We found the house easily following Colin's instructions and had a warm welcome by Sylvia when we arrived. The view was special and we saw some deer on the hillside the next morning. A spacious room with a good ensuite. We had an enjoyable meal in the local pub watching a lovely sunset. A good stop on our way further north.

My daughters and I spent just one night in Colin's apartment, situated in a calm and green area near the beautiful Loch Fyne. The studio was exactly as described on Airbnb, perfect for our purposes. Colin and his family are very helpful hosts and kind people. I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment in a location where good and reasonably priced accommodation is hard to find.

We, me and my son, had a great stay with Colin. Friendly, helpful and with humour. A nice little set up with everything there for cooking. New and clean. Good bed. Beautiful Highland views from the room and nice walking in the neighborhood. It's along a long distance trial. Nice little town nearby at the loch. You'll need to follow the instructions to find it.

The location was awesome and very close to the Loch Lommond. Colin was a warm host, very helpful and friendly. The apartment is very cozy, modern and with a beautiful view; having our breakfast in that background was really relaxing.

Very welcoming! The hosts were very hospitable, left coffee and tea with sugar and milk. Even gave us a bottle of champagne! Would definitely stay again if possible. The whole neighbourhood is beautiful and extremely friendly.

We did not get to meet Kathleen, but she gave us excellent directions for getting into her place. We had no trouble at all. She also had a washer and dryer, which after almost a week of travel was very much appreciated! This is not a B&B which provides breakfast, but there is a kitchen and everything you need to prepare meals after you purchase your groceries. We were there only one night. I stayed at Kathleen's place for one night in March, and the apartment and Inveraray itself were lovely! The location of Kathleen's place is fantastic - it's next to the main roundabout in town, a two minute walk from the water, and right across the street from the Inveraray Jail, which is a main tourist attraction. The apartment itself has comfortable beds, spacious bedroom, and everything is quite clean and comfortable. I got in late and left fairly early so didn't get a chance to meet Kathleen, but Janette, who also lives there during weekdays, was wonderful and very helpful in getting us settled. In terms of both location and comfort it can't be beat - I would highly recommend staying here!

A great apartment in a super location with views of the Loch and a short walk from the town.

Nice accommodation in a good location with lovely views. The milk and shortbread were appreciate and the fresh flowers in the lounge a nice detail.

This was a great flat for a few days in Inverary! It's close to everything, and I just loved everything from the exceptionally warm check in to the flat itself.

This is a great apartment in a great location. You can walk to most everything in Inveraray: restaurants, the waterfront, supermarket, etc. The apartment itself is very nice and clean; newly redone with everything you'd need for your stay. One master bedroom and two other bedrooms (with three single beds) was great for the family. There is some construction going on outside the building, but it wasn't a bother. The only thing to note is that the wifi is not free - it is something like 5 pounds/day.

Towels in washroom dirty, dishes dirty, location address not clear. It would be useful if gps coordinates are provided. Also not clear (to non-UK travellers) if parking is allowed, and is free. (It was free in front of the Jail, which is about 20 m from the flat). In summary, definitely not worth the €100 + charged.

We had a great time in this apartment. it's a self catering very well located in a charming little town. I recommend this place. The flat is perfect ans it was very simple to exchange with Robbie, who was available to give us all the necessary informations. Thank's Robbie.

Not sure it gets better than this. Great views from the apartment, location was superb for Inveraray, 45 minutes to Oban 35 minutes to Loch Lomond, but who wants to leave the picturesque town of Inveraray, every where looks like a postcard from the castle to loch fyne.

Inverary was a wonderful town to stay in and entirely accessible by foot from the flat. This was good as the flat does not have Wifi access. It is spacious but not the cleanest or best maintained flat. Robbie the host was responsive and check in and out was easy with the lock box.

We really enjoyed our time in Inverary! The attic apartment exceeded our expectations in most ways. The only negative aspect was the unreliability of the toilet. Sometimes it would flush and other times it took several minutes to get it to work. Overall, however, we had a great time!

Spacious apartment with everything you need

We absolutely loved the attic apartment - it was perfect for us (me, my husband and 2yo boy). There was plenty of room for us all, it was really well equipped and beautifully furnished. The three photos don't do it justice. There's also a large comfy lounge with a good kitchen and dining area, a lovely bathroom with big shower, and huge separate bedroom. The brambles staff were lovely and welcoming and kept the place spick and span throughout our stay. And the location is just spectacular, in every way. We can't wait to come back.

Brambles attic apartment is a fabulous place to stay. Right in the middle of the scenic Inveraray. The attic is very spacious and homely and has the most comfortable king size bed ever! Kitchen/diner and large living room with mounted TV and comfortable sofa's. Don't overlook this romantic little gem in a gorgeous place to stay. Definitely coming back.

My partner and I were looking for a quiet weekend getaway and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Anna was very thoughtful when communicating with us and even took the time to warn us of poor weather conditions the day of our arrival. Anna was so welcoming and even had the fire going for our arrival (despite the late hour). She and her family were wonderful hosts; they were nearby if we ever needed anything but left us to enjoy our quiet weekend to ourselves. The flat is every bit as beautiful as the photos depict. It is a farmhouse stable that has been converted using Anna's own designs; the love and effort she put into the flat is evident in even the tiniest details. There are beautiful throws, pillows, rugs for lounging on the couch or bed. The bathroom was cheerful and the shower was wonderfully hot. The kitchen was well stocked with loose leaf tea, pasta, olive oil, jam, milk, butter, etc. I also enjoyed the exceptional speaker system which came with a well-filled ipod attached for music; we used the speakers when we watched movies on my laptop. There is also a little back garden area; we sadly did not get to enjoy it this time due to bad weather. The fire was my favourite part of our stay; the flat was so warm and cosy that we lounged in shorts! The loft bedroom is beautiful with a large skylight for natural lighting (you can use the black-out shades if you prefer). The location was quiet, remote, and beautiful. My partner and I enjoyed going for a couple walks nearby but spent most of our weekend happily lounging on the couch in front of a warm fire. I can happily say that this was the best airbnb experience we have ever had and we cannot recommend this place highly enough. I look forward to visiting again soon! Well off the beaten track, and quite remote

Anna could not have been more welcoming to this beautifully presented little bolthole set within a gorgeous part of the country. The prefect external playground for any child; big or small and we hope to return soon.

We had a lovely 2 night stay at The Stable. Anna was a great host, greeting us on arrival and giving us some ideas of activities in the area. The stable is exactly as pictured, very well designed with some really nice quirky features, loved the stairs up to the mezzanine level. Also enjoyed the private garden space, and a visit from Anna's 2 very friendly cats. Ideal secluded location to enjoy this part of the West coast of Scotland. We took a day trip to Oban and stopped off at some of the places suggested by Anna in her guidebook, including Loch Fyne Oyster Bar and Fyne Ales. Highlight of our trip was a visit to Inver Restaurant, 30min drive from the stable and definitely worth a visit when in this part of the world. Would love to stay again and will recommend to friends. This is a fantastic apartment - we really enjoyed our stay and were sad to only have one night! It is, as described, beautifully designed with an interesting mixture of modern and traditional features. It is also very homely to relax in! The kitchen is well equipped, the relaxing spaces and bed are very comfortable, and the fire is excellent (Anna kindly got it going for us before we arrived). The house is situated along a country track in a beautiful forested valley, and a small village with a pub is very nearby by car. We hope to return to get to know the area better! It was a great place from which to explore the countryside around the Loch Lomond area. Anna, our host, was very friendly and went out of her way to make us comfortable. We had a fantastic stay at Carrick farm - Jai was an incredibly warm and welcoming host and it was great to hear about his plans for converting the rest of the farm! We would love to come back in a few years time and see how things have progressed! We didn't have any issues at all - the only thing I can think of was that it would be nice to have wifi in the house but I know that is coming soon! Thanks for a great stay! :)

We were the first guests in this holiday flat. The wifi wasn't fixed yet, but should be by now. Apart from that everything was just lovely over there. If you are looking for a few quiet days walking, fishing or kayaking, this is the perfect place to be. The next store or bitter town is quite far away, but the guest house is situated just opposite Carrick Castle and the Loch, so the view is amazing.

Family of 6 people, felt very comfortable and was like a home from home. Great communications throughout the stay. Well presented house with lots of space.

We met Jai and he was a fantastic host. Very helpful and welcoming. The location of this place is just brilliant and you cannot be dissapointed. The accomodation is great value for money. Only improvements would be the lounge sofa was on its last legs and could be replaced. However the plan isnt to be spending your stay on the sofa unless it rains :) We enjoyed our stay and would reccomend Jai and Vonna's place highly

The apartment is suited right on the shore of Loch Goil - beautiful views and walks close by. Although it is a little off the beaten track, it is easily within a drivable distance from lots of other visitor attractions. The property itself was perfect for ours and our two children. Kai and Vonna were fantastic hosts, happy to help. I would happily stay again and would recommend to others.

What a superb location! Eating your breakfast with a beautiful view of Loch Goil is a brilliant way to relax. The accommodation is very comfortable. Jai was very welcoming and went above and beyond if we needed anything. There are great walks on your doorstep and the shores of Loch Goil are a mere couple of steps away. Maggie's flat is packed with character and strikes the balance perfectly between quality and being able to relax and feel at home. The living space has plenty of room and the large windows and high ceilings let lots of light in and add to the spacious feel. Maggie was a great host and answered any questions I had promptly. The bedrooms and bathroom are a good size and the kitchen was well stocked with everything that we needed. Kilmartin is a great base for exploring the local area and the local pub is welcoming, serving good food in generous portions. We would not hesitate in recommending Maggie's place and would definitely return.

Maggies place was a great location in Kilmartin! Close to everything in town. What a beautiful location!

Maggie's place is charming! It had all the amenities we needed and more, and she left us the makings for a great breakfast. This is a great small community and is in easy range of many historical sites. We highly recommend it!

We had a wonderful stay at Fernoch. The apartment was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. It was great to be so close to the lake and enjoy its beauty and stillness. The best part of our stay was hiring a boat from just up the road and exploring the lake. The place is quite cut off but the drives to anywhere are very enjoyable and you can pick up supplies at Oban or Inverary. Eleanor was very helpful with her suggestions, and leaving us coffee, tea and shortbread, without being intrusive. I highly recommend the place for a relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings. We highly recommend this clean , spacious and comfortable appartement by the lakeside of Loch Awe. Magnificent view from the kitchen over the lake and even better when climbing up the Hill just behind the house. Host was very friendly and the kids loved fishing from the nearby pier (one minute walk and fishing rod available at the appartement). Boat hire just 2 miles away. Beautiful garden that goes until the lake. Not far from Inverary and Oban within 45 minutes.

We were 4 days Eleanor´s guests at her appartment and we really enjoyed it. The appartment is located directly at Loch Awe, just a few steps from the house and you are there. It´s a very big place (kitchen, bath, living room, 2 bedrooms). The location was very quiet, we had a lot time to relax and to recover. There were also electrical heatings all around the rooms, so that it were nice and warm =) We reached the appartment to a single track road, which made me a little bit nervous the first time, because at any point a car can come from the other direction and there is not so much space at the street (passing places were at both sides of the road every 30 - 60 meters), i didn´t know this from Germany, but the first time is the hardest and the next few days i had no problems with it. You have also the possibility to drive to a restaurant nearby (maybe 2-3 km) and you can also rent a boat to discover Loch Awe by yourself or you can also use the fishing rod in the appartment to try your luck ;) The communication with Eleanor was very good, she also left a few notes in the appartment. If you want a place, were you can relax Eleanor´s appartment is the right adress for you =)

Eleanor's place is quite big and comfortable. Bigger than expected! Good choice to totally disconnect from everything and everyone. Really quiet area. Maybe not the best choice if you are looking for a very well communicated place, but next to villages where you can get what you need. Thank you for everything!

Couldn't recommend enough! Absolutely amazing apartment in a beautiful building set within stunning surroundings with the loch sitting at the bottom of beautifully manicured gardens. If anything, the pictures don't do it justice! The kids liked: - the stony beach - fishing in the loch (nets and rod provided!) - the bedrooms - board games The kids disliked: - no internet If you're looking for remote and quiet, this is the place for you If you need data, put your phone on the bathroom windowsill! Communication was all perfect from answers to questions and tips/links (loads in fact!) for activities and trips etc to the cute little hand written note we found on the kitchen table! Would definitely go back

This is a beautiful, quiet place to spend a few days in the Scottish Highlands. Although remote it is central to many of the tourist spots of this area. Also it is not too far from a number of goid restaurants. Eleanor has gon to a lot effort to ensure your stay is very comfortable.

Really nice location and lovely cottage. However, we did get sick from the water (we were told it was ok to cook with but maybe we are more sensitive because we both had issues) so I would recommend using the bottled water even for cooking. It was fine for showering and bathing. A couple of items missing from the kitchen (oven glove, frying pan, tea towel) but otherwise very good and we enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic setting and surroundings... The rest was all down hill after that . Arrived at 16.00 as check in did not start until then only to be told it was not ready and would be about 20 - 30 minutes. Thought we were staying by the side of the hotel in a loch side apartment , however given a log cabin and 1/2 mile away with no view of the loch. It was way to big to just two of us and we rattled around the place... A family would have been in heaven. Ate at the hotel just once, and the food was ok. Would choose another place if we were to return Oh , watch the single track road that the hotel is on... Some very inconsiderate drivers there... I will repeat .. The place and surroundings are fantastic

Wonderful Loch side location. So quiet and peaceful. Great to chill out, cook own dinner and watch DVD in non fussy surroundings. Apartments a bit tired looking but very comfortable unbeatable views.

The front desk was very helpful and courteous. The remote setting on the loch was wonderful especially for kayaking and just enjoying the view from our cottage. Our small dog was welcome. The cottage was very comfortable. A drawback was the lack of Internet, none in the cottage and couldn't get any in the restaraunt or office. The restaurant menu was very enticing but the quality let us down, quite bland tasting. We so enjoyed the setting that we are returning next week on our way home.

After a quickly resolved issue with our booking, Anne was a wonderful host who went above and beyond for our visit. She provided breakfast supplies for our late arrival and was available for any Adobe on what to see in the area. We were placed in the top floor flat due to a cross booking and the place was much better than we expected.

The place was amazing, the view, garden and sea was the best. Findind the place was a bit difficult but was alot to do with the weather. I would stay there again if i have to go back there.

This is truly one of the most pleasant places I've stayed in my life, the flat itself is massive, the photos really don't do it justice, the back garden leads directly on to the beach, which was yet another fantastic surprise. We were meet by Anne, Lindsey's mother, who showed us around the flat and gave us some information on the local area, she was more than hospitable and made us feel really welcome. The local area is really lovely, there's a fair bit to explore and discover for yourself. If there was any downside to the entire time we spent at this great place it would be the weather, don't fret though, looking the lashing rain sitting beside a roaring fire made the rain a treat I could not recommend this more - you won't be pleasantly surprised, you'll be outstanding with your stay!

What a fantastic week away we had in your beautiful flat right by the loch!! Arriving late in the evening, the stove was alight and heating on, and food, tea and coffee available for us - it was such a pleasant surprise. We felt very welcome there - the flat is peaceful and quiet, all rooms very large, and it was equipped with everything we would need for our stay (plenty of stuff to cook a Christmas dinner!!). A short walk to the end of the garden and you have such a wonderful view across the loch. We took our bikes up with us and found some fabulous cycle routes in the area. In addition, there are plenty of great walks. It was a fantastic location for our Christmas break and we felt a week away was just not sufficient to see and do everything we wanted. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality.

Perfectly appointed with everything we needed for our short stay. Ideal for our day trips to Cambelltown and Oban, having come over from Arran and back via the Cowal Peninsula. A very attentive host.

We are a family of four that just loved staying at this flat for four nights. It is clean, spacious and beautifully decorated, and provides a nice range of high quality utensils (crockery, mug, pans etc) that make self-catering a pleasure. The home is clearly much loved and well looked-after. The three bedrooms are all lovely (ideally for a family with 2 or 3 kids), with interesting books and musical instruments dotted around. The setting is just spectacular, with the shimmering waters, bird life and pebble beach of Loch Gilp in front, and the truly wonderful Crinan canal (a bike or walk route) accessible directly from the back garden. This is a wonderful region to potter around for a few days, with the archaeological sites of Kilmartin a short drive or bike ride away, and lovely small towns and fish ports dotted around. Jeanette gave us a friendly welcome at the start, and was available on text to answer any questions that popped up. We had a wonderful time and would gladly come back here again.

Had a fab weekend. Smiddy restaurant Lochgilphead had very good food Sunday dinner. Good location for us attending wedding at Kilberry Only complaint would be the noise from child upstairs running around. Not the end of the world

Jeanette was very helpful also in advising about trips . shops are not to far and. Villages around very pittoresque . We. Were there for three days but wish had stayed longer . Very nice !

Pros - beautiful location, quiet and peaceful - beautiful walks in the area - Puck's Glen is a must! - well stocked kitchen - comfortable beds and linen - excellent wood stove - lovely warm house - well heated - very friendly and responsive host to a couple of minor issues eg replaced a faulty toaster same day - wet-room/large shower room was great with underfloor heating - parking close by Cons - we felt that a particularly picky guest may not have been happy with the cleanliness of the kitchen - don't get me wrong it wasn't horrible, just could have been a little bit cleaner eg certain cupboards were a bit dirty and disorganised. Only putting this here for those 10% of people for whom that is important. I think Alastair said that they hadn't stayed in the house since Summer, so it probably just needed a "spring clean".

Although the internet connection was good we struggled with the dampness and musty smells throughout. Also the small amount of toilet roll left for 4 people was inadequate.

Great flat for a stay in Ineraray, we felt right at home. The instructions were very clear and there we encountered no issues.

Arkland Cottage is a fantastic place to stay in Inveraray. Minutes from the water, restaurants and shops, quiet and a beautiful, cozy property and home. The arrival process was easy and Kathleen was very responsive in communication leading up to our stay. The only drawback was that it felt damp inside the cottage. Would stay here again on our next visit.

This place is so cute and charming! It has a lot of character, it's relaxing and has great views of the water. We wished we could have stayed longer.

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived as Alison's house was even prettier than we'd expected. It was such a perfect place to stay, filled with quirky & interesting items, lots to read, free use of Mac plus a real feeling of trust and respect. Woodbine is a charming, eclectic cottage - and very much a home. If you enjoy cookbooks and loch views, and are looking for proximity to Benmore and other fantastic forest spots, it's a great place to stay.

Although Alison wasn't able to meet us, we felt very welcome and everything was as described. It's a wonderful place to get away to and the view of the Loch is amazing. We had aa great time cooking meals in a well equipped kitchen and eating dinner in front of the stove. The local area has fine walks.

We spent a very nice week in Alison's house in Kilmun with the whole family. The location is peaceful and convenient to explore the Loch Lomond area, with some good walks nearby. We didn't meet Alison personally, but she was very helpful (perfectly communicating and organising everthything for us). We enjoyed the splendid view and all the pretty and interesting things in her home - like books, paintings, beautiful dishes, great variety of spices in the kitchen ... a tasteful collection from all over the world. Thank you very much, Alison - hope to meet you next time ;-)

Me, my sister and our partners stayed at Alison's homely apartment over New Year's, hoping for a few days of relaxation and a unique place to see in 2014. We couldn't have found a better llittle gem. We drove from Glasgow airport and the journey was trouble free and incredibly scenic. Alison was away but her friend Steven showed us around the house and made us feel welcome. The fireplace in the living room was brilliant and after buying in some food from the supermarket a short drive away we found everything we needed in the well equipped kitchen to cook up a few feasts. The view over the loch was big highlight, and the walking trails nearby kept us busy most days - walking up to the top of the highest peak we could manage on New Year's Day was pretty unforgettable! And the free standing bath was lovely to come home to afterwards! We would all definitely recommend for a unique and peaceful break. Thank you Alison.
