    Our beautiful Waterfront Cottage is at the shores of Port Stephens in a place called Tahlee, a 170 acre property. Absolute waterfront, stunning views - a get-away for 2 that won’t disappoint. The colonial style interior of the cottage invites you to dive into a time and space far away from our busy lives these days. It is a 1-bedroom cottage with queen size bed and waterview, an extraordinary bathroom with bathtub, a full kitchen for self-catering and a living room with TV.
    The cottage invites you to relax and get away for a few days. The view is absolutely spectacular, no matter what time of the day. The sun rises over the water in the morning, the afternoon light is breathtaking and you have dolphins swim by on a regular basis as well as wallabies and kangaroos in the backyard. It is a truly remarkable place. Our waterfront bungalow is situated a little behind and to the right of the waterfront cottage (separate accommodation that can also be rented out if you want both accommodations) and there are other guest accommodations and staff houses up the hill, away from the cottage and bungalow. It's a place full of history and invites to roam around, go for walks or hike the mountain in the back of the property.
    Tahlee itself has an ocean pool and several fire places that can be used by our guests as well as three different hiking trails which allow for some exploring on the property. Just a 20 min drive away is Tea Gardens, a quaint little town on the Myall river. You'll find a Coles supermarket, post office, restaurants and more there. Don't miss out on the Boatshed in Tea Gardens. Yummy food, yummy coffee and great views. Just across the bridge from Tea Gardens is Hawks Nest, a little town with a beautiful beach.

  • We absolutely LOVED our stay for a week at Bella Luca! The house is gorgeous and the location is perfect! Checking in and out couldn’t be easier and the map on the fridge is super helpful! The house was clean and secure, lounges and beds super comfy and the kitchen had everything you’d need! The dogs absolutely loved the secure fencing and spacious yard - as well as the local dog beaches so close by! We loved the nice peaceful and safe feeling neighbourhood! We had a lovely relaxing time and your place is so cute and homely as well! It has everything we’d ever need and so much more - we couldn’t speak more highly about our experience at your wonderful home. We are already planning our next relaxing break in the coming months! Very comfortable and homely, our dog loved exploring the full enclosed garden, and a pleasant 5 minute walk to dog friendly beach was great. Lovely outdoor area with BBQ and indoor areas to sit back and relax. Everything you need for a great holiday! We would definitely love to visit again and would highly recommend Bella Luca to our family and friends.

  • Bella Luca was better than we expected. The photos on the listing made it look beautiful but couldn't possibly convey the tranquillity, the ambience of the house or the serenity of the area. Our dog loved the yard, and it was a pleasure to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner on the deck. Close to beautiful beaches and walks. Clean, comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen for cooking at home.   • This was a great unit to stay in with my 3 boys and husband. It was in a great location, easy walk to town and the bay. Although the apartment block itself is old they have renovated the inside beautifully and with quality appliances like Bosch. The pool in the complex was also great.

  • I booked this apartment for my parents-in-law for their 70th birthday visit to our home town. Their stay was perfect. The hosts have thought of everything! Appliances and furniture are modern, slick and clean. We didn’t need them, but there are also great games and even a small table for children. There is also a lovely view out to the bay. Only a small downside- overall the apartment building is a bit run-down and could do with a facelift.

Pacific Dunes Golf Course is a 5 minute drive away or you could drive a further 5 minutes and visit Fighter World.

Wander along the foreshore path in the opposite direction to reach the beautiful Gibbers Point, an ideal spot for fishing, swimming or a picnic. Maybe even catch a glimpse of a dolphin or two. The Bowling Club is a 5 minute walk away, visit their website to see the latest events and restaurant menu www.clublemontree.com.au We are a 30 minute drive from Nelson Bay for whale watching (in season), dolphin cruises, even closer for sand dune adventures, surfing, Murray's Brewery, a local winery and much more.   • The only downside is the need to take your own linen. Not a biggy, but most places I've stayed have this provided at no cost. Additionally, as this was also through an agent rather than with the owner direct, the process for picking up and dropping off keys from the agent is annoying as it is more typical with Airbnb to not have to do this.

    Enjoy being surrounded by trees and water with a National Park and Karuah river surrounding the house. Birds are abundant and an occasional kangaroo will greet you in the morning and evening. Please note we do have kids, who do make noise.
    The studio apartment is perfect for a couple or family. It is on the downstairs level of our house and sleeps 4 persons (Queen bed and convertible sofa bed - not too comfortable for 2 adults but great for smaller persons and kids) and has a bathroom, simple kitchenette for basic cooking (inside/outside setting, no hot water outside, only kettle or from indoor bathroom) and an outside deck. You have outdoor seating with river views and BBQ. We have a double and two single kayaks available for use by our guests. A list of items in the studio for you to use (to help you plan your meals and what things to bring): For cooking: - Kettle - Electric Kettle - Fridge/Freezer - Gas cooker - BBQ (must be cleaned after use, refer to house manual) - Toaster - Ricecooker - Blender - Pan/2 Pots - Plates,Cutlery, chopping boards, Cooking utensils & Glasses For entertainment: - 40” Samsung LED with USB/HDMI connection - WiFi (ADSL1,5 ... it’s the country but we can watch Netflix w/o probs) - Selection of Books & Magazines (English and German) - 1 double and 2 single Kayaks For creature comforts: - Fans Please note we do live upstairs and have a little daughter and son.   • Great little hideaway right on the river. All the basics are there, you will not go without! The mosquitos are definitely fierce but they were ready and armed us with plenty of mosquito spray and coils to burn which did the trick. Our favorite part was sitting on the deck at dusk looking and listening to all the birds. Being right on the edge of the national park was so serene and great for bird watching. While sitting outside enjoying a glass of wine we saw musk lorikeets, grey butcher birds, a white bellied sea eagle, rainbow lorikeets, little cormorants, a brahminy kite, eastern reef egret, and masked lapwings. We made use of the hiking trail right outside the door and the kayaks too! We would reccomend staying at this simple little gem of a place! Oh and don't forget to bring a beer down to the park on the river and have a picnic of fresh oysters from the farm!

  • It’s a great little spot. Just outside your doorstep are kayaks and a beautiful tidal river. Then come home for a BBQ in the outdoor kitchen. The butcher in town is excellent with local suppliers. A quiet little town with access to popular beaches. Our family of three enjoyed ourselves very much.

  • Torsten and Breanna are a laid-back, warm, and welcoming host. They checked in on us, provided us with additional items when needed, and were always happy for us to knock on the door if we needed anything. Definitely the best hosts I have met so far! The studio is comfortable and well stocked with whatever you may need. Note that there's no oven, but there is a microwave and portable gas stove to get by on. The apartment is otherwise very well furnished for a small studio - there's even a washing machine! The house is just in front of the river and Torsten's provides kayaks which is awesome. You can easily spend a day paddling through the river and never having to leave the area. Make sure you wake up for the sunrise over the hills from the jetty too! Would highly recommend for a weekend away!
