This is a newly renovated room at the Royal Hotel Sofala. Enjoy a comfy queen bed. You have access to the lovely balcony above the pub where you can see the whole town.
Wonder around the amazing historic buildings and be sure to check out the river behind the pub (maybe even find some gold).

  • This is a great off-the-beaten-track location. Beautiful views over the vineyards and plains to Bathurst and Wahluu. Thousands of stars and many kangaroos. Two very comfortable bedrooms and the whole place is spacious and light. Thanks for the top notch tea and coffee. We loved our stay.

  • This is a very peaceful location with wonderful views towards Bathurst. The host is courteous and the wine is delicious!

    Richard2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cabin in a picturesque & quiet location. The hot water gas ran out during our stay but Mike was available immediately by phone & a new gas bottle hooked up within 5 minutes. If you’re a cold frog like me make sure you leave the heaters & electric blankets on - it can get cold overnight in Bathurst! It was a nice touch receiving a bottle of wine & block of chocolate to enjoy taking in the sunset views. We would definitely stay again.

  • Amazing place. Can't rate it high enough. Stayed one night for work lm but will definitely be back for leisure. Cottages are clean and well stocked. Wine wasn't bad either 😉

We moved from Sydney to Bathurst about 15 years ago because we wanted to live in a rural setting, that was affordable. Bathurst is such a beautiful place to live and visit because the people are so friendly and helpful. And we can still vsit family and friends in Sydney as it is not too far away. We love our coffee and Bathurst has a large variety of cafes and restaurants to choose from.We are very spoilt for choice. We love living in Limekilns,as it is so relaxing, peaceful, private and a perfect escape from our busy working and children’s school lives. When we are driving along Limekilns road, everyone waves to you even if you don’t know them. We love waking up in the morning and seeing kangaroos out the kitchen window, echnidas in the front yard or kookaburras on the side of the road.
  • Wow just wow!!! What a stunning stylish home away from home Carrie has created this place to be. If your looking for a weekend to really switch off from the busy city life and just be, then this is the place. Georgous sunsets and views that just make you want to come back for more. Carrie goes that extra mile and provides everything you need for breakfast, including fresh eggs. When your on the road travelling, this is one less thing you need to stress about buying. Thank you Carrie!

  • It's so rare so not have any corners in your room that makes it unique! Of course there is the view, the breakfast in the table picnic under an old tree.. But what was also really nice was the little touches like the breakfast (fresh eggs, cereal, milk, bread etc.) and the nice smell in the room when you arrive! We really enjoyed our stay, thank you!

    Cyrille2019-10-07T00:00:00Z

  • A beautifully set up private bed a breakfast. Cara was attentive without encroaching and the location is just stunning, evenings sitting outside watching the kangaroos were sublime.

    Nanette2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing oasis in Hill End that surpasses all of our expectations. Thoughtful touches everywhere from design and style with paintings from Luke Scibberas everywhere through to great aircon, surprises in the fridge to make us feel welcome and just a wonderful feel. We’ll be back and happy to tell anyone that if you’re in Hill End or the area you will not find anything better. We were sad to leave. We also loved the kangaroos that are a regular part of the landscape and kept an eye on our car every night ;)

    Kristin2019-12-31T00:00:00Z

Historic hotel, built 1862, in the oldest surviving gold mining town in Australia. Fresh air and see the stars at night. This room has been newly renovated including new beds (queen and single). The bathroom is shared with other guests.
Sofala is a historic gold town. There are beautiful preserved buildings and homes in the town. We have a lovely river behind the pub where you can try your luck at gold panning.
  • If you’re looking for a truly unique stay, then this pub has it all. This +100 year old pub makes you feel like walking back in time. The hospitality is outstanding, the locals are friendly and good for a chat. More importantly, the rooms are clean and well presented. Beds are modern whilst the room has a real rustic charm. The royal hotel in sofala is the perfect weekend destination if you want to drop off the grid for a while and enjoy some real Australian hospitality!!!!!

  • Great spot to stay on an old historic vineyard called Winburndale. The dirt road off the main highway takes you past some scenic farms with local wildlife and bush land and leads towards the main property. The main cottages have great views overlooking Bathurst city towards Mt Panorama. The infinity pool was a great feature with great views over the vineyard. Complimentary local bottle of wine was a kind gesture. Great communication from Henry throughout the stay. Would highly recommend for a nice weekend away in Bathurst. Cheers.

  • I cannot express how amazing this stay is, my partner and I were lost for words. The views from the cottage were beyond compare, and the hospitality we had was above and beyond. Truly an amazing trip every moment. Michael truly knows how to look after his guests and taught us a lot about the area. 6/5 stars 🌟

    Isaac2019-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • My otherhalf stayed in one of Michael's cottages for two weeks whilst at an extended and demanding job nearby and thoroughly enjoyed his stay. It was like it was meant to be. Clean and well appointed, amazing location and views at the winery, lovely hospitality, and major bonus points for access to beautiful boutique wines hand crafted by Michael himself and the on site tour of old mines on the property. My otherhalf highly recommends this stay and would return again.

A chalet-style double room with queen bed & ample storage space. Mount Calm is a 160-acre property situated at the top of Mount Rankin. It offers its guests a comfortable and relaxing stay with spectacular views of the Duramana region. I ask guests to please be mindful of water usage as the ONLY water is tank water. Ideal for individuals or couples wanting the peace and quiet of a rural escape. Come and explore the central west or just tune in to nature and drop out of the rat race.
The room is well equipped with a metal framed queen bed, 2 bedside chest of drawers, 3 built in wardrobes, with separate shelving and ample storage space above.
The property is about half an hour to Bathurst. Mount Calm is situated at the top of Mount Rankin with sealed roads almost to the front gate (700 metres of unsealed road). Eglinton village is approximately half way to Bathurst and it's small shop will come in handy for convenience items. Bathurst has some excellent restaurants and cafes to choose from to match all budgets. Please feel free to ask for further guidance.

We stayed in a room which was clean and big enough for a couple, but the highlight was definitely the farm itself. We really enjoyed our stay at Michelle’s and will hopefully be back soon.

  • We loved Andrew & Rebecca’s 20Mile cottage, 25mins or so from Bathurst and very clean, honest and comfortable. Andrew was there to welcome us on site and had a good chin wag. Made us feel very welcome. Cheers Jeff.

    Jeff2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks Andrew we loved staying at 20 Mile Cottage. Despite having to work it was a really great short break.

  • It's our second year staying at the farm. Both occasions we had a lovely time feeding the sheep every day and went cherry picking in Orange. It's an easy access to Bathurst, Mudgee, and historical towns like Sofala and Hill End. The place is clean and fully equipped, perfect for family with kids like us. Andrew is a perfect host and thank you for everything for our stay :)

    Cindy2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew's property gives a city person a great taste of country life. It was wonderful to stay at his property, which he and his family clearly thoroughly enjoy and cherish. We really loved an excursion in his ute to feed his sheep. We chose to bring in most of our food, only eating out on our adventures to Bathurst, Orange, Sofala and Hill End, all of which were a pleasant drive away. The Minerals Museum in Bathurst is sensational, not to be missed. As our the iconic old historic towns of Hill End and Sofala. We highly recommend staying at this sparkling clean and very spacious home.

  • Out of the way was exactly what we wanted. The Dempsey cottage is beautifully appointed with many thoughtful touches. The stars from the spa was a highlight. This is a complete getaway and if you simply cannot bear disconnecting, make sure you have Telstra cell/mobile. A very special place.

    Tegan2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely great location property I will be returning

  • We thought Jayne’s place was fabulous. We really enjoyed the hot spa at night, wood fire inside and all the lovely touches. Thanks again Jayne

    Damien2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place to disconnect and recharge, really nice house ! Jayne has been super responsive and helpful throughout our entire trip. Can only recommend! :)

    Edwige2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • This place is absolutely everything you would want for a weekend away: • Friendly accommodating host • Beautiful View’s of rolling hills • Hot tub under the stars with a plastic wine glass in hand 🍷 • Fancy robes in the closets for your journey to the spa • Lots of wood for a cozy fireplace • A kitchen with every utensil you could possibly need • SUPER comfy beds • Dining table, & indoor and outdoor coffee tables for games and nibbles! . The dirt road through the back pasture makes for a wonderful stroll that takes about an hour or so to loop you around back to the house. (Over a creek bed, past grazing sheep and Heeps of kangaroos hopping about over the hill.) • Fenced yard for your dog to easily explore in and out of the place and very friendly dogs next door :) • If you don’t have Telstra there is no service and no WiFi so everyone can ignore their phones and be in the moment.

    Kaylee2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • The only warning this place should come with is that you’ll want to stay longer! This cottage was perfect for our weekend get away, being able to take our dog with us was such a special added bonus. The cottage was clean and Jayne had thought of EVERYTHING you might need whilst there, from platters for cheese boards to seperate towels for the spa and also a coffee pod machine. Everything in the cottage was of a high standard and had a great homely feel to it. The spa at night under the stars was spectacular, it was equally as good in the afternoon in the day light with a fresh country breeze. We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage and would love to make it a regular get away. Couldn’t fault this place on a single thing!

  • Wonderful place for a weekend away! Sonya went above and beyond to make you feel welcome and cared for. The place was clean and stylish and immediately we felt at home.

    Christina2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing first glamping experience at ‘Stargaze’. The place was secluded, quiet and peaceful. We checked in and was welcomed with red wine and the best honey we’ve ever tried! We also did horse riding for the first time and absolutely loved it. Thank you again for such a wonderful stay.

  • Great stay lovely and clean glamping tents are amazing !!

    Peta2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing and styling glamping, all the decorations were so well designed. Love the place!

    Xinyang2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I stayed at Dreamtime for 3 nights and we couldn’t ask for a better glamping experience. Everything about the tent is extremely thought out and very stylish. Cooking food at the kitchenette and the grill was easy and all the utensils were provided but do bring your own ingredients and spices! The location is absolutely stunning and highlights everything Capertee has to offer. Just prepare for long road trips if you want to go to wineries and caves but it is worth it as the sceneries along the way are breathtaking. Sonya and Soren were absolutely wonderful and sweet so do make sure to pay a visit and have a cup of tea with them. Don’t hesitate if you need help with your tent or planning out your trip as they are more than happy to help you out. I can’t recommend Turon enough and I’m so happy to have celebrated our 3rd anniversary there.

    Jenny2019-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • This glamping experience is worth the price you’re paying. The tent was amazing with little touches of the owners and next to stables where horses stayed, we were able to pat and see the horses come up to our tent. It was such a great way to get away from the city and recharge. I highly recommend staying here for the weekend. Although just beware, for those who have a smaller car the drive into Turon Gates is gravel and a little of roading.

    Nicole2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most amazing time, total relaxation in the most serene environment. The glamping tents are out of this world, complete luxury and well equipped. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.

    Karen2019-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • this is gonna be a short one: out tent is called "dream time" and we both agree that there's no other words more appropriately named for our time spent there. it's all you need to get away from the noise and relax while enjoying the great hospitality of Sonya, our host, offers. there's no thing better.

Escape to the country, in this cosy, charming, pet friendly log cabin. Fully equipped kitchen, wood fire, great views, large, fully fenced area adjoining house with BBQ and bonfire pit. Endless bushwalking from the door, 15 minutes to Turon River, 50 minutes to Mudgee vineyards and 5 minutes to fabulous Capertee pub. Great dam also for the dogs to swim in.
This property also has a timber fenced horse paddock, so bring your equine friend too.
Capertee Royal Hotel is great for local pub meals, 5 minute drive Mudgee vineyards just a 50 minute drive Turon River 15 minutes drive away for swimming and fishing
  • The photos do not do this property justice. If you want to get away from it all but equally be within an hour of Mudgee and the other quaint towns of the region this is perfect. All the rooms of the cabin are clean and spacious with an enormous deck, looking out of spectacular views. Our kids (3 under 5) were able to entertain themselves for hours very safely - I would have no hesitations bringing kids here. Extra bonuses include the hammock, fire pit, and bbqs. A place you will certainly want to come back to.

The cabin was comfortable with all amenities provided & a good living area. We would be very happy to stay there again. Anne

Check out the quirky townships of Kandos and Rylstone, explore the Wollemi National Park, head west to the wine regions of Mudgee or north along the scenic Bylong Valley Way. A great place to relax and take some time out and breath in the fresh country air and a great place to use as a base and explore the region.
THE BOWERS HIDEOUT is a small, studio style, free standing bungalow. It has recently been totally refurbished so it is fresh, clean and ready for guests. The property is situated on a very large double block with great views looking up to the Coomber Melon Mountain often with drifting fog and mist. The bungalow is fully self contained with well equipped kitchenette and en suite bathroom . We are about a 3 minute walk to a well stocked supermarket and liquor store for supplies so no need to worry too much if you forget anything.
Kandos was until recently the home of the 'Kandos Cement' mill which is still standing right on the outskirts of town. If you have seen or been on the Sydney Harbour Bridge you can thank Kandos for supplying the cement that went into building that plus half of Sydney. Kandos today is a mix of retired workers from the mill, others who were born and grew up locally and a range of 'blow ins'; generally people escaping the city life for the country. The good thing about country towns is that unlike cities which people love or hate, most people that live in country towns like living there.
  • What a surprise this little cottage turned out to be. We were expecting a "shed behind a house in a tiny country town" The town was much larger than we expected and The cottage was perfect. Shawn has done a great job proving all the amenities you need for a comfortable stop over.

    Sue2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great location in kandos. Note that there isn't WiFi. Shawn kindly offered to share his mobile data/hotspot, but if he isn't there, not sure what would happen re WiFi.

  • Bower's Hideout was a great place to stay in Kandos. It was homely, clean and had everything you'd need for a comfortable stay. Shawn was very friendly and helpful, he's obviously put a lot of effort and thought into making his place and Kandos region accessible to visitors. Communication was easy, and he was also very understanding when I made a mistake with booking dates! I would highly recommend.

    Emily2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • We felt really at home at Bowers hideout which is a very comfortable cabin in a quiet area.It contains everything you could possibly need and particularly worth mentioning is the great bed and whisper quiet airconditioning .Plenty of room in the large lush garden to stretch your legs. Shawn is a very friendly and helpful host and we would love to visit again !

    Rosemarie2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • We like Shawn's place so much we stayed again and had another great experience.Looking forward to our next visit !

    Rosemarie2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • We got to Shawn's place 4 hrs later than expected due to getting lost hiking in the Wollemi National Park. Shawn met and greeted us and gave us access to park the car inside the locked and secure premises. We found some cold lemonade in the fridge which was a fantastic addition. We had a very good rest and break.

    Rinay2019-10-07T00:00:00Z

  • We had a wonderful stay at the Trig Station Hut which dates back to 1875. Glenn was a splendid host and he was very considerate throughout our stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a rustic and an out of ordinary experience.

  • We had a quick stay at Trigg hut after camping in Lightning Ridge. The kids were super happy to have a comfy bed and fun atmosphere. Quirky and cool! We’ll definitely be back. Glenn was very quick with response as GPS was tricky and he heated up the place upon arrival which was amazing as it was pretty cold.

  • We stayed in the Trig Hut which was so cosy and warm. We couldn’t have asked for better weather with gorgeous sunsets. This was a unique, remote experience which I would recommend to anyone wanting to stay somewhere unusual and peaceful. Glenn’s hospitality was fabulous and happy to offer suggestions on where to go if you really wanted to leave the cosy hut.

  • Unique, cosy and clean! Very interesting property with lots to look at. The Trigg Hut was spacious and very comfortable. The wood fire and gas heater kept us warm on what was a cold weekend. Glen was great with local tips and things to see and do. Thanks for a memorable weekend!

  • Staying here is a great experience. Glenn is a welcoming host and the park is a wonderful place to wander around. We really loved building a cosy fire in the evenings and enjoying the peace. Great for a weekend escape, a unique way to explore NSW countryside

  • Glenn’s Artisan’s Park is truely a dream to visit. There are playful, creative sculptures everywhere that really will shift your perspectives of living, being sustainable and eco-friendly with the minimal cost to earth. The beds are really comfortable, the fireplace brings peacefulness within, the hot shower was rejuvenating. We were well looked after by Glenn, his brother James and their animal companions Daisy and Button. Glenn has a well of knowledge and he kindly shared the local knowledge for us to explore the surrounding area the next day, and the communication was very efficient. We had a very restful sleep and a very pleasant and fun stay. We can’t wait for our next visit.

Comfortable rustic accommodation in a recently renovated quaint original cottage surrounded by wildlife and birds. I ask guests to please be mindful of water usage as the ONLY water is tank water. As we are on a property out of town, you may also encounter creepy crawlies. Ideal for individuals or couples wanting the peace and quiet of a rural escape. Come and explore the central west or just tune in to nature and drop out of the rat race.
The cottage was completed in early 2015. It has a large living area, wood fire, dining table and chairs and a serving hatch through to the kitchen. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob and also a range cooker for nostalgic guests. It also has a fridge freezer and ample storage space. Basic crockery and cutlery is provided. There is also a walk-in pantry to the rear of the kitchen which houses the hot water tank. The room contains a queen bed with occasional chair, polished wood floors, a double wardrobe with 2 drawers and two bedside chests of drawers. The bathroom has a bath (shower above), toilet and wash basin.
The property is about half an hour to Bathurst. Mount Calm is situated at the top of Mount Rankin with sealed roads almost to the front gate (700 metres of unsealed road). Eglinton village is approximately halfway to Bathurst and its small shop will come in handy for convenience items. Bathurst has some excellent restaurants and cafes to choose from to match all budgets. Please feel free to ask for further guidance.

  • A wonderful and amazingly appointed hideaway perfect for families or anyone who wants to escape the city grind. Within a short driving distance to the Mudgee wine region and to other historical areas such as Hill End, it is a perfect location. The home itself has comfortable beds and great amenities for large groups, and for the kids there are some very friendly cows and ponies to keep them occupied. Also a great outdoor area including fire pit to watch the stars in the evening. Not a lot of internet/phone signal out there but frankly that’s part of the charm. Switch off and enjoy the fresh air!

We really appreciated the thoughtful gestures around the home and loved going for a horse ride in the morning despite the cold weather! We didn’t want to leave, but hope to return to stay in a hilltop cottage as well one day x

The Shearer's Quarters is camping meets homestay - an authentic farm experience in the heart of the Cudgegong Valley. Once a home for the shearers who visited the farm for more than 50 years, The Shearer's Quarters is now a cosy cabin with views of the property. It's a unique experience for those looking for a different kind of country getaway.
The Shearer's quarters has 6 individual bedrooms, a communal kitchen and living area. The Shearer's Quarters are basic, with limited power access. Only hardened travellers should stay in winter months.
  • The Shearer’s quarters is an absolute gem! We loved staying there so much. The aesthetic of the quarters, the freedom of the farm and the 5 minute drive to beautiful Rylstone and all that has to offer was a perfect combination to make our getaway memorable.

  • Do yourself a favour and leave the city for some drought tourism and support little towns like Rylstone. Tracey and Steve were lovely hosts and our kids got to experience some great outdoor freedom. Felt a little like stepping back in time to when life was a little simpler and slower paced. We will be back soon to hopeful wander through some green paddocks. Thanks again Tracey and Steve

  • Great location and property for our group of 9 family and friends for the Rylstone StreetFeast weekend. The property is very peaceful with great views across the farm and the sunsets and sunrises were amazing. The accommodation was full of country charm, the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and we especially enjoyed the outdoor sitting area. Tracey has put a lot of thought into making the Shearers Quarters very comfortable and the breakfast supplies provided were greatly appreciated. Everyone left very happy and relaxed. We will definitely be back.

    Harrison2018-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Arianne is a fabulous host, her farm stay is a gem nestled among hills and farmland, perfectly relaxing and perfect to sit watching the sun rise and set. Arianne has a gorgeous Staffy pup, full of life and fun to play with. I was in Orange viewing a dog from a breeder with no intention to buy that day but as it turned out the breeder let me take the pup as i live over 4 hours away. Arianne let me bring the pup to the property at short notice and went above and beyond to accommodate us. We all had an amaizing time with Arianne and love our stay at her property. Keep in mind that this is a farm, there are cows mooing, flies outside, bugs and other things outside that are usually found on farms bit ot is nothing bug repellent and closed in shoes if walking around the property cant fix... ..the trip from Orange (GPS GIUDED) through Hill End to the property is gravel road, steep inclines and lots of wildlife so take Ariannes advise on directions as it will be alot less sketchy although I loved the view on the way but suggest not taking that route at night. all in all it is a fabulous place to kick back and relax, beds are super comfy and all your needs are met. we will be staying again

Artisans Park is a unique farm set 1000m above sea with winter snow.
  • We had a great stay in the Artisans Park. The location is spectacular, with 360 degrees views over the surrounding countryside from the peak which is at a height of 1,000 metres. We rented the Whistle Stop Railway Station for our young family. Glenn told us straight away that it was a smallish space, but we went for it nonetheless and had a brilliant time. There was a stove for heating with plenty of cut wood, useful for the evening chills. Kids bicycles were available and they enjoyed it a lot. This is a secluded place, it feels far from the rest of the world, and yet the road to get there is easy even without a 4x4. Bring your own food, but there is a small shop to buy water and milk. Glenn answered our queries very quickly, and Bjorn did a great job showing us around the place. Bathrooms are shared but very clean. Altogether a great place for a unique experience.

  • This is a very unique property. We ended up staying in the army watch tower which gave us great views of the valley. We particularly enjoyed watching the sun come up over the valley in the morning. Glenn was very welcoming & gave us an insight into his future plans for his property. We look forward to returning to check out his progress.

  • We had a great time at Whistle Stop. The accommodation itself was really interesting, with the fire it was nice and cosy, and we had a great time sitting around playing snap with the kids. The bathroom was only a short walk away and super clean. The accommodation is located on a big property with lots of interesting sculptures, great views overlooking the valley, and plenty of unique photo spots. Glenn was a gracious and friendly host and didn't mind our kids exploring and playing all over the property. We had a great time, and hopefully one day will travel back this way again so we can stay at the cottage.

  • Michelle is a true super host worthy of this title. Her property is well named and I got exactly what I hope for: a calm and quiet holiday. Her animals are lovely, a must stay for city animal lovers like myself. Booked for 3 nights should have stayed for a whole week :D will visit again soon.

  • Location was very scenic with a geuine feel of a retreat. Enjoyed the quiet in a nice large house, with the feel of a farm stay. Wanted to stay longer to enjoy the peace and quiet.

  • Michelle's place was perfect for relaxing after the hectic Christmas period. It is in a gorgeous setting with ample indoor and outdoor areas to sit and soak up the atmosphere. Michelle was always quick to respond to messages, communication was good. She is a warm and generous host and we felt very much at home. Can fully recommend.

  • Nice little farm tucked away just 10mins from Bathurst. Plenty of space for a walk and views that go right down the valleys.

    Christopher2017-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle's place is absolutely lovely. Easy to find from the main town of Bathurst, the home is equipped with anything you need: tea, coffee, towels, fresh linen. We were even able to fit in a riding lesson from Michelle, which we highly recommend doing it you visit Mt. Calm. We would definitely stay here again and strongly recommend staying here if you want a tranquil getaway.

  • Wow, what a stay! Jayne’s property and the cottage itself was breathtaking and was made even better with the thoughtful touches, the lovely welcome and of course the spa under the stars. Being able to walk across the property was great and we loved sitting out the front watching the sunset and playing chess. If you’re thinking of booking to stay, do yourself a favour and book! We loved how quiet the area was and getting off grid was a blessing!

  • Amazing, relaxing and all you could ask for. Jayne’s house has the most luxurious linens and furnishings. The bed is wonderfully comfortable and the spa bath out amount the stars is amazing. The yard was perfect for our three Samoyed girls too. All you could need is at your fingertips. We would love to come back one day.

    Tracey2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • An absolute treasure!! Absolutely everything about this place was perfect. We were so surprised how beautiful and serene the location was. The pictures are amazing though even still, certainly don’t do it justice! Jayne and Simon - thanks again!! We will certainly be back

    Michelle2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Jayne's place is complete relaxation. The highlight was the spa under the stars. We would definitely stay again, and longer next time.

    Lisa2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • We’ve stayed at countless Airbnb’s and jaynes is by far the best we have ever stayed at. The cottage is beautiful, spacious & clean, the kitchen is stocked with everything you need and even had a bottle of wine and snacks waiting for us. The balcony overlooking the hills is stunning and the perfect spot for dinner & drinks while watching the sunset or breakfast as the mist lifts and kangaroos hop by! We went hiking with our 2 big dogs to the dam and they didn’t wanna leave, with 400 acres for them to run through this holiday was more for them than us 😂 the spa at night was amazing to watch the Milky Way, we’ve stayed all over Australia and never seen it so bright and beautiful! We loved that by staying here too we were supporting Australia’s drought stricken community. If you are after an off the grid romantic stay I couldn’t recommend Jaynes place enough we are already planning our return in the winter!

    Ellen2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • WOW!!!! This place is amazing, everything about this cottage is beautiful and the views are spectacular. Would 100% recommend to anyone wanting to get away for a weekend. Jayne was wonderful, and kindly gave us wine and snacks ready to go. Best part was relaxing in the spa with a glass of wine and watching the stars!

    Tara2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved spending a couple of days at Jayne's place. Such a gorgeous property! Jayne was easy to communicate with and extremely helpful. The spa outdoors was the highlight for us - relaxing with a glass of wine and enjoying the views. Our 2 doggies loved roaming around the big backyard. Will definitely come again. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful property with us Jayne!

  • This place is absolutely breathtaking! Don't be fooled, the photos do not do it justice! It was better than I could have ever expected! Part of that was being off the grid (be prepared, if you are not with Telstra, you will be 20 minutes from being in contact). I thought this would be more difficult, but it was actually the best part about it. No distractions, just the beautiful scenery and the romance. Do yourself a favour and be immersed in this property. Thanks so much Jayne for sharing this space with us!

  • Charming and comfortable country stay, close to Bathurst yet feels like a farm stay. Stacks of room for extended family or a group of friends. There are 2 cottages so you could rent both for an even larger group or to enjoy more privacy yet stay together.

    Karen2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great location easy to get to from Sydney and quite central to Bathurst, without being in the middle of the suburbs. It was nice being able to walk around the property and sit outside in peace to have a meal. This was what we hoped from a farm style cottage.

    Ashley2020-01-17T00:00:00Z

  • Wow. What a cabin! Beautiful pressed tin walls and ceiling, humongous comfortable bed, excellent shower facility and a full laundry. The location is excellent and we had no problems navigating to all the places we needed to be. Shame it is so dry and most of the animals were relocated, but Uno was friendly and clean and a pleasure to have visit us. There were ample cleaning products in the awesome bathroom and rustic kitchen, and info packs for local attractions. Thanks for having us!

Hill End is a unique, isolated village in the Central Tablelands of NSW. From the early 1850's to 1890's Hill End was made famous by extraordinary gold finds. In it's heyday it had the second largest population in NSW. During this time Bernard Holtermann (mine manager) commissioned photographer Beaufoy Merlin to photograph Hill End and other surrounding gold areas. Using these photos Holtermann publicised the Australian goldfields throughout the world. The huge glass plate negatives of these photos were lost for many years until in 1953 they were found in a shed in Sydney. Because of Holtermann's incredible forethought we have a complete snapshot of Hill End in 1872. Many of these photographs are displayed around the village. Another feature of Hill End is it's beautiful avenues of trees, orchards and roses. Many of these were imported from Europe by Louis Beyers (mine manager partner of Holtermann and Hill End's first Mayor) Hill End was declared a historic site in 1967 and is managed by the National Parks & Wildlife Service. Hill End retains many original gold rush buildings and has attracted many artists including Russell Drysdale, Donald Friend, Jeffrey Smart, Jean Bellette, Brett Whitely and Peter Wright (to name a few) who have been inspired by the rugged beauty of the area. Today, Hill End still supports a thriving art community and a diverse mixture of local characters. A unique part of Australia's history!
  • This absolutely beautiful apartment is in the heart of Hill End - watch the kangaroos from the lovely balcony and walk the town. The apartment is very comfortable and spacious with very thoughtful amenities - the breakfast supplies were a very welcome touch and much appreciated. We had a fantastic time, couldn't get over how gorgeous the place was.

  • It was an amazing place to stay. Relaxing and quiet. Gaye and Jim were amazing hosts, happy to help with anything you needed. Definitely recommend.

    Temyka2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Not only a great place to stay in, it's a real part of NSW and Hill End history. Located in the best part of town, it's literally the closest accommodation to the pub, general store and the Hill End Hilton. We were greeted with all the amenities city slickers could ask for, soft but firm double ply toilet paper, nespresso pods and machine, juice, bottled water, DVD player, cool DVDs, shampoo and conditioner. From the balcony you could watch the sunsets and the extensive wildlife Hill End has to offer. We saw goats, roos, Wallabies, rabbits, deer, parrots, galahs, native pigeons, birds I couldn't identify and, according to my girlfriend, a UFO. If you're looking to escape the city or to reconnect with your memories of school excursions, you will be hard pressed to find a better place.
