Easy drive to Sofala and Mudgee. Kids had a ball exploring the farm. The place was spotless. Toni was very accomodating and fast to respond to any questions. We will be back

  • A wonderful and amazingly appointed hideaway perfect for families or anyone who wants to escape the city grind. Within a short driving distance to the Mudgee wine region and to other historical areas such as Hill End, it is a perfect location. The home itself has comfortable beds and great amenities for large groups, and for the kids there are some very friendly cows and ponies to keep them occupied. Also a great outdoor area including fire pit to watch the stars in the evening. Not a lot of internet/phone signal out there but frankly that’s part of the charm. Switch off and enjoy the fresh air!

This is a newly renovated room at the Royal Hotel Sofala. Enjoy a comfy queen bed. You have access to the lovely balcony above the pub where you can see the whole town.
Wonder around the amazing historic buildings and be sure to check out the river behind the pub (maybe even find some gold).

Warramba is set on 100 acres of regenerated farmland in the Greater Blue Mountains. The 1890s homestead has been lovingly restored as a bolthole for the world-weary. Historic Rylstone and the world-famous Wollemi National Parks are a 25-minute-drive away.

There are three bedrooms - one king bed and two queen beds. The king bed can be converted into two singles to accommodate more guests. Prices vary depending on the number of guests - One couple, one bedroom - $350 per night Two couples, two bedrooms - $500 per night Three couples, three bedrooms - $650 per night You can also book swags and stay on the swag deck on the top of the hill with your own campfire, whisky and marshmallows. We also have a bell tent that can be set up with prior notice.
Warramba is a short drive way from Rylstone, one of the oldest villages west of the Great Dividing Range. It was recently named by Australian Traveller as one of the top 10 secret spots to visit in Australia. If you are a wine lover, the award winning De Beaurepaire winery in Rylstone has just won Australian Wine of the Year for 2018. We are also surrounded on all sides by National Parks including the stunning Ganguddy gorge, perfect for fishing and canoeing.
  • Warramba is an exceptional house and property - there is so much to explore, and Edwina and Neil are generous hosts who are always at the ready should there be any questions. We enjoyed walks around the property, listening to the varied bird life (and to the frogs at night; can't forget them!), watching the changing sky, and enjoying this all spent with dear friends. It really doesn't get better than this. We are so looking to return visits in 2020 and beyond. Thank you!

    Christine2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Edwina and Neil went above and beyond in every way from our beginning enquiry to the moment we left. Warramba is everything you expect of a beautiful country retreat with beautifully thought out homely inclusions. The highland coos were of course the highlight. We can’t wait to come back to Warramba again.

    Laura2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • There’s something magical about this one. The home has been designed in a way that makes you instantly relax and it compliments the surrounding landscape perfectly. There isn’t a window without a view. The farm is quiet, peaceful and worth the drive (which itself was very beautiful through the valley). If you’re looking to relax and get away but still have a touch of luxury this is the place. Will definitely be back.

    Simone & Michael2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • A charming sandstone cottage with the most divine attention to detail. Warramba was the tranquil country get away we needed. The perfect alternative to staying in town, but still an easy drive to the Mudgee and Rylstone wine regions. We cannot wait to stay again.

    Sarah2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Warramba is an exceptional property and home and we are so thrilled to have become regular visitors to such a special location. Walks around the property, cooking delicious meals, reading, relaxing and enjoying the company of our dear friends make for the most special times and Neil and Edwina have given us the best-of-times roadmap in sharing Warramba with all of us. Thank you both so very much and we are so looking forward to our next visit.

    Christine2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Warramba is a beautiful country home in such an idyllic setting. This was our second time staying at Warramba and it was as magic as the first stay. It's our no.1 Airbnb place! Lovely sandstone home, beautifully styled with small little touches to make you feel right at home. Highly recommend booking a few nights (at least) at Warramba!

    Sophie2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Magnificent home. Breathtaking location. Amazing amenities. Lovely linens. The very best Airbnb I have ever stayed in. I cannot wait to return.

  • Warramba is a special place and we really enjoyed our stay. It is very secluded and peaceful. Sitting outside and watching the sunset and saying hello to the Highlands cows were highlights. For those looking for a small family, couples or solo getaway, The Cottage at 'Coomber' is just for you. Located on a working sheep and cattle property in Rylstone NSW, The Cottage is the smallest of three homesteads on the farm. The Cottage is perfect for those looking for a quiet getaway outside of the city. It boasts views of the property and is comfortable and cosy, with a fire to warm your hands on and a kitchen to cook up a storm.
  • A wonderful cottage with everything one needs plus great hospitality, quite and beautiful.

  • We were visiting friends in Rylstone and the Cottage was perfect location wise just being a little out of town. I loved the many stylish touches that had been incorporated to create a space full of character and comfort. The kitchen was very well equipped. The sofas were extremely comfortable and bedding was sumptuous. We plan to return to visit our friends again and will definitely choose to stay in the Cottage

    Christine2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed a lovely stay in the cottage. Great hosts, a gorgeous property and lovely touches. We enjoyed the breakfast and were super stoked to be able to agist our horses next to the cottage which was very convenient.

  • Beautiful location on a farm! The fresh eggs and bread were a delightful touch to an already cosy place. Really enjoyed staying here

    Monica2019-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • We can see why Tracey is a Super Host. The cottage is an immaculately clean and welcoming space. The beds are comfortable, the shower hot, sofas relaxing, heating and cooling efficient and all appliances in tip top order. Thoughtful little touches like fresh flowers and games, books and magazines add to the mix. Opening the fridge was a pleasant surprise with eggs, milk, butter, jam and a delicious freshly baked loaf from the Rylstone bakery waiting inside. The cupboard was also stocked with cereals, spreads and condiments. The view of the paddocks and dam with mist rising in the morning and a gaggle of geese was delightful. In fact to be present on a working sheep property was a very nostalgic experience for us because we both grew up on the land. City people would enjoy experiencing a rural way of life at Tracey’s place. We met Stephen who was very welcoming and gave us some useful tips and local knowledge. The proximity to the Wollemi National Park is a major attraction in the area and Coomber makes a perfect base for exploring it. We highly recommend Tracey and Stephen’s place.

  • Fantastic value for money. The cottage is cosy, warm with lots of rustic charm . There's a good sized kitchen will lots of amenities and everything you need for brekki at home . There's also a lounge with TV and DVD and 2 good size bedrooms. The cottage is located on a working farm with beautiful views. We didn't get to use the outdoor space much but plan to return in warmer weather. The cottage is about 7 mins drive to the amenities of Rylstone.

Check out the quirky townships of Kandos and Rylstone, explore the Wollemi National Park, head west to the wine regions of Mudgee or north along the scenic Bylong Valley Way. A great place to relax and take some time out and breath in the fresh country air and a great place to use as a base and explore the region.
THE BOWERS HIDEOUT is a small, studio style, free standing bungalow. It has recently been totally refurbished so it is fresh, clean and ready for guests. The property is situated on a very large double block with great views looking up to the Coomber Melon Mountain often with drifting fog and mist. The bungalow is fully self contained with well equipped kitchenette and en suite bathroom . We are about a 3 minute walk to a well stocked supermarket and liquor store for supplies so no need to worry too much if you forget anything.
Kandos was until recently the home of the 'Kandos Cement' mill which is still standing right on the outskirts of town. If you have seen or been on the Sydney Harbour Bridge you can thank Kandos for supplying the cement that went into building that plus half of Sydney. Kandos today is a mix of retired workers from the mill, others who were born and grew up locally and a range of 'blow ins'; generally people escaping the city life for the country. The good thing about country towns is that unlike cities which people love or hate, most people that live in country towns like living there.
  • What a surprise this little cottage turned out to be. We were expecting a "shed behind a house in a tiny country town" The town was much larger than we expected and The cottage was perfect. Shawn has done a great job proving all the amenities you need for a comfortable stop over.

    Sue2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great location in kandos. Note that there isn't WiFi. Shawn kindly offered to share his mobile data/hotspot, but if he isn't there, not sure what would happen re WiFi.

  • Bower's Hideout was a great place to stay in Kandos. It was homely, clean and had everything you'd need for a comfortable stay. Shawn was very friendly and helpful, he's obviously put a lot of effort and thought into making his place and Kandos region accessible to visitors. Communication was easy, and he was also very understanding when I made a mistake with booking dates! I would highly recommend.

    Emily2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • We felt really at home at Bowers hideout which is a very comfortable cabin in a quiet area.It contains everything you could possibly need and particularly worth mentioning is the great bed and whisper quiet airconditioning .Plenty of room in the large lush garden to stretch your legs. Shawn is a very friendly and helpful host and we would love to visit again !

    Rosemarie2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • We like Shawn's place so much we stayed again and had another great experience.Looking forward to our next visit !

    Rosemarie2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • We got to Shawn's place 4 hrs later than expected due to getting lost hiking in the Wollemi National Park. Shawn met and greeted us and gave us access to park the car inside the locked and secure premises. We found some cold lemonade in the fridge which was a fantastic addition. We had a very good rest and break.

    Rinay2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Expect a cosy place to stay with everything you need. Close to the grocery store and really nicely done.

Sofala is a historic gold town. There are beautiful preserved buildings and homes in the town. We have a lovely river behind the pub where you can try your luck at gold panning.

The Shearer's Quarters is camping meets homestay - an authentic farm experience in the heart of the Cudgegong Valley. Once a home for the shearers who visited the farm for more than 50 years, The Shearer's Quarters is now a cosy cabin with views of the property. It's a unique experience for those looking for a different kind of country getaway.
The Shearer's quarters has 6 individual bedrooms, a communal kitchen and living area. The Shearer's Quarters are basic, with limited power access. Only hardened travellers should stay in winter months.
  • The Shearer’s quarters is an absolute gem! We loved staying there so much. The aesthetic of the quarters, the freedom of the farm and the 5 minute drive to beautiful Rylstone and all that has to offer was a perfect combination to make our getaway memorable.

  • Do yourself a favour and leave the city for some drought tourism and support little towns like Rylstone. Tracey and Steve were lovely hosts and our kids got to experience some great outdoor freedom. Felt a little like stepping back in time to when life was a little simpler and slower paced. We will be back soon to hopeful wander through some green paddocks. Thanks again Tracey and Steve

  • Great location and property for our group of 9 family and friends for the Rylstone StreetFeast weekend. The property is very peaceful with great views across the farm and the sunsets and sunrises were amazing. The accommodation was full of country charm, the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and we especially enjoyed the outdoor sitting area. Tracey has put a lot of thought into making the Shearers Quarters very comfortable and the breakfast supplies provided were greatly appreciated. Everyone left very happy and relaxed. We will definitely be back.

  • Wonderful location. Sylvana and her family were very kind and friendly. The house is very comfortable, cozy and with many things to do on rainy days when it is not possible to walk outdoors. The breakfast provided was great. The property has many animals such as: sheep, cows, kangaroos, wallabies and rabbits. Sylvana's husband and son took us on a tour through the property, feeding the animals and we were able see many kangaroos, wallabies, rabbits, birds and learn about the region. It was a very good weekend we recommend 100% and we will definitely be back.

    Lilian2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect getaway location for anyone looking to relax and BBQ on the weekend. The space is very stylish and clean. The airconditioning was exceptional and made the stay in summer very comfortable. We were very impressed by the spa and deck area. It was set up very well. The cupboard and fridge were well stocked and the breakfast provided was so considerate. Much more than just cereal, there were sausages and eggs! What a feast. A special treat was the tour of the farm to feed the cows. My husband thought that was the best part of the trip. You travel out through the huge property on a safari cart and get a lovely view of the local vineyard. Worth every dollar.

    Michelle2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Sylvana’s place was absolutely stunning. The property is way better than we had expected and was spotless. The spa and the back deck over looking the bushlands is a great space to kick back with a glass of wine or a book. The hosts took us on a tour of the property and we got to feed some of the animals which was great. Overall one of the best Airbnb’s we’ve stayed at and would highly recommend!

  • When we first stumbled upon this flat on AirBnB, it seemed almost too good to be true. There must be a catch! But everything was as perfect as it seemed online. Sylvana and her husband Ken were the most thoughtful & gracious hosts. They provided us with all the information we needed and showed us around. The flat is just perfect! Kitchen had everything we needed and the spa was just amazing. The bed was comfortable & bathroom was excellent. The location was incredible. Sylvana had excellent restaurant recommendations and was of great help. She went way beyond to make our long-weekend comfortable and memorable. Thanks Sylvana & Ken for a wonderful beginning to the new year!

  • We spent one night at the property and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would've loved to have stayed longer. The property is clean and well looked after with everything you need supplied plus a lot of thoughtful touches. Sylvana's husband Ken took myself and my kids for a ride to feed their cows and sheep which was an amazing experience for us all. I would definitely recommend this property to others.

  • Wonderful place for a weekend away! Sonya went above and beyond to make you feel welcome and cared for. The place was clean and stylish and immediately we felt at home.

    Christina2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing first glamping experience at ‘Stargaze’. The place was secluded, quiet and peaceful. We checked in and was welcomed with red wine and the best honey we’ve ever tried! We also did horse riding for the first time and absolutely loved it. Thank you again for such a wonderful stay.

  • Great stay lovely and clean glamping tents are amazing !!

    Peta2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing and styling glamping, all the decorations were so well designed. Love the place!

    Xinyang2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I stayed at Dreamtime for 3 nights and we couldn’t ask for a better glamping experience. Everything about the tent is extremely thought out and very stylish. Cooking food at the kitchenette and the grill was easy and all the utensils were provided but do bring your own ingredients and spices! The location is absolutely stunning and highlights everything Capertee has to offer. Just prepare for long road trips if you want to go to wineries and caves but it is worth it as the sceneries along the way are breathtaking. Sonya and Soren were absolutely wonderful and sweet so do make sure to pay a visit and have a cup of tea with them. Don’t hesitate if you need help with your tent or planning out your trip as they are more than happy to help you out. I can’t recommend Turon enough and I’m so happy to have celebrated our 3rd anniversary there.

    Jenny2019-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • This glamping experience is worth the price you’re paying. The tent was amazing with little touches of the owners and next to stables where horses stayed, we were able to pat and see the horses come up to our tent. It was such a great way to get away from the city and recharge. I highly recommend staying here for the weekend. Although just beware, for those who have a smaller car the drive into Turon Gates is gravel and a little of roading.

    Nicole2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most amazing time, total relaxation in the most serene environment. The glamping tents are out of this world, complete luxury and well equipped. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.

    Karen2019-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • this is gonna be a short one: out tent is called "dream time" and we both agree that there's no other words more appropriately named for our time spent there. it's all you need to get away from the noise and relax while enjoying the great hospitality of Sonya, our host, offers. there's no thing better.

  • Had a great stay at capertee, very peaceful. VERY well equipped for dogs with a big yard and beds etc. Much appreciated

    Brett2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Linda was great to deal with, quick responses to emails & SMS. Although Capertee is a very small town, it is centrally located to Mudgee area for wineries etc & 4wding. The cabin was great for our small family & our Boston Terrier. The dog play area was fully fenced & secure, so you could leave them there all day if you wanted too. All amenities worked perfectly. Hill End, Sofala & Newnes are good 4wd day trips to keep everyone busy. Log fire was awesome on our cold nights. Highly recommend a stay at Linda’s “Upton Downs”

Bathurst is such a beautiful place to live and visit because the people are so friendly and helpful. And we can still vsit family and friends in Sydney as it is not too far away. We love our coffee and Bathurst has a large variety of cafes and restaurants to choose from.We are very spoilt for choice. When we are driving along Limekilns road, everyone waves to you even if you don’t know them. We love waking up in the morning and seeing kangaroos out the kitchen window, echnidas in the front yard or kookaburras on the side of the road.

But what was also really nice was the little touches like the breakfast (fresh eggs, cereal, milk, bread etc.) and the nice smell in the room when you arrive! We really enjoyed our stay, thank you!

  • This place is absolutely everything you would want for a weekend away: • Friendly accommodating host • Beautiful View’s of rolling hills • Hot tub under the stars with a plastic wine glass in hand 🍷 • Fancy robes in the closets for your journey to the spa • Lots of wood for a cozy fireplace • A kitchen with every utensil you could possibly need • SUPER comfy beds • Dining table, & indoor and outdoor coffee tables for games and nibbles! . The dirt road through the back pasture makes for a wonderful stroll that takes about an hour or so to loop you around back to the house. (Over a creek bed, past grazing sheep and Heeps of kangaroos hopping about over the hill.) • Fenced yard for your dog to easily explore in and out of the place and very friendly dogs next door :) • If you don’t have Telstra there is no service and no WiFi so everyone can ignore their phones and be in the moment.

    Kaylee2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • The only warning this place should come with is that you’ll want to stay longer! This cottage was perfect for our weekend get away, being able to take our dog with us was such a special added bonus. The cottage was clean and Jayne had thought of EVERYTHING you might need whilst there, from platters for cheese boards to seperate towels for the spa and also a coffee pod machine. Everything in the cottage was of a high standard and had a great homely feel to it. The spa at night under the stars was spectacular, it was equally as good in the afternoon in the day light with a fresh country breeze. We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage and would love to make it a regular get away. Couldn’t fault this place on a single thing!

A drive through the valley is well worthwhile as the properties, cliffs and views are quite unique. Almost 'Glamping' :))
  • Thanks so much for our stay. Such a beautiful place with obvious love and care gone in to make it a perfect and welcoming place to unwind. We could have spent forever there Such a thoughtful host thank you so much for having us! Cleo and Quelly

  • Had a really great stay a Nick’s cabin. Fantastic very private location, just shared with the kangaroos, possums, chickens and ducks. Great location as well to explore the Capertee Valley from.

  • We had an amazing time in Nick's cabin. Secluded, quiet and so peaceful. Lots of wildlife around and so much to do in and around the cabin. Nick is a great host who made sure we were really comfortable throughout the stay. We'll be back for sure!

  • A perfect retreat in the middle of the bush! Such a great getaway an easy drive from Sydney. Sitting on the balcony watching the wildlife was just what we needed. Thanks again Nick we'll be back again!

  • Nicks Cabin is an incredible place to stay. If you’re looking to escape all the stress and worries of everything, you need to spend a night here. You won’t regret it. I loved every moment of it and staying for one night wasn’t enough!!

    Adisen2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Nicks cabin was absolutely lovely. Our first wildlife encounter was driving up to the cabin when we spotted a beautiful male lyrebird, followed a couple of hours later by his mate having a drink from the dam. Kangaroos, possums and goannas dropped by to say hi in our little bush cabin and the view framed by the bedroom window overlooking the dam was a lovely way to wake up. My partner was fascinated by all the quirky touches left by worldly guests throughout the cabin, while I was content to lie in the verandah hammock soaking up the peaceful quiet. Would definitely recommend Nick’s cabin for anyone looking to get up close and personal with the Australian bushland while also feeling comfortably at home in a cosy cabin.

    Phoebe2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Nicks Cabin is a fantastic place to relax and recharge. The wildlife right on the doorstep was great and the peace and quiet was so relaxing we did not want to leave.

  • We loved Nick’s place so much we stayed again! Perfect place to lower the brain waves in the Bush in such a cool cabin. Will be back again :)

Our lovely early federation home has been recently, respectfully restored. It sits in the heart of Rylstone town and is a stone's throw to all that Rylstone has to offer. The Cottage provides an historic country getaway whilst still being a flat short walk to Rylstone's legendary cafes, yum cha, pubs, clubs, parks and gift shops. It is also an easy walk to the Rylstone Show ground and adjacent Cudgegong River. The Cottage is homely, inviting and perfect for a romantic getaway or family stay.
The Cottage has a choice of two large master bedrooms each with a queen size hotel quality bed and decorated in a luxe country federation style. One of the queen size rooms has an ensuite. There are two other smaller bedrooms with new single beds and quality bedding. Both the kitchen and the bathroom are newly renovated, the kitchen in a quirky country style. All appliances are brand new and there is an original Hunter kitchen stove that can be lit in winter when it's cold. Dishes will need to be washed by hand as we chose to have an old fashioned kitchen with no dishwasher. In saying that the kitchen is beautifully equipped and has an electric stove, fridge, cook top and microwave. The pantry is well stocked and please help yourselves to whatever is there, we just ask that you replace what you use if possible. The Cottage has a wonderful rambling garden and lawn and is surprisingly private due to several large hedges that divide the yard into different sections. The Cottage can be accessed either by the front door up a short set of stairs, or through a gate from the side lane with flat access to the back door.
The Cottage is located in Rylstone, NSW. Rylstone is a quintessential Australian country town, and whilst it is not very large, it is home to so many wonderful treats! Rylstone is a beautiful and historic town and is around a 3 hour drive from the north side of Sydney. Once in town, you can start with breakfast at one of several yummy cafes, including Saffron Kitchen at No 47 on the main street - amazing coffee and Cafe on Louee which is almost next door to the Cottage. The bakery is old fashioned and exceptional and full of yummy offerings as well as being very well priced. For lunch the Deli does THE BEST hot chips and sandwiches and you can always go to the legendary Yum Cha in the Main Street for something different. For dinner the Globe still does some of the best pub food in existence as does the Rylstone pub or if a club is more your scene take a walk down a block to the Rylstone club. There are several gift shops and second hand furniture shops and other specialty stores and all of these places are within a couple of hundred metres walk from the Cottage. You should also take an afternoon or morning walk (or both) down to the beautiful Rylstone show ground. Look for platypus in the river and if it's hot.....have a swim in one of the water holes. There are several renowned wineries within a short drive, such as De Beaurepaire Wines and Naked Lady Wines.
  • A well set out and clean cottage with a welcome feeling...a home away from home.

    Lian2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is beautifully decorated, clean and very spacious. It was the perfect place to accomodate the family and close to the Main Street. I would highly recommend staying at the cottage if you visit Rylstone.

  • Lovely, comfortable cottage in a handy location. Margaret has furnished it beautifully and it had all the comforts of home. We enjoyed walking around the corner to visit the attractions of Rylestone. The Drip, Ferntree Gully & Dunn's Swamp were highlights of our trip and a must-visit! Thank you & we look forward to returning one day soon.

  • Beautiful little country cottage with little modern touches. It was a perfect place to relax and unwind after a long day of travelling. The beds where amazing - they’re no hotel bed, they’re just like home and that’s the overall feeling we got from our stay - a home away from home. It’s nice to finally stay somewhere where the hosts have thought about their guests.

    Amy2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous little cottage in a lovely town. Will stay again next time.

Alison Park Estate is a farm cottage on 100 picturesque acres. The views are spectacular - every changing escarpments are breathtaking. The bird life and other wild life is abundant. You could roam about the 100 acres, pack a picnic, bush walk around the back of the property or just relax on the deck watching the very changing escarpment. We are 25 mins to Rylstone an Kandos and about 1 hour from Lithgow. Enjoy the peaceful serenity and escape from the real world at Alison Park Estate!
The house is a quaint 3 bedroom cottage and has 2 lounge rooms. It is situated on 100 acres in the Capertee Valley, which is the second widest canyon in the world. There is no WIFI, or free to air tv. Recently a Telstra tower has been constructed nearby so we have phone coverage. We are Telstra customers so unsure of other providers reception. Enjoy the serenity of the outdoors, and spend quality time with friends and family. We have a few board games and DVDs for you to pass the time in the evenings, and 100 acres for you to spend time in during the day. There is a full kitchen however non working dishwasher. The main bedroom has en-suite.
Our farm is in Bogee, which as a town has no facilities, however we are about a 25 minute drive from Rylstone, a beautiful town with a great country feel. There will you find pubs, cafes, gift shops and general stores. Kandos is also 25 minutes away with supermarket and shops. We are just over an hour from both Lithgow and Mudgee if you require a bigger town. We are 45 minutes from Dunns Swamp and on the road to Capertee National Park.
  • An excellent location for a nature rich stay - all away from the city life. This home & sorroundings have everything to make any age groups happy. Perfect location for bird watchers - we also found heaps of kangaroos around this place both early morning & evening. There are two friendly horses who like carrots & we enjoyed feeding them.

  • Quiet, relaxing home away from home. Clean spacious house with lots of added extras. Quality linens, comfortable bed, great shower. One of the cleanest properties I’ve stayed at. Spectacular views.

  • Kathy was a thoughtful host who quickly responded. At the time of booking we had some concerns about local bush fires but Kathy provided local information and flexibility which reassured us. The space was outstanding value for money and anyone who is at all interested in Australian birds would find it a great location to spend some time in.

  • Diane's house is absolutely lovely. Has a very warm and cosy feeling and the animals make it even more special. The wine is delicious too!! Coming over from Syndey and used to waking up to coffee shops and tourists every morning, it was amazing to wake up to the peacefulness at the property. We will be back next year!

The property is self-sustaining with 100% solar power and a filtration system that purifies water from a natural spring on the property.
  • Thanks to Denny I was able to enjoy a late stop over while I was in the area for work. Although it was quick I was able to enjoy the beautiful scenery and solitude away from the big city. Thank you Denny

    Julian2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing. Lots of wild life around the property. Amazing to see the sky full of stars while sitting on the deck. Will definitely stay again

    Damien2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • If you are a nature lover, this is the place to be. The bushland is superb, the rock formations are amazing. This is some of the best pristine landscape we have seen anywhere and we have travelled extensively both here in Australia and overseas. You don’t need to leave the property for entertainment as you can spend many hours exploring the property and enjoying the wildlife. The wildlife is a joy to observe; so nice to sit on the deck at dusk, with a glass of wine in hand, to watch the wallabies and wombats foraging around the house. Particularly enjoyed sitting quietly in the bush observing and listening to the mimicking performance of the lyrebird, of which there are many. The house is perched on a rock ledge to take in the stunning view. It has everything you need for a relaxing getaway from the city. Highly recommended.

    Sandra2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful spot! We stayed here for 5 nights during one of the coldest times of the year and not once did we feel the chill. The wood fire was great and if it went out over night the gas heater is there to warm you up. We spent an afternoon sipping champagne in the spa on the back deck. We had wallabies and wombats at the door, saw peacocks, an echidna and beautiful birds. Walks around the very pretty property took up some time along with browsing the great movies that the host has on offer. Denny was great! Super responsive and keen to please his guests. Bring your food and drink and move in for a very quiet and very relaxing holiday. Foxtel and good internet access was a bonus to catch up on daily news if you felt the need.

    Claire2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Tranquil space for an escape from the daily grind. The listing was everything it promised to be and a great space for families to have a quick break from the city. We travelled with two babies so it was perfect as the two main bedrooms are at complete opposites ends of the house and out of ear shot of each other. We had a lovely stay.

    Shavonne2019-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place in an incredible location. Magnificent walks around the property, bird- and wildlife-watching, spectacular views of the Wollemi cliffs and the brilliant night sky. We loved it!

    Christine2019-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Wollemi Retreat is perfection, I was sad to leave. 2 days was not long enough in this gorgeous place! We loved every second of it, from the moment we walked in we felt homely, and comfortable. The space is definitely a great entertainers space or for a large amount of people. The Jacuzzi, fire pit and sun deck was incredible, this is where we spent most of our time lapping up the sun, watching the kangaroos and wombats, glass in hand and roasting marshmallows whilst star gazing. The wood fire pizza was incredible, with the kitchen fully stocked with all the appropriate utensils to make an awesome pizza! We decided to walk the property over a whole day, seeing bush turkeys, wombats, and lots of bird species. The individual verandahs off the rooms were amazing, and I recommend you cook up a storm of a breakfast and eat it off the chair and table set provided on the deck of the master room. Master room suite was beautiful, the bathtub was stunning with stunning views. Overall Wollemi retreat was clean, stunning and completely relaxing. I will be back!

Very clean and all electrical items working, basic kitchen and pantry items were provided as is a bbq. Oven has a genuine warming top for keeping Franks steak and chips hot while he’s fixing the tractor and the front screen door also has a genuine country screen door squeak. Well stocked linen press and bedroom wardrobes with countless sheets and blankets.

  • My friend and I stayed here as it was close to Louee Enduro and Motocross complex. The place was exceptionally clean. We only needed a place to rest our heads so we weren't looking for anything fancy but it was really nice of Frank and Cheyne to include bread, milk, and other treats. I was mostly in touch with Frank and he was super friendly and helpful. He also accommodated our check-in/check-out time requests without dramas. Would definitely stay here again.

Come visit nature at it's finest and experience the vista surrounding views. Angelina's cottage is nestled on 120 acres with 360 degree views of golden Capertee Valley cliff edges. Listed as one of the top 50 locations in the world for bird watching the Valley is blessed with such a stunning diverse array of birds. Great for bush walking and horse back riding. Note: No Motorbike riding or hunting/shooting on the property.
  • A beautiful house in a beautiful location. If you want to escape and soak in the area I highly recommend. Sal was a highly responsive and helpful host.

  • Amazing peaceful getaway for you to breakout from busy city living. We loved staying here on a long weekend, taking in a view of the ridges all around the valley, hearing all different bird sounds and watching the cattle graze. Fully self sufficient off grid with three bedrooms, spacious living area, kitchen, laundry outdoor table snd BBQ and much more. Located on a local no through road, you will experience absolute privacy and calmness. The owners were also staying on a next door farm ( 2km away) and very helpful, super friendly. You can easily get here following GPS directions and its best to offline download the area maps into you smart phone as you may not have mobile reception on the last hour of the trip. We did not have reception in the property but the WIFI was good for wifi calling and anything you need to do with the internet. Make sure to get the wifi password before hand. We were surprised by not having mobile reception (as the AirBnB ad says there is 3G) and had a bit of an adventure making contact to the owners but the neighbouring farm offered their landline phone to call the owners and it was sorted out very soon. The owners took us on a night wildlife spotlighting on the back of their 4WD which was awesome.

  • Stunning location and wonderfully remote. The place is also totally off grid, running from solar which is lovely. Fantastic for dogs (although if they’re too little they might get out under the fence, so need watching).

If you're looking for a quiet spot to get away from the rat race, Cloudbough is a sweet little cottage that offers an old-school style of holiday or retreat. Its bright interiors sleep 4 people and are full of character. There's no TV or internet so you can take time out to relax or explore the nearby village shops, swimming pool, galleries and museum. It is also handy to Rylstone dining/antiques, vineyards and ancient landscapes around Ganguddy/Dunns Swamp.
Cloudbough is practical, simple and lacks pretension. That said, it has lovely details like high ceilings, picture rails, drop-cord light switches and funky old kitchen taps. A basic renovation in the kitchen and bathroom brings the home into the 21st century, kind-of, the lovely big backyard is a great spot to throw out a blanket for a picnic, and you can enjoy morning coffee or afternoon drinks on the front verandah.
Cloudbough is located in a quiet town street filled with simple, old-style cottages. A few blocks away you'll find the main street, Angus Avenue, which has an IGA supermarket, 2 cafes, a bakery, pharmacy, bank, butcher, a church and thrift stores. You'll find Kandos Museum at 22 Buchanan Street and Artbox Gallery can be found at 52 Angus Avenue. There's also an Olympic sized swimming pool at 3 Saville Row, Kandos. 8 kms away is Rylstone; a classic heritage town with cafes, great pubs/dining, antique stores and weekend markets. You can also drive to Gandguddy/Dunns Swamps for gorgeous nature walks or fresh water swimming. Fertree Gully is another great site for bushwalking through rocky corridors and cool forest floors. Local vineyards are also worth a visit, including Naked Lady Wines.
  • Fantastic true vintage cottage filled with vintage treasures waiting to be found. Kandos is a great quintessential Aussie town full of treasures and the greatest op shop you’ll ever find. Museum, old homes and countryside are full of history and so close to rylstone. Worth the stay.

Retreat to this lovingly restored bank in the heart of Rylstone, NSW. Rich in history and design, it's centrally located and an easy stroll to the shops, cafés, pubs, restaurants, museum and gallery. It's also a short drive to nearby wineries and National Parks, and a scenic day trip to Mudgee, Gulgong, Sofala, Hill End, and the Capertee Valley. While many of the original features have been retained, the house incorporates contemporary elements, making it a uniquely chic place to stay.
Guests will have access to one bedroom with king bed, a cosy living space with TV + streaming, WIFI, a bathroom with a shower and washing machine, a large backyard with carport (with lockable gate upon request) and a fully equipped kitchen with oven, microwave and coffee machine.
The historical village of Rylstone is incredibly quaint. The main street - where The Old Bank is located - is lined with beautiful stone buildings, each telling their own story. There are a few beautiful shops dotted down the street, along with some great cafés and restaurants, plus a wool shop, museum (next door) and art gallery. Don't leave town without trying the dumplings at 29Nine99 and fajitas at Pepitos Mexican restaurant. The Globe is also a great place to unwind and meet a few locals. Further afield, there are some great wineries (De Beaurepaire Wines, Naked Lady and Elephant Mountain), a beautiful olive grove (Rylstone Olive press) and some spectacular National Parks. Ferntree Gully offers a stunning walking track, whilst Dunn's Swamp (Wollemi National Park) has a bit of everything including walking tracks, rock art, lookouts, camping and during the summer months kayaking, swimming and paddleboarding. Head to Mudgee, Lue, Kandos, Gulgong, Sofala or Hill End for a scenic day trip.

  • The place is neat, comfortable, cozy and beautiful. It's located in a beautiful town of Sofala. Everything inside and out the residence is so classic and well maintained. Lots of kangaroos around the house at night. The owner is extremely kind and lovely. Must visit for a lifetime experience.

  • Wow, what a stay! Jayne’s property and the cottage itself was breathtaking and was made even better with the thoughtful touches, the lovely welcome and of course the spa under the stars. Being able to walk across the property was great and we loved sitting out the front watching the sunset and playing chess. If you’re thinking of booking to stay, do yourself a favour and book! We loved how quiet the area was and getting off grid was a blessing!

  • Amazing, relaxing and all you could ask for. Jayne’s house has the most luxurious linens and furnishings. The bed is wonderfully comfortable and the spa bath out amount the stars is amazing. The yard was perfect for our three Samoyed girls too. All you could need is at your fingertips. We would love to come back one day.

  • An absolute treasure!! Absolutely everything about this place was perfect. We were so surprised how beautiful and serene the location was. The pictures are amazing though even still, certainly don’t do it justice! Jayne and Simon - thanks again!! We will certainly be back

  • Jayne's place is complete relaxation. The highlight was the spa under the stars. We would definitely stay again, and longer next time.

  • We’ve stayed at countless Airbnb’s and jaynes is by far the best we have ever stayed at. The cottage is beautiful, spacious & clean, the kitchen is stocked with everything you need and even had a bottle of wine and snacks waiting for us. The balcony overlooking the hills is stunning and the perfect spot for dinner & drinks while watching the sunset or breakfast as the mist lifts and kangaroos hop by! We went hiking with our 2 big dogs to the dam and they didn’t wanna leave, with 400 acres for them to run through this holiday was more for them than us 😂 the spa at night was amazing to watch the Milky Way, we’ve stayed all over Australia and never seen it so bright and beautiful! We loved that by staying here too we were supporting Australia’s drought stricken community. If you are after an off the grid romantic stay I couldn’t recommend Jaynes place enough we are already planning our return in the winter!

  • WOW!!!! This place is amazing, everything about this cottage is beautiful and the views are spectacular. Would 100% recommend to anyone wanting to get away for a weekend. Jayne was wonderful, and kindly gave us wine and snacks ready to go. Best part was relaxing in the spa with a glass of wine and watching the stars!

  • Absolutely loved spending a couple of days at Jayne's place. Such a gorgeous property! Jayne was easy to communicate with and extremely helpful. The spa outdoors was the highlight for us - relaxing with a glass of wine and enjoying the views. Our 2 doggies loved roaming around the big backyard. Will definitely come again. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful property with us Jayne!

  • This place is absolutely breathtaking! Don't be fooled, the photos do not do it justice! It was better than I could have ever expected! Part of that was being off the grid (be prepared, if you are not with Telstra, you will be 20 minutes from being in contact). I thought this would be more difficult, but it was actually the best part about it. No distractions, just the beautiful scenery and the romance. Do yourself a favour and be immersed in this property. Thanks so much Jayne for sharing this space with us!

  • Arianne's place is amazing, very clean and nicely decorated. It's on a farm so it was nice to get away from the chaos of city life and have a quiet getaway. There are also a lot of lovely animals! Arianne's two dogs are also friendly and well behaved. I enjoyed my stay very much and I will definitely consider visiting again. :)

  • Great stay, great food at the local pub in Capertee.

    Harrison2018-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Arianne is a fabulous host, her farm stay is a gem nestled among hills and farmland, perfectly relaxing and perfect to sit watching the sun rise and set. Arianne has a gorgeous Staffy pup, full of life and fun to play with. I was in Orange viewing a dog from a breeder with no intention to buy that day but as it turned out the breeder let me take the pup as i live over 4 hours away. Arianne let me bring the pup to the property at short notice and went above and beyond to accommodate us. We all had an amaizing time with Arianne and love our stay at her property. Keep in mind that this is a farm, there are cows mooing, flies outside, bugs and other things outside that are usually found on farms bit ot is nothing bug repellent and closed in shoes if walking around the property cant fix... ..the trip from Orange (GPS GIUDED) through Hill End to the property is gravel road, steep inclines and lots of wildlife so take Ariannes advise on directions as it will be alot less sketchy although I loved the view on the way but suggest not taking that route at night. all in all it is a fabulous place to kick back and relax, beds are super comfy and all your needs are met. we will be staying again

Loves Terrace is a beautifully restored 1855 stone cottage located in the heart of Rylstone. Just a few minutes walk to the centre of town, Loves Terrace was built from local stone and has a special place in the history of Rylstone. Original features of this beautiful cottage have been restored along with modern comforts to make your stay memorable. The original mini-orchard has been restored, along with lovingly established lawns and gardens.
You will find Loves Terrace to be a comfortable and well restored home suitable for two families, a small group of friends or just a couple for a special weekend away. Our gourmet kitchen is well equipped for you to bake up a storm. The main TV room has a large format TV with free to air channels, a DVD player with a selection of DVD's a large lounge and open fireplace. We have a second sitting room with a Chesterfield Lounge and open fireplace. The Dining Room has a large extension dining table and slow combustion stove. There is a selection of jigsaw puzzles, books, historical memorabilia and local curio's to while away the hours. The bedrooms are beautifully appointed with reverse cycle air conditioning, electric blankets, bedside tables with lamps, dressers and cupboards. The sleeping level has 4 bedrooms and a small bathroom with shower, toilet and basin. The main bathroom is on the lower ground floor and has been lovingly restored and has a shower and free standing claw foot bath. Our wonderful gardens have been designed to make outdoor living comfortable during the hotter months of summer as well as the chilly parts of winter. We have a wood fired stone BBQ as well as a fire pit for roasting marshmallows and snuggling. Our deciduous trees provide plenty of shade in the summer - there is always a shady spot to sneak away and read a book, sip a glass of wine or just lie in the coolness of the grass. If you would like to explore the town on wheels, we have a few bicycles ready to go. Please make sure you wear a helmet. Whilst we try and keep the bicycles in good working order, you must be sure yourself that each bicycle is safe before you ride it (pretty simple - take care of your own safety).
Get your coffee fix from one of the cafes in town. Saffron Kitchen at 47 Louee Street and Café on Louee both have terrific coffee and snacks. Rylstone wood fired bakery is a must (try the "pull aparts" - they are amazing). Rylstone Butchery is a traditional styler butcher - the sausages are terrific. The Globe Hotel offers the best beer in town as well as fantastic meals. Tell Phil and Pete we sent you - they will look after you. If you want to meet some local characters, the front bar of The Globe is the place. The famous 29 Nine 99 Yum Cha is owned by Na Lan. People travel from all over to eat at this famous establishment. If you prefer a club meal, try the Rylstone Club - a good bistro and cheap beer. There are plenty of antique and curio stores around Rylstone - just wander wherever your feet take you. The historical walk around town is well worth the journey. There are a number of wineries a short drive from the centre of town
  • Loves Terrace is a fabulous place to stay. A beautiful old stone cottage that's stylish and comfortable. Big comfy beds, lots of towels, and the ducted AC upstairs was perfect as the temp was quite high during our stay. The two bathrooms also worked well for our weekend away (2 couples). We're planning to stay here again if possible so that we can use the huge indoor fireplaces and outdoor fire pit.
