Our stay at Jennifer and Nick’s place was perfect. Spotlessly clean and comfortable with a great range of welcoming breakfast foods and condiments. Tall Gums guesthouse is well located in the village of Barrington but nicely tucked away from the road to afford absolute peace and quiet. Nick and Jennifer are very friendly and helpful and Reggie the dog is a charmer.

We had a lovely, relaxing stay at Tall Gums Guesthouse. There were so many thoughtful touches included; from breakfast supplies to places to hang your clothes. Jennifer and Nick have thought of everything you could need for a weekend away. Would highly recommend!

My husband and I had a great stay in this little cute cottage like place. This place provided us with everything we needed and more. Perfect location just outside the Barrington Tops with a great affordable rate. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating, even providing tips of what was on in the local area that weekend regarding events and festivities. We had a wonderful stay and will be back again 😊

Jennifer’s place is as advertised. It is a lovely place to stay in this area. It is very clean and comfortable. The aircon was very welcome on the hot days and it was great that Jennifer had it on for our arrival. We had everything we needed for our stay. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

We, including our fur babies enjoyed our stay at Farthings. Penny and Chris are kind and wonderful hosts and so very interesting to talk to. We had the pleasure of spending NYE with them and they were great company. It was very hot and dry during our stay but the house is well designed for the climate and we managed to have very restful nights with the help of the ceiling fans. We travelled to a beautiful beach, Black Head to get a cooler breeze during the heatwave which was around an hour's drive away through stunning country side. We dined at a local Thai restaurant one night and there is a BBQ available to cook on if needed plus a microwave and sandwich toaster. I would recommend spending time at Farthings for a very pleasant country escape.

Penny and Chris are great hosts. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience of staying at their beautiful place in Forbesdale. The place is well furnished, comfortable and cosy. Penny has thought through the smallest of details to make it that much better. Loved our conversations as well and happy to recommend this place to other travellers.

It was just such a delight to stay at ‘Farthings’. As a solo traveller, Penny, Chris & Coco the dog made me feel welcome and at home. The accommodation is spotlessly clean, very comfortable, with lovely furnishings and a large supply of breakfast items in the mini fridge. My stay happened to coincide with The Gloucester food and Wine Society quarterly meeting and I attended as Penny & Chris’ guests. A fabulous evening meeting the friendly locals. It’s a special place to stay, and the town and surroundings are definitely worth visiting. Can’t wait to come back! Thank you!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Penny. The place is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We decided to take the offer of dinner, which was delicious and shared with the hosts in their home. The provisions for breakfast were very generous, though I found not having a kitchen a little tricky. There were lots of thoughtful touches...DVD’s, books, cds, Netflix connection and a wonderful selection of toiletries. We felt very looked after.

A beautiful quiet tranquil space to fully relax. Coco the dog was the perfect finishing touch. So cute and friendly.

The Ridge Gloucester was an amazing place to stay, the views and the setting were just great. Very quite and the house is quite large, good for a full family size group or a getaway. Dan was a great host and very informative through out the whole process. The Ridge is close to town but far enough away to be secluded, there’s some nice bush walking tracks around the area as well. The perfect place to kick back and relax over a bottle of wine! Thanks Dan!

Our group stayed at Dan's place for 5 days. Clean accommodation, breathtaking views, comfortable and well equipped. Communication with Dan throughout the process was flawless. Overall, had an amazing time at the accommodation. Highly recommend it.

While only five minutes from town, we felt as though we were a world away from everything. Everything we needed was there, the views are spectacular, the house was spotlessly clean when we arrived and we had no reason to call for anything.

Our weekend at The Ridge was amazing. We celebrated my husbands 60th birthday with our closest friends . The place was very clean and the view spectacular over Gloucester. Will defiantly be back. A huge thank you to Dan for all the information about local activities and for being so helpful.

A wonderful house/ setting to accomodate a large group!! Views were just beautiful and we all enjoyed just sitting on the large deck or around the fire pit relaxing! Everything you need is provided in bedrooms/bathrooms and the well equipped kitchen. Thanks Dan

The Ridge was absolutely stunning. The layout was perfect for the kids and for my grandma to get around. No stairs. It’s located on a hill so you’re surrounded by breathtaking views. The kitchen was huge and well equipped, the 2 living rooms were very spacious and the vibe of the house very welcoming and relaxing. If you think you might use the fold out bed, just double check there’s extra linen and blankets, and confirm how many towels there should be. The hot water took a while to kick in sometimes, but not really an issue overall. Dan was a magnificent host - very helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend staying at The Ridge. A wonderful and unique experience my family and I will share forever :)

A lovely house with loads of space and great views all around. Communication was super easy and Bev was happy to help out with our questions. Far enough from town for space and quiet but close enough to easily get to the cafes etc. Sunrise from the bedroom was worth waking up early for

We’ve had a wonderful time at Bev’s. It’s such a comfortable home and suited our group of 3 couples perfectly. Our dog Eadie loved her time there. We’d definitely love to come back and really recommend Bev’s home for a relaxing time in the beautiful countryside around Gloucester. Fantastic views and in a fantastic spot on the hills.

Dam it Getaway is absolutely amazing. The view of the rolling hills, watching the sunrise and set - unbeatable. The house is awesome and has everything you need. The perfect place to unwind and relax. We wish we'd stayed longer!

Paula's place is by far one of the loveliest places I have ever stayed on Air BnB. Every corner is filled with thoughtful touches that made me feel so welcome and taken care of. Her cabinets are filled with absolutely everything you might maybe need; including bandaids and first aid gear, shampoo, conditioner, perfume, coffee, tea, all the good things and more. Paula made my trip possible on very last minute notice and welcomed me with such kindness and an ease of communication. Even though I was essentially alone in the desert I felt so well taken care of. This place is so, so lovely, I can't say enough nice things about it. I wish Paula could come make my home feel like hers :).

This a really cute place. It has everything you could want plus added extras which is a nice touch. The toy box is a master stroke, and it kept the kids occupied while the adults relaxed! The high chair was much appreciated too. Very quick response times when we had questions. Location is lovely and just down the road from Gloucester town. The kids enjoyed giving seed to the birds and food to the fish (food provided by hosts), and the deck is a great space to chill out and take in the view.

We loved our stay at Sunny Acres! What a beautifully presented cottage that was perfect for our family of four. The first thing we all loved was the gorgeous scented aroma of the diffusers when we walked through the door :D We enjoyed both the indoor log fire, as well as cooking a BBQ on the outdoor fire pit. The most favoured thing about the property, according to our kids, was the two friendly horses, who made great company for the kids, allowing us to relax and take in the views from the back verandah. Extra special touches were the bottle of red wine and the coffee pods :D This cottage was in the perfect location, less than 5 minutes drive from the Gloucester shopping village, where there were plenty of great coffee shops (our fave was Roadies), restaurants (we happened to attend The Kitchen on $10 Shnitty Night, with $5 kids meals), and some lovely shops. We used the cottage as our base for day trips up into the Mountains to check out Gloucester Falls, and also out to the coast to visit Foster - Tuncurry. Super relaxing, perfect space.

We had a lovely stay at Sunny Acres. There were so many extra special touches and we lacked for nothing. I have never stayed in another Airbnb that had this level of cleanliness, absolutely outstanding.

A little home away from home. Very comfortable & cosy. Loved having a fireplace inside and out. Space for kids to run around the back with horses to feed. And the verandah out the back overlooking the paddock.

A perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of Sydney. Lovely cabin with everything you could need for a weekend away. The view is beautiful and the only sounds you’ll hear are rain drops on the roof and the local wildlife. Bliss.

A great place to stay! We stayed 3 nights and wished we stayed longer. It was a relaxing place where we could enjoy the serene views. The place was clean and had everything we needed. It was a bit hot given the Australian summer this season, but Dan and others made sure we were as comfortable as possible. Definitely recommend!

Close to town, Darrel the butcher a top guy with top meats. I would suggest cooking your selection of meat on the bbq, it was divine. I wish we stayed for longer than two nights but will return

Berrill was a great host and is a caring and down to earth soul. We enjoyed our stay. The lodgings were very clean and tidy and are close to town and amenities. The complimentary coffee, juice, milk, toast and cereal were appreciated. Access to the WiFi was also very handy. The shower had plenty of really hot water. We didn’t hear a peep out of Berrill’s dogs. Sorry for accidentally slamming the front door on Tuesday night Berrill!

Amazing views! The stars are amazing and the spa and pool at night just top it off. The house is very well equipped and has everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The farm animals are friendly and so are the dogs. You’re free to explore the farm and get up close to the animals. The hosts are very friendly and helpful!

Kaz is a good host. If your into running then the perfect place to stop and do Park Run of your passing through. It was cancelled the weekend I stayed but that’s ok. Comfortable bed, clean room, modern kitchen and hosts that give you your space. Nice to meet a host who knows about running and that’s nice to have as it’s a good connection. Good internet and for me that was great uploading images from a day of photography work to my client. Gloucester is a nice town to stop by, refuel and grab a coffee. Overnight is nice if you want to break a drive to Sydney or the New England.

We had wonderful time here thoroughly enjoying the location with its lovely river walk, farm feel and proximity to Barrington Tops National Park. Our hosts were amazingly helpful and we loved feeding the chooks. There were only two of us but the property is well set up for more people to use and enjoy.

My husband, 20month old, 5month old & I had a great time at Rick and Jill’s. Perfect weekender for a farmstay get away. Gorgeous property and views, and everything you need in the accommodation. We took all our own food etc so we could enjoy the property and surrounding national parks without needing to go into Gloucester for anything. We arrived at night and there are fairy lights on the entry which made it easy to find, lovely warm fire, port a cot provided for our Bub. If you’re looking for a quiet, scenic & humble farmhouse with amazing views this is for you

We really enjoyed our stay at Mansfield. It was a really welcoming place with plenty of room to move. Lots of thoughtful touches and everything you could want in the house, which was very well stocked. The countryside of course is beautiful and so peaceful with the river at the bottom of the garden. We chose it as a base to explore Barrington Tops National Park (which was amazing) and I would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the Gloucester area, with the town only a short drive down the road with plenty of facilities there to explore as well.

This morning as we left until this evening my 10 year old son has continued to say how sad he is that we have to leave, why couldn't we stay longer. It was more than we could have asked for. If it weren't booked out I would have extended our stay. If I could I would live here.

It's everything and more. Location is perfect. Spacious and the river at the bottom of the property is amazing. There is so much to see in the nearby national parks and State Conservation Areas you'll run out of time but it's worth trying to see it all.

A beautiful little cottage with all the comforts of home!! Surrounded by tranquility and stunning scenery we were able to unwind from the busy day to day and relax. The lack of phone reception meant less time glued to the screen and more time exploring nature - getting back to basics. Fabulous location for perfect peace & tranquillity. A real sanctuary, away from the 'rat race' and far from the maddening crowds. Exquisite bird life, and a haven for you to find solace. Well appointed and comfortable with all amenities provided. Even directions to find a nearby swimming hole, & inner tubes to laze in the river on! We would love to return to this refuge and plan to, whenever possible and whenever necessary!

Glenda’s place has everything you need for a peaceful getaway.

We stayed in the old milking sheds (there are two properties available), and this space and the hosts were lovely! This is a little gem outside of Barrington Tops. Glenda and Allan were so helpful with local attractions, even providing us with some tubes and shoes for walking on the rocks so that we could better enjoy the water activity at Rocky Crossing. Great place for kids and pooches!! The cottage is surrounded with the most amazing bird life, which were not loud and bothersome. There were also two beautiful cows on the property, but were gated off from our cottage so that was good for our pooches. This cottage caters well for the disabled. The property is not fully secured for the pooches, but this doesn’t matter with our dogs, but may be an issue for others. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

Doug was a fantastic host. Everything was as promised from the tranquil location to the amenities to really relax and unwind by the river. Everything is as you need with camp fire, cooking equipment, water and shower facilities. I wonderful experience.

Great and a unique experience! Was one of a kind and it felt great to get disconnected from internet and phone networks. We did so many activities from dipping into the river, reading books, walking in the woods, and exploring the nearby town! Would definitely recommend going there! The pictures on the listing look great, but they don’t do it justice. The tiny house is perfectly situated on the river, and the only neighbors we had were the cows grazing just meters away while we woke up and had breakfast on the picnic table under the tree. The house was well equipped and very clean, comfy bed and a shower with an unbeatable view. It was everything we hoped for for a nice little trip away from the city in a beautiful area.

The Ecohut is a little oasis away from the city grind. We loved the sound of the river, the beautiful shower and the visits from the friendly cows. Douglas’ great hospitality and communication were very much appreciated.

Tiny away is the perfect couples getaway spot for the weekend! Hosts were nothing but lovely and property was small but in perfect condition. Sitting in the jucuzzi watching the sunset was defiantly a highlight!

Great spot and fab house.

We had a great 3 night stay at Sheena's place. It was the perfectl pace to chill out and relax. We also brought our bikes and ventured further down the road, into the forest. The steepness of the road means that this isn't for the faint-hearted, but strongly recommend exploring this area by bike or on foot. We didn't see a soul, apart from lots of birds :-) so very serene. Only a shortish drive in to Gloucester if you need to get supplies or fancy going out to eat.

If you are looking for a lazy , relaxing weekend away with friends, Sheena’s place is just the ticket. Beautiful views, birdsong, wildlife, refreshing swimming hole in the river, night sky overflowing with stars. Comfy beds, aircon and ceiling fans for the hot days and a slow combustion fire for winter ... can’t wait to go back when it’s colder. Kitchen had everything we needed and the veggie patch offered us up some cherry tomatoes and corn. You have an excellent green thumb Sheena :) Tiny bit jealous we don’t have our own little patch of paradise but thank you for sharing yours with us.

Gorgeous farm stay in spectacular location. The whole family absolutely loved it. Such a relaxing space where you can connect with nature and leave the hectic life behind.

We loved our stay at Broula Farm. The house is clean and comfortable and had everything that we needed. The children (5yo + 2yo) had great fun exploring the property: we took a wander down to the fig tree via the creek, ambled through the vegetable garden, and had rides in the dinghy on the little pond. It was wet weather when we visited but this did not dampen our spirits - we braved the rain in our jackets and then retreated to the porch and cosy living room. Thank you, Sheena, for sharing your home with us, we hope to visit again.

This was a really lovely cottage to stay in and was an excellent base for our family to explore the Gloucester area. Stephen and Ros could not have been lovelier and made us feel very welcome. The cottage was beautifully fitted out and had a great upstairs attic-type area that our kids loved. As well as the beautiful countryside views we were spoilt with excellent wine at our very doorstep! I would highly recommend this lovely property.

Amazing country estate set in absolutely stunning surrounds. The house itself was beautifully decorated, well equipped and more than comfortable for our two families. The views and scenery were next level! The home is surrounded by vineyards, orchards and rolling hills, and set beneath Mt Mograni. Stephen was a great host, sharing lots of local tips, built us a bonfire and even showed us the full wine making process with a tasting to top it off. The place is only 15min from Gloucester so was easy to stock up at the local super market. Will definitely visit again!

The place was absolutely amazing, the amenities were beautiful and the river was absolutely fantastic. Whoever made the channel of rapids down the river really made our weekend. STUNNING!!! Photos don’t do this place justice. It feels like you are worlds away from people. The cabin is cosy, well styled and has views from every window. We enjoyed going for several short strolls to the river, the water being crystal clear and breathtaking. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. We felt relaxed as we woke to birds and nature all around. Town is a 10min drive with a large Woolworths, shops and several great cafes and parks. We will stay again! Highly recommend for a idillic getaway!!

We stayed with 5 friends for a cosy weekend around Barrington Tops. Lovely house with a cosy fire place and stunning views. Thoughtful touches such as hot water bottles. Plenty of space. Very quick communication from hosts, everything needed described in detail. Looking forward to experiencing during another season.

What can I say...wow, amazing, simply beautiful. The Woll is truly an amazing abode to just get away from the hustle and bustle of life and take time to enjoy the wonders of this beautiful world. It is well equipped with all the essentials and accurately described by Janey and Hugh. Previous posts have mentioned it is much further from town and access to supermarkets, fuel and other consumables than most people like, but that's what make this place so special. Just go prepared and you'll have a great time. We even bought a tub of ice cream at Gloucester, placed it in our esky and it made just fine...well a little soft, but nothing an overnight freeze didn't fix. In other words, if your looking for something that is surrounded by restaurants and an active night life, then The Woll is probably not what your after, but if your looking for the tranquillity and peace that this beautiful country has to offer, with access to some gold rush history and some beautiful bush walks, you can't go wrong with The Woll. Besides, the star gazing and sounds of the bush & farms was the perfect night life we were after. In regard to the the Hosts...Janey and Hugh were completely accomodating to our requests and their communication was always prompt. Just follow their directions and requests and you'll be fine. The house was clean with linen provided as stated. It is equipped with the modern amenities of internet and land-line (mobile reception is sparse, but that was a good thing for us), TV and DVD player. But you don't need it if you love the outdoors. Hosts provided fire wood for the combustion fireplace. It was well worth it. We'll be back for sure, just not soon enough.

what an ideal location to just get away and relax, totally switch off from the world which is easy with no reception. Located in the middle of a family property, with amazing views across the countryside. It's a good drive to local supermarket so make sure you have everything you'll need. The river for a swim is a wonderful treat and surprise. Wish we had booked for longer

Stunning outlook in a beautiful part of the world

This is a beautiful little house with gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains. It is very peaceful and the kids loved the cows and kangaroos in the surrounding paddocks. We also had fun cooling down in the river as it was the middle of a heat wave! It is a great place to stay with family and friends.

Hugh is an excellent host. This property is amazing with breathtaking view and top notch facilities. We stayed 2 nights with the whole family. We had two kids and they loved the backyard. Check in was super easy. The nearest supermarket is approximately 30 minutes drive so go well prepared.

What a beauty! You won't find this sort of privacy, quiet & river frontage in many other places. We managed to stay before the big rains - and the river was still just stunning, can't imagine what it's like now that it's rained! The giant deck/outdoor entertaining area is everything a family, large group could want. Your own little piece of paradise - really - just say yes! Beautifully decorated, immaculately kept cottage with very kind and thoughtful hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to come back to this unique and beautiful part of Australia.

Secluded, modern, spacious, overall a great place to stay.

Lovely space surrounded by beautiful landscapes. It was lovely to hear the Barrington river from the veranda of the cabin. It gets cold at night but we were toasty warm and cosy in the cabin. All in all a great place to stay.

This property is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. Kia Ora Retreat is quintessentially Australian. It is truely superb. I have no hesitation in staying here again.

This place is beautifully situated, with easy access to the town of Gloucester, as well as Barrington Tops national park. It is great for a large family group, with large bedrooms, each with their own en suites. The kitchen was well-equipped. The entire place was spotlessly clean and everything worked. Highly recommended.

What a magical place!!! Fantastic beautiful house with plenty of space for big group of people with 360 degrees of magnificent breathtaking Kia Ora lookouts that you couldn’t just take your eyes off it. The place was sparkling clean with a great clean bedding sheets in every rooms with en-suite bathrooms. Kitchen and BBQ area was just perfect and we cooked every night and didn’t have any problems at all. We were there when the temperatures were over 35 degrees but the whole house was cool with aircon in each rooms and couldn’t ask for better place. We are already planning on going back for next year! Just perfect!

This place has a magical ambiance about it. From the stunning sunrises through to the nights in front of the fireplace. The rooms were big and clean - each with an ensuite which was a lovey surprise. The kitchen was massive and we loved cooking our meals there - we didn’t even consider going into town to get takeaway! Not that town was far away - the house is only 7 mins from Gloucester which has everything you could need. We had a wonderful winter get away - and look forward to visiting again in the warmer months so we can take advantage of the pool!

I came to Kia Ora for a weekend far away from Sydney and was not disappointed. The location is absolutely serene, the house is perfect for a large group, and the garden is obviously someone's pride and joy. A must stay.

We had such an amazing stay at Mudaridge. Traveling from Sydney this place was the perfect get away. The place has so much space and it has all the amenities you need. We especially loved the big kitchen, water hole access and outdoor grassy area. We chose to not use the fire pit (due to fire season), however, I can imagine it would be a beautiful experience. Returning to Sydney we felt relaxed after such a special weekend with friends. Thank you Carolyn!

Somewhere different and special. Surrounded by native bush and cattle properties, this is a very peaceful and private place. Would stay again.

This place is amazing and the views are serene! A great place to escape and wind down. The place was very clean and the rooms were very comfortable. Enjoyed gazing at the stars and sitting by the fire. Even had an owl come and land nearby! Would definitely love to come back again.

Photos definitely don't do this house and property justice. The home was earthy with lots handcrafted wooden touches, a lovely garden and greenery wherever you look. It was homey, but stylish all at once. It was also practical, with firewood and starters pre-prepared, large bedrooms with space to store luggage, every necessary cooking utensil. Carolyne was flexible, fortunately allowing us late check ins and check outs. Definitely make sure you inform yourself of local activities, locations, and pre-download music before you get there, as there is no reception at all - but that's the glory of it all!

We had such a fantastic weekend away at this beautiful property. The view from the fire pit was amazing and the kids had fun exploring the river. We loved that the sleeping quarters were separate to the lounge and dining so that kids could be put to bed and not disturbed while the adults stayed up! Well equipped for a large group.

Mudaridge is an absolutely beautiful location. The view, the kitchen and the living spaces are ideal. The pictures of the accommodation and view do not do it justice. Perfect for groups, families or friends who want to enjoy a weekend away from the city. Carolynn was a great host, quick to respond, flexible and helpful. ❤️❤️

Water Gums is a wonderful large rustic home immersed amidst captivating nature. The billabongs and river are right beneath the house and you awake to the sound of running water an orchestra of bird calls. The kitchen and living spaces are well equipped to suit a larger number of people. A most memorable stay!

A charming house on a large property with great access to nature and very private. The photo's don't do it justice as some others have mentioned in other reviews. The perfect place for a relaxing getaway with family and friends for a few days.

Loved this place. Very cosy, peaceful and well equipped. We just relaxed, went for walks and ate home cooked delights.

We had a wonderful stay at this bushland retreat! We absolutely loved how close to nature it is and the wonderful local timber throughout. We felt like royalty in such a huge house for two people as we are city dwellers. Would love to come back next time with friends as the outdoor deck is perfect for entertaining.

If you like nature , birds and getting away from it all, yet still have all the comforts you desire this is the place for you. It fitted 8 of us extremely comfortably and was a truly delightful stay. Highly recommend this home. Sandra

our party of 5 adults had a pleasant stay. The space is roomy and homey with a nice big kitchen and living area. It was a nice farmstay experience and the owners were lovely and accommodating. Would have been great to have Wifi as there is very weak reception at the house. Overall we had a pleasant experience.
