Enjoy the tranquility of a working cattle farm and newly renovated country home with wood-burning fireplace. Easy access from the Gold Coast Airport 1hr 45 mins or 2 hours from Brisbane you’ll be surrounded by the Scenic Rim with local wine, cheese, olive producers. The fresh water Running Creek provides swimming, fishing, platypus and turtle spotting at your doorstep or relax around the fire pit. Search Running Creek Cottage for our social mediasites including Instagram #runningcreekcottage.
The gorgeous, quaint country home originally known as 'McNabs Cottage' is surrounded by the McPherson ranges on our 670-acre cattle farm. The farm has intersected throughout it the mountain-water filled Running Creek. Swim, fish, drink it, listen, watch or even just sit in it and you'll be infatuated within moments by the creek that never stops running. The cottage is a two-bedroom plus built-in verandah, self-contained home (bigger than it looks) including fireplace, recently refurbished in a modern country style in the middle of prime cattle country. Enjoy your local wine, cheese and olives either outside by the fire pit and BBQ area or in the reading nook. The front built-in verandah gives you additional bedding so that the house can sleep up to 7 people with a master Queen room, 2 single beds in one room and a bunk configuration on the veranda for 3 people. Quality linen, towels for bathing and swimming, bedding and decor ensures a comfortable stay. Fill your days with roaming the surrounding country side enjoying locally produced products and farm-gate experiences or stay onsite enjoying fishing, swimming and interacting with the farm cattle including feeding our 3 charming horses and cattle. We even provide the carrots. A very private country home that you can do as much or as little in. The kitchen is brand new complete with a freestanding SMEG 6 burner gas stove and electric 90cm oven. Tefal non stick frypans and saucepans with every cooking utensil you need to cook up a storm including foodie essentials such as cheese and charcuterie boards and wine glasses. The well-equipped single bathroom and toilet come with toiletries including shampoo, conditioner, body soaps, insect repellent, sunscreen and big fluffy towels. As we are paddock to plate beef producers we have our very own Running Creek Beef fresh meat products that you can order from us in advance. As we are far enough away to give you complete privacy but close-enough to assist you within moments anything you may need during your stay we will endeavor to provide.
The nearest town is the cute regional town of Rathdowney. It has a 7 day per week general store and takeaway. Just down the road is the Rathdowney Hotel open for lunch and dinners most days. 30 minutes away from the Cottage is Beaudesert which offers 2 hotels, an RSL cafes and shopping centres. If you would like information on the surrounding farm-gates and local produce please ask when booking. We have Olive Groves, Wineries and a Lavender Farm within 30 to 45 minutes.
  • Thanks for the great weekend away. Enjoyed by all. Recommend if you want to get away from the hi tech world but still being close enough to town

  • Debbie and Rod were very welcoming upon our arrival. The cottage was spacious, extremely homely and had wonderful views and interactions with cattle and horses. Location was amazing with lots to see and do. 10/10 would recommend and hope to stay again!

  • Running creek farm is a beautiful property! We had four toddlers with us and they had the time of their lives! The house is a lovely farm house and we felt instantly at home, the owners went above and beyond.. even bringing the tractor over for our children. We will definatley be returning next year 😁

  • If you don't like a peaceful, secluded holiday in a perfect corner of Australia then this spot is unfortunately not for you. Our family immensely enjoyed a seven night stay over Christmas and absolutely loved the peaceful country surroundings. Running Creek, is surprisingly a very literal name as the creek was still flowing when most creeks in Australia were dry. The creek produced the one Bass (we released it back to the wild) and a platypus sighting for the family. The amenities were spot on and the house has been tastefully renovated on the inside. The train line through the property had our excited family running to the backdoor each time an occasional loco eased past for a wave. Down to earth owners Debbie and Rod went to great lengths to make our stay special and the Christmas decorations were above and beyond expectations. Tops stay.

  • Great little getaway, kids were occupied the whole time. We went on walks around the property to explore and found a tunnel under the train tracks, found the horses and fed them the carrots provided. The fire pit kept us warm under the stars. To top it off we got to feed some of the calves then saw the swimming spot and got to have turns on the kayak. 10/10 recommended from the whole family.

  • We had a great time at your place. It was a lovely holiday for us, kids enjoyed their freedom to run around the field and kayaking in the creek, feeding the horses and creeping around the cows. The cottage was great size, clean and very homey. Host were super friendly & welcoming and very thoughtful for providing all amenities. Thank you again for everything. Hope to visit you again.

    Susama2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage sits between two spectacular mountain ranges. I never tired of gazing at them. With no neighbours in sight or earshot you can truly unwind in Debbie’s comfortable and well appointed cabin. I will be back for sure.

    Duncan2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful experience! Each and every minute requirement for stay was taken care of. The cottage is at perfect location for people who want to enjoy their time in nature away from city life. The house is super clean and spacious.

  • This cosy cabin was absolutely wonderful. The location was excellent and the view was just incredible. It would have to be one of my favourites in the scenic rim. We climbed Mt May thanks to the guide book on location and visited the excellent cafe down the road on their recommendation and loved it! The cabin was perfectly clean, the fireplace was perfect, and the kangaroos on the lawn out the front were awesome. If we could afford to buy this place we would. Thank you for a great weekend!

  • Staying at Julia and Ewan’s home was a simply wonderful sir bnb experience. The house is so stylish and clean and Julia welcomes you so warmly into her home. The location is fantastic and Julia provided so many kind touches. I especially liked the adorable little dog Bonnie. Special treats such as her brownies, slices and biscuits were so lovely. Julia and Ewan are marvellous hosts and I would recommend staying there to everyone. Julia’s breakfasts were fantastic - add the special touch of preparing it herself. Julia and Ewan were full of local knowledge and happy to chat and offer a cuppa anytime. I look forward to staying again sometime in the future.

  • This was the nicest AirBnB experience I've had! Home cooked brownie on arrival, amazing breakfast (especially the scrambled eggs!!!) - the hosts were amazing. We had great conversation, it felt like I was an an uncle/aunt's place - not people I just met. The place has wonderful views, a very relaxing vibe and I look forward to coming back!

  • Julia was a great host and the shared facilities were excellent. we had a very early departure and she was kind enough to see us off.

    Norrie2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Genuine, real and incredibly hospitable were Julia and hubby. Made us feel right at home. Our bedrooms were sparkling clean and comfortable. Both Julia and hubby took such good care of us, even preparing a breakfast for us in the morning before we headed out hiking. A real b n' b. Would highly recommend this on to anyone so to experience such a warm welcome stay as we did.

    Della2019-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Without doubt, our stay with Julia was one of our best stays with whole Airbnb experience! Outstanding hospitality with care and love to everything they do! 5star resort breakfast, comfy beds and great company! Recommend to those who loves to get to know people, meet their host and enjoy outstanding service!

Stay in a charming renovated dairy on Flagrock farm. Set apart from the main house complex you will enjoy a peaceful environment with soft decor, air conditioning, rustic simplicity throughout and wonderful views. 7 kms from Boonah township which has its own local charm. You'll have access to national parks and hiking trails. Flagrock farm has a meadering creek with small gorge which offers undercover BBQ and open fire place facilities for you to enjoy. Flagrock has sheep and a sheep dog.
At this time we have limited mobile reception with telstra being the better option. If needed you can come up to the house to get better reception. The dairy at this time comes without WIFI or TV facilities. Along the creekline there are opportunities for bird watching. Tea and coffee facilities will be provided and a light continental breakfast is provided.
Boonah offers over 7 coffee shops. Try the story tree or hummingbirds for a great coffee. Mt Alford also offers a boutique brewery and coffee shop as well. If you are into hiking, the scenic rim offers wonderful mountain hikes, eg Mt Maroon, Mt edwards, Mt Mitchell and many others.
  • 10/10!! Really loved our stay with Trina. It was a world away from the tourist filled coast. Trina was so generous with her time, offering loads of useful tips on places to visit. The accommodation itself was even better than we had expected and had loads of novel personal touches. Highly highly recommend!

  • A great host, Trina is an excellent communicator. The Dairy is more beautiful than even the photos can do justice. If you want to stay somewhere where you can connect with country life this is for you. The bbq area and creek are wonderful, be brave and go for a swim on a hot day.

    Donna2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place to relax and we felt very welcome. The accommodation had everything we needed and we enjoyed the fresh decor. The BBQ was great too and we saw some turtles in the creek

    Rebecca2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful stay at Trina's place, located very near the heart of Boonah. The dairy is cosy and quaint - very comfortable beds, sufficient equipment in the kitchen and a clean bathroom. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a quiet, farm-like experience!

The Cabin is a converted shipping container with a double bed, kitchenette, shower and toilet. Heater and Air conditioner TV and DVD Under cover BBQ. Stunning valley views of the border ranges and farmland. Birds abound and wallabies hop by. Please Note: We are not a short distance from Lamington National Park - that is at least a 2 1/2 hour drive away. We are about a 30 minute drive from Mt Warning, Natural Bridge, Mebbin National Parks and 45 minutes from Springbrook National Park.
Limpinwood Valley is a beautiful part of the world, surrounded on 3 sides by the border ranges and Mount Warning (Wollumbin) on the other. We have 2 villages (Chillingham & Tyalgum) about a 10 minute drive away and still only 40 minutes from the Gold Coast Airport and beaches. We do not have easy access to hiking trails but we do have a pleasant pastoral walk. We are a NON smoking environment.
In the village of Tyalgum there are some very interesting shops and a lovely cafe 'Flutterbies'. Well worth checking out. Chillingham, another close village, has Bucks Barn with Australian Bush Tucker. Friday night is pizza and music night at the back of Flutterbies cafe in Tyalgum. There is no late night shopping in our villages so, if you need supplies you will need to be there before 5 p.m. or stop at Nerang or Murwillumbah on your way here.
  • Had such a great weekend at Noeline's airbnb. A real country escape, can easily forget your conveniniently only 45 minutes from the gold coast. Noeline and her husband were great, very welcoming and friendly hosts. Will definately be back!

  • Noeline and Russell’s beautiful cabin is located in a breath-taking location with the most amazing mountain views, surrounded by bird life and wallabies. The cabin is super comfy and has everything you need including a bbq to cook outside and a beautiful, private deck. We had the best time in the 10 days we spent here and enjoyed trips in the surrounding area. There’s lots to explore such as cute towns with cafes, beautiful hikes and rivers close by and the beach is not too far either. Noeline & Russell are the most lovely hosts, very thoughtful and helpful. We loved our time here, highly recommend staying to anyone and are sure to be back. Thank you Noeline & Russell!

    Simone2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • The place is amazingly beautiful, the facilities perfect, all little details thought of by the lovely hosts, Noeline and Russell. And the wallabies and birds made it even more special.

Ridge Cottage is a hand built stone and timber house in a natural private setting, surrounded by Lamington National Park. A perfect spot to get away from it all. Inside, the upper level is a kitchen and dining area, while the sunken open plan living area includes lounges, a fireplace and a queen bed with a loft above that has a single bed. There are also two verandahs with outdoor settings. The shower and composting toilet are in a separate room on the verandah, just outside the loungeroom door.
Enchanting, tranquil, magical, quirky, surreal, stunning, incredible. Just a few words used by recent guests to describe the cottage. There is also a treetop walk and wineries. Canungra is the nearest town, just a 20min drive, on the way to Mt Tamborine. It is a lovely country town which features several cafes, an art gallery and book shop and the Canungra Hotel. This is also the closest town for petrol and a supermarket. Springbrook is the next mountain east of Beechmont and has a number of walks to choose from including Purlingbrook Falls and the short walk to Best of All Lookout, which is 1000m above sea level. Dave Groom Studio Gallery. All of the artwork in the Cottage is by your host, local landscape artist, Dave Groom. Adjacent to Ridge Cottage is the Dave Groom Studio Gallery, which is open to the public. The Gallery is generally open between 10am – 4pm. There will be a sign on the wall at the end of the Gallery telling you whether it is open. Please feel free to visit during opening hours, or contact Dave to arrange a time to visit.
The unique feature of the Ridge Cottage is its private location on the edge of Lamington National Park. Back down the road is the rural settlement of Beechmont, once a large dairy farming community, it is now a scenic landscape of varied farmland. While there are no shops on Beechmont there is a cafe at the Old School sight, as well as the Flying Bean Cafe at Rosins Lookout. This is also a popular hangliding launch sight and a spectacular spot for views into Numinbah Valley and over the border into NSW towards the ancient extinct shield volcano, Wollumbin.
  • Ridge Cottage is the perfect place to get away to write or draw or paint or reconnect with nature.

  • My partner and I celebrated Valentine’s Day at this magical and enchanting self-built cottage. The privacy of the cottage promotes a cosy and comfortable atmosphere. We enjoyed a massage - recommended by Dave (Bliss Massage Beechmont) - in front of the fire place while the rain teemed down! Pack your slippers and warm clothes because you won’t want to leave The Ridge Cottage!!

Restored 90 year old farm building separate from house overlooking the McPherson Ranges and Mount Barney on a 17 acre farm block with animals. Great place to stay if you are walking Mt Barney, Mt May or Mt Maroon - 40 mins drive north. The cottage can accommodate 3 people using a queen bed and a trundle bed (extra $15/night). The cottage runs on solar power (off the grid); gas cooktop; gas hot water; septic toilet; tank water and wood heater. Dean's shed is overflowing with stories and harness.
Our 17 acre block is just a couple of minutes walk from Woodenbong, a small rural village in northern NSW, 2 hrs south of Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Being in the country we don't have access to all of the telecommunication providers that the majority of Australians have in the city and living on the coast. However, we are served by Telstra so if you have a Telstra account you can use your mobile phone, laptop, ipad here. We have access to a wi-fi - ask for the password (charges may apply). Our advice is to disconnect from the city and reconnect with the country.
Woodenbong is a small rural village and it was founded to support the growth of the timber industry and the pastoral industry. In the village there is a hotel, a 24 hour Mobil driveway, a chemist, a newsagency, a hardware store, a grocery shop, a real estate agency, a panel beating service, engineering services, a take away shop and Linda's Pitstop (coffee and food), a bus service to Kyogle, Casino and Lismore, a Pre School and a K-12 Woodenbong Central school. We also have access to a Hospital, doctor's surgery and ambulance service in Urbenville (12kms from Woodenbong).
  • Kim and Dean have done a wonderful job! A gorgeous little self contained cottage with everything you could possibly need. Such great value for money! Thank you for having us!

    Bron2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Kim’s place is really magical. Kim gave my kids carrots to feed Ellie the horse. The cabin is lovely and cosy. One has to be prepared for off the grid living which means watching timing of use for toasters, kettles, use of hot water etc. They were accommodating to have a generator running when we needed as an overcast day meant limited solar energy. Kim also gave us a special offer so we could ‘sneak’ out booking in for a brief overnight stay. She has put lots of thought into it. We also enjoyed the board games she provides in the room.

    Samantha2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, nice and quiet

    Robert2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside. Kim and Dean are lovely people and I'd go back anytime.

    Antoine2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • What a view, what a view, what a view! Sitting out on the verandah immediately outs you in relaxed holiday mode watching the animals and listening to the birds. The cabin has a wonderful aspect over the surrounding hills and catches the local breezes to keep the place cool. What a wonderful little gem, I will stay here next time I am in Woodenbong (I’ll be eagerly trying to think of an excuse to come back soon)

    Heather2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Charming cottage and stunning location

    Haitham2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is a repurposed farm building which has been well decorated with a super comfortable bed, beautiful timber touches and retaining original infrastructure - one of a kind! It is nice and close to town with a beautiful outlook. Woodenbong is close to several national parks including Mount Barney and border ranges so is the perfect place for hikers to stop and explore the area. We really enjoyed watching the local wildlife and visits from Ellie the horse whilst sitting on the back deck.

  • We so enjoyed our time at Kim’s place. The peace and quiet from a hassle of city life was just what we were after, and we were not disappointed. The bed was extremely comfortable , and every thing you could need was there. Thanks Kim and dean for a great experience

  • Cosy little hinterland cottage, we loved our stay here! Falling asleep on a very good bed to the sounds of the night, then waking up to the first rays of sunlight and enjoy breakfast with view on the lake and coast. It’s a ‘shame’ it wasn’t colder during our stay, then we would definitely have tried the stove!

    Jennifer2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a delightful weekend just kicking back and relaxing. The walk down to and swim in the creek was our highlight. The farmhouse had just enough old country charm mixed with modern conveniences to allow a most comfortable stay. Double and king beds very comfy. Thanks Sue for a great stay.

    Marsha2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • One week at Kirro was very nice and peaceful. There’s hardly any traffic and most of the time you can just hear the wind and the birds. Wallabies and cows are frequent visitors, which is nice. If you are looking for a tranquil place to do some reading etc. and enjoy the nature Kirro is the right place for you.

    Juhana2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Completely spontaneous weekend away. Last minute booking & Sue had everything all organised and waiting for us within hours. We will certainly return. Waking up to the cows out the window was just beautiful! Thank you!! 🙏🙏

    Brittany2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful country house and delightful surroundings, every room clean and warm. Well equipped kitchen with outside gas BBQ. Herds visit every morning, children very happy to feed. Host Sue so nice Intimate and easy communicate. She invited us to her farm just 2 min driving from the house. Children feed more horses and sheep in the farm. Unforgettable experience. We will definitely repeat :)

    Jin2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Kirro is a perfect place for us to have a holiday where we can escape from the city and people. The view from the house is stunning. There is water in the river nearby even in summer. Sue is truly the super host. We really enjoyed our farm visit led by Sue. It was a wonderful experience. Given opportunity, we would love to stay at Kirro again.

    Suchada2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • What an experience. This was better than I could have imagined. This country getaway is perfect for that romantic get away, family holiday or that real Aussie experience for any international guest. Sue made the entire process flawless and I thank her for that as we were staying for work near by. The house is immaculate with so many little personal touches. The opportunity to do a farm tour is a once in a life time experience for so many, so make that part of your list of to dos.

Relax and rejuvinate at Big Bluff. Wake up to kookaburras that announce the dawn and rolling mist on the mountain tops. A cuppa on the deck watching the hares dart past, or a spot in the Polaris to check the cattle before brekky. Big Bluff is a working cattle farm nestled in a hidden valley in the Border Ranges. It has a perfect playground, rolling lawns to run across and a purpose-built entertainment hut for tunes and tall tales.
Choose from a bushwalk to look out over Mt Lindsay or follow the meandering creek. Connect with the land, and connect with the animals. Feed the chooks and collect the eggs, and just sit awhile and watch them. Catch up with a good book, switch off and let your mind to wander, or slow down and truly talk to your partner or your children. Rest. Relax. A spot of paddock cricket or boules, or try your hand at cooking damper over the campfire. Feel the air change as the sun dips below the horizon, setting the clouds alight with a myriad of colours, then relax in the Bull Ring with a beer or two. The Bull Ring has a dream playground attached - slide, cubby, climbing frames and swings - so it is the hub of the farm for everyone! Valley View sleeps six with a queen bed, two king singles in the second bedroom and a sofa bed in the lounge. It has a fully self-contained kitchen and two outdoor decks with magnificent views of the valley and surrounding hills.
Big Bluff is so close to the Border Ranges National Parks. Border Ranges National Park (31,683 hectares), a World Heritage listed rainforest park on the rim of a vast and ancient volcano, adjoins Lamington National Park in Queensland. It stretches 85 kilometres from east to west. It forms part of the caldera of the Mount Warning shield volcano, the largest caldera in the southern hemisphere. It can be viewed from a range of lookouts with bush walks and picnic areas. Border Ranges National Park has spectacular views, pristine rainforests, waterfalls plunging into deep gorges, sparkling creeks, steep scarps and rugged ridges.
  • Jodie and Wayne are incredibly welcoming and friendly and the view from the accommodation is outstanding! We all had an absolute ball with the highlight being the Polaris tour of the farm in the late afternoon - sooo much fun!

    Susan2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is the second time we've stayed at Jodie and Wayne's and we loved it as much as the first. So accomodating with the kids, letting us tag along and be part of the fun. A great place to share a weekend getaway with friends, space enough for eveyone and lots for kids (6, 6, 4 & 4) to do exploring and adventuring as kids should do.

    Erin2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay. Best farm stay I've ever been to. The accommodation was immaculate and we enjoyed getting to see the farm. Worth staying just for their passionfruit butter, yum!

    Sarah2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great time at the Big Bluff! Jodie and Wayne were the perfect hosts and made us very welcome. The farm tour and helping with the feeding of the cattle the next morning were absolute highlights. We were welcome to wander around the property and we enjoyed an evening picnic in the orchard. The drive to the pinnacles look out in the border ranges was well worth it too. Hopefully one day we’ll be back.

    Lucy2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Jodie & Wayne’s Farmstay! The little touches like the breakfast basket, the keep-sake luggage tag and the personal tour of the farm were the parts I loved the most. The kids loved feeding the animals and playing on the playground! We look forward to coming back again!

    Sarah2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Big Bluff was beautiful! We booked a very spontaneous trip and the place exceeded our expectations. Jodie and Wayne are lovely, they gave us a tour of the farm which we all loved. They also brought us fresh eggs, bread and bacon for the morning. The place is beautiful and peaceful, perfect for a weekend away.

    Gabrielle2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Jodie and Wayne’s, and the very thoughtful touches like the farm breakfast basket made it a perfect experience. The kids loved seeing all the animals and playing in the barn and playground, and the Polaris tour out to see the cows was a highlight! Great hospitality and definitely a unique farm experience out on Big Bluff!

    Thea2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Big Bluff was one of the most enjoyable breaks we have had in a long time. Our boys, who are 10 and 7, absolutely loved it. Saturday night around the campfire with pizzas from the woodfired pizza oven and great company was the highlight for us. We will definitely be back again. Hopefully Tuppence the dog doesn't miss us too much.

This sweet and elevated workman's cottage, set on a disused farm, is utterly charming and cosy. It's a particularly convenient location if you're looking to venture out into the Border Ranges National park with its vast views and numerous, magical walking tracks. The cottage itself is pretty basic. Perfect for those whom appreciate good old rustic charm, or those looking for a country escape.
As you will be able to tell by the photos, the space is very rustic yet charming. It's definitely a space free of 'bells & whistles', concentrating more on the basics, done well. Just like us it has some bumps and bruises but we love it for that. Please be aware that mobile phone reception is non existent. Say your goodbyes from about 20 minutes away. You can keep in touch with the outside world via the internet (iPhone and messenger etc). However! The big house just at the top of the drive approx. 80m away) does have a landline for emergencies. There is a small television and DVD player (with lots of DVDs to choose from), however, there is no actual TV reception here. There is an HDMI socket at the back of the TV if you'd like to link up your computer to stream via the internet. Please be aware that the internet connection isn't super fast so it can glitch a bit. If the weather is bad, the internet is even more glitchy, so chuck on a dvd and forget about the world! Fire flies!!!! Magical little critters they are!! I've seen them here. Just not all the time. Very mesmerising to watch if you get lucky enough! I've been sure to include the following items as they are must haves: Coffee, Tea, Sugar Mustard & Tomato Sauce Olive Oil Wine vinegar Balsamic Vinegar Salt & Pepper
If you're wanting to see what the Border Ranges National Park has to offer there are plenty of hits on the internet. From peoples drone videos on youtube, to the more thorough 'to do' info via the national parks NSW website. In terms of what is available in the area, there is a sweet little general store in the nearby town of Wiangaree (which is where you turn off the highway). This is approx. 10 minutes away. They have the basics there, bread, milk, beer etc. Nothing fancy. Just the basics. Run by lovely locals. The next nearest town is Kyogle which has a supermarket with all your provisioning needs, again, nothing fancy.
  • Our stay in the cottage exceeded our hopes for a moment away to rest and restore with my partner and I and our pup. We stayed for just under a week in perfect serenity. Quiet and still in beautiful nature, with plenty of places to explore by car or foot nearby. The cottage is full of complimentary essentials making us feel very much at home here. Bring just enough grocery produce to make your time comfortable here as after you arrive you won’t want to leave to the next towns for anything. Cottage is cosy but spacious. Location is quiet but alive. Vibe is soft but feels oh so good. Thank you Jessica to hold this space for all of us! Be back again soon.

    Darcy2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet, rustic accommodation close to the Border Ranges National Park. We enjoyed meeting the owner of the property.

    Christine2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Cute little rustic getaway right outside the scenic Border Ranges. Lovely view and we enjoyed exploring the property. The owner Chang was kind enough to give us a tour of a couple walking tracks nearby. Definitely stock up on food in Kyogle beforehand as there’s really nothing healthy at the local shop. We would recommend this little charmer for anyone wanting to disconnect and explore the beautiful Border Ranges next door.

    Jessica2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • What a charming little cottage, full of personality ! The cottage is well equipped with all you need. Just the place to unwind and enjoy nature. A running creek and lots of exploring was enjoyed by my dog and myself.

  • Such a cosy place, off the beaten track, a great romantic get away!

    Jessica2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Mudbrick cottage, very rustic, was like a step back in time.... with wifi! Great creek for dogs to swim and play.... bring your inflatable raft for ultimate relaxation! The view from the veranda is much bigger and better than the photos.

    Gareth2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is even cutter than the pictures, the fire is toastie warm, and there was a lovely selection of herbal teas! The cottage has everything you need and nothing you don't - just perfect for a get away. We were lucky enough to join Chang and Alfie (the dog) for a lovely walk around the property. We just wish we had an extra day to stay. Thanks so much!

  • This farm stay is beautiful! The house is beautifully set up & has lovely views off the outdoor entertaining area. Our party of 9 had a wonderful weekend here. Steve was always prompt to answer queries. We did have a hiccup with oven & the pool unfortuneatly was out of action, unbeknown to the host. Overall we loved our stay.

  • Barbara and Glynn's cottage is gorgeous. We decided on a last minute mini escape and the cottage's privacy and serenity was perfect for us to unwind. All rooms are beautifully decorated and welcoming. Love the shower gel and hand wash in the ensuite - I still smell devine. We paddled in the pool, and enjoyed a walk through the olive grove. Thanks for a great place to stay.

  • I stayed here with my groomsmen the evening before my wedding. The space was comfortable and perfect. We enjoyed walking through the olive gardens and through a frisbee in the large areas around the house. It was close to township so we could go out for dinner and was easily big enough for 6 guys. Barbara was an excellent host and very helpful and accomodating.

Darlington Grove is a unique one bedroom farm stay experience located in the heart of the Scenic Rim, Lost World Valley. You will be staying in what used to be a functioning milking Dairy Shed. Think of your stay as cottage farm stay meets glamping! The Dairy has been fully renovated and features a beautifully decorated bedroom which has amazing mountain views, an open air kitchen, cottage garden and a rustic but comfortable, detached shower and toilet.
The Dairy is situated on a 100 acre hobby farm that has animals (sheep, chickens, ducks, horses, pigs and cows) an olive grove of 250 trees, and the Albert River flowing through it.
Our farm is located in a prime position to access many of the festivities of the Scenic Rim Food and Wine Festival. The actual street it is located on has several properties involved with the scenic rim food and wine festival. In the area there is also an awesome cooking school, bush walks, hidden water holes, and we are a short and scenic drive from a couple of local cafes that sell local produce from the area. The owners Kate and Sam can fill you in on all the secret and not so secret attractions they have found in the area!!!
  • If you are looking for a tranquil place to just chill, there is no other place than here. Away from the hustle and bustle of city and life itself, this place is the epitome of zen. Book it today!

    Siti2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Sam & Kate's place is amazing! There is so much to explore and do at the farm, the views from the place are amazing and the walks are endless. Our favourite part was the animals, getting to feed them and pat them! There is lots to do on the farm and nearby too so there was never a dull moment. Feels very homey and we were so sad to leave! Thanks again guys :)

    Madeleine2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed my stay here. A picturesque space with lovely personal touches. Gorgeous.

    Rebecca2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • I must admit, when we read there was no internet in the car on the way there, we were a little hesitant 😂 but it was the most incredible thing. Our little boy loved the open spaces, we fed the farm animals, played in the rain, explored the bush, ate in the big open aired kitchen and generally just had a blast. Wonderful hospitality and so nice to escape the city.

    Taleah2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • What can we say except that we will be back for sure! The location is just beautiful along with the actual farm and accommodation. The styling of the bedroom is very welcoming and warm and then the kitchen/chill area is set up beautifully! The kids loved the chores of feeding the animals and letting them out in the morning and especially loved the tree house! With 100acres to play with we went 4x4 explored up the mountains, it was fantastic with an incredible view from the top! We would 100% recommend Darlington Grove! One tip though, do a big food shop in Beaudesert as the closest shops are about 30mins away

    Jenni2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Sam and Kate's farm is just wonderful. A super cosy place with a great crowd of friendly animals around! Can highly recommend! Sam and Kate are exceptional hosts also. They will make sure you have a great time!

    Andreas2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • My five year old son and I were fortunate enough to be the very first guests to stay at this beautiful farm. Everything exceeded our expectations. My little guy fully immersed himself into farm life and thoroughly enjoyed feeding the animals, letting the chickens out of a morning and collecting their eggs,The tree house was his favourite! The decor feels like it’s straight out of country life magazine. The bed is super comfortable with luxurious Sheridan sheets. We cooked our meals in the fully equipped kitchen and enjoyed them on the vintage tractor stools. We are now feeling very blissed out and grateful.

This house sits on elevated slope facing west with lovely views across farming paddocks to the mountains from the expansive decking. Views from inside the house admire the same view. Timber floors with carpet in bedroom, modern functional gas and electric kitchen. Two toilets and two showers, no bath. Satelite tv.
Winter temperatures in the morning drop below zero but gas heating inside the fully insulated home and wood fire on the decking make for cosy and serene surroundings. With tall hedging surrounding a well maintained level grassed area affording you the opportunity to soak in the sun even on windy days, and/or lay back and watch the unpoluted night sky spin past.
Very small village of 10 houses, 1 cafe, 1 phone box, Historic school of arts community hall, rural fire brigade. Walk across the road and soak in the Nerang river. Bush walking in the Numinbah forest reserve. The Natural Bridge is 7 minute drive in the Springbrook National Park. 15km drive to NSW and then onto Chillingham and Murwillumbah or Tyalgum along very scenic country road. Views to west and south towards Beachmont, Binna Burra and Springbrook
  • fantastic place, very peaceful

  • We only stayed for one night but wished we could stay longer, the area is beautiful and we could have sat on the deck sipping coffee for ages. Very clean house and Richard made us more than welcome. Thanks mate!

    Tim2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for one night and experienced the living environment of the Australian countryside. The ecology is very good. The ones that move outside at night are the bigger ones. Although there is no air conditioner, it can open the doors and windows to ventilate, without mosquitoes. We live here, mainly to play on the Natural Bridge. When I went there at 5 o'clock last night, they were all free tourists from the East. When I went this morning, they were all Westerners. Hehe, only the tour group that collects money is blind. This is a good place and highly recommended.

    Tao2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent stay. We loved the great deck area. Very good location for access to Natural Bridge and the glow worm cave. We are looking forward to visiting again in winter to use the fireplace.

The pool was well used during the heat of the day and then being able to sit on the verandah and watch the wildlife at dusk was just beautiful. Every little thing was thought of!

  • We had a really lovely stay, Kyms house is stunning, peaceful and relaxing. We loved all the personal touches, and would highly recommend the anti pasto board, it was delish! Kyms place is in a great location to unwind, and there are beautiful walks close by, as well as being relatively close to Springbrook and Lamington. There is also a friendly dog Alfie to make you feel even more at home. Overall we would recommend Kyms place for other guests and would definitely return.

    Joe2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most beautiful weekend away at Kyms. The place is just stunning, and the extra touches Kym puts in made our stay even more special. The place itself is immaculate, and a lot bigger then it looks in the photos. We had many beautiful areas to sit in and enjoy the rain, and a huge garden to explore when it wasn’t raining. Alfie was also an added bonus. Thank you so much Kym, we will be back.

    Maddison2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place, sparkling clean and well located to explore the surroundings. Kym and her husband are fantastic hosts, they were extremely helpful and friendly. Thank you for your support on our late arrival and give a big hug to Alfie for us😁

  • We had an amazing stay with my partner in the cottage, it absolutely exceeded our expectations. It’s in an amazing location just a short drive from some beautiful waterfalls and national park walks. We were greeted by the friendliest and amazingly trained border collie dog on arrival who was always up to hang around if you wanted some extra company! The cottage itself was beautifully decorated and very worth the price in amazing condition with lots of gorgeous big plants and beautiful decorations. Kitchen was well equipped with everything you’d need for a feast and greeted with some beautiful treats upon arrival. Kym and her partner were very friendly and helpful but we had privacy the whole time. There was also a jacuzzi beside the side which was a great surprise. Beautiful scenery all around the cottage and very private. Took lots of photos around the property it was all picturesque. Had an amazing time and would highly recommend!

    Anne2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Kym's property is beautiful and an amazing place for a weekend getaway. Everything was so well thought of, the little bag of toiletries, a well stocked kitchen, first aid kit, the extra towels, the books and games and the welcome treats were super yummy! We did have a bit of a fire scare but that was only down at lower Beechmont and Kym assured us we had nothing to worry about. The weather was very pleasant during our stay as well. Overall it's a great place to chill out at and reset before you get back to your hectic life. Thanks Kym!

There were so many thoughtful touches such as homemade goods, books and magazines to read, tea, coffee, milk, shower gel etc. I particularly loved waking up to hearing all the birds outside and the fresh country air. The bed was super comfy which was a big plus. Highly reccomended to everyone looking for a quick get away from the city!

  • My partner and I had a sweet escape at the Red Shed. Can’t think of a better place to kick off our holiday. Incredibly stunning views with lovely cows as our neighbours. Fresh breeze through out the day to keep us cool. Words are not enough to describe how wonderful this place is. We spent hours inside the barn just relaxing, chatting and playing games, and also wandering around to explore the valley. The village nearby, Tyalgum, has a great Gelato shop that opens during weekends. Two minutes drive away there is a lookout with spectacular scenery. Too many good memories there. We took lots of photos with great smiles in them. Jen and Darren are caring, thoughtful and simply awesome. We definitely wanna come back in the future.

  • What a magical place, from start to finish Sharon is an amazing host. Highly recommended

    Danielle2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon is very hospitable and friendly, together with her husband they have so many interesting hobbies from growing plants, paintings, tea towels, boulder rocks just to name a few! Be sure to ask them about it. The cottage is clean and cute, and very private, no neighbours and the hosts leave you to your self to relax. The surroundings are spectacular! With mountains surrounding you at every turn. The little creek to swim in is divine and the cows next door are cute. It was a relaxing stay and I definitely will come back!

  • Property was fine for our overnight stay.

    John2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet.. if the Australian country bush ever is. Bird song, cicadas, cows bellowing in the fields around. The cottage has everything you could possibly need for an extended stay. The hosts are amazingly welcoming. Ask about the incredible artwork, tea towels, thunder eggs etc. that these two busy people have as part of their lives. And the property plantings and working nursery are just extraordinary. Well worth a visit and we are looking forward to making time for a revisit.

    Kate2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful 4 nights and found the house and location extremely relaxing. Walking up the fence line to the top of the hill late afternoon is magic as you can see the mountains clearly. Listening to the birds on the balcony was great too. Nice drives around the whole area too with great scenery.
