After after a hectic day retire to the hot tub for some R & R and watch the sun go down! Only 15 mins from City Centre, Cardiff Bay
Great for couples looking to relax and explore, great walks, pubs, cycle paths and local attractions
We are based in the welsh countryside surrounded by arable farmland, there are stunning walks, rides and we're just 10-15mins from cardiff citty centre. Within walking distance is the Cefn Mably Arms a lovely country pub and the Maenllwyd Inn a cracking gastro pub
  • The lodge on the lake is ideal for a couples getaway. We had enough space to store our luggage, and the pull out bed was easy to use and a great use of space. The hot tub is fantastic and we spent most of the weekend bubbling away. Even when it was colder at night outside it was still worth the short dash to the hot tub! The wifi was excellent and meant we could use netflix with ease. There is a handbook which tells you how to use everything and includes some local activities. We would happily stay here again!

  • Owen's place was great - the hot tub was a particular highlight, even in the windy weather of Storm Ciara!

  • Quiet little hut with hot tub by a small lake with beautiful view - perfect for relaxation! Recommended!

  • My partner and I had such a lovely long weekend here! Needed a relaxing break to escape the real world for a little bit and this was the perfect place. Hot tub was great and the cooking facilities were perfect, cooked some steak which we brought from the farm shop which is 2 minutes up the road! No oven but not an issue to us! Remote area which is ideal! We have no complaints whatsoever. Thank you for a wonderful weekend.

    Becky2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin on the lake is wonderful setting, off the beaten track but not feeling remote. Excellent wi-fi, hot tub was amazing and my only negative was that there is no oven!

    Samantha2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Lodge on the lake was very peaceful just what you need for a relaxing getaway. The cabin was very clean and to our expectations. It had all the cooking facilities you need to cook with. There is a small cooker/hob and a microwave. The shop is a little pricey so do a small shop before hand. Would definatley recommend staying here and I'm sure well be back.

    Toni2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Whatever you think to expect from this pod, it will impress you - great facilities, great location, and you'll have a great long weekend, whether you just want to stay cosy to read/write/indulge in beautiful quiet surroundings, or pootle into Caerphilly or Cardiff to explore the castles and other delights of this area of Wales. Genuinely couldn't have had a better weekend and would heartily recommend this place to anyone.

    Lee2019-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a ‘has to be seen to be believed’ holiday, cleaner than you’d expect, the hot tub was bubbling away invitingly on arrival and the scenery is breathtaking, without a doubt one of the most relaxing weekends we have had. Highly recommended

The message responses were super quick and when I messaged to say that I had left my fleece, he sent it straight to me first class!!! You don’t get many hosts like that!!!!! Thanks so much for our stay!

  • My stay here couldn’t have been better, the lodge was absolutely spotless in the most amazing setting. Check-in was easy and staff were happy to help and gave us all information we needed. Helpful and quick responses were given whenever needed. The lodge was stunning and in an amazing location, only 20 mins in a taxi to the city centre but far enough away to be a quiet location to relax.

  • Amazing little cottage. Set in a beautiful area. True hidden gem. Views from the hot tub are amazing. Everything you could possibly need is at the cottage. Janet and Mike are amazing hosts

    Necia2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Felt very welcome, the house is very cosy, and the countryside is stunning. Unfortunately the hot tub wasn't operational due to high winds which was understandable.

    Simon2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic break! Myself, wifey, children and Trigger the dog had such a great time at Forest Cottage. Janet and Mike are such lovely people and great hosts! Not that we needed much as we had everything we wanted, but if there was anything they were always there to help. The log burner was so nice, Mike was always topping the logs up and making sure we had enough. The hot tub was unbelievable, the views were incredible, and an hour a day is perfect! We must have had rain everyday but that did not dampen our spirits or effect our stay one bit. The cottage was so warm and comfortable staying in wouldn’t of been a problem! Although we did venture out with Trigger the dog, and saw some fantastic sights and views while walking the fields. We can’t wait to come back, especially to experience such a beautiful place in the summer.

    Wayne2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely cottage with so much character and the most beautiful views from the hot tub. It's my second time staying here and would definitely stay again

  • Pedro and Alina's place was fantastic and the hospitality second to none! Such a wonderful and welcoming couple who really made us feel at home in their home. The bedroom and bathroom were spotless (as was the rest of the house!) and beautifully decorated, it felt like a boutique hotel! We were able to come and go as we pleased, the location was great - only a short walk from the town centre and some nice coffee shops and bars within a couple of mins walk. All in all we had a fantastic trip, made all the better by Pedro and Alina, and would therefore highly recommend!

  • This was my first ever time staying at an Airbnb, so although I have no frame of reference I can't deny that this is truly deserving of 5 stars. Pedro & Alina are excellent hosts and they really make you feel at home. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

  • Pedro and Alina’s apartment was lovely, very clean and stylish with a great atmosphere and view, just like the pictures. The location was perfect overlooking the river and close to plenty of shops, restaurants and the cinema. They were very welcoming hosts and we had a great weekend☺️

  • This was my first time using Air B&B and I am so glad I picked this flat. I would highly recommend coming to stay with Pedro and Alina in this apartment. They are so hospitable and friendly, and the decor in the space is beautiful and contemporary. Pedro made my boyfriend and I coffees before we left which was a nice touch. Very clean and we were given our own space - nothing to fault on this trip. AMAZING!

Pontypool (Welsh: Pont-y-pŵl [ˌpɔntəˈpuːl]) is a town that is home to approximately 36,000 people in the county borough of Torfaen, within the historic boundaries of Monmouthshire in South Wales It is situated on the Afon Lwyd river in the county borough of Torfaen. Situated on the eastern edge of the South Wales coalfields, Pontypool grew around industries including iron and steel production, coal mining and the growth of the railways. A rather artistic manufacturing industry which also flourished here alongside heavy industry was Japanning, a type of lacquer ware. Pontypool has a notable history as one of the earliest industrial towns in Wales. The town and its immediate surroundings were home to significant industrial and technological innovations, with links to the iron industry dating back to the early fifteenth century when a bloomery furnace was established at Pontymoile During the sixteenth century, largely due to the influence of the Hanbury family, the area developed its association with the iron industry and continued to consolidate its position in the seventeenth century, when the development of the town began in earnest. Throughout the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, the metallurgical and extractive industries of the area, along with the development of the canals and railways, provided the impetus to the expansion of Pontypool and its surrounding villages and communities. its very green here and we love out doors stuff like shooting fishing and mountain biking.. the walks are bracing or leisurely based on your inclination and the people are really friendly the outlying areas vary from the true Valleys where Tom Jones was born to buzzy Abergavenny and Usk
  • We have just came back from a long weekend at Serafinas b&b. Really relaxed the whole time. Bed was so comfortable and so was the sofa, couldn’t decide which one to sit and watch Netflix on. Choice of breakfast is provided in your room with tea coffee and also orange juice! I really recommend if you’d like a relaxed weekend away. Food at the Lower new inn is also a great choice for dinner, we went both nights! It’s about 5-6 minutes drive from the b&b. Thank you for a great stay.

  • Emma and Charles' house is just incredible. I stayed here with a group of friends for a relaxed New Years celebration and while we were all excited by the look of the house it exceeded all our expectations. Really well equipped with thoughtful touches like toiletries in the bathrooms, tonnes of space and just hugely impressive. We've stayed in a lot of Airbnbs over the years and this is the first time we've felt as though we couldn't possibly find anywhere better - we'd love to stay again if Emma and Charles will have us!

    Holly2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Ten lifelong friends had such a fabulous break at this splendid residence. The house was the icing on the cake. The space enabled us all to dine together and spend time together. So very well equipped and the fact that we could use all the house, made us feel so welcomed . The weather was good enough to sit outside too. We did have a BBQ in the late summer sunshine which was great fun. We loved the back story and context to the historical renovations and we really wish you the best of luck.

    Judith2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • This house is absolutely incredible. The whole group loved it. The hosts are fab and were on hand for anything if we needed it. We are so grateful to them for letting us stay here. If you get the opportunity to, then do it! You will not be disappointed.

    Bec2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a fantastic place to spend a few days - look no further! This house is grand, stylish, comfortable and quirky all in one. The beds are very cosy - we loved the house and gardens so much instead of exploring we never left them. Thanks Emma and Charles.

    Jo2019-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • If you happen to need accommodations in the Newport area, you can not do better than the Fields House. The house has been lovingly restored, keeping much of the authenticity of the original construction while at the same time introducing some modern touches where appropriate. There are five unique bedrooms (2 with private baths), as well as a loft that is perfect for children. In addition to the sleeping space, there is plenty of space throughout the house to relax, eat, read, or whatever else might suit your group members. It's a fantastic property, and worth seeing in its own right for anybody who appreciates grand historic architecture. The location is not central, but with a car it is reasonably easy to access the main roads into and out of town. We took several day trips during our stay, and while I would strongly advise against any driving during rush hour, we were easily able to reach the sites, restaurants, and other places we wished to go. Coming back to this house after a day of sightseeing is great- it's so easy to spread out and decompress. One thing to be aware of is that the stairs are numerous and steep; my parents are in their 70s and were easily able to handle them, so certainly not an issue for most, but could be for some. If you choose to stay here, you will also get to experience a high level of hospitality- this is a home, not a vacation rental. The owners are incredibly welcoming and trusting, and it is apparent from the moment you walk in that this is a place that people live in and care for.

    Joe2019-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot rate Fields House, and Emma and Charles, highly enough. The house is utterly wonderful and Emma and Charles were so thoughtful and attentive. You couldn't wish for a better place to stay.

Check-in/out was smooth and easy, and the fully-equipped kitchen is a bonus if you want to cater for yourselves. Ideal for a short break away for a couple, especially if you want to explore some of the various sights which are on offer in easy reach. Thanks Jason!

Breakfast is laid out beautifully in the kitchen with an assortment of cereals plus nuts, fruit, yoghurt and bread with various spreads. The radio plays classic FM gently in the background. You will not be disappointed:)

A welcoming and stylish environment with full use of kitchen and amenities, dining room and garden. The bed is a small double. Room has comfortable seating area for Netflix and Sky viewing. Have as much tea and coffee throughout your stay as you would like. Breakfast is self-serve of cereal, toast and preserves. Owner of house is friendly but not intrusive and has two cute dogs. My home is a short distance to the Celtic Manor, ICC and M4 junction 24 Coldra Roundabout.
Has own gate and entrance to guest part of property. The room is open and airy with space to sit down and watch T.V. or sit at the desk with your laptop. It's generally a quiet environment within a quiet location. The bathroom has a double sized shower with adjoining make-up/ hair drying facilities. Hospitality toiletries are provided. The patio doors go out to the pleasant and well kept back garden with pathway to your own gated entrance.
The property is located one mile from the Celtic Manor and ICC. South Wales is a wonderful location with several castles within minutes of the property which is literally five minutes away from the Prince of Wales Bridge. The house is situated on the outskirts of Newport within a quiet cul-de-sac. Cardiff and Bristol are both 20 minutes away - depending on traffic of course! Despite being so close to the M4 within 1 minute of junction 24 you wouldn't know you were anywhere near a motorway.

  • Sarah was a wonderful host. We didn't realise that AirBnB would involve sharing a space with someone and we were pleasantly surprised. Sarah has a great sense of humour and was really accommodating to our needs. We spent time chatting and getting to know each other. I would highly recommend staying here just to meet Sarah as she is a remarkable woman and has lots of interesting stories to tell. The room we had included an en-suite and had it's own access. The kitchen was shared with Sarah and was lovely. Everything you could need was there and available to use. Sarah communicated well with us before hand and welcomed us by waiting outside so we could see what house was hers (evening though it was absolutely freezing). Don't hesitate to book this place, it was perfect.

    Rebecca2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful first experience with Air B&B will definitely be back to stay. Our host was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area we wanted to explore. We were made to feel very much at home and the spotless amenities and special touches were fantastic. The kitchen and dining facilities were more than we ever expected and fresh fruit and choices of bread cereals etc were a lovely touch. I would highly recommend staying here definitely 5*+

Hi, I am renting the spare double room in my 2 bed terraced house which I live in with my cat, Billy. It has recently been decorated and I love the way it looks and feels. You would be sharing the bathroom with me so I would discuss when you needed it and work to suit you. Shower is a beaut. Maindee area of Newport. 20 minute walk into town centre. 5minute walk to Local pubs, restaurants, coffee shops and convenience stores. 5 minute drive from the Celtic Manor & town centre.
You can use the kitchen and living room too - I want you to feel at home. I don't have any programmes that I watch religiously, and have Netflix, so if we are both in I'm sure we can find something that we both like!
  • Lovely room, lovely host, I really enjoyed my stay at Sarah place.

    Dave2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah is a very hospitable young lady. After I arrived in Newport that afternoon, I was late for the appointment time because I was not familiar with the route. But she still waited for me at home, and gave me tea after warming up. I talked about it, it was very warm. In addition, the room was very clean and it felt like it was in your own home. It is highly recommended for those who want to go to the National Park and Cardiff. Newport can be used as a base. It is very convenient to get to the popular cities around by the train. The ticket price is very close to the people.

The summerhouse is quirky and fun, and is situated down a quiet lane on the banks of the River Usk. It would suit a couple or single person looking for relaxation in a quiet environment yet near local amenities. I love my garden and bonfire area, perfect for a romantic evening, weather pending. The bonfire can’t be used if its recently rained, it’s in my garden which would get muddy. The private lane gets a bit muddy if raining heavily. I can recommend excellent food home delivery companies
Lovely pub with river views 4 minutes walk. Half a mile from the Roman village of Caerleon, with Amphitheatre and many village pubs and restaurants.
  • Lovely quirky little space, this tiny place is pretty cool. Emma the host was friendly and helpful. The Indian takeaway on the list Emma left was devine. Definitely be back.

Emma even left some dog bowls out for my husky. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again and would definitely recommend to friends and family. The cabin is well designed and much bigger than it appears to be. Thanks for a wonderful stay Emma, see you again soon! :) x

    Daniel2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • This little house is surprisingly bigger than you expect and it’s certainly better than just a bedroom in a plastic hotel. Emma as a host is so caring and goes out of her way to ensure you are settled and happy. Her food parcel as I called was totally unexpected and very welcome more than just a breakfast there was a full larder there Bed is really comfy and the bathroom is clean and well appointed It’s a great quirky place ideal for singles or couples Close to a good pub serving great food and just off the M4 it couldn’t be better located It was so good I stayed for 2 not the planned 1 night.. Be brave give it a go you won’t be disappointed and it’s great value for your money

A good sized bedroom, with comfortable beds, tea and coffee facilities and great TV provision along with handy bathroom facilities in the next room. Great feature window view from their elevated position over central Newport, with the Transporter Bridge in clear view, framed by the central cable stayed bridge and coat hanger bridge over the River Usk. Lovely house being tastefully restored and upgraded into a fine early Twentieth Century dwelling, celebrating the many original period features within. Highly recommended! A1++++++

Kings House is a listed building which is over 250 years old and situated next to the River Usk in the historic town of Caerleon. We are surrounded by wonderful views and many local attractions such as The Roman Baths, Museum and Amphitheatre. The Caerleon Arts Festival from June to August features local musicians and a craft fair. The Hanbury Arms which sits overlooking the River Usk is next to Kings House and serves excellent food.
  • Lovely welcoming host. Gorgeous large room and a great comfortable double bed. Nice quiet area close to everything. Large bathroom with shower and bath, which was a bigger room than some hotels I've stayed at! Small separate kitchen area with cooker, fridge etc which was an unexpected bonus. No hesitation to recommend as a superb venue and will stay here again without question.

I have a large 4 bedroom house just off Corporation Road in Newport. This room is the rear bedroom next to the shower room and it has a king double bed, two wardrobes and a side table. There is 1 tenant in the house and the rest of the rooms are available for guests to book through Airbnb. The room is private and can be locked but the communal spaces are shared. It has wifi throughout and also Sky TV in the living room.
The house has 4 bedrooms and is on the end of a terrace of houses. There's on-street parking and a side road if it's busy.
There is a park opposite the main road, and there are many shops and take-aways nearby. The main road is also a bus route through the city.

  • Our host was so lovely, she had gone away for the night so we made use of her self check-in which was easy and foolproof. My friend and I really enjoyed the stay, the room was lovely and cosy, the shower was lovely and hot after a long drive through the storm. Parking space right outside the location. Lovely host, great communication and wonderful stay :)

    Meghan2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Emily's place was perfect for my few days working away from home. The large bed was super comfy, and the shower was fantastic! I was even able to use the kitchen to make my own food, which is really helpful for me. I didn't see Emily much, but she made me feel very welcome. The room was warm and cosy, and the breakfast items/snacks provided were a bonus (although I felt compelled to eat things I wouldn't normally haha). I would be happy to stay again when I'm next working in the area.

  • I was working long hours locally and found Emily's home a great place to stay. It was really quiet, comfortable bed and a super hot shower that helped me defrost after working out in the cold all day..! It really felt like I had my own private space which was perfect for me. Emily was also kind enough to let me use her kitchen to make a meal in the evening. She made me feel very welcome and relaxed in her home. I would definitely stay again. I also fell in love with her super cute cat: Paws.

  • Lovely spacious but equally cosy house and cottage in a great location. Easily accommodate 10 people in the big house and a further 4 in the smaller coattge, plus dogs and toddlers. The hosts were great at communicating, they sent us everything we needed before check in so we didn't have to worry about anything. They left us alone for the whole stay and we were far enough away so that we did not bother the neighbours. The house was well stocked with wood for the wood burner which was appreciated, and it was lovely and clean. Would definitely stay again.

  • We arrived on a wet dark evening, but the farmhouse was warm and welcoming with lamps lit and music playing. It’s a gorgeous house, lovely bedrooms and plenty of space for a large family. We were there with our family for our annual weekend away with a new addition, our 5 month old granddaughter. We had everything we needed and there were lovely additions like milk in the fridge and welsh cakes to have with our cup of tea. We enjoyed the spacious cosy lounge and dining room and made use of the choice of games provided. We had a lovely welcome from Anne our host, who was close by if we had any problems (which we didn’t). A great choice for our stay and a recommendation from us.

Only saw Anne once and after that she left us to it. Town centre is nice and only a short walk away, we ate at The red lion pub and the food and ale were both excellent, staff really friendly too and they allow dogs in the bar area

Beautiful spacious but also cosy and welcoming house in a lovely location, very easy to get to and easily accommodated 14 people plus dogs and kids. The house was clean and well stocked with wood for the fire which was appreciated. The hosts Anne and Rob sent me all info in a timely way so I didn't have to ask for anything, we were left alone and the neighbours seemed at a good distance to not disturb them either which was a relief. The cottage next door was lovely and cosy but also stylish. Loved staying here and would stay again without a doubt.

Perfectly located house close to Cwmbran town centre that can accommodate 2 guests in a comfortable double bed in a clean and fresh room
Welcome to my home and I hope the following gives you an idea of what you’re going to book? The House: I live in a 2 bedroomed house and you will have use of my second bedroom that has recently been decorated and has a new comfortable double bed. Downstairs there is a cosy yet bright living room which we will share and there is a TV with terrestrial TV plus Netflix & Amazon Prime....I’ll even let you have charge of the remote control :-) There is also a small stereo unit for entertainment plus Alexa devices throughout the house. There is a downstairs toilet (to save that dash upstairs!). Upstairs are the 2 bedrooms (yours and mine) and a bathroom – well actually a shower room with a good sized shower cubicle. In your room I will leave a towel to save you having to pack one as they take up so much room, some toiletries if you’ve forgotten anything plus there is a small / medium sized wall mirror for that last minute check on how gorgeous you are! There are hangars available on the doors to hang clothes from, plus you will also have the use of a number of drawers in the tall set of drawers to put your bits & pieces. There is a desk and chair in the room should you need a workstation and please be advised that although my computer is in your room but I won’t ever use it when you are occupying the space – your privacy and comfort is important to me. You will also find a folder with information leaflets in about things to do in the local areas (and some things a bit further afield). Outside is a patio area with table and chairs plus a parasol for those hot summer days (as the back garden is south-facing and gets lots of sun). I occasionally fire up the chimnea on chilly summer evenings when it’s too nice to be inside – just make sure you don’t sit too close to it or it’ll warm your wine or beer up! Location: The house is conveniently situated very close to Cwmbran town centre and you can easily walk there in just 5 minutes where you will find a good range of shops and most of the town is under cover. If you need to drive to the town it will take you about 2-3 minutes to do so and it is all free parking. There are 3 supermarkets within close walking proximity with one of them being open 24 hours should you have forgotten anything. In town is the main bus station (although there is a bus stop just 3 minutes’ walk from the house) with regular services to Newport (10 - 15 minute journey), Cardiff (approx. 30 minutes) and to other towns in South Wales. The railway station is a 15 minute walk from the house (or less than 5 minutes if you take your car and there is free parking at the station). ‘Downline’ is Newport (approx. 10 minutes) and Cardiff (approx. 20 minutes). It goes on to West Wales if you fancy a day out. The train line also goes ‘Upline’ to Manchester and calls at various historic towns / cities along the way. Cwmbran is conveniently situated for jumping on to the M4 and you can drive to Cardiff in under 30 minutes or Bristol in about 40 minutes. Other things to see or do in or around the Cwmbran area are: •Roman Amphitheatre and museum in Caerleon (just 15 minutes away). •Tredegar House & Duffryn Gardens in Newport (approx. 20 minutes away) •Heritage Railway in Blaenavon (approx. 15 minutes away) •Big Pit and the Iron Works in Blaenavon (Heritage site) •Landegfedd reservoir with walks and water sports available (approx. 10 minute drive) •Cwmcarn Forest Drive and Cwmcarn Mountain Bike Centre (less than 30 minutes’ drive) •Lots of castles…well this is Wales after all!! •A visit to Cardiff is a must as it’s a lovely friendly capital city where you will find museums; castle; the Principality rugby stadium; Cardiff Bay and loads more Parking I live in a cul-de-sac so parking can on occasions be tight but there is safe on-street parking. Miscellaneous: If you can’t get about to do some sightseeing as you are staying on business I’m sure you’ll be back at some point to discover what’s in the area. The house rules are fairly simple – no smoking in the house + no shoes / food / drink in the carpeted areas. The most important thing however is…..relax and enjoy yourself! I really hope you enjoy your stay with me and I’m looking forward to meeting you. Carole
Close to town centre and amenities. I live in a 2 bedroomed mid-link house.

I have a huge en suite bedroom in a shared house in Newport. It's centrally located with good access routes and amenities nearby. With plenty of on street parking it's easy to access. The house has 4 bedrooms and has a tenant along with other Airbnb guests. The house has Wifi and Sky Tv as well.
The Room and en-suite bathroom are for your sole use, communal areas are for everyone in the house. Please be respectful of the tenant and keep areas clean especially the kitchen. There is also a Newport wide recycling policy so if in doubt then just ask.
There is a park on the other side of the main road and there are plenty of local shops nearby.
  • Nice place to stay!!
