The Old Bakery is set in the heart of the beautiful South Downs National Park. It is a detached traditional oak framed building surrounded by ancient woodland with stunning scenery, walks and country pubs on the doorstep. An hour’s drive from central LONDON with the peace and quiet of a country setting. There is a flat above the Old Bakery. Both floors have their own private entrance.
You'll enjoy 60m2 of space across two generous rooms with modern shower, separate toilet and dressing room. The Old Bakery has a small Kitchenette area with complimentary teas, coffees, sugar and milk. The kitchenette has a small fridge, microwave, kettle and coffee machine. • Natacha was a fantastic host. It is such a beautiful barn, in a stunning location with lots of things to do. It was immaculately clean and bed was so comfortable. We loved our two night stay here and would definitely come again and have recommended it to friends and family already!

    Rebecca2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice comfortable place, location was perfect for us as it’s very safe there. Big gates that secure the ground. The Shower is probably one of the best I’ve seen in an Airbnb. host was really nice as well. Can’t fault this place one bit. 5 star

    Kev2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • It's a wonderful place. Really enjoyed stay at Old Bakery and definitely will get back in the future.

  • Natacha is the kindest, loveliest host you could meet. She is so welcoming, friendly and kind. From the minute I booked, she made the whole process so easy and recommended some lovely places to eat and visit. (I highly recommend Noa's Ark pub near Petworth) The barn is absolutely immaculate and so stylish. The bed was incredibly comfortable too so we slept very well. The attention to detail in every area of the barn was amazing from the beautiful fresh flowers, to the lovely fresh bed linen. It is just stunning everywhere you look. I cannot wait to visit again and will miss my daily view of the trees.

    Em2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Natacha was an absolutely excellent host. The barn conversion was incredibly stylish and it had everything you could have needed for a short stay. Would most certainly recommend to a friend looking for an idyllic weekend away.

  • I had a great experience staying with Pete and Kate. They made it an easy experience and I received a warm welcome. I would stay again if needed in the future.

    Ellie2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • I received a warm welcome from Pete and Kate who managed just the right balance of being both attentive and laid back hosts! The room and facilities were just what I needed whilst attending a 3 day intensive event nearby. I will definitely return if the opportunity arises :)

    Shelagh2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Pete and Kate are very welcoming, friendly and accomodating. I really enjoy staying with them.

    Sonya2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • The room and house that the room is in, is absolutely wonderful! Pete and Kate are excellent hosts, very considerate and accommodating. Very knowledgeable, Pete and Kate always had insights for every need - where to go for a night out, good places to hike, etc. The room itself is wonderful and homey, with all things necessary to meet simple pleasure in life, e.g. an electric kettle for coffee/tea in bed. The proximity to great hikes and beautiful walks is an added bonus, as there are a surprising amount of redwoods in the area! For nature enthusiasts/ecologists/artists looking for inspiration, this is a great spot to see many ecological wonders and the joy of nature! Many amenities are in easy walking distance - not more than a 20 minute walk to the local Tesco, a wonderful cafe (the Lion's Den), and a few pubs. If you're looking for a rustic stay, some peace and quite from the bustle of the city, or in town for a wedding, this is the perfect spot to stay!

  • Pete and Kate were the perfect hosts. A real home from home and they even provided cereals and toast for breakfast. Much appreciated. I wouldn't hesitate to come back again.

  • We’ve enjoyed our 1-night stay at Pete and Kate’s place. Everyhting from check in to check out was smoothless and it’s a grate value for money. They both are very kind and ready to help with you needs ie early check in / late check out etc.

    Mehmet2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect a warm welcome at Brookside. It's a comfortable bedroom at the back of the house away from the road so is nice and quiet. The room looks out onto a lovely garden with brook..hence Brookside! I didn't stay for breakfast, though it was offered, as I'd been invited out. Pete kindly took me to the venue. A big thanks.

    Fran2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Pete and Kate's place for a weekend while attending a course. They were very warm and welcoming hosts, Pete even collected me from the train station the night I arrived! The room is exactly as pictured, bed was very comfortable and there were tea/coffee facilities and a TV in my bedroom and I was able to use the kitchen to make dinner every night. Lovely stay and would not hesitate to recommend. Thank you

  • We had a wonderful weekend at the piggery. Gemma and her family are super friendly and helpful. The place is in a great location - with lots of places to walk and eat within easy reach. The accommodation is bright, spacious and has everything you need - even with a dog and baby in tow. I would highly recommend a stay here and will be back.

    Hannah2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place and perfect sorroundings, quiet and well kept place. I am sure when the weather is great this is even a better location (unfortunately we had gust wind and rain practically the whole time we stayed) but having a nice, warm and dry place to stay made Gemma's place even more attractive!

    Carlos2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at the Piggery. The space itself is very clean and comfortable and you can tell a lot of thought has been put into ensuring guests have the best possible stay. I would highly recommend the Piggery for anyone looking to explore the local area.

    Michelle2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • We really had the best time here! The Piggery has lots of thoughtful touches which is so thoughtful and refreshing. We arrived to the sound of music which was left on for us - I loved this so much. The property was absolutely impeccable. It was spotless, warm and inviting. Everything mentioned on the listing was there and everything worked fine. Gemma was responsive, the instructions received were clear and the information provided was great. The taxi service worked very well and the forest trail and pub Gemma suggested were great fun and just as described! We would be sure to return if possible :)

The Studio is a wonderful, peaceful little hideaway, the countryside views are simply stunning. Its private, clean, comfortable and quiet. A short walk from one of the best pubs in the UK (The Duke of Cumberland at Henley ***booking is advised especially at weekends****) and 2 miles from Midhurst.
The Studio at Verdley is a delightful hidden get away. Situated on top of Henley Hill it boasts stunning views and a long private driveway with electric gates to access. It stands on its own with a private entrance, accessed via a shared (with the main house and the 2 bed cottage (also for rental) car parking area. From the car parking area there are 3 brick steps and a gravel pathway leading to the private terrace. The studio doors open straight into the cute country style bedroom, where there is a standard double bed, kitchenette to one side and very small shower room with a loo the other side. There is no space for a basin in the shower room but there is a sink and mirror in the kitchenette. We furnish the kitchen with a microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge and all cutlery, crockery and glassware. Tea and coffee, milk, butter and jam will be provided. There is no indoor dining area, if the weather is nice the terrace has a table and four chairs. If it's not so warm there are many great eateries a short car drive away and I'd be happy to point you in the right direction! The wifi is not included as coverage isn't great on top of the hill, however if it will reach your device I'll gladly provide the code, 3g and 4g work quite well. There is a TV (with freeview) and dvd player and a selection of DVDs in the room which guests are welcome to use. If required I can provide a travel cot for a baby/toddler, there is room in the bedroom (just!) The charming little property is hidden away, very quiet and peaceful in a beautiful part of West Sussex. Ideally situated a mile and a half from Cowdray Park polo club, approx. 10 miles from Goodwood and 2 miles from Midhurst.
Within walking distance, or a very quick drive there is the local pub the Duke of Cumberland in Henley, Cowdray park clay shooting school, Cowdray polo lessons at Madams farm, The Banyan Indian restaurant (superb but booking advised) and many other fabulous country pubs!

This garden room has been converted from a shed in our garden. It is quiet and secluded, by a soothing stream with a lovely outlook into the garden, with space for a bed settee and a table. The garden itself provides more space in good weather. An easy walk to the main house gives access to the kitchen, cloakroom and dining room (with a TV) . The garden room does have its own TV and WiFi. A shower is available by arrangement with the hosts. Parking is possible by the room.
  • Just returned from a lovely stay with Pete and Kate in the garden room. It was me and my two young boys age 3 and 5. We are between homes so needed somewhere to stay. We stayed there 4 nights and it was a lovely warm cosy room with heating, electricity and tv plus facilities to make coffee. Pete and Kate were so welcoming and we were able to use the bathroom and shower in doors. Boys also has a great time making a den the garden!

    kim2019-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy little place to stay with friendly hosts and in a convenient location!

    Andrew2019-10-13T00:00:00Z

A beautiful original Granary on a small farm just outside Petworth is now a welcoming double studio with en suite bathroom, perfectly located for a couple or single person wanting to get away from it all within an hour's drive of London. It has a super king size bed, en suite bathroom, a well-equipped modern kitchenette (with fridge/freezer, sink, induction hob, toaster & kettle) and French doors onto a pretty balcony where you can sit and enjoy a sundowner overlooking the beautiful countryside.
The Granary is quiet, private and very comfortable with beautiful rural views.
Petworth is a quintessential English country market town only one mile away. What makes the Granary unique is its quietness and privacy. Perfect for anyone who just needs to de-stress from urban life or self-isolate with total peace of mind.
  • We stayed in Kevin’s larger cottage back in October and wanted a weekend away from London this weekend. The smaller cottage is just as lovely, such wonderful decor and so peaceful. A wonderful setting and the local town of Petworth is a great spot for traditional English countryside. Would HIGHLY recommend!

    Morgan2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in the Granary. Kevin and Claire accommodated us at very short notice which was very kind of them. The place was very clean, beautifully furnished with stunning views. It was much bigger than the pictures make it look which was a bonus! The heating was great, especially on the chillier evenings. You definitely need a car to stay here - it’s 40 minute ish walk to Petworth - but if you’re looking for a remote getaway as we were then it is ideal. The one small negative is that the shower never made it past luke-warm at best, despite putting it past the safety catch. Not a problem in the Spring/Summer months but might be a problem in the Winter. We loved our stay and we would most definitely come again.

    Natasha2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy and exactly what we had hoped for. Would definitely go back.

    Sarah2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Set well off the beaten track in deepest Sussex, the Granary is one of the best places I have ever stayed in. Despite the filthy weather, the puppy and I had a great time. Glorious views across green fields, a beautifully decorated space and a huge, comfortable bed, make future stays inevitable.

    Emma2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A lot more spacious than the photos made out!

    Cesare2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We read all the reviews for this property and had high expectations. Everyone is right, it is really a beautiful, clean and spacious property. The countryside around is truly peaceful and as recommended by other guests, we walked to 'The Stag' pub in Balls Cross which is an easy 1-hour walk via small farm roads. The Granary was immaculate and such a great space to live in for a couple of days. There is a small (but amazing) hob which we used to cook ourselves meals and breakfast with the eggs, butter, and bread left for us by the hosts! I would highly recommend this place to anyone, especially those who want a quiet getaway to the countryside, away from city life.

    Emma2020-02-09T00:00:00Z

  • Gorgeous property in idyllic surroundings. Easy to find and beautiful views. Peace and quiet, you wake up to birds every morning and nothing else. Comfortable and cosy space, every basic available (salt, pepper, oil, shower gel, shampoo etc-washing machine with 3in1 tablets an added bonus) plenty of space. Can’t fault it. We will definitely be back, would love to spend a bit more time exploring the area.

  • The location is beautiful and outstanding. The facilities are superb. This is not a place to stay if you want to cook cordon blue meals. However, if you are happy with microwave meals and avail yourself of the excellent food in pubs around Petworth then this is the place for you.

    Bernadette2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was excellent, it’s a beautiful location not to far from a Petworth town. Lived the underfloor heating!

  • This was such a great stay, perfect for my workshop at Cowdray as it is only a 10 minute walk away. It was easy to buy food at the M&S in BP garage 5 mins away, which saved time shopping. The room is lovely, facilities just right and the house is charming, Rebecca is a great host.

  • Rebecca is a fantastic host who made us feel very welcomed from the start. The property is quietly tucked away but also very close to amenities and transport links. The room and entire property was clean and tastefully decorated. Although the weather was not on our side the weekend we stayed there are many local walks trails and other nearby villages. On one particular rainy day we stayed in most of the day but Rebecca ensured we were entertained! Would highly recommend.

  • Second stay with Sallie Anne and couldn't fault it. Just as spotlessly clean & comfy as my first visit.

    Karen2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Loved my stay in Lodsworth. Beautiful village, very quiet location. Check in was quick and Sallie Anne was very friendly and showed me into the room. Room was as described, very clean and had a modern feel & look. Free Wi-Fi was included which is much needed in the country as the phone signal was non-existent in the area. Would definitely return.

Our Shepherd's hut is set amongst 30 acres of unspoilt mixed woodland and paddocks, just on the edge of the South Downs national park and yet also moments away from Haslemere's lovely shops, restaurants and cafes. The hut is fully insulated and has central heating so is suitable for year round use. You will have privacy and your own space, and although our family home is on the same site, it is nearly 200 metres away . We are on site and will be at hand if you need anything.
Our brand new shepherds hut has recently been built to a high specification. It is a good sized hut with a kingsized bed, kitchenette and en-suite bathroom with a good sized shower. It is well insulated, with central heating, and is fully serviced so will be comfortable year round. The hut is situated out of sight of our main residence in a secluded position. Due to the bad winter weather the parking is available on the large tarmac area by our garaging & stabling, but from spring and summer it will have its own private space very close by. We have 30 acres of fields and woodland and guests are welcome to explore and we have some amazing walks nearby as are within easy reach of Black Down, Devils Punchbowl (Hindhead) We have lots of animals and you are welcome to collect fresh eggs from the chickens in the morning. Just ask and we will direct you.
The great thing about our location is that you can have the best of both worlds- peace & quiet surrounded by woodland, yet shops and restaurants are only a 10 minute walk away (3 min drive if you're feeling really lazy)
  • This was a truley wonderful little gem of a place...Vicky the host was amazing withbthe little extras she left for us of milk, bread and eggs..the hut was everything and more....could not fault it at all from the location to the actual shepards hut..cosy,romantic and warm...I would definatly come back to explore more..and I I'll be telling my freinds all about it!!

    Clare2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful and relaxing stay. Highly recommend, the hut is absolutely lovely.

    Rosie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, can't think of anything that would improve this Shepherds Hut! It had everything I could possibly need. Would definitely book again if in the area.

    Tony2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • I would totally recommend this. My husband and I had a much needed night away to relax and top up on parenting tokens. This was a lovely peaceful location with stunning walks just a stones throw away. You will not be disappointed.

    Gladys2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Vicky's shepherd's hut is an absolute joy. It is equipped beautifully with everything you need - all designed so cleverly that is feels genuinely spacious inside. It might look like a shepherd's hut from the outside, but step through the door and it's a real little home from home! The location is truly private and the woodland birdsong blissful. Tip : for any vegan guests "Hemingway's" on the High Street is a revelation, the choice is phenomenal

Set in the South Downs National Park, on a quiet farm, this cosy self built shepherd, surrounded by birch trees and horse fields, is a peaceful spot for a romantic getaway. Impressive views of the south downs from the accommodation makes this a stunning setting, with plenty of gorgeous woodland walks close by, as well as links to the South Downs Way.
This self built Shepherd hut is built with a lot more space then your average traditional shepherd hut. It has a king size bed to climb up to, with a living space underneath equipped with a sofa bed and a table where you can sit back and relax and have a drink whilst looking at the views of the South Downs. There is a small kitchen space with a wood burner and x2 benches either side of the room with storage space underneath. The interior is furnished with its own unique wooden rustic style and quirky lighting, It is also well insulated and can be kept warm over winter with the wood burning stove on. There is a compost toilet 30 meters from the shepherd hut, you will have access to another bathroom with shower and flushing toilet in the main house, which although shared, is not the main bathroom for the house and is very rarely used by others. This is approximately 30 metres from the shepherds hut. A small basic kitchenette area is provided in the shepherds hut with a single gas burner, fresh drinking water, a kettle, cooking pot, frying pan, plates, bowls, cutlery tea, coffee and sugar available. There is also a small campfire outside next to the shep hut with a fire bowl and grill to cook food on also fire wood and kindling is provided. • Lovely shepherds hut, full of character and thoughtful personal touches. We really enjoyed our stay.

    Gennie2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Emma’s Shepherds Hut is a perfect nature getaway spot. We had a great stay overnight and really enjoyed all aspects of it. It is not your normal stay as there are not the usual amenities (electricity, mains water) but if you are looking to get away from normal life and slow things down - this place is perfect. We went for a beautiful walk in the forest near the hut, and enjoyed cooking over an open fire in the evening. The hut has a log burner for heating and it heats the space up very effectively and very quickly. The ponies and chickens in the field close by were also delightful! I also particularly liked the composting toilet- really clean and well constructed. There is also a regular toilet and shower available for those who don't want to use the composting one. Overall - it was wonderful so thank you Emma!

We arrived on a Monday after a very long walk, no pubs in the village were serving food that evening, so we were really grateful for the microwave and other bits that are included in the room. The shower was also lovely after a long day on the South Downs. Thanks Jan :)

We have a lovely double room available for you in a quiet country cottage, just half a mile south of Haslemere town centre. Your room has a double bed (at an additional cost of £15 for 2nd person). A basic help yourself breakfast can be provided with cereal, toast, coffee, tea etc. You will have use of our lovely private garden, which is pretty much secluded and great for relaxing and enjoying the sun! We are located just half a mile from Haslemere. In Haslemere you will find all amenities necessary for a great stay. There are shops, supermarkets, cafes, restaurants and bars. Here you can also catch the very regular train service that runs to Central London, and takes approximately an hour. Other local attractions include Blackdown, a local beauty spot, and the highest hill in Surrey, standing at 280m, or 919 feet and providing stunning views over the surrounding countryside. Blackdown also has strong literary associations with the poet Alfred, Lord Tennyson. We are also just a 40 minute drive to Jane Austen's house, where she spent the last years of her life and did a lot of her writing.
  • I would say its the best place I ever stayed over airbnb or any other platform. You will feel like your own home. I stayed over 14 nights there, not even a single time I had any issue. with the stay or landlord. Good thing is that someone will be at home always but they dont interfere your privacy. If you need anything, you can approach them. Leonie and her family is very kind and friendly. I highly recommend this place.! Shirin

  • Leonie was a great host, very welcoming and friendly. Would recomend anyone needing a place to stay in or around Haslemere to stay here!

    Hamish2012-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommended. The hosts are a very lovely couple and the stay was super-easy to organise since Leonie is so communicative by email. The location is superb - deadly quiet with access within a few minutes to some absolutely stunning landscape and walking. All in all a great place to stay and I cannot think of anything to say that is not entirely positive.

  • A real gem of a place; quiet, spotless and great location. Quality bedding, bathroom products and the breakfast extras enhance the overall feel of what is a lovely peaceful and private apartment. Mari kept in touch and responded promptly with a warm and friendly tone which is always reassuring. Easy check-in, generous stack of wood and stock-cupboard essentials were appreciated too. Weather was appalling which meant the cosy fireside was even more appealing. Already planning an autumn return trip! Thank you!

  • Pictures don't do the place justice. Quality fixtures and fittings, spotlessly clean, perfect welcome hamper and quality toiletries. Perfect place for a secluded private luxury break. HIGHLY recommended.

  • Fabulous cottage. Sparkling clean, and lots of extra touches to make the stay memorable. We will return again!

  • A lovely, large, welcoming space. Perfect for two nights away, and we wish we could have stayed longer! We loved the woodburner and the breakfast items, and the array of lovely natural shower gels and shampoos left for our use. Brilliant to wake up to the birds singing, and it's a really peaceful place. Lovely walks / pubs / eateries nearby too. Mari was a lovely host and was brilliant at communicating. Thanks so much!

  • A beautifully calm space with plenty of comforting touches. Log burner, coffee machine and a super comfortable large bed. A perfect retreat for cheering up the gloomy month of January.

A bright room in Victorian house. Very quiet and close to woods for walking. Summer in Midhurst has a lot to offer, with polo at Cowdray Park and all the exciting days at Goodwood. Good dogs welcome! Smoking allowed in living room or garden.
Large double room in Victorian house. Own shower room. Parking is very secure with electric gates, so an expensive car should be quite safe. Well behaved dogs are welcome. I can provide a basic breakfast, continental for small extra charge. Also an evening meal if desperate.
Very pretty, quiet part of Midhurst. Safe. Near a small park and woods for dog walking.
  • Very very comfortable bed Great shower Amazing location - it was fantastic being able to run or walk from the door step. There nearby woods/ forest was brilliant for dog walks Gilly s communication was excellent and she was very thoughtful and looked for ways to help our stay be even better

  • Gillian was a great host, very generous with her time and beautiful flat. She even offered to pick me up from the local train station when I was stranded. An excellent place to stay.

  • Great stay at Gillians home, very clean and comfortable and Gillian was a great host.

    Matthew2019-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Gillian is the perfect host. She came out In her road to guide me in. House is truly lovely and comfortable. Sky TV was a bonus that I was not expecting. Gillian goes out of her way to make your stay a wonderful one. Private parking off street was great. Nothing to complain about just lots of praise for Gillian and her offering.

    James2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • I had a lovely time at Gillian's house, and I can only recommend it. The room is very nice and everything is superclean. It's a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, and Gillian is very approachable and communication was great. There was not a single problem and I would come back to stay with Gillian any time.

    Franziska2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Gillian is a wonderful host, quick to reply and with loads of interesting stories to tell. Her house is a quirky place in a quiet cul-de-sack of Midhurst. The bedroom is spacious with the windows opening into the garden. My stay there was very pleasant and relaxed, disturbed only by the hooting of owls from a nearby park at night and playful squirrels in the morning. And Gillian prepared simple but lovely breakfast with the side dish of passionate conversations about everything.

    Ruta2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Gilly was a charming host, who went out of her way to help. Generous breakfasts, big comfy bed. Perfect for what I wanted. Interesting conversations were a bonus !!

The Barn is up a long private track, in a beautiful location. We feel like we are in the middle of nowhere, yet we are only a couple of miles from Haslemere. Please note that due to the ongoing pandemic we are not taking any bookings for April or May 2020 and shall be following government advice as it develops.
Whether you are getting married later on in 2020 (or indeed 2021!), are looking for great walks, visiting friends or relatives, need somewhere to stay for work, or just want to escape it all, we really hope you will love this place as much as we do. The Barn is about 20 metres from the host’s house and is accessible via a stone path from the driveway. It is serene, quiet and peaceful and completely self-contained. There is a lovely open-plan sitting room into which we have installed a kitchen, so if you don't want to go out you can prepare your own meal, then relax and enjoy the views over our pond and garden. Or just chill out in front of the TV ... There is also a DVD player and we have put together a selection of DVD's and board games which we hope you will enjoy. We use Bedroom 1 for bookings of UP TO two paying guests. It has a double bed and a newly refurbished en-suite (December 2019) with white towels and complementary toiletries. Please note: There is a supplement of £35 for bookings of two people or less who wish to make use of Bedroom 2 as well. Bedroom 2, has french doors leading onto the Barn's private garden. It is a lovely room, very spacious, with a king-size bed and its own TV. We are currently installing a second bathroom into the Barn and it will be ready very shortly. There is a mezzanine area above Bedroom 2 with 3 single beds.
The Barn has direct access to a bridleway which leads in one direction to Blackdown and the many walks and trails of the South Downs National Park. In the other direction it leads directly to Haslemere. A brisk walking pace will take you into Haslemere High Street with its wide range of cafés, shops and pubs in about 25 minutes. We are surrounded by wildlife. You may see the deer as you drive up the track. There are buzzards, owls and a red kite is often seen flying above the fields. There is also a small RSPB site next to the property which you are welcome to explore. There is an OS Map for you to use during your stay and we are very happy to recommend our favourite walks ... as well as local pubs and restaurants. We should add that although we are within walking distance of Haslemere, this is most definitely the countryside and it gets VERY muddy in the winter. If you have welly or walking boots, please bring them! If you prefer shopping, Guildford and Chichester are within a comfortable driving distance.
  • Gorgeous property, surrounded by beautiful views. Melanie was a superb host, very accommodating and able to help with every small enquiry or request we had. The barn was spotless and lots of lovely local walks close by so even if you have to stay in and isolate, you still have lots to do in the outdoors. You may need some cosy clothing to lounge about in though as it can get a little cold due to all the big windows/glass throughout

    Tina2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Melanie was a fantastic host. Nothing was too much of a problem for her. She left so maybe thoughtful touches to ensure we had a great stay. She was amazing at responding at messages, and was so quick with correspondence. The house is beautiful and in a beautiful location. It was so relaxing and chilled. We can’t wait to come back!!

  • I would highly recommend Melanie’s barn. It was spotlessly clean and cosy, with daffodils in each room, and in the most beautiful setting, surrounded by fields with horses and sheep. Melanie couldn’t have been more welcoming and hospitable.

Goodwood is a short drive away. The Old Dairy is a detached, single storey former dairy adjacent to our family home and sharing a driveway which forms a courtyard between the two properties. The open plan living area has a fully functional kitchen with fridge (including small freezer compartment) oven (with integral grill), hob, extractor fan, microwave oven, washing machine, kettle & toaster. There is a table and chairs for two, a sofa and a smart TV with freeview, catch up, Amazon Prime and Netflix (you will need your own subscription to access Amazon Prime and Netflix) as well as a Bluetooth speaker and a selection of books and games. There is also a full length mirror. The living area is separated from the bedroom by a sliding door. The bedroom has a double bed, pocket sprung mattress with memory foam top layer and king size quilt. The duvet and pillows are feather and down and the bed linen is Egyptian cotton. Within the bedroom, there is a freestanding bath with hand held spray attachment, toilet & sink together with Cole & Lewis toiletries. There is a privacy screen separating the two functions but it is essentially open plan (please see photos 7 and 8) Please note that there is no shower. Double glass doors open on to the patio. There are muslin curtains at the doors to provide additional privacy during the day without blocking the light. There is also a chest of drawers, peg rail with clothes hangers and a fan. There is a second TV which is mounted on a swivelling bracket and may be watched from the bed or bath. There are USB charging points in the living area and bedroom (android and iphone charging cables are also supplied) The Old Dairy has under floor heating and a combination boiler which provides hot water on demand. Outside to the rear is a small patio area with a table and chairs. There is also an outside light. To the front is a shared parking area with 1 guest parking space. This is well lit by the street lamp opposite our home and an outside light to the front door (which will be left on for you if you are arriving after dark)
We are located in a quiet lane just a five minute walk away from Midhurst which caters for your everyday needs with a supermarket, convenience store, chemist, banks, post office, butcher, baker, shops, cafes and restaurants. There is also a farm shop nearby. Midhurst is located within the South Downs National Park and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. Walk straight from our gate in the opposite direction and within 5 minutes you will find yourself on Midhurst Common where there are lots of lovely walking routes through the woodland. If you are visiting to attend a wedding, several venues are within walking distance including The Spread Eagle Hotel (10 minutes) and The Walled Garden (20 minutes) Grittenham Barn and Southdowns Manor are both a 10 minute car journey away and Farbridge is around 15 minutes by car. If you require a taxi during your stay it is essential to book in advance and I am happy to recommend some local companies.
  • It was a phenomenal place to stay and we’ve never felt so relaxed on a weekend away. The note and little extras made it the best. My partner was so happy about the milk. Definitely the small things that made it the best! Will be returning!!

  • Claire’s Airbnb was brilliant! Although we had a short stay we loved every moment. The barn is very peaceful, tastefully decorated, extremely clean and tidy. We felt at home. It is a brilliant location just a short walk down the road to Midhurst. Thank you Claire!

  • Can’t recommend Claire’s enough lovely place to spend a few days, spotlessly clean, stylish and welcoming. Some great little touches like the Bluetooth speaker and Netflix available to guests, loads of helpful information about the area as well. If you’re a couple looking for a nice little trip away this is your place short walk from town with some great pubs then back to the dairy for a warming soak in the great free standing bath!!!

    Daniel2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Claire’s place was lovely, beautifully clean, an easy walk to the town and very cosy and warm. We had a great stay and was able to catch Claire at the end of our visit who was lovely. We can recommend the pizzas at The Queens Head Sheet pub as recommended by Claire in her well made welcome pack. Thanks for hosting us Claire - we had a lovely time!

    Erin2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here. It was warm, comfortable, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a good break. The kitchen is really well equipped, the bed gave us a really good night's sleep and we weren't as troubled by the whole toilet in the bedroom thing as we thought we might have been! The privacy screen is fine. The location is ideal - a short walk to the shops and restaurants in Midhurst whilst being in a peaceful spot. Claire is a great host - she gave us a friendly welcome and while we didn't need her during our stay we felt we could have contacted her had we needed to. Would definitely book again.

    Ruth2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Claire’s place is warm, cosy and perfect for a relaxing weekend away. Midhurst is a stylish yet interesting town with great pubs, shops and cafes. We spent the weekend there and loved it. The accommodation is stylish, comfortable and we especially loved the freestanding bath tub! • Great little studio, perfect for a couple! Everything was spotlessly clean and very well equipped with lovely touches such as wine, milk, tea and some croissants for our arrival. Claire-Louise couldn't have been more welcoming and gave us some great tips for local walks and dining. Really quiet and peaceful as well, great if you're looking for some time out. All in all couldn't recommend this little place and Haslemere enough - we will be back!!

  • Claire-Louise’s place is quaint, beautiful and peaceful - even more lovely than the photos! Everything was perfectly clean and set up with everything we needed - with sweet little extras to make the weekend feel special. Claire-Louise was an excellent and generous host, and I would recommend the place to everyone. Especially if you are looking for some walks - as you can walk to the Black Downs. Enjoy!

  • We had a lovely stay at this peaceful and quiet place. Claire-Louise recommended us delicious places to eat and where to go on a lovely walk in the area. Her responses were always immediate. The lodge was sparkling clean and the bed was very comfortable. I would definitely recommend staying here :)

  • The barn is much more than we would have expected. It’s super clean and comfortable but what really makes this place is the spectacular views of the fields - truly relaxing to sit in doors with a good book and look out onto the open spaces. Or go out for an adventure. The house was very comfortable and we even used the wood burner one night which was very cosy. We took long walks every morning along the public footpaths right next to the house which our kids absolutely loved. We also visited Petworth, Lodsworth and Midhurst which are all very close by. Thank you, Sally and Euan for a wonderful stay!

    Dina2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Sally’s was just the break from London we needed! We were a group of 4x adults. If you expect to lounge around at the house all day then I’d suggest a bigger place, but if you’re planning to use as a base between walking and drives, then it’s perfect. Big open plan kitchen and lounge with a fireplace. Loads of walks right on your doorstep and cute Petworth town only a short drive away.

  • Had a great couple of nights here with 2 friends. Used the barn as a base whilst we were in the area attending a wedding. The accomodation was very clean and tidy and had all the essentials you would need. The location was peaceful and pretty. Sally and Euan were very accommodating, responded quickly to messages and provided all necessary information. Would recommend!

This is part of a conversion of outbuildings and a small open barn. We left as many original features as was possible and added cosy underfloor heating beneath solid oak floors. The bedroom is not large, but is beautiful and is furnished with antiques. The shower room is contemporary and the shower works really well! Car parking is available on our private drive. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided, but breakfast is not normally.
The front door opens into the entrance lobby with hanging space and a table with tea tray. There is a bedroom with a king size bed dressed with White Company bedlinen, goose down pillows and duvet. There is a smart TV and a comfy arm chair. The shower room has a good shower with a basin, a wc and White Company bath towels. The Barn has wifi.
We are situated on a B road which is quite busy, at times, with traffic during the day, but not so at night. It is a short walk to shops and restaurants and a very short walk to a particularly lovely pub! We are situated just 15 mins walk from Haslemere mainline station on the Waterloo (55mins) and Portsmouth (30mins) line. We have the beautiful Marley and Lynchmere Commons within a short walk (National Trust) and a little further away are The Devil's Punchbowl, Blackdown and many more acres of wonderful countryside!

Welcome to our beautiful home, full of light, cosy, warm and right in the heart of the South Downs National Park! It's a relatively new build with the second bedroom on the ground floor next to the second bathroom. The wonderful open plan kitchen and living area is on the second floor, with ceiling height sliding glass doors and plantation shutters leading out to the private balcony. The master bedroom and en suite has the third floor to its self, for that extra bit of privacy and quietness.
  • Great stay as always

A wonderful large converted barn nestled within the South Downs National Park. Situated down a private lane on the outskirts of the pretty village of Fernhurst, the barn is surrounded by woodland and open countryside and lies in the grounds of our 17th century home. 1 large spacious self-contained barn studio, separate kitchen, hallway and bathroom. Croissants, fresh orange juice, tea, coffee and milk are all included. SKY, cinema screen, underfloor heating.
The barn has a large open plan living space spread out over one floor, with a separate kitchen and bathroom with a shower. There is a double bed with a mattress topper and fresh cotton linen, an L-shaped sofa, cinema screen with SKY, beautiful stone floors with underfloor heating and rugs. The barn has a spacious separate kitchen with a table and chairs, a large fridge freezer, butlers sink, oven, hob and washing machine. A toaster, kettle, milk, bread or croissants, fresh orange juice, tea and coffee will also be provided.
We live down a secluded private lane in the heart of the countryside. The barn is accessed through an electric gate, which leads onto a sweeping gravel driveway, continuing on to our family home. The barn is set away from the main house, looking out onto lovely gardens. It has its own ample private parking.
  • A great second stay at this barn conversion. Clean and spacious with a very cool interior to relax in. Would recommend anyone who wants a break from city life.

  • We had a great time! Katie was a very responsive host, and gave great local recommendations. The barn is lovely, photos actually do not do it justice.

    Julian2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect little country escape. We only had one night but would have happily stayed longer. Things that made it special: being tucked away in a secluded spot, views over the garden and tree line, cinema screen, gorgeous interior, lots of local info and walk recommendations. Thank you Nick & Katie! Lovely part of West Sussex - will have to come back in the summer for the polo & village green cricket!

    Kathryn2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great two night stay at Katie’s Cottage. The space inside is amazing and the pictures just don’t do it justice. Really easy instructions on how to locate the property and gain access. Quiet and secluded so you have privacy but Katie was easily contactable incase you needed something. They went out of there way to assist after my other half forgot something rather important for his evening out. We’ll laugh for a while about that . Thanks so much . We’d have no hesitation staying again.

    Michelle2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Super accomodation in a lovely remote location. The cinema screen and pub recommendation added to a great weekend.

    James2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This barn is the best! Super spacious, secluded and right on the trails 🥰 We heard the owls at night, went to gorgeous country pubs whilst ploughing through muddy trails in our wellies.... highly recommend this place 🥰 Katie has great recommendations and the barn caters for all your needs xxx

  • A genuinely lovely stay. The barn is absolutely perfect for a couple staying for a couple of nights - has everything you need and is beautifully decorated. Katie's a fantastic host with some really helpful tips on what to do in the area. My partner and I will definitely be back soon.
