  • We had a wonderful stay in the cozy studio! The space is so ingeniously designed that we were super comfortable and had everything we needed for our long weekend. The setting was beautiful in February so we can only imagine how incredible it must be in the summer. We enjoyed the new WiFi and it worked perfectly during our entire stay. Our hosts were delightful and charming. They really make hosting look easy! This is one of those special Airbnbs you feel sad to leave but we are already planning our return!

  • Stopping beautiful! Very welcoming, attentive hosts. Relaxing place. We recommend it. The icing on the cake: dogs are very welcome too !!!

    Thirion2019-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • My stay with Sam and his family was amazing. They made me and my dog feel extremely welcome from the first minute. I was even invited to a dinner with their friends and I was able to get an inexpensive dinner the first night as there are not too many restaurants in the area. Their son Leon showed me around the small village and indicated a walk around the beautiful nature in the area. The guest room is very spacious and cosy and has its own bathroom. The bed was super comfortable. Breakfast with homemade jam and local cheese was delicious. Sam’s family was extremely easy going and hospitable. Absolute role models of Airbnb hosts! I would return there in a heartbeat.

La Tuilerie is a tranquil space just outside of St-Jean-de-Paracol. There is one bedroom with 3 single beds and another bedroom with a double; both sharing the bathroom. The view from the throne has got to be one of the best! La Tuilerie is ideally situated for hikers and cyclists being near the GR7A, national cycling route and MTB trails.
Guests share a bathroom and sitting/dining room. A simple breakfast (tea, coffee, toast and jam) is included. There are no guest cooking facilities but tea and coffee and the use of a fridge and microwave is available. We have a room where you can store and maintain your bike (track pump, repair stand and most tools available). La Tuilerie is particularly suitable for cyclists (road and MTB) as I have been in the biking holiday business for many years. We have 2 resident dogs (Fauve de Bretagne) and an outside cat so sadly are unable to accommodate any guest pets.
In the region there are Cathar castles (Puivert and Montsegur the closest), Rennes-le-Château and swimming lakes at Puivert, Arques and Montbel. There's a bar/restaurant 7 minutes drive away at Fa and shops and restaurants 12 minutes drive away at Esperaza. You can visit the medieval cité and château at Carcassonne by coach/train for 1 euro from Esperaza! We are well-place for the GR7A national footpath (about 25 mins walk) and there are lots of walking, cycling and mountain biking routes in the area. Local markets Esperaza (Sunday), Mirepoix (Monday) and Quillan (Wednesday and Saturday).

Everything is there to spend a great moment away from all the superfluity of everyday life ... Only negative point in Christian: you have to leave the place and go home at the end of the stay :-)

The gite is set on the ground floor of a 150 year old converted watermill. It borders a river and sits on 2 acres of wooded land. The little village of Puivert is ten minutes walk, known for its Cathar castle and swimming lake. It’s a perfect spot to relax, or to explore this wonderful area, famous for its history and its wine.
The living space is compact and cute. It has a vintage style kitchen, soft seating and a table and chairs. There is a double bedroom, a twin room with two single beds, and a modern shower room with toilet. Sofa bed available in the living space for extra guests if required. The main space leads out to a sunny patio, with gated steps down to the the river. Next to the river there is a lounging/seating area and a built in barbecue. It's a lovely spot for a meal on a warm evening. There is plenty of space on the land to layabout, play games or climb trees. (Owner lives on the first floor).
We are in the Languedoc region in the South of France, a beautiful, unspoilt part of the world. There is loads to do here: wine tasting, horse riding, cycling, wild swimming, and soaking up the history. Or you can just enjoy the sun. Puivert is a sleepy village in the foothills of the Pyrenees, 60km South of Carcassonne. It is home to Chateau Puivert, part of the famous Cathar Trail. The Chateau overlooks a swimming lake which buzzes in the summer. You can hire boats, fish, chill on the beach and grab a drink or a meal from the lakeside restaurant. The village has a couple of restaurants, a midweek night market (July-August), and even a micro-brewery. The brewery often serves food and hosts some great live music. All 10 minutes walk from the house. There's a bigger village called Chalabre about 10 minutes drive away. It has a couple of butchers, a grocers, a bakery and is great for supplies. The closest supermarket is about 20 minutes away. The Mediterranean is about 90 minutes, and there are 3 ski resorts close by. Some of our favourite local attractions are: - Quecorb Museum - Montbel Lake - Monsegur Castle - Mirepoix medieval village - Les Gorges de Galamus
  • This is a wondeful find! The place was a warm and cosy retreat after days skiing and I recommend 100%. We loved the kind extras like the jam and the homemade cake too. We're already planning when we can return to explore the area more. Thanks for such a warm welcome and for being wondeful hosts!

  • This is stylish accommodation with great attention to detail. The bedding is surpurb, the homely touches welcoming and the location exquisite. If you love nature, history and beautiful accommodation this is the place to stay. Natalie is warm and welcoming and an excellent communicator.

  • Natalie has been kind, attentive and she has helped us in all our questions and needs. Her guide of places and tips is great ... The house is lovely and cozy. We have been a short time, but in such a beautiful and relaxing environment ... we are thinking to come back!

    Cesc2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Dear travelers! You will not regret if you want to stay here. The location is ideal for exploring these magnificent mysterious places. Just ask to take into account the river is rustling under the windows. If you don’t like it, choose another accommodation. But it’s wonderful ❗ She lulls her .... Like rain ... The house itself is very convenient, comfortable clean. You will feel exactly in the house. Not in the apartment ... I wish you a good rest. And I envy you. I will definitely be back .

  • It is in a charming place in the heart of the countryside that Dominique welcomed us. We highly recommend. The shared pantry was very well equipped. Having a small terrace, an entrance, and a private bathroom was a great asset. A big thank you for the welcome.

  • We stayed with Dominique for 20 days, it was exactly what we wanted, very clean and tidy and super relaxing in the tranquility of the countryside. We took our our car, to make getting around easy, but the roads in France are very easy to use, there’s many places to visit close by and many market towns for a coffee and food. Dominique is such a lovely lady, extremely helpful and gives wonderful advice, we shall miss both her and the Petite Gite, will definitely be returning soon, Nigel & Angie

  • Had a great time at this quaint little chalet. Wished we could have stayed longer because it is a great place to escape from the chaos of the world. Carina was incredibly accommodating, especially regarding our spontaneous planning. The goats were adorable as well.

  • We had an amazing stay at Arianes, the cottage was perfectly equipped with everything you could possibly need and the views were outstanding. Ariane and her family were very welcoming, would go as far as to say they were perfect hosts. Would definitely recommend.

  • Very nice&cozy 2people apartment in the middle of nowhere, perfect for a weekend getting lost near nowhere. -Pros: really nice area. The house is completely heated by a chimney and two electric heater which work perfectly and are enough during winter. -Cons: wifi is non existent, only works near to Ariadne’s house (50m away from the place). The pool is shared with all the stays in the domain and closed in winter.

    Roberto2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Very good cottage

    Pierre2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Very functional cottage, close to nature and very clean. Ariane is very friendly. 2 remarks: - the first: if need of internet, the use of the mobile phone in modem is essential. The connection is really very very very slow, - the second remark: for the winter, the Scandinavian stove would heat this cottage wonderfully well.

    Patricia2018-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent welcome. Ariane gave us very good advice on tourism. We loved this small sheepfold located high, comfortable, well equipped, enjoying a nice view and a terrace ideal for ptits dejs, planchas meals and aperitifs facing the sunset.

  • Excellent stay in a quiet and relaxing place La Bergerie is very pleasant To recommend

    Jean2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect place to get away from everything. Quiet, tranquil and so beautiful. We stayed in the Bergerie which was at the top of the property. It is the perfect size for two adults and has a private BBQ which we used every night! Ariane was incredibly welcoming and very friendly; she gave loads of suggestions of activities to do, places to visit, restaurants to eat at etc. We would particularly recommend a visit to Lastours if you go to stay. Our favourite holiday to date and we will definitely be coming back!

    Joel2017-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived in the evening so let ourselves in as arranged. Ariane came in the morning and made us feel very welcome. The cabin was situated high in a secluded section of the garden which was perfect for us. It was clean, spacious for our needs (2 of us) and very good value. We were only there for three days but would have stayed longer, had time allowed. A good base for exploring the area - we particularly liked Rennes-Les-Bains and the Galamus Gorge.

This beautiful little log cabin is surrounded by forests and pastures. If you are looking for a quiet place in the countryside, this is where you should come!
This eco-friendly construction was built following traditional scandinavian and east-european designs. It is situated on a 7000 sq. m fenced plot of land in a quiet valley. This is the perfect place to rest and relax in.

  • Patricia managed to welcome us with great organization as well as Pierre and Oliver who was very available for us at all times. The arrival was very well organized despite their absence which posed no problem for us to return to the scene! We will not forget Gaucho, the family dog that we already miss. Nice place, very isolated and ideal to rest and cut off from the world, excellent landscape near ski resorts and mountain paths.

Nestled in the beautiful village of Saint-Jean-de-Paracol, our designer rustic-modern barn conversion comes complete with large back patio flowing into a lovely private garden, surrounded by gardens and nature. Ideal for walking and hiking, writing retreats and couple getaways, our petite maison is the perfect base to explore this fascinating region of the south of France, the heart of Cathar country. (PS: our kitchen is great for foodies!)
The house has an open-plan "rustic-modern" design on two levels, with living, dining and kitchen area upstairs, and sleeping quarters and bathroom downstairs. The back door opens onto a wide wooden deck which flows onto a grassy lawn and surrounding flower gardens, a large cherry tree, and a line of poplar trees to the west, near a small stream, an ancient cemetery and a bird-filled forest. The kitchen/dining area is fully equipped with a 5-burner Italian (Glem) stove and oven, a dining table that seats 6 people, an industrial-style counter with 3 stools, small dishwasher and fridge plus all culinary condiments, utensils and crockery in a rustic-modern style, and plenty of cooking equipment. The living room has a gorgeous sofa (the Scandinavian brand, Eilersen) that is super comfy for sleeping one person. Downstairs, a queen-sized master bed and single/twin (with pull-out trundle bed) in the open-plan bedroom can sleep up to four (ideal for a family with one or two children). We have two bicycles, local terrain/hiking maps, and an intriguing library with inspiring books about the area. We also supply a well-curated list of local food shopping options, attractions and adventures. Saint-Jean-de-Paracol is randomly bustling and tranquil during the day. The evenings are usually perfectly tranquil. If you are planning to be out and about mostly during the day (and there is so much to see and do in the region!), the random noise of the village won't be an issue for you. If you're staying in all day for a writing retreat you'll find that the house is well insulated from noise, and quite cocoon-like (also, most noises don't linger, and are soon drowned out by the sound of tranquility again).
We’ve discovered a unique part of the south of France that’s just a little on the wild side, steeped in mystical ancient history, and as beautiful as you can imagine. It’s a region where gorgeous chateau ruins abound amidst a fascinating mystical history. You can also explore hilltops and valleys, nearby hot pools, caves, canyons, enjoy superb off and on-road cycling, hiking, kayaking, rafting, climbing, and canyoning. St Jean de Paracol is nestled in the upper slopes of a valley which follows the river Faby to its convergence with the river Aude, in Espéraza. On the other side of Espéraza, is the magnificent hamlet of Rennes le Chateau, famed for its mystical and conspiratorial history. Surrounding our village is a rich, luscious landscape of rolling hills covered in forests, streams, and grassy meadows lined with wild flowers. Nearby alleys are filled with vineyards, rivers, fields of sunflowers and wheat, and tiny villages sporting exquisite yet slightly wild gardens.  The sound of nature predominates in this tranquil little village - cicadas in the summer, owls at night, and birdsong generally throughout the year. In the summer, every other day, a croissant truck passes through the village with the most delicious fresh patisserie. Otherwise, for shopping there are supermarkets a short drive away, but best of all is the local Sunday market in Espéraza, a world-class market full of expert food vendors from various traditions (including French and German-style bread, numerous local cheese producers, organic produce, and local artisans of all kinds). St Jean de Paracol is a cosmopolitan village filled with an inspiring mix of local French people and immigrants, artists and creatives, many doing beautiful and creative things daily, whether it's gardening, painting, teaching, crafting, building or composing. We supply you with a list of local food specialities and sources (including gathering your own local mushrooms), as well as local yoga teachers, caterers, winery, history, cycle and walking tours, local museums and micro-breweries, and many other attractions unique to the area.
  • A great stay of more than a week with only positive memories. Cherie is an excellent hostess who did everything possible both before and during our stay to make it as easy and pleasant as possible and always kept on asking if everything was satisfactory and if we felt happy. Well, we were! Rarely rented such a beautiful and complete house. Lovely free garden with various seating areas, very complete kitchen where you can really find everything you are used to at home. Everything in the house is of above average quality. From the sharp knives to the professional frying pans, from the (rain) shower to very comfortable beds and ditto pillows. Last but not least, the delightful sofa that can also serve as a sofa bed. The house is typically French on the outside, but on the inside it has been tastefully renovated and decorated in a warm Scandinavian style. With an eye for detail and with tasteful accessories. Cherie gave us many valuable tips. For example, we had a wonderful bath in the River Salz close to the spa town of Rennes-les-Bains and a day later in the fairy-tale setting of Fountain d 'Amour and we visited one of the nicest markets in France, the Sunday market in Esperaza. Very international visitors, little alternative, but really nice and cozy. The prices are also a lot lower than we are used to in other markets in France. Many locals also sell their baking and home-made jewelry. Very cheap and very good vintage clothing. The dinosaur museum in Esperaza is also a must. On the advice of Cherie we had a delicious Sunday three-course lunch in restaurant CreaMundo, 25 Avenue de Mathil, 09600 Léran. Near Lac Montbel and the troubadours castle Puivert. Chef Nicolas, from Antwerp and therefore also speaking Dutch, cooks the stars of heaven. The village of Saint-Jean-de-Paracol itself is very small and has no facilities. For bread and groceries you have to drive a few kilometers, but we found that no problem. It is nice and quiet and you live in the middle of nature. Thank you Cherie. We hope to come back again next year to enjoy your formidable accommodation again.

  • We had a great week at Cherie, enjoyed the terrace and the garden, and made beautiful walks and visits to the region (less than an hour away by car). Cherie recommended great places to visit and was always concerned about our comfort (she had a sunshade installed for the heat wave announced). She leaves at disposal all that one can need in a house (tea, salt, oil, shampoo, ...) and it is very pleasant. For a relaxing break for two it was perfect!

    Laurence2019-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful terrace with a beautiful garden. Cherie provides her home with the staple foods: oil, vinegar, salt, tea coffee, etc. which is handy. You just have to pack your bags and go enjoy the region.

  • An adorable hideaway deep in the Pyrennes foothills. The house is very well furnished with every convenience (except mobile phone coverage, and this is the sort of place you come to to get away from that!).

    Ken2019-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Wow !!! This is the word that comes to mind when we think about our stay in this beautiful Airbnb. We are used to Airbnb, and this is the one where we feel most "at home"! Comfort in a barn beautifully renovated and tastefully decorated, in a quiet village, with all the necessary to live well (utensils and kitchen products for example), a wifi running perfectly, a beautiful energy in the place, a beautiful cozy garden ... that HAPPINESS !! Thank you darling for your availability, your advice and this experience will remain etched in our memory!

    Manon2018-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay. The place was exactly as described and we could have easily stayed a month. We spent our time, walking, hiking, biking and exploring all the small villages nearby. Cherie was the perfect host, quick to respond and full of many great suggestions. We will be back.

    Sandy2018-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • This house is very cozy. The kitchen-living room is a spacious space where you can share moments of reading and tranquility as wonderful after-lunch after a meal. It is a house that has everything. In cold weather or in rainy seasons the chimney is the best ally. We have used it continuously because it was necessary. The house is quite cold and it is hard to heat at this time, especially the area below which the heat of the fireplace does not reach. The place is wonderful and the tranquility that reigns in the environment is priceless. You sleep beautifully, there are different types of pillows and you can not hear anything. The terrace with garden has great possibilities but we have not been able to use it much. The Wi-Fi connection works very well and communication with Cherie is almost immediate. In the house there are many road maps, mountains and castles nearby. The rest of the useful information is given by her. To park there is no problem. If you do not want to get to the door, there is parking two minutes from the house. It is a little gem of a house and I would repeat the stay. If you like to feel in a natural environment, outside the madding crowd this house is a good option.

    Txispi2018-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Cherie's place for 12 nights in January. I was worried it might be cold but the stove is really good at heating the space, and there were plenty of logs, We were cosy. Downstairs, The bedroom was heated by a wall heater and was fine too. The place is really well equipped - Kitchen has everything you need and even basic ingredients like oil etc. There is no bath but the shower is really awesome! And there is lots of hot water. The village is really pretty and quiet, And the surrounding area is forest, hills and othey villages. There is not really view from the house so you have to get out and about to appreciate it. A car is almost essential as it's really hilly, it was lovely to do some cycling on the bicycles provided but I would not like to have to bring home the shopping up all the hills! If you have a car you can drive to the high pyrenees, The cathar castles, and local markets within an hour to an hour and half. There's also nice hikes locally and some good maps in the house. Parking near the house is really really tight, We ended up parking down the street at the village car park, a couple of minutes walk away, which was fine and much easier. The main bed is quite small if you like to sprawl! But there is another fold out bed which is bigger, and the couch bed upstairs. Cherie was really helpful and sent us lots of info about shopping, etc. and how everything worked in the house. Good to note that if you arrive on a Sunday afternoon almost everything will be closed even in Carcassonne so plan ahead food wise! Great spot. Really enjoyed our stay there.

  • Superb stay in the middle of nature. The apartment is much better than the pictures I must say! Vincent personally welcomed us by taking the time to show us everything and explain as well as give us good addresses of wine cellars. The apartment is very spacious, well equipped, well decorated, warm, and beautiful views of the vineyards, we never get tired! The village is very quiet and very close to larger towns like Limoux or Esperaza where there is a super market on Sunday morning. We will come back next time we want to relax and take in the full of nature! Thank you Vincent :)

  • A perfect stay in a beautiful cottage on the farm.

    Thomas2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lydie and Fabrice. Couple. 4 nights. End of August 2019 We were looking exclusively to relax around Lake Montbel, we found the cottage must. The accommodation is nestled in the middle of hilly nature, near a river more or less generous depending on the season. No neighbors on the horizon, with the obvious exception of the owners of the farm. No other tenants on the site, which is rare enough not to specify Our hosts were friendly, responsive and refined. JP. and N. distil with measure discretion and availability. Everything is thought and balanced between sobriety and comfort so that the traveler can enjoy precious moments of serenity, even family festivities (picnic table, ping-pong, bowling green and lounge chairs at the foot of an oak tree imperial). Cleanliness and functionality are also on the appointment. The living spaces are super equipped. The bedding and sanitary are irreproachable in an eco-responsible spirit. Our final opinion: The Aude-Ariège region is invigorating and full of history to discover. Lake Montbel, a little liquid jewel. The local catering is rich, friendly and welcoming. And the cottage on the farm of JP. and N. is in the middle of it all. So, Compagnon Voyageur, stop searching the internet, and click your ticket to Montjardin, to be part, in all simplicity, Privileged. (And do not bring too many books to read, you will not be able to finish first). We'll be back.

  • We were in family, five adventurers ready to pierce the medieval secrets of Puivert and Lake Montbel. If you seek a pied-à-terre to discover the foggy mysteries of the Cathar country, it is here that you must find yourself in the hollow of this lost valley. Absolute calm and full nature will be your daily life in this small stone apartment, restored and optimized. The welcome is in the image of the place and the hosts: perfect.

Enjoy free private Internet while you take a step back in time in this beautiful quaint town house with river view. Master bedroom opens onto sun lounging terrace with dining facilities for romantic evenings. Near to Historic Rennes le Chateau, Cathar castles, lakes, river rafting hillside walks, relaxing hot springs and a superb wine cave. Dinosaur and Hat museum. A large colorful Sunday market with artisan/farm fresh produce and entertainment is in the plaza at the end of the our street.
The entrance to 'Maison Magique' is in a small narrow and quiet street off the main square. Parking is just outside the house by the colourful community garden or in the square. The area at the back of the house faces south and overlooks the river from 2 terraces. THE MASTER bedroom where you can sleep deeply to the sound of the river flowing below, there are access doors to the upper terrace from this bedroom. THE TERRACE is also a relaxing space on warm summer evenings, to watch birds and flying in the sky or a Squirrel in the trees in the morning. Both terraces have facilities for dining. THE KITCHEN is well equipped with a large fridge, a gas stove, cutlery, pots, pans etc. and a pantry. The floor tiles with the motif of the region are old but beautiful and give the impression of having receded into the history of Langudoc, a mural done by a former owner of the coastal town of Collioure, we didn't have the heart to paint over it as we love to visit Collioure whenever possible. THE BATHROOM is large and located from the downstairs patio. It includes a shower, toilet, sink and bidet, bath towels, soap and rolls of toilet paper are provided. The traditional shutters decorate the windows, you open for the light but it is also a good idea to close them during the day, to insure that you come home in a pleasantly cool house after sight seeing and other activities during the day. THE INTERNET is strong throughout the house and terrace and patio. Esperaza is located in the heart of the Cathar fortresses of the Languedoc region and known for its ecotourism. It has long been a secret getaway for nature-loving travelers and we have a lot of hiking trails through spectacular scenery. The area offers inexpensive cuisine, fantastic wines, fresh air, fresh mineral waters and an authentic county life. One end if the street is home to community garden and the other end you find the town square with banks, bakery, grocery shop, bar and the Sunday/Thursday Market. The quaint and comfortable two bed roomed townhouse is enjoyed throughout the year by ourselves and is only available to rent in July and August while we visit family in Ireland. We remove our clutter to make a neutral and clean but homely space for our guests, we are fortunate to have been awarded the 'Airbnb Superhost' status 5 times! If you have any questions regarding the house or the region, we are happy to help
A 5 minute walk to thr end of street and across the square brings you to delicious cuisine in the inexpensive restaurants or experience and enjoy dining at home with fresh produce from the very best local Sunday market. There are two Boulangerie and Patisserie in the town, so do stock up on fresh local picnic food and go out and enjoy the real flavour of the region while dining alfresco/ plein air with an exquisite mountain views with vineyards and stone fortresses. Enjoy some of the many walks which surround the town or hike further into the surrounding area. Esperaza was once the hat producing center of the world, do visit the Musee Chapelerir that is beside the spectacular dinosaur museum. Art and history is seen everywhere from galleries in the network of caves 12,000BC to the Museum of Modern Art in Ceret and down into Spain to delight in Dali's artistic life. Rennes les Chateau is nearby which became internationally famous since the publication of Holy Blood Holy Grail and more recently The Da Vinci Code. Rennes les Bains originally built by the Romans is famous for it's therapeutic waters and baths. Alet les Bains is a 11th century medieval village which is a favorite for picnics by the river and collecting of mineral water. Limoux has street theater and a champagne like sparkling wine 'Blanquette de Limoux'! A visit to 'Le Cité in Carcassonne is very good and also Montsegur the last stronghold of the Cathars.

  • Very nice stay at Horizons Verts! The place is very pretty, quiet, surrounded by nature and Ruth was very helpful and helpful throughout the stay. We were able to enjoy nature, the music festival of Chalabre and the pretty village of Puivert thanks to his advice. The spaces (chalet, tent, pool, kitchen ...) are very well managed and maintained. Ruth and her husband have found a very beautiful place and have done something great and useful, for the travelers but also for the different animals that they collected there. To know all the same: in Puivert you will not be able to do any shopping at all so plan especially if you are not conveyed.

  • Ruth’s place is very special. Very few places have such beautiful nature, tranquility with a blanket of stars to gaze at in the evening. These wonderful surroundings are only rivalled by Ruth’s great hospitality and helpfulness.

  • Ruth was a very warm and friendly host. The cabane was cosy and warm despite the cooler temperatures. The bathroom was very clean with a great shower. The poolroom was nice to cook our simple dinner. We loved the setting in amongst the hills and walking to the chateau and the village. Perfect Pyrenees getaway destination on a budget.

  • Excellent stay with Peter and Ruth! They were very welcoming! Fussing over us! I really appreciated it. It is quiet and the change of scenery! There are so many possibilities of activities! What is great is that we not need a car. Indeed, Puivert village is 5 min walk from the house. I rested well during my stay! Next year I plan to take my parents, my brother and sister in law! Family, in Findlay!

    Rim2014-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay here, the cabane was clean, simple and well equipped. Having access to a BBQ, the grounds, the pool, hammacks etc made it great value for money. The town in about 5-10min walk, with surrounding beautiful countryside. Only advice would be to pack your mosquito spray! Overall great stay and wish we could have stayed longer

Beware the mosquitoes though, they are ferocious! (nothing the hosts can do about that though!)

La Tuilerie is a tranquil space just outside of St-Jean-de-Paracol. There is one bedroom with 3 single beds and another bedroom with a king-size bed; both sharing the bathroom. The view from the throne has got to be one of the best! La Tuilerie is ideally situated for hikers and cyclists being near the GR7, national cycling route and MTB trails.

  • I don't know where to begin! First, Tabby was terrific and I hope in the future to get to know her much better. What an extraordinary and interesting woman. Secondly, I have never before been in such an amazing, quirky, arty, creative, crazy place - wonderful and unique, but don't forget to bring provisions: the shops are a long way off, and quite a drive! Thirdly, I got a choral concert thrown in, with all the inspiration it gave me. The birds at dawn and dusk will gift you the same. The owl was wonderful. And finally - WHAT a peaceful place. Tabby, I'd love to come back. You're remarkable!

  • This flat is really well kitted out and has a nice kitchen living area, with a private patio and garden area. The shower is great too and the bedroom stayed cool in the heat. We really loved sitting out and looking at the trees; it’s a really lovely secluded and shady area. The pool was clean with lots of comfortable deckchairs. Ruth kindly provided a welcome basket with food and drink on arrival and even bought fresh pastries for us from a bakery on several occasions. She was a great host, very friendly and organised. And the swimming lake and night market in Puivert village are brilliant.

  • Greeted by our lovely hosts Ruth and Peter, we liked Green Horizon immediately. We stayed in the spacious studio with a spare bed and enough privacy for two persons, a kitchenette and the feeling of living in the middle of the huge garden. Cats were everywhere and the pool was very appreciated after a long day discovering the Pays Cathare. The B’n’B is very good located (even when you are arriving by UFO ;-)), with Puivert and its Castle in walking distance. Thanks to good timing we even got to see a great firework at the lake of Puivert. Nicole and Bernhard
