Murray House Vacation Home meets the high standards set by us, the owners. The house has been completely upgraded in the past 4 years, including fan forced wall heating units Parking is available on site and has ample room for more than one vehicle Entry to the home is via its own private entrance. Upon entering the home, there is a small porch. There are hooks to hang coats in the porch as well as in the walk in closet directly opposite the front door in the porch area. In the closet, there is a shelf and clothes rod, clothes hangers, dehumidifier, and hamper, The closet is divided in two, with the other side containing full sized stackable washer and dryer. Bi-fold doors conceal the closet and laundry area. There is a cupboard in the porch which contains laundry detergents, softeners, bleach, iron, and various games for all age groups A new twin and queen double thickness air mattresses are found on the porch closet shelf Exiting the front porch by French doors, you enter the kitchen area. Within the kitchen are a full sized fridge and stove as well as a counter-top sized microwave and dishwasher. Also, there is a kettle, toaster, Keurig coffee machine with k-cups, instant regular and decaf coffee, knife block with knives, electric can opener, slow cooker, bread maker, casserole dish, salad spinner, air fryer, T-Fal slicer / spinner, storage containers, saran wrap, multiple frying pans and pots of various sizes, small roaster, tin-foil trays, wooden cutting board, strainer, mixer / blender combination appliance, mixing bowls, water dispenser with water bottle / replacement bottles, as well as an ample supply of dishes, cups, glasses, cutlery and utensils (including BBQ utensils). There is a small kitchen table with 4 chairs as well as 2 bar-stool type chairs (which can be set on the L-side of the kitchen counter to allow dining at this area if preferred). We have various spices, salt, pepper, sugar, flour, individual artificial sweeteners / sugar / peanut butter / jam / and butter, onion soup mix, rice, pastas, tea, hot chocolate, French vanilla instant coffee, and many more items routinely stocked. Paper towels are found on the counter in a holder. Kitchen drawers are well stocked with dishcloths, dishtowels, and dish detergents. In the fridge, we stock individual creamers and, on the first day of the visit, 1 dozen eggs, fresh milk, fruit juice, and a loaf of bread. Garbage containers are found in the kitchen and front porch. Various household cleaners are kept in the cupboard under the kitchen sink. There is an outdoor garbage bin in which to dispose full garbage bags There is a corner stand in the kitchen, on which there is a portable stereo system with remote control On the far side of the kitchen there is a closet which contains the boiler, a vacuum cleaner, broom, dust pan, mop, small portable stool, and small counter-top ironing board The kitchen has open concept with the living room. The far side of the living room provides a second exit from the house, through double patio doors (which open onto the back side of the patio). Furnishings in the living room include 2 full sized couches, one of which is a futon which opens into a double sized sleeping surface. The second couch extends to recline position on both ends. There is a cushion-surface bench as well. The 55 inch flat screen TV sits on a fire-place TV stand. We have a vast array of cable TV channels, a Blue Ray player, and also Wii and X-Box 360 game systems with a limited number of games. Two small compact / portable tables can be used as a laptop surface or surfaces on which to eat while watching TV For those colder nights, there is an electric blanket (shoulder to waist size) Stairs leading to the second level of the house have a bookshelf at the base, on which there are a generous supply of activity books for various ages, some books, magazines, coloring book, tourism books, and tourism maps. Atop the bookshelf, there is a document prepared by me depicting some points of interest in Pouch Cove, St. John's, and surrounding areas. Web-based search detail supplements that provided by me. The list is not all-inclusive but meant to help generate interest and awareness. Also atop the shelf are high powered binoculars with which to enhance vision of nature's treats in the ocean and on land ! At the top of the stairs, the master bedroom is the first room encountered. This room has a queen sized bed with fresh linen and 4 pillows, small dresser on which sits an alarm clock and table lamp, 47 inch flat screened TV on an electric fireplace TV stand, and a small table on which sits a large artificial flower display in a large vase. As you face the back wall of the room, there is a stand-alone sink on which is stocked liquid as well as solid hand soaps, hand lotion, facial wash, cleansing wipes, shaving cream, toothpaste, and body spray. On the rod to its left, we supply towel, facecloth and a hairdryer. Behind the sink, there is a closet with clothes rods on both sides and on which are adequate supply of clothes hangers. On the shelf over the rod on the right are extra supply of bed linens (mattress pad, winter and summer sheets). There are an electric fan in the closet Exiting the master bedroom, there is a well-stocked linen closet to the right. In this closet, there are extra pillows, pillow protectors, pillow cases, blankets, bed spreads, shoulder throws, extra sheets, extra mattress pads and mattress protectors, towels of various sizes, an abundance of face cloths, and a small stool To the right of the linen closet is the bathroom. The bathroom has a whirlpool tub and shower, new toilet, an over-toilet shelf (on which there are various facecloths, scrunchies, mouthwash / disposable small glasses, facial wash, Epsom salts, etc). The medicine cabinet over the single sink holds various medical supplies (bandaids, peroxide, rubbing alcohol, tylenol, and tums) as well as dental floss, toothbrushes, disposable razors, cotton balls, baby oil, etc). On the bathtub wall unit, there are shampoos, conditioners, bubble baths, and body wash. Under the bathroom sink, in the cupboard, there is extra toilet tissue, cleaners, extra shampoos, conditioners, body wash, and spare kitchen garbage bags for the compact, lidded, garbage container The last room upstairs, just to the right of the bathroom, is the second bedroom and holds a double bed on which is fresh linen and 4 pillows, a small dresser, a small bedside table, alarm clock, and an electric fireplace (used chiefly to provide a stable unit on which to hold the 47 inch flat screen TV). There is a small open concept closet with rod / shelf at the left side of the room. Two windows provide a spectacular view of the ocean and surrounding neighborhood Returning downstairs, we exit the house through the patio doors to gain entry to the oversized patio. There are various furnishings on the back patio, including a patio swing, a child patio swing, a 2 seater glider, a 4-seater patio table with umbrella, and a children's plastic stool. A fence divides the vacation home patio from the main house's patio. Overlooking the back patio, there is a large back yard with mature trees providing privacy and shelter in season. A chestnut tree, in fact, extends its branches onto the deck of the vacation home, providing the most beautiful photo op imaginable. There is an exit point off the back patio via a side gate, which is latched and on which there is a lock (key is on the main key ring provided at time of arrival to the home). A new 4 burner BBQ sits waiting to fire up a hearty meal while you sit and listen to the waves crash the ocean's shores and the call of Mother Nature's creatures A gate opens onto the side patio, one step up from the back patio. This side patio is extremely private and is hidden from the main home. Mature trees shelter from the view of neighbors (both of whom live more than 200 feet away). There are no neighbors in front of the side patio and the view is that of the side garden, a small cliff, and, to the left, the ocean. On the other side of the side patio, a gate (again locked) exits and faces the front entrance The vacation home is our pride and we wish to share it with you, as YOU deserve to capture this piece of paradise. There are various activities and points of interest for all in Pouch Cove (hiking, relaxation, family time at marine park, bird watching, iceberg watching, ocean viewing with hopes of glimpsing a whale / seal etc). Within St. John's, a mere 25 minute drive from the vacation home, be sure to check out Signal Hill, Fluvarium, Quidi Vidi, Geo Center, Railway Coastal museum, The Rooms, Cape Spear, Botanical Garden, and War Memorial to name a few

I stayed here for one night with my partner and 2 teenagers. The place was PERFECT. My only regret was not staying longer. I only had 3 nights in St. John's and booked this for the first night. The last night I booked a place right in downtown St. John's and I WISHED I wasn't locked into it so I could come back to Sandra's place for the last night instead (middle night was down in Bay Bulls for the iceberg/bird boat tour). This place exceeded all my expectations and really Sandra went SO above and beyond. The correspondence with her was quick and easy. The place is so easy to get to and only 15 mins from the airport .. like I said, if I ever come back I will defn stay here instead of in the city. The view was spectacular (we had an iceberg right in front of our deck). The sunrise comes up right from the deck, you don't even have to go outside or stretch your neck to see it, you can stay warm inside the huge glass patio door and see everything, OR sit out on the beautiful deck. Sandra greeted us with a platter of homemade cookies and muffins! And she had everything there we could possibly need from a stocked cupboard of food (like TONS of food .. bread, milk, chips, pancake mix I could go on and on .. we didn't use any because we weren't there very long and I felt like I was getting SUCH a good deal I felt bad to take the food too lol) to every imaginable gadget you could need . She even had new toothbrushes and loofahs if we needed them! And a sewing kit! She had a big pair of binoculars that we could use which was great as we went for a lovely walk by the rocks and water and put them to good use. The place exceeds the pictures posted .. and it's usually the other way around with these things (like my place in St. John's .. the pictures were MUCH better than the actual place and I just kept thinking of Sandra's beautiful spot .. and I literally paid double what I did at Sandra's for that place in St. John's)! First off there is a huge LCD TV in the living room with a wii console and a bunch of games (and the TV has satellite and cable and the wifi there is REALLY strong! Which is unusual for the area) and then there are 2 bedrooms and each bedroom also comes with a huge brand new LCD TV! The beds are so comfy and there is every type of pillow and blanket you could need. Sandra even has an electric blanket which was so nice to cuddle up on the couch with and look outside at the spectacular scenery. I haven't used one of those in years and forgot how magical they are! :) The place is...

This was by far the best air bnb I have ever stayed at. The location is great; we saw ice bergs from the back deck. And the house is beautiful. Sandra and Phil are incredibly well organized, professional, and overall warm and hospitable people. They made us feel very welcome and went above and beyond to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We were extremely impressed with everything and would recommend it to anyone!

Sandra and Phil were amazing hosts and their home was all you could ask for when it comes to a rental. Amazing ocean views, incredibly clean and well kept, every amenity you might need. They even had the fridge, cupboards, bathroom, and bedroom stocked with snacks, food, coffee, soaps, towels, tooth paste, you name it. You probably won't find better people to rent from!!

A perfect, quiet place for your summer retreat. You can hike the East Coast trail, visit local art studios, watch whales or icebergs, sunrises and sunsets from the deck. Yoga studio in the house is available for your use. Alternately, you can book lessons with the host. And if all of this is not enough it is only 30 min. drive to the city of St. John's with restaurants and pubs, art galleries, festivals, museums, shopping and much more.

Reservations are now being taken for the summer of 2017: June - September. Are you yearning for total peace and quiet, away from the hustle and bustle of the big city? Then this is an ideal place for you. Though you are just a stone throw from the main road you will not hear a sound except of surf crashing on the rocks, wind, and sea gulls. In season you can watch whales and sunrise from the deck, pick up berries behind the house, or venture on a hike on East Coast trail directly from the front door. The house is located on the cliff overlooking the ocean in the town of Pouch Cove. Main road connects the town with the airport (25 min drive) and the city of St. John's (35 min. drive). East Coast hiking Trail passes through town and nearby the house. There are flexible rental options: - Whole house with three separate bedrooms accommodates either 3 couples or 6 individuals. Large kitchen and a full bath are on the main floor. A second full bath is made available on the lower floor. - Sunrise Room is a large (260square feet) bed/sitter, with a private entrance from the large deck. This room has a queen size bed with the ocean view and dining and sitting area. Additional single bed is used as a couch. Large, sit-in kitchen is shared with the host kitchen. - Small bedroom across from the bathroom has a bunk bed with double bed on the bottom and single on the top. Town of Pouch Cove is a picturesque former fishing village with beautiful scenery and many walking and hiking options. It's motto is "First to see the Sun". Sun and Moon rises from the sea are truly spectacular. It is a favorite place with artists and several make their home there. The last weekend in August they open their studios for public visit.

My family and I had a wonderful time staying at Milena’s house in Pouch Cove. Milena was very quick to respond to my questions and provided us with helpful information about the area. Her house was beautiful and clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. I really enjoyed being able to look out the windows and see the ocean. The location was great - close enough to St John’s to do all our grocery shopping, but far enough away that we felt like we were in the country. I’d very happily recommend Milena’s house to other travellers.

We had a lovely stay at Milena's cottage. She is a very resourceful and easy going host who gave us a lot of information on what to do where to eat etc. The location of the cottage is great - an easy drive to St John's and many attractions. Pouch Cove is a quiet little town with a great view of the Atlantic. The cottage is very cozy and well equipped, especially for families and has a great ocean view from the deck. Overall I would highly recommend staying in Otter Gulch House if you are looking for a quiet and family friendly place to stay close to St John's.

Staying with Milena in Pouch Cove for two weeks was very enjoyable. Her house was nestled close to the sea and we had a magnificent and breathtaking view of the bay. Gorgeous Ocean front views! Enjoy watching the whales, sea birds and icebergs from large decks on the back of the house. A million dollar view!! Three bedrooms with Queen Size beds and three full bathrooms. Located in a small outport town but minutes to St. John's and within one hour of all the must see sites.

The East Coast Trail is right behind the house on the Ocean's Edge. Even the novice Hiker will enjoy a short walk from the house to a grassy knoll, perfect for a sunny afternoon picnic. The experienced Hiker will continue on to Cape St. Francis or Flat Rock and back. You can also go for a little walk to the Pouch Cove General Store, library or church.

A quiet little outport village with a lot of history. Drop in to the Pouch Cove Museum, Library and Post Office to learn a little about the community. The girls that work there are full of information.

The house is comfortable and welcoming, with a gorgeous view of Pouch Cove. We visited in April (crazy, right?) and were rewarded with fantastic views of sea ice and icebergs from the back windows. The East Coast Trail is easily accessible from the house, and we took advantage of hiking along the stunning coastline. The drive into St. John's is quick and easy, so when the weather wasn't perfect we went to the city museums. The house is on the main road in Pouch Cove and within easy walking distance to town. The upshot: it's a great location whether you want to enjoy the outdoors or the local culture. Betty was a wonderful host and a pleasure to deal with. She responded quickly to our inquiries and offered advice for enjoying the Pouch Cove region.

John's. we have a number of different sections of the hiking trail within our community. Our house has all you need except groceries. The ocean front cottage is located in Pouch Cove, a 20 minute drive from St. John's. If you are a hiker, then you will find the world class East Coast Trail on the doorstep of the cottage. If you are a writer or an artist, then you'll join a long list of visitors who have used the cottage as a studio. Or, if you want a hideout from the weight of everyday life, then it is a great escape. The cottage is smoke and pet free.

The cottage is the last of the old fishing premises in Pouch Cove. It initially housed a cod liver oil enterprise and was known as "The Factory." Later it was used to store salt and fishing gear and when the fishery was closed in 1992 is began to fall into disrepair. We purchased the Factory several years ago, rebuilt it, and began renting it to recover our costs. Initially we powered the cottage with a wind generator, relied on propane for heat, and a dug well for water. Today the cottage is connected to the provincial hydro grid and tied it into the municipal water system.

Pouch Cove is a coastal community of about 2,000 people. Even though Pouch Cove is being drawn into the urban economy of metropolitan St. John's it still retains its rural character. Its history as a fishing community is on display in the museum at the Town Hall.

We spent three nights at Roger and Deanne 's cottage early in September . It was a great first experience with airbnb. Deanne and Roger welcomed us at the cottage and provided lots of local information and history. We were awed by the sea views from the cottage and the relaxing atmosphere. We wished we could have stayed longer to better appreciate the spacious sitting and dining area and deck with unobstructed views out to the ocean. It's a quiet location with direct access to the East Coast Trail just beyond the cottage frontage. Roger and Deanne treated us to true Newfoundland hospitality...great hosts.

James was a great host. He kindly promised me that he would pick me at the airport, which then was changed as my friend picked me and drop at James's place. He welcomed us at a very early morning (4.30 AM). MJ was a perfect host. He provided a late check in . If your on route from the airport, It's a perfect layover stay. I didn't have time to explore the area, but it seems MJ's place is located to many other amenities you may need when visiting St John's! Happy stay, highly recommend.

Welcome to our page! Our place is close to Downtown (15 min by bus, 3.5 km) and Memorial University (20 min by bus, 3 km). We have a bus stop at 15 sec and a supermarket/drugstore at 2 min! You’ll love our place because of the coziness of the place - you will feel at home - and of services available to you including a computer and scanner available for free. Our two bedroom suite has a double-bed in each room, a bathroom with all amenities and full laundry services. We have a fully equipped kitchen, living room with 42" LCD TV an electric fireplace, propane BBQ, high speed internet Netflix and your own private entrance and driveway. We are located minutes from Stavanger Drive shopping area, the Avalon Mall, Hospitals and historic downtown St . John's.

He was awesome!! We knew he was around if we needed him, but did not interfere with our relaxation time :) would defiantly stay again!

We have a spacious and tree-lined back yard with a small island deck which you are welcome to use.

The neighbourhood is clean and quiet and very conveniently located. It is very walkable (fairly flat with sidewalks and lovely walking trails). There are convenience stores, a grocery store and take-outs (Tim Horton's, Dairy Queen etc.) within 1 km. There are other restaurants and another grocery store within less than 2 km.

This place was beautiful. Host was excellent and quick to reply to any questions. It is less then a 10 minute drive to downtown and also close to the airport. I would definitely stay here again.

My mother and I stayed here for one night while we visited St John's. This apartment is perfect! Everything is very clean and organized. The bed is so comfortable and the decor is very tasteful. Janet and Scott are lovely people and were great hosts. I would recommend this airbnb to anyone!

The location was exactly as pictured. Quiet, clean, comfortable and relaxing . All amenities were carefully thought out and provided. Hosts were on hand to help out and communicate with during our stay. We felt at home.

This was a wonderful place to stay and Janet and Scott did everything to make the stay very enjoyable. I love the location, real close to the airport and most of the must see attractions in St John's. This is a definite favorite place to stay.

Janet's place was immaculate. It was so clean, comfortable, and accommodating. It is about an 8 minute drive to downtown which was also very convenient. Janet provides a binder that walks you through any questions you may have about the apartment, and she's easy to get a hold of. Overall, I am incredibly satisfied with my stay, and in my future trips to St. John's, I would most definitely stay here.

Our stay at Janet's was better than expected. Although a basement apartment, it's recently renovated and large windows made it feel otherwise. It has a private and separate entrance through the garden at the back with a convenient keyless entry system that Janet prepared us for in advance . It was very clean, nicely decorated and with all the amenities. We were greeted with beer and juices in the frig and wine of our choice. Although breakfast is not included a full kitchen is and with a food shop we were able to eat as and when we liked. Our hosts were very accommodating with their time and suggestions and left us with many information pamphlets for our taking. Our needs were sufficed and then some. This unit is in a lovely neighbourhood although not walking distance to downtown St. John's, it was only minutes by car and conveniently close to the airport as well. We had a most pleasurable experience.

Come relax at our place! It is only 5 minutes from the airport. Lovely parks, the Health Sciences Centre, Downtown St. John's, and a selection of restaurants are a short drive away. You’ll love our place because of the serene and homey atmosphere, the kitchen with convection oven, dishwasher and a fridge with built-in ice maker and water filtration system. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. Complementary airport pickup and drop-off based on availability.

Cosy main level bedroom. Electric baseboard heating with own thermostat. Ample closet and drawer space (not shared) Private bathroom (not shared) equipped with hair dryer, deluxe white towels, as well as toothpaste and body wash. Guests also have access to a half bathroom on the lower level. Guests have shared access to a large deck off the kitchen which affords a lovely woodland view in the backyard. Each guest has a private cupboard space in our large kitchen as well as a shelf in the fridge and freezer.

Airport Heights is very clean and quiet. It is a residential neighbourhood with schools, playgrounds and convenience stores.

Akime and Latoya's place was quite nice. Latoya and Akime welcomed me to their house and hearts. I can't say enough good things for their being excellent hosts. Their house was a beautiful little sanctuary for me after having completed a super stressful work assignment and they made my stay very comfortable. They are both amazing human beings. Keep it up guys.
