the pig, chickens & goats outside your front door with a beautiful back drop! We went on loads of lovely walks around the devils punch bowl & our tour around the farm with Lucy absolutely made our visit! Super cosy sitting in the hot tub of an evening with a log fire afterwards. The perfect stay thank you so much!

    Olivia2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Meeting Teresa, Emily and the family as well as the animals made this trip super special. Especially meeting the new born calf and giving him a cuddle. We had a wonderfully relaxing time and enjoyed hiding inside the hut, cosy and warm, while it was stormy outside. We will definitely be back.

    Sarah2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The Sheppard hut is very clean with nice views from the door and the surrounding country side is a short walk away the hottub is the perfect place to watch the farm and day go by with views of the valley below.

    Chris2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Our second stay with Teresa, had a great time again. The hut and hot tub are great and located a short walk from a nearby pub for dinner.

  • My partner and I have just returned from a beautiful weekend. We could not have asked for a better weekend. The Shepherds Hut was beautiful and exceeded our expectations. The attention to detail was fabulous. We walked for miles through the Surrey country side and ate some wonderful food. We really miss the log burner. Thank you!

    Zoey2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful stay at the Shepards Hut. Teresa couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The hut itself was clean and had everything you could need. The log burner is a great touch! Waking up to the farm animals on your doorstep is a lovely start to the day, as is a dip in the hot tub! Cant wait to come back!

    Hannah2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is without a doubt one of the best Airbnb's me and my partner have ever stayed in. The Shepherd's hut is the perfect getaway for two. The place is gorgeous, clean and tidy. The wood fire and hot tub are wonderful. Teresa and her family are the perfect hosts and we visit again in a heartbeat!

Our house is a spacious and relaxing space, pleasantly located on the outskirts of a small English village in Surrey, UK. Many wonderful walks, cycle rides and country pubs can be accessed from the house. It is a great location to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. If required, I will provide a light breakfast – choice of cereal, fresh fruit, natural yogurt, croissants (if available), bread and preserves and a hot drink. Please specify if you have any food allergies.
Our house is situated in Elstead village, and benefits from a lovely location between the village recreation ground and fields, woodland. The house, built in 1927, has been totally renovated, maintaining its arts and crafts style, whilst adding modern bathrooms and a pleasant open plan kitchen with an aga, granite topped island, large kitchen table and plenty of space to relax. We have Wi Fi. The south facing guest room has a double bed, small cupboard, desk space and overlooks the garden and fields/woodland beyond. The modern well-equipped bathroom is a couple of steps along a corridor. It has a spacious shower cubicle with a choice of two showerheads, a large bath, WC and sink with a large mirror/medicine cabinet with light and shaver point. The south facing garden overlooks our field with its ancient oak and two wildlife ponds. There is also a stream running around the field perimeter, and the area is teeming with wildlife. Frequent visitors include deer, foxes, squirrels, and a host of birdlife such as herons, pheasants and numerous smaller bird species. We enjoy hosting people in our home, and can help guests discover the local area. We are keen runners, hikers and cyclists (when family commitments allow!), and can advise on local routes for cyclists and hikers with maps and guidebooks. We've lived in the village for over 20 years so can give you lots of great tips on exploring both the village and other sights in the surrounding areas.
The house is on the southern outskirts of Elstead, an attractive village in the heart of the Surrey Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The area is ideal for walking, cycling and enjoying some of southern England's most attractive countryside. Many wonderful walks and cycle rides can be directly accessed from the house without needing to drive. Local beauty spots include The Moat, (half a mile away), Frensham ponds (6 miles away), and the Devil’s Punchbowl at Hindhead (7 miles away). The village is quiet and peaceful, with a beautiful historic church. It has a well-stocked Spar mini-supermarket opening onto the village green. It has a free ATM. We are well served with drinking and eating establishments within walking distance from the house. There are three great pubs which all serve food - the Woolpack, a traditional pub run with British and Italian food, The Mill, with a wonderful garden and the original ancient waterwheel and British food, and the Golden Fleece, which servesThai food. There is a friendly bar in the attractive British Legion and an excellent take away fish and chip shop. We have two cafes - 147 (Wednesday to Monday) and the Little Barn Cafe (Tuesday to Saturday. Other shops include a Hairdressers, Beauticians and Pharmacy. The nearby historic small towns of Godalming and Farnham have many restaurants, shops and amenities, and the historic market town of Guildford is just ten miles away. The Royal Horticultural Society Garden at Wisley, as well as Hampton Court, are within easy driving distance. There are several golf clubs nearby. Whether you’re coming for a short break from London or from further afield and wanting to discover the English countryside and its pubs, explore the surrounding historic villages, cycle, walk or just want to just relax in the peace and quiet, Elstead is the perfect spot.

Welcome to our romantic cute cabin. Perfect for a quiet getaway in a beautiful semi-rural location close to A3 and award winning Grayshott village with restaurants, cafes, pub and pottery nearby. Walk straight from the doorstep into the Surrey Hills and down to the South Downs National Park. Available room only mid-week or with breakfast at weekends (extra charge of £10 pp). For larger groups the Little Barn can be booked in conjunction with our Boutique larger oak barn (also listed).
This cosy and compact oak barn was inspired by our stay in a rough sewn timber ski lodge. We aim to give our guests a warm welcome and 'away from it all' experience in our stunning semi-rural location. The style is boutique with a seriously comfortable king-sized bed and en-suite facilities including shower; full tea and coffee making facilities and Satellite flat screen TV. Tucked away with its own front door the little barn is on the edge of our garden and driveway.
There are many places to go and see in the area and we are nestled in the Surrey Hills and on the edge of the South Downs National Park. We can arrange horse riding from our lane, cycles can be hired locally. You can walk directly from your front door onto Waggoners Wells National Trust or to The Devils Punch Bowl National Trust and cafe. Cowdray polo at Midhurst and Goodwood are both equally accessible. Haslemere train station is a few miles (10 mins by taxi) and is a main line with London Waterloo 50 mins and Portsmouth 20 mins in the opposite direction.

  • A genuine beautiful stay. This was truly a rare find and an ideal getaway for time out and to reflect or just have some quiet time with you and a loved one. I stayed alone and could not fault this cabin one bit. It was clean, warm, stylish and ready-made environment to just relax and unwind. The room looks exactly as displayed in the phots. There are so many intricate details of the interior you would be amazed can fit in such a small space. Even the shower was luxurious. I will definitetly be back out here again. Amazing and helpful host, I could go on but really this is a charm and a rare find in my books. I loved it and wish them more success in sharing this beautiful space!

The kitchen area has a fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave, small induction hob and a Nespresso machine (and a few capsules to keep you going!) as well as all crockery and cutlery needed for simple meals. Breakfast isn’t included as we’d have to interrupt you to bring it over. A small (but steep) flight of stairs takes you to the galleried bedroom with a double bed and premium bed linen. There is parking directly outside the property and we ask that you park directly in front of the garage to allow other vehicles on and off the driveway.
Just step out of the door and you can explore the area through a maze of public footpaths. Also great for keen mountain bikers! Horse riding, clay shooting and course fishing are available in the area. A walk across Bramshott Common takes you to a wonderful pub with great food! But if its wet you will need wellies!!! Walk, cycle or drive to National Trusts Blackdown, Swan Barn Farm, Hindhead Common, or the Devils Punch Bowl. Spend the day visiting the market towns Haslemere and Midhurst. Stroll through the historic Cowdray Ruins and maybe take in a polo match. Head to Cowdray farm shop and café to stock up on or sample locally sourced produce. Or sample wine, beers & spirits at Lurgashall Winery & Blackdown Distillery. If you'd like to relax for the afternoon book into the Amarna Spa, which is a 10 minute drive away, or Champneys which is 10 minutes in the other direction. There is much to enjoy in the surrounding area too, including Petworth, an important centre for antiques and a bustle of boutique shops and cafés. Within the Petworth area is the famous National Trust Petworth House. Other nearby sights are Uppark, Arundel Castle, Nelson's ‘Victory' in Portsmouth Historic Dockyards, the delightful Elizabethan mansion and gardens at Parham House & Gardens and Weald & Downland Open Air Museum. Go horse or motor racing at Goodwood, we are a great place to start from if you are attending Festival of Speed or Revival!! In fact we will probably see you there! The City of Chichester is the next stop along the route. Spend a day on the West Witterings beach, Fossil Hunting at Bracklesham Bay or visit one of many charming seaside villages. See a show at the Festival Theatre or go to see a movie at the independent New Park Cinema. The area offers sights and activities for all ages and you will not be disappointed with your visit.

Welcome to our peaceful annex, set in a lovely garden behind our family home. The property is located in a quiet, private lane, with woodland opposite. It's perfect for exploring the local area, with countless stunning walking routes in all directions.
The annex has patio doors opening into a studio style room with a wardrobe, double bed, TV, table and chairs, and a small kitchenette with sink, refrigerator, microwave, electric hob, toaster, kettle, and kitchen essentials. There is also a separate shower room with toilet, sink and shower. Outside, guests can use a patio area with table and chairs. Access is through the garden, down some steps off the driveway, onto the lawn then around the side of the house to the back of the garden (automatic floodlights show the way at night). Parking is always available on the lane opposite the house. Haslemere is a lovely market town, nestled on the edge of the Surrey Hills and the South Downs, both Areas of Outstanding National Beauty. For example, the National Trust's Devil's Punchbowl, with stunning views, is around a 45 minute cross-country hike from the property crossing just one country lane. There are some great local pubs including The Mill (less than 10 mins walk) and the Station House (20 mins walk). The local shops in Shottermill include an M&S Foodhall, Tesco, cafe's, ice cream parlour, and local independent shops, all within 10 mins walk. Haslemere High Street (1.5 miles away) offers further options including a Waitrose, cafe's and shops. Lion Green, which hosts events including Haslemere's Fringe Festival, Food Festival, and Open Air Cinema, is located less than 10 mins walk away.

The super king bed can become two singles if guests prefer. Central heating throughout. Outside there is a secluded patio with table and chairs for al fresco dining.

The nearby towns of Godalming and Farnham have a wide variety of restaurants, shops, amenities and history, and Guildford is just seven miles away.

  • Went to Elstead to do some work, and this lovely cottage was the best place to withdraw to, after intense work day. The place is surround by great pubs for some drinks and bites (or dinner) an a supermarket that’s only a 2 minute walk away. The beds were super comfy, the place is bigger than it shows on photo’s, and Allister has been an amazing host which we can’t thank him enough for. Could definitely recommend this place to you all!!

    Oumnia2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Allister was a lovely host, met us to ask if we had any questions. The house surprisingly specious and older period property conversion with lots of original features. We would be very happy to stay here again.

    Charlie2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Allister's place is much bigger and nicer than the pictures shown. It's 3 mins walk across the road to the SPAR store. 5 mins walk to the lovely farm after River Wey where I found friendly horses to talk to ;) 5 mins walk across the street to the cafe (the little barn) which served lovely local food. Bus stop(if u don't feel like driving) to nearby towns is 3 mins across the street, beside SPAR store. The place is very clean, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms super warm during our 12-days stay in winter. The open plan kitchen, dining and living room arrangements makes for a spacious space to dine & relax. Parking is across the road at Spar store. Allister has such a lovely & homely cottage with all comforts nearby. Thanks Al for your thoughtfulness during our stay.

  • Very kindly let us check in a little early as we had to get to a family wedding, host incredibly accomodating, check we were all ok, told us the basics, heating etc. And left us to it. Also, just as a bonus, we got to meet the incredibly cute kitten who lived in the main house too! Would recommend the space. Lovely and warm, perfect as an over night base (just as a side note, there is no toilet/bathroom door which didn't matter for us at all, but good to know all the same)

    Lois2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • great little Barn to stay in. every thing you need, set in a lovely part of the country .. really recommend this. little place.

    Matt2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Cute little converted barn unit, hosted by a terrifically friendly host (who I never actually met but was quite responsive). There are actually several units for rental. I stayed in the slightly larger of the two "side" units (not, I think, the one pictured here) and it was quite homey and idiosyncratic: a small comfortable leather couch, surprisingly well-equipped full kitchen, and a double bed that was (I think) two smaller mattresses pushed together. The bathroom was very small, with a quirky shower that took a lot of playing with to get right, and there's no door to the toilet, which is right next to the bed. Nice shuttered windows and dimmable lighting. The location is not exactly secluded: more like a small farm with a few units all looking out on to a nice open lawn with barbecue and a couple of horses nearby. It's just off a country road that connects Haslemere to Chiddingfold, so there isn't much within walking distance. But it's very quiet and peaceful. Alex was also great: she forgot to provide milk for tea, and when I mentioned it she asked another guest if he would provide it, which he did! It all felt very familial and warm. I'd definitely recommend staying here. Not high-end luxury, exactly, just a really good atmosphere.

Convenient position for going south to the coast or north to Guildford, and with shops and a garage locally. Very clean. Andy2019-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • We visited to get away from London for a couple of days with our toddler. Catherine is a friendly, helpful host and she prepared the space for us beautifully with essentials in the fridge and delicious croissants for breakfast! It's a very stylish and clean cottage with a massive comfy bed and lots of space, our toddler was quite happy running around there. Unfortunately it rained while we were there but there was a lovely garden we could have enjoyed more in the sun. Farnham is a lovely little town (there was a good soft play that kept the boy entertained during a particularly bad rain storm!) and we did some nice walks round the castle and at the Devil's Punch Bowl a few miles away.

    Tanya2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a perfect little cabin! I stayed for a quiet weekend of reading in the day and costing up with a film and hot chocolate in the evening! I loved the big windows downstairs, as they were letting the autumnal colours of the garden in. Catherine has thought of everything - there’s even a hair dryer! Great location a straight walk from the station and the cabin itself is tucked away from the main road and really quiet :) I’d love to come back for another quiet weekend in the future!

  • Trish's place was nice and clean and we felt very welcome. She left breakfast for us, including fresh fruit, milk, croissants, cereal and toasts and her husband Dave even gave us a lift to the wedding venue we were going to in the evening. On the day we had to leave we found a nice gift outside our door - a ceramic mug made by Trish. They were lovely hosts and we had a comfortable stay at their B&B.

We live on edge of enchanted wood and the birds sing all the time and this feels like a magical escape but yet so close to town. This is a much loved home, it's got heart and soul and is part of our family, with my son, dog, cat and horses.
Picturesque town on edge of Surrey with access to world class Polo at Cowdray Park and Goodwood races plus the sea at charming village of Bosham is only 40 minutes away. Fantastic sports centre with pool and massive gym open to the public all year around only 5 mins There are thousands of acres of walking, cycling and riding and this area offers many areas of outstanding natural beauty. Waggoner Wells and the Devils Punch Bowl are right here, Frensham Ponds with the opportunity to sail, is 10 minutes away. Bosham and Chichester Harbour are 35 minutes away. Local town of Haslemere offers great shopping and many local country pubs too. A famous local pub called the Duke of Cumberland offers wonderful Sunday lunches but you must book well ahead.
  • Such a charming surprise, I would love to have stayed longer. A little gem in the heart of the countryside, well found!

  • It is an amazing place. Its perfect for walkers and cyclists. Hidden from busy town.

  • A superb quiet spot at the end of the lane leading to a nature reserve. The room was lovely, though the new cleaner had given me a worn out duvet cover by mistake. Lisa was having a big clear out in the rest of the house, so was a bit distracted. Lovely bathroom and private use of a sitting room. A delightful retreat!

    Mary2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa is lovely, very friendly, chatty and helpful. She responded quickly to any queries/requests. Her home is charming and comfortable and the local area is so beautiful. I highly recommended a walk in Petworth Park.

    Eva2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • LIsa's place is absolutely beautiful and captures the essence of "romantic English cottage" Flowers line the pathway to the house, which abuts a field of horses. It is found down a narrow lane that is dotted with wildflowers and shaded by forest. The house has a shabby chic cottage feel. Very cozy. I loved it!

    Bevin2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great place - thanks for being so accommodating

    Jill2019-07-31T00:00:00Z

A beautiful XVII Century mill cottage one minutes walk from the main line London railway station and one minutes walk from the beautiful town of Godalming. Newly refurbished and decorated, the cottage is an absolute delight. Close to fantastic pubs, delis and restaurants in a town that is always doing something yet only forty-five minutes direct train ride to Waterloo. A perfect location in a perfect town. A second bedroom is available for a third / fourth guest for an additional fee.
Become part of one of the prettiest towns in England in one of the most well known buildings in Godalming. You will be moments from everything yet in a tranquil riverside setting where the sound of the water will send you to sleep at night. The cottage has a small, steep staircase to the bedroom and bathroom and is next to the river. It would not be suitable for those with mobility issues and small children should not be left near the riverside patio.
The cottage is in one of the oldest parts of Godalming. It is very quiet and peaceful. Almost every building in the area is at least three hundred years old. The park and riverside, the town with it's independent shops, Waitrose and the railway station are all a short walk away. Godalming is on the edge of the Surrey Hills and would also make a great base for exploring this area of outstanding natural beauty.
  • Just a wonderful place and the hosts were amazing. Very well located between the town centre and train station. So much thought has gone into providing a great and homely place to stay. We wanted to move in.

  • Helen is a wonderful host and her cottage went above our expectations. A beautiful stylish homely space with all the amenities and thoughtful touches you need to complete your stay. Parking isn’t easy but Helen is open about that. A short walk from the lovely high street complete with numerous pubs shops and restaurants and close to the train station aswell. We can’t wait to stay again!

  • Amazing cottage! Very clean, cosy, atmospheric and excellent location. Highly recommend!!!

    Marieke2019-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • Helen's cottage is lovely. You couldn't ask for a better location and it was just what we wanted for a mini break before Christmas.

    Kasia2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Delightful stay of one week in this lovely cottage in Godalming. It was late November so I did not get to enjoy the outdoor seating by the riverside, which would be a treat in Summer. However, the cottage was warm and cosy with everything you could need. Added bonus was walking distance to the village and the train is just minutes away. Helen was very attentive and a great host. Highly recommended!

    Peter2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Helen is a fantastic host, she is very responsive and flexible. Her wonderful cottage is in a great location, very close to both railway station and the centre of town. It is a warm and stylish home with beautiful decorated. My family and I stayed there for a week, we enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you so much Helen!

    Vivian2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage on Mill Lane is just magical and a wonderful place to stay when visiting Godalming and the beautiful surrounding area. The building is charming, with such stylish decor in all of the rooms. And Helen goes out of her way to make your stay feel so special - from the tea, coffee and biscuits on arrival, to the snacks and a bottle wine waiting for your evening sundowners by the stream, she’s thought of everything!

  • Sally's Shepherds hut is a perfect haven of peace and tranquility, it was hard to leave! The hut is beautifully and thoughtfully designed and feels spacious for a small space. It has everything you need, is confortable, warm and homely. Sally is welcoming and friendly, on hand if you need her but discreet and respectful if you don't. I am already planning my next stay at the farm if she'll have me. Thank you Sally, you and your shepherds hut are true super hosts, not forgetting Donkey.

  • If you’re looking for a tranquil getaway in a cute shepherds hut look no further. Warm, cosy and wonderful walks in nature, to de-stress what more would you want?

  • Wonderful stay at Sally's shepherd hut. Warm welcome and advice given on the local area. We went out for a mountain bike ride round the Devil's Punch Bowl and back to a cozy hot tub. Hut contained all we needed to cook a dinner followed by a cozy night in front of the fire. Bed was very comfortable! Would highly recommend this place. We also ventured to the Sculpture gallery and this is well worth a visit. Thank you Sally for your hospitality

    Steph2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Would stay again

    Dan2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Sally's shepherd's hut is a beautiful little place surrounded by beautiful Surrey countryside. The hut is spacious and the bed is ridiculously comfortable and very large considering it's in a hut! Sally was incredibly welcoming and helpful and we had an amazing time. Feeding the animals on the farm made it extra special as well as the incredible hot tub! We will definitely be back!

    Alivia2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cabin in the countryside - my partner and I came for a night away, to escape city life in London. It is so easy to get to from London (although would recommend you drive), and feels so rural and peaceful. We had a great meal in the local village pub, and spent the evening in the hot tub looking up at the stars! Would 100% recommend Sally's place to anyone and can't wait to go back!

    Megan2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a excellent gem we found! Just what we needed some time away from the hustle of city life. The animals where a great added addition. We was greeted by sally who had warmed the hut and had it all cosy for our arrival! I must say i was really impressed with the hut and was blown away with all the amenities that it came with! Thank you for such a brilliant stay! Sally was outstanding!

    Vicky2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at the Shepherd’s Hut, as we loved it so much the first time we had to come back for my birthday. The electric blankets Sally left in the bed were cozy and divine! We will definitely be back for a third stay!

  • I booked this Air B&B for my parents who came to visit me and they had a lovely time there! The location was really good and also very good value for the price. The kitchen was quite complete with a big fridge, mini wine cellar and dishwasher. We also enjoyed cosy evening on the convertible sofa and the very big TV. The Netflix account on the TV was a nice addition. We all felt at home and hope to be back soon thank you very much for the stay Maria. Only down side was the heating. We did not quite figure out how the timer worked and the heating would turn off every night so the morning were a bit cold but appart that we had a great time.

    Claire2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really beautiful place to stay. The location was perfect for me and we were driving to the South Downs for a race the following day You can walk to the local pub which takes about 11 mins. The roads are well lit so down worry about it being to dark or dangerous to stay out late! The property itself is very open plan which is great for a group having a weekend away together Just bear in mind there is only one bathroom which is upstairs adjust to the bedroom. And the bedroom upstairs has no door to the downstairs area so if you aren’t all planning to go to bed at the same time it could be noisy (personally I can’t see this being a big issue as the bedroom down stairs does have a door so early sleepers can have that room). If some in the downstairs bedroom needed the loo in the night you’d have to walk through the upstairs bedroom to get to it. I would absolutely stay here again we had a brilliant time in a wonderful property.

  • The Annexe is a beautiful hidden away. Great communication from the host. No complaints what so ever

    Alecia2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • The Annexe was the perfect location for our visit to the South Downs. The house was wonderfully clean and tidy and our daughter very much enjoyed the box of Lego. The bed was extremely comfortable so we had a great nights sleep. Maria was a great host and was quick to respond to any messages. Would definitely stay again if we were to go back to that area.
