The main floor is original from 1910, you will notice the unique cracking and lines that have formed throughout the generations. The railing on the loft is made out of mild steel, custom welded in place. The height of the ceiling is a whopping 30 feet tall! The park across the street includes a basketball court, dog off-leash area, two playgrounds, soccer field, softball field and tennis court, as well as paved and unpaved paths and picnic tables.

  • Great space

    Patrick2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Artist’s Loft is adorable and exactly what we needed, in a great location to boot! The kitchen area was very well appointed, but we were only in town for a single night so we didn’t utilise it as we would have liked. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was bigger than expected. Overall, the space is understated and minimal in its decor - a good thing for us since we’re definitely not “a thousand pillows on the bed and nicknacks everywhere” people. The vaulted ceiling in the living area made the whole space feel light and roomy. Being walking distance from Alberta Street was a blessing we didn’t know to expect - it’s a great stretch of shops, restaurants, and pubs. Think the Portland version of Magazine Street in New Orleans (not touristy, amazing food, and so much fun!). We will definitely stay here again next time we visit Portland. Thanks!!!

Nestled in the private backyard of our family home, a neighborhood hub. The round, rustic, romantic MudHut hides in a secret garden overlooking the St. Johns bridge and sparkling river, near Cathedral Park, Forest Park, downtown St. Johns, canoe and hiking trails... Firepit, permaculture gardens, loaner bikes, community life, view!
Our hut was handbuilt by family, friends, and community with great love and serves as a guesthouse, homeschool hut, sauna and sanctuary. Wood-heated and candle-lit, it's a tranquil, rustic sleeping space. I recommend staying two nights for an immersive experience in the relaxing atmosphere. We are makers, artists and parents, and our land is a lively reflection of our creative life, often with projects brewing and children playing. A humming hive in a hidden wood on a bluff above the river.
We're in St. Johns, Portland's northern-most neighborhood and a small town of its own with a strong community identity here. Many families here trace their roots back to James John, the pioneer founder of St. Johns who is memorialized all over the neighborhood. Downtown St. Johns is a few blocks away, with plenty of restaurants (Thai, vegan, soulfood, chinese, pub grub, pizza, deli, breakfast, coffee & gelato), an old movie theater and shopping (lots of vintage). Cathedral Park, three blocks away, is gorgeous and photogenic with access to the Willamette River and the awesome overhead presence of the gothic St. Johns Bridge that you can see from the hut. We're also close to a lot of natural areas for urban hiking and paddling. Forest Park, full of trails and old growth forest, is right across the bridge. Just north of here is Kelley Point Park, the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers; Smith and Bybee Lakes, a wetlands for birding and paddling; and Sauvie Island, with beaches, farms, nurseries, hiking, fishing, & birding. We're on the Pacific migratory fly-way, so lots of raptor action around here. Bald eagles, peregrine falcons and hawks swoop by regularly.
  • A wonderful stay! There were too many cute touches to count, and it didn’t take long for it to feel like coming home when I opened the door of that cute little hut. Hospitality was phenomenal, ivy is an interesting and very kind person. Very worth the long drive !

    Angelia2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • the mud hut was more than a dream.. it was such an amazing experience and perfect stay for me and my boyfriends first time in oregon!! the views were an extra plus!!! before arriving i was very clueless on how to start a fire so if you’re new to that as well, ivy is more than willing to complete your coziness with a tutorial on how to start and keep a fire going all night. truly, i am sad to leave but i know a piece of me has stayed there forever!! thank you so much for this beautiful stay, and we hope to stay with you in the future!!

    Alyzabeth2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • This places is wonderful!!! The bathroom is not right in the hut but close. You do have to step outside to get to it but it was totally fine. The hut is so sweet, romantic, intimate and along with the hot tub we had such a relaxing stay here. The candle lights are beautiful and all the personal touches in the hut are just so incredible. 10/10 would stay again.

    Samantha2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Magical. This is more than a place to stay, it's an experience. Ivy was a great host. The place warmed up very quickly with the little wood stove. The bed is not sprung, which I really like. Good veiw of the bridge from the hot tub. The sound of the trains going by adds a lovely ambience to a special experience.

    Alistair2019-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • The space is amazing! I wasn’t expecting to feel so relaxed at an Airbnb! I will definitely be back and thanks for the travel tips Ivy.

We would love you to stay at the Arnold guesthouse! Conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood near PDX airport (7.5 miles), I-205 and restaurants/grocery/shops. The guesthouse is an additional dwelling unit to our home and is separated by a staircase that is closed (very little noise and private). It has a private driveway and keypad entry. The unit is a studio style space, with kitchenette, lounge and dining areas. It has a a separate bathroom and walk-in closet with plenty of storage.
The kitchenette includes: coffeemaker (we supply coffee, sugar and half n half), counter-top elements, convection oven (can bake a 12" pizza and brownies) that also functions as a microwave, mini-fridge and a variety of pots, pans, utensils for basic cooking needs. We stock shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the bathroom for guest use.
We live in a quite, friendly neighborhood. Within 5mins drive is a Fred Myer, Trader Joe's, Cinetopia (lazyboy style movie theatre) and numerous eating places including Chipotle, Mod pizza, Starbucks, Sharis and numerous other restaurants. We are a 3 min walk from a large park with mature trees and a playground.
  • Definitely recommend!!!

    Julio2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • The space is very clean and modern. It was smaller than i expected but it was still a great size for me on my own. The wifi took a few tries to get connected but after i reset the router it was fine. The TV is big and has a good picture, it's mounted on the wall and you can rotate it to watch it from the bed. The bed is very comfortable, there are multiple blankets on the bed rather than a duvet. There were so many little extra touches that made it feel very homey. There is a big wardrobe area and a good bathroom with many different disposables for you to use. The kitchen has everything you need and there are different emenerties in the draws and cabinates. Overall i had a great stay and would stay again and recommend the place to anyone.

All your childhood fort dreams have come true in this unique space. A giant hammock—perfect for relaxing underneath skylights, especially on rainy day—spans the space between two cozy lofts, accessible by ladder on one side and a space-saving staircase on the other. The S'more is full of hand-hewn details, like a dining area that folds out for extra sleep space, beautiful reclaimed wood art, a modern tiny kitchen, and so much s'more. The perfect weekend getaway in Portland.
So many opportunities for relaxing fit into this small space. One loft for reading, one loft for sleeping, and an enormous hammock that spans between them, are all ready for kicking back. A breakfast table off of the kitchen area is perfect for enjoying coffee, or sit in the window dining area overlooking the beautiful back yard. The dining space converts into more sleeping space if needed, too. Handsome details are all around, with concrete countertops, custom-designed flooring, and beautiful reclaimed wood art. Let the S'more inspire you to live creatively in a small space. All your childhood fort dreams have come true in this unique space. Then there is the breakfast table. Let’s not forget the carpeted “reading room” loft; and, obviously, the ridiculously huge hammock net that sits under the houses skylights
We are the gateway to hiking and visiting the Columbia Gorge, as well as all of Portland. Generally speaking, our place is about 15 minutes from anywhere you want to be in Portland. We are also an easy shot to and from the airport.
  • Super adorable tiny house in a nice location! Perfect for 2 people. We enjoyed our stay! Super clean and easy to navigate around.

    Joelle2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Had an amazing time experiencing a taste of tiny house living! Loved all the unique touches and the loft net!

    Tori2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • I love this tiny house! From skylights, to the art on the walls, to the style of the appliances, this Air BNB is a prize to the eyes. And despite the compact design, it’s actually not claustrophobic at all! ! It has everything you need right within arm’s reach. Not to mention the net across the ceiling. Sleeping in that net suspended above the kitchen is maybe the coolest thing I’ve ever done. 11/10 would most DEFINITELY book again.

  • Thank you! Wonderful and convenient to stay an extra night in beautiful Portland.

    Hannah2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! A short walk from the yellow line headed downtown and right off of Mississippi Ave, a place with great restaurants and shops. The space was comfortable and nicely decorated (I loved the artwork!), though a bit on the chilly side at night. The bed was firm and cozy but squeaks a bit if you tend to toss and turn.

  • Charming neighborhood. Within walking distance to plenty of amenities.

    Steve2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Adam and Arthur's place was fantastic. Ideally situated near downtown. They were gracious hosts and had all amenities that you would expect from an expensive hotel room. All in all I had a restful and comfortable stay and would highly recommend their place to anyone coming to visit Portland.

  • This is a block away from one of the coolest and most delicious neighborhoods in Portland. Seriously, the three blocks south of this house are absolutely crammed with amazing places to eat and drink, and they are all operated by kind people who care about genuine hospitality. There's even a cool little music venue! The room itself was sparkling clean and entry/exit was easy and straightforward. I had a great experience.

  • What a great place! It had everything we needed and it was a great place to relax. Would definitely stay again when I'm in the area.

  • Adam & Arthur's place was a dream! There was gorgeous, ample natural sunlight, incredibly fun but homey decor, and just everything we could have possibly needed. It took us a minute to find the hidden microwave, but it was great when we finally found it! A&A's place is also in the perfect location, exactly what we were looking for. It's walking distance to a bunch of great little restaurants & shops on Mississippi, and just a short (sub 10 min) drive to Alberta Arts District. We came during the week where restaurants, gyms & bars were closing due to COVID-19, so we ended spending a lot more time in the Airbnb than we usually would. The amenities & comfort of A&A's place could not have been any better for us as we ate, slept, & worked in this beautiful space. Would 100% stay here next time we come to Portland!

    Nancy2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Place was cozy, clean, updated, and in a great location. 10/10 air BnB

  • Very quiet and comfortable. Convenient to restaurants and light shopping. Comfortable furnishings and lovely patio with a gentle fountain. Felt very relaxed and comfortable in the space. Nice sunlight and ventilation

    Judith2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A&A's place was amazing, beautifully decorated, perfectly located. From there, I could easily get to restaurants, cafes, bars. Saw an amazing live show at Mississippi Studio, ate at Lovely Fifty Fifty's, grabbed some acai bowl for breakfast just a block or so away. Check-in/check-out were super easy. Parking spot right in front. Great location to explore and feel homey in NE Portland. I will be back!

This little cottage is the perfect hideaway with everything you need for a lovely, peaceful stay! The decor is fresh and clean with soft furs to compliment the white surroundings! It’s gorgeously decorated With a mix of antique finds and sparkly new class! This cottage is in my back yard where you will have complete privacy as it is separately fenced from my home. You will have cable, WiFi, a complete kitchen set up for cooking! *****IMPORTANT!! Please read the parking instructions!
Guests have access to the whole cottage! It’s a tiny house that is comes with a queen size bed in the Loft! A complete kitchen, a complete bathroom with a tub! It has a 30 gallon water heater...so if you use the hot water up simply wait for a bit and it will reheat more fairly soon. It is a brand new water heater :) It’s adorable and very private! I've added as many amenities as I can to make your stay enjoyable and see to most foreseeable needs. No smoking. No parties. No pets.
The Enchanted Cottage is located near some of my favorite places to eat! Eastlands Sushi, Mcmenamins, Orchid Thai, Pita Pit, and many more! Lots of shopping nearby also...Ross, World Market, Vancouver Mall, Target and more! Also, it is super close to Lacamas Lake...a great place to hike. Not far from The Gorge either of you want to enjoy the many hikes and sights there! Also, there is lots of shopping nearby! The mall is only 10 minutes away and also lots of other shopping even closer! Many restaurants all within 10 minutes!

  • Had a great time staying at this location. Had an overnight stay and needed to do laundry and cook a meal. Perfect overnight stay and comfortable bed. I am a 6'1" large man and this wasn't crowded at all for me.

  • The house was clean, cozy, and beautiful! The bed was more comfortable than expected, and the location is perfect for exploring both Portland and Vancouver in a day or two. Prompt communication and a lovely host! Would recommend to friends and couples for a weekend getaway.

  • Fantastic, cozy place. Everything you need!

    George2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Racchell’s Enchanted Cottage is just that; Enchanting. The decor is cute, chic and welcoming. It is an unexpected hideaway in a neighborhood. The directions for getting in are easy and straightforward, the location is secure. I was able to sleep peacefully and relax after a busy day with family. I don’t recommend for anyone who is looking to be loud or party. This is a relaxing oasis in a neighborhood, perfect for low key traveler or a couple. Not for more then to two people. The loft bed is comfy and doesn’t feel small since the ceiling isn’t super low. Just be aware that you can’t stand up all the way once you are at the top of the stairs, so you need to be able to use your knees. Once up at the top, its comfy to half stand, sit and easy to get into bed and maneuver around. Highly recommend!

    Kaylyn2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Cute tiny house with everything you need and very private! We loved our stay at the enchanted cottage.

    Mei2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed for two nights and were very happy overall. Racchel is SUPER sweet, we messaged frequently before and during my stay and she was quick to respond to any message. We never actually met in person, but she had been so friendly and accommodating, at the end I hardly felt like it had been my first time At one of her stays! We wanted to book the space for one more night and unfortunately had a set back, unfortunately, it was reserved by the time I went to extend it so, BOOK THIS IMMEDIATELY IF YOU WANT IT! Because it will be gone in the blink of an eye if you don’t. It’s a really good value for the price. We were really sad we couldn’t book the last night, but Racchel was quick to offer us another room she had available in her main house . Unfortunately we decided to change locations and didn’t rent it, but absolutely would have, had we stayed in the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Racchel’s“Enchanted Cottage” and really don’t have any “complaints” but here are Just some things we thought good to note (and NONE of this is written in a negative light- we were truly stoked) Just know that the “loft” part of the cottage, isn’t exactly “tall person friendly” at least getting UP/INTO to the loft isnt. I think Racchel mentions this, but the attic style ladder to get up to the loft is prett-y sketchy- it’s sturdy in all, but the small step area and no actual hand rail, combined with the really low ceilings at the top of the ladder (think sort of a cave entrance you have to crawl through) it’s definitely a task to get up there. (If you have bad knees or some sort of Injury, we don’t recommend this space ONLY because that’s the only way to get up to the only place to sleep) HOWEVER! once you do get to the bed, there is plenty of room in the loft- The space is perfect for sleeping and you can get around the bed fine. Plus there is a great window to let in natural light. Just be aware the ceilings are low, my 6’4” boyfriend was able to SIT and lay comfortably, but said being up there definitely made him realize how tall he actually is. I too, had to bend over when standing up (I’m 5’7”)but was obviously more comfortable up there than he was/ Despite it being a task, (and quite possibly humorous) once you make the journey up to the loft, IT IS SO WORTH IT BECAUSE THE BED IS INCREDIBLE!!!!! I kid you not, it’s a trap, that bed is unreal, you WILL sleep all day if you’re not careful and you WILL NOT want to sleep on anything else again ! Honestly, it ended up being where we spent pretty much all of our time (reading, writing, RELAXING) which was great! (Except Having to go up and down the ladder every time we had to use the bathroom) anyway by the end of our stay, we had that ladder pretty familiarized I think- The downstairs has everything you could possibly need, the kitchen is set up with tons of utensils and dishes, Racchel even had bagels and cream cheese in the fridge and coffee pods and creamer- which was a nice touch a and surprise! We didn’t do any cooking, but it’s cool, unlike a lot of small spaces, there’s a full range and full size fridge; so you can cook anything you may want to! The couch in the living room is most definitely more for looks than comfort- (maybe the bed ruined us?) it’s very small and not made for lounging- so before you PLOP on down- just know the back of the couch is very stiff and flat and I could feel the big springs through the bottom cushion depending where I sat. If you get positioned just right, it’s not so bad . There’s only one tv and it’s Downstairs in Front view of that couch, it is a smart tv and has Netflix so We DID somehow manage to both squeeze/cuddle onto the little couch in attempts to watch Something, but we quickly gave that idea up and returned to the cloud bed where we actually had comfort and space. It would be Great with a tv upstairs to watch from the bed, but Honestly, in the end, the not so comfy couch, kept us away from the tv and brought us closer together- instead of binging mindless tv shows and zoning out, we binged on deep conversations and our time together 👍 Okay I’m almost done- promise! Lastly, the Enchanted Cottage is immaculately clean! You would barely know someone was there before you!! DO NOT plan on changing your own hair color or working on that tye-dye project you w been putting off, because I kid you not, EVERYTHING in the cottage is WHITE! Needless to say, it adds a really charming elegance and sense of “enchanted-ness” to the place, just be careful drinking that glass of wine you have to celebrate your time there 😄 We highly recommend this spot and after our experience we can only assume ANY of Racchels listings will be just as awesome. Next time we are in Vancouver, we will totally be checking the availability of her spots first!!!

  • We were pleasantly surprised to find the cottage pre-heated for us, which was nice after a cold, wet day. The bed was spacious and warm. Bathroom had great hot water. Kitchen had all the cutleries required. No complaints! Bed was a little softer than desired, but that's simply personal preference.

    Stephanie2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • There are several things I would like to highlight about my wonderful stay at Zachary and Elena’s place: 1. I was very appreciative of how accommodating Elena was. I was originally supposed to stay back in January but due to bad weather I had to push it back a month. There was no problem at all. One message took care of it. 2. I tend to keep to myself especially when I travel solo. Both Zachary and Elena were very respectful and gave me my privacy the entire time. 3. The bed was super duper comfy! If anything I am always super disappointed in the amount of pillows there are but Elena and Zachary made sure that would not be a problem! So many pillows! And the sheets were heavenly soft. I have stayed in many Airbnb’s and so far, this place takes the cake for comfiest bed. 4. There is an adorable Vizsla mix named Samson who lives there! He is super friendly and enjoyable to be around. Made it easy to be away home from my furbabies! I would 100% stay here again and recommend it to anyone!

    Amanda2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Elena goes far beyond what I expected from an Airbnb host. You will not be disappointed!! The room is wonderful and there is so much thought put into every facet of the experience. 110% recommended!!!

My house is close to light rail and bus lines in a quiet and secure area. Many restaurants, coffee houses and bars are within walking distance and there is a large grocery store nearby in case you need provisions. There are parks within walking distance as is the Adidas campus. My place is good for solo adventurers and business travelers. There is another bedroom that can sleep two and I have an air mattress available.
Private home with 2 bedrooms in the upstairs of the house. Fully equipped kitchen with a laundry room. The stove is gas so please ask for instructions on how it works before using. The back yard is shady and there is a patio with a fireplace. The neighborhood is very quiet and easy to walk around in.
There are quite a few very good restaurants with in walking distance of the house with a sprinkling of coffee houses and bars. Well lit and quiet there are also a couple of parks with in a few blocks. Also a great grocery store is near by.
  • Sheilah’s place was very convenient for my business trip, with many local eateries, coffee shops, gas stations all w/in a few blocks. Quiet neighborhood, very clean and cozy.

    Ann2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sheilah's place was clean and tidy. I appreciated her generosity with supplies - particularly toothpaste as I'd run out of mine - and everything was very comfy. It's also in a great spot with easy parking, not far from the airport, downtown area, or public transit and some really fun neighborhoods. Her guidebook had some excellent recommendations, and it was nice to be able to walk down the street to grab something to eat. However, the doors to the bedroom I slept in didn't lock. I mention it here in case that's a deal breaker for any one else traveling alone who likes to be able to lock their doors while sleeping in an unknown and shared space.

You'll have your own covered front porch and courtyard area to enjoy the fresh air.
Woodlawn, aka the Dekum Triangle, is a cozy residential neighborhood with a small commercial district. There is a trendy bar (Tough Luck), Mexican restaurant (Tamale Boy), and fizzy winery (Hi-Wheel) two blocks away. A six block walk will bring you to the heart of the triangle, with one of Portland's best microbreweries (Breakside), and a number of restaurants, bars and coffee shops. If you're looking for a more upbeat scene, Alberta Street (with destination spots like Salt & Straw, Pine State Biscuit, and Proud Mary) is a mile away, with the beautiful Alberta Park along the way. The airport is conveniently 15 minutes away, as is downtown.
  • Nick's place exceeded our expectations. Parking was available right out front and the smart lock made it so easy to get in and out. The space was a great size and there were lots of places for us to sit and relax. Close to a lot of great places to eat and hang out, but most importantly, it was impeccably clean!

  • Nick's guesthouse is a perfect space for a handful of people looking to do Portland but avoid the hassle of downtown. Stylish, clean, and the loft is a really fun addition! Thanks for the quick communication, local tips, and of course the beer!

  • We were delighted to spend a long weekend at Nick's place. It is well designed and super clean. We were really comfortable and appreciated the assortment of magazines about Portland. When we return to Portland we would be happy to stay there again.

  • A comfortable, modern studio in a great location. Coffee and dinner were a 10 min walk (thanks Nick for the neighborhood guide). We were only in town briefly, so being a 15 min drive from the airport was an additional plus.

  • Fantastic place. Awesome hosts, very hospitable.

    Joey2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, close to town but still out in nature. The treehouse looked small on the outside but had more than enough room on the inside. My boyfriends 6’6 and had no real issues moving around on both floors. The entire tree house was very clean and the bathroom was extremely cute. The owners house was a little closer than expected but never ended up being an issue. I will definitely be back.

    Stephanie2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • We (my 2 sisters and mother) had a FUN tree house adventure. I appreciate the communication and consideration with parking in the rain.

Hello! My name is Elizabeth and my husband is Brett! We are in Vancouver about 18min from Portland Airport. Nice, quiet smoke-free place in a safe neighborhood. Best perk- you can pet the two shiba inus who live here if you would like :) If you need additional rooms/air mattresses, accommodations for more guests, full house rental, long term stay or need rooms when the calendar is blocked off, please reach out as we might be able to accommodate! We welcome all!
The room we have is simple- nothing fancy. Bed, nightstand, and lamp. We are just starting out with airbnb but it is a comfortable and safe place to stay in Vancouver close to Portland! We have two shiba inus who are the true owners of our home! Gatsby is 5 years old and loves belly scratches and human interaction! Twister is our special needs rescue who has been with us about 6 months. He is still a little skittish and does bark a bit at strangers initially. We are hoping that opening our home to guests will help him adjust to visitors in our home over time! He is a sweet soul and LOVES to run! The current room for guests is downstairs that is separated by a door should you want the privacy away from the puppers! Please note that as my husband and I co-host, we only utilize the messaging through the Airbnb platform and do not text/call unless it is an emergency. Please download the Airbnb app for easy messaging! We have an air mattress we can bring out for an additional cost per night if you need additional sleeping arrangements beyond the queen in the guest room.
Our neighborhood is quiet, safe and excellent for morning/evening walks! :)

    Robert2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the cozy apartment at Annalise's place was great. Things we appreciated: - Cleanliness was more than 5-star. It was impeccable! - Felt so private and cozy within the natural setting of trees and greenery. - The little house, itself, was so nice because of the separation of the bedroom from the bathroom & kitchen/family rooms. Just enough furniture to be fully self-contained. - I inadvertently glossed over the fact that there is no Wifi at the little house until we arrived. I was worried at first that my cell service might not work very well. But the good news is that the little house has excellent coverage!

Located between three great neighborhoods (Mississippi, North Williams, Alberta), and in the heart of urban biking, come and stay at my 1984 Bluebird Bus Conversion, a fully equipped independent living space with a private bath and basic kitchenette.
Lady Bluebird is a 1984 Bluebird Bus that has been converted into an RV, a fully private unit. The bus has 320 square feet of comfy living space, including a sitting area with a sleeper sofa, eating area and kitchenette, a full bathroom and a sleeping area. The bed is queen size. The sleeper sofa will accommodate 2. I also have twin sized air mattress available for use. In summary, the bus sleeps two comfortably, but could accommodate 4-5 people :-). In addition to size, this is a bus! As the pictures indicate, the space has a fairly open floor plan! If you are fiercely private, you may find this space a little too cozy. Additionally, the bus can be hot on hot summer days and chilly when it is cold outside. To combat the elements, there are multiple fans and a portable air conditioning unit in the sleeping area to ensure your comfort when sleeping and relaxing. During the winter, there are three portable heaters and a wall panel to cozy up the space. Additionally, you can enjoy sleeping on a heated mattress pad and under a heated blanket. A great excuse to have an extra long snuggle too. <3
Piedmont is a very quaint residential neighborhood filled with tree-lined streets and old craftsman homes, and located equidistant to many growing hot spots in NE/N Portland (Mississippi, North Williams, Alberta District, Dekum). Several grocery stores and lots of local coffee shops are within walking distance. A lovely community rose garden is at Peninsula Park, just a few short blocks down the street. You can also access to several major bus routes and designated bikeways from this neighborhood. It boasts the best that Portland has to offer (my unbiased opinion ;-))
  • The bus is so much fun! It is in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood close to Mississippi and with easy access to I-5. Definitely a magical, unique stay :). Very cozy!

  • This place was so cool- it took me back to where I grew up. The host put a lot of thought in keeping it true to its roots of being a bus- but modern and comfortable as well. :)

My place is a tiny house/garage conversion close to restaurants, shopping, bus line, 14 miles from downtown Portland, 15 miles from Portland Airport. Be sure to ask about best times to cross into Portland to avoid traffic! My place is good for couples, solo travelers, older children (due to loft), and well behaved pets who are used to new places. We have a ZERO tolerance for drugs and illegal activity so if you are looking for a place to distribute, this is not your place.
After entering our yard, you'll have a private entrance and private fenced in yard space. Inside you'll love the cozy apartment with a tiny house feel complete with a fun loft bedroom upstairs. The loft has an A-frame ceiling about 6'3'' high at its peak. It offers just enough walking space to walk to your bed or chair. I live next door in the main house, which is older and being renovated.
Our home is in a suburban area with our neighbors house next to the Airbnb yard.
  • Rachel and Jeff were great hosts. I really appreciated how responsive they were. Their place is extremely cute and ideal for those visiting the area. It's cheap, and in a great location right to downtown Portland.

Listen to the sounds of rushing water as you sleep in this beautifully finished cabin style tree house. I was recently featured in The Atlantic online magazine article on tree houses. You can find it in the video section of the online magazine.
This tree house is like a tiny house in a tree yet very comfortable with a "full size" bed. There is a microwave oven and a mini fridge. The stairs wind around the tree to the porch. The guest bathroom is in the main house 30 feet from the tree house. I have pictures of it in the photo section.
I love that I live along the Washougal River, it's my little slice of heaven. Even though it's right in town, I feel like I live in a vacation home year round.
  • What a beautiful space! Brian did a great job making the treehouse into a cozy place for one or two. Would certainly return

    Ben2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Brian is a darling, sharing his adorable treehouse and grounds on the river, his house is amazing and he is so welcoming. The treehouse is sturdy and delightful, with a porch that puts you directly above the rushing waters of the Washougal River. The sounds of the river, birds and ducks, is magical. Brian is a lovely host, there was no problem using his house for the bathroom and shower, and he enthusiastically shares his "slice of heaven" with good cheer. Lovely little Dobby is sweet and gentle and happy. Try this adventure, you will remember this one for the rest of your life !

    Heidi2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse was perfect. I spent most of my time on the porch of the treehouse under a blanket reading my book. Brian was so hospitable with coffee/cookies available and access to the main house. We loved our time here.

Newly-constructed 300 sq foot tiny house just a 7 min bike ride from Alberta Arts & Fremont districts, shops and restaurants. Nestled on a large quiet urban plot with an organic garden, fruit trees, and a sweet pup. The best of both city & country!
This tiny house is brand new, designed and built in 2015. This charming yet modern vacation home sits back on a large urban lot in a quiet neighborhood in NE Portland. Just a 5 min drive or 10 minute bike ride from many urban gems: the famous Alberta Arts District, locally owned shops, a large natural grocery store and a food-co-op, a non-profit yoga studio, bike shops, bars, bakeries, and many coffee shops and restaurants in this food lover's mecca. You'll feel like you're in a quiet country cottage, but you'll truly be in the heart of the city: only a 10 minute drive to downtown Portland, 2 miles from the nearest Max station, a few blocks from a bus stop and only 4 miles (about $15 cab ride) from Pdx Airport. The house includes: Full kitchen with brand new appliances, hot water kettle and French press. Full bathroom with with on-demand hot water for shower and a composting toilet. Two lofted (low ceiling) full-sized bedrooms with new queen-sized mattresses. Note: the bedrooms do not have doors. The main bedroom (North Loft) has plenty of space to store clothes and other personal items. Clothes dryer of your own but *washer died on us Nov 2018* Will update this when we get a new one. Ample street parking right in front of the house. Free Wi-Fi available to all guests. Guests may also utilize our 1/4 acre yard and hammock (in the dry season). This house is on a grey-water system, not connected to the septic system. The bathroom does have a hot shower, but all water drains to a greywater system. We provide complimentary biodegradable soaps for our guests. The toilet is a composting toilet that is cleaned after each guest's stay. Please help us keep the land chemical free.
We are located blocks from the Alberta Arts District, in the quieter sister neighborhood of Cully. • Easy to check in, reliable and warm communication, clean and courteously decorated space with helpful tips and fun details.

  • We had never stayed in a tiny house before, so starting with this experience made us want to explore other tiny houses around the country. The bathroom and kitchen are impressively funcional for a tiny house. I can’t recommend enough. The hostesses are super responsive and the house is as cute and cozy as you see on the pictures. Go see with your own eyes!!

Cozy apartment in a vintage Craftsman bungalow. Rose City Park, great neighborhood with restaurants and coffee shops in walking distance. Travel to airport and freeways easily. This a great spot to stay while exploring Portland.
This is a 100 year old Portland home with a lovely grove of trees out your door. The living room has a leather couch which folds out to a queen sized Memory Foam mattress. Your door is glass and opens to a beautiful forested yard. Although it does not have mechanical air conditioning, as a basement it is cool on the hottest of days.
This is a wooded neighborhood with lots of vegetation and interesting old houses. It's great for walking or riding a bike. Portland is divided into neighborhoods, each with its own theater, restaurants, stores. We are in Rose City Park, right up the hill from Hollywood. There are coffee shops, theaters, and restaurants nearby. within 5 minutes are Safeway, Whole foods, Trader Joe's, New Seasons and Fred Meyer.
  • this apartment is tucked away in a cute little neighborhood. My partner and I needed a place for a night in Portland and this was absolutely perfect. We were able to check in a little early which made such a different. She is an awesome host and she had super quick response times. Absolutely amazing communication. The apartment itself is absolutely adorable and the space is beyond perfect. Thanks again !

  • A lovely cozy place, very comfortable for 4 of us. The mattresses and pillows are comfortable. My friends slept very well. It is conveniently located, 10 minutes or less to places to eat, etc.

    Grace2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • An all around great stay not too far from PDX. Comfortable and clean with thoughtful touches.

    Lance2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Patricia’s place is a clean, cozy apartment in a cute neighborhood of Portland. I was only in town for a night so needed a decently priced spot that was convenient to the airport. Her place fit the bill. There was a surprising amount of natural light for a ground floor unit. The kitchen, living area, bedroom and bathroom were all very clean and comfortable. The self check in process was so easy and I appreciated being able to come and go without hassle. Fantastic spot!

  • A cute little house that is conveniently located near the I-5. We loved the little touches left by the host!

    Christina2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • I've stayed at quite a few airbnb's; Kyle's place is far and away the most impressive. His place hits all the marks--clean, true to description, safe, value, etcetera. For the price, I am sure there is nothing better in the area. It seems as though Kyle honestly enjoys having this space for people to enjoy, the amenities are thoughtful and calculated. A high-brow experience!

    Chase2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Location was a very quiet area and quick to get to Portland. Hospitality was amazing. We were able to leave our luggage prior to check in so we didn’t have to drag them around while traveling. Bnb was super clean and things were easy to find. Lots of access to streaming services on the tv. Overall I would definitely stay here again. I loved every second of it.

  • If you're reading these reviews, believe them and just book it already!! I read through them before I booked this place too, and they are true. This place was an amazing getaway for our girls trip. There is not one thing I can complain about! Well, except the lock to the Suite was a little strange, but that may have been user error. Haha! But seriously, this place is so much more than what it even shows here. Hidden gem! We will definitely be back!

    Ericka2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • A well needed and fantastic retreat, affordable and dreamlike!

    Milo2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Across the NW, there are many beautiful places but few offer the serenity of a cozy cabin in the cedars next to a cascade of sparkling water. This is a true gem. If you can stay here a few days, you will cherish the serene mountain light, the cool fresh smell, and the peaceful soothing sound for many months to follow.

    Frank2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful property, comfortable beds & fantastic covered outdoor space. We had a great stay!

    Kelly2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • It was hidden gem in the woods. My family loved the fire pit, lifesize chess board, bbq grill and seating area. Mostly the creekside water flowing throughout the property. You will find yourself not wanting to leave.

Featured in the NY Times! This gorgeous custom home is the biggest little house on the block with raw wood throughout, a chefs kitchen, and a bed you won't want to leave. In the heart of Alberta you're a short walk from food, drink, parks and art.
This home was expertly designed and built by our family and completed in 2013. The southern window wall attracts frequents admirers from the street, and bathes the home in a warm glow. We built our home with food in mind, and the kitchen is well stocked with a five burner gas range, tons of butcher block counter space and big island for all your portland inspired culinary adventures. You're just a short walk from farmers markets and New Seasons, our exceptional local grocery store. Throughout the home you'll find exposed Doug Fir, Walnut, Oak and Cherry and a Jotul wood stove to keep you warm at night. The sofa bed turns in to a comfortable queen sized bed for additional guests.
Alberta Arts offers a wonderful mix of quiet streets and family homes with easy walking access to exceptional restaurants, bars, theaters, grocery stores, and coffee shops. The home is on Going Street, which is one of portland's "bike boulevards" optimized for biking around the city without heavy interaction with car traffic.
  • Had to cancel trip last minute due to COVID-19 pandemic, but James was super responsive and understand. I’ll be back!

  • What a great Place. We will definitely be coming back when we are in town to see friends. Thank you James:)

    Christopher2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at the cottage! We brought our two medium/large dogs and it was absolutely perfect! James provided a very clean and welcoming environment including delicious coffee from a local shop! The location is nestled safely in the most beautiful neighborhood and was close to local parks for our pups and a quick 10 min uber ride into downtown. Public transit or biking would probably get you there even faster tbh! There are tons of TriMet stops around the area. We are hoping to move to Portland and this perfect stay in Alberta Arts has us motivated to start planning!

    Heather2020-03-12T00:00:00Z

Welcome to our cozy, tranquil and tiny hexagon hut! It is a detached unit with private entrance and shared bathroom (in our family home). Simple, inspiring and cheerful space with clay walls, lots of plants, a full size sofa bed that sleeps 1-2, lovely natural light from big windows, sun roof and french doors. Located in the Arbor Lodge neighborhood of North Portland with a two minute walk to coffee, restaurants and bus lines. Three blocks from local grocery store, cafe and the Max station.
The bathroom is shared and in the main house but you do not have to go through any rooms or the main part of the house to access it. It's just right inside from the back door. While access to kitchen is not available, there are many inexpensive food options very close by. For a quick AM coffee, you can stay in your PJs, walk one minute to the nearby GrindHouse coffee cart and come back to enjoy your morning...we do that a lot! We have a friendly cat who wanders but not into the hut.
The Arbor Lodge/Kenton area is a charming and accessible neighborhood with just the right balance of buzz and quiet. There are multiple parks within walking distance including our favorite Peninsula Park with its dreamy rose garden and beautiful fountain. So many choices for food and drinks all within walking distance but we have a soft spot for Thai Ginger, Blackbird Pizza, Burritos Azteca and Arbor Lodge Coffee Shop. Firelight Yoga is less than a mile away and so are some of the sweetest neighborhood pubs such as The Old Gold and Backyard Social. We love it here!
  • Great value for a quick stop in Portland!

    Leslie2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great spot. I’m grateful to have landed here after several months abroad to regroup for the next journey. Heidi is super friendly and the space is tiny and cozy. I’d definitely stay here again and loved being so close to coffee and the market.

    Allison2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, clean, comfy, and thoughtfully outfitted. A great place to stay. And her cat is adorable.

    Tristan2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely space made all the better by the nearby coffee bodega and Chilton the cat!

    Michael2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great little spot, Heidi is an awesome host. Blocks from the max line (Tram) that takes you right downtown, way cheaper than a cab or uber and it runs very late. Great price, the bathroom is steps away in their house but is in no way awkward or uncomfortable to use. I would stay here again when I go back.

    Matt2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Super cute and clean, very private and quiet. Loved the hanging plants and the very friendly greeter Chilton the cat

    Kolby2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Many things to do nearby. Keep in mind that you do have to walk outside for about 15 feet or so to use the toilet/shower while its sunny, raining, or snowing. I didn't mind it at all. The system in place worked out perfect. Definitely recommend!

    Rene2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
