  • We both had a lovely stay at this gateway and enjoyed exploring the local towns. Very comfy and dog friendly.

  • We had such an amazing time at the Shepard’s Hut. It was a perfect space for two and had everything we needed. The chose the wettest, windiest weekend but it didn’t matter was we had so much fun staying cosy inside the hut watching films on the iPad. We didn’t have a car but it’s pretty easy to get to without one. We got a train from London and one of Sues taxi friends picked us up to take us to the hut. Thank you so much for an amazing weekend. We will definitely be back.

  • Great little hut. In closed garden... overlooking 3 sheep in a field! Brilliant use of space in the hut. Everything you need to cook! We used the BBQ in january and was lovely still! Logs for fire. Warms up super quick! Lots of lovely walks nearby the countryside on the doorstep! Charlie's farm shop was a must have and it being under a mile away is perfect! Easy check in and out.... Such a lovely cosy hut! And Sue was a great host!

  • Fantastic place to stay. Super cosy shepherds hut even in January - loads of local tips and really easy check in. Thoroughly recommended.

  • This place is absolutely lovely. My partner and I stayed here over New Years to get away from the London crowds and will definitely be back in summer! We used the wood burner a lot as it was a great way to keep warm and makes the hut super cosy. Sue was very helpful and a great host. We loved the Christmas treats left out for us on arrival! Sue was there if and when we needed help and left us to relax the rest of the time. There are lots of lovely pubs in the area serving great food and drink. My partner and I are 32 and 27 with very hectic jobs and lifestyles based in London. I’d highly recommend other city dwellers with lots going on to come and decompress here. Read, cook, relax, go to the local town, take in the countryside. Can’t wait to come back!!

A beautiful and unique self contained private space, set in a walled garden, only a couple of minutes walk from Littlehampton's award winning blue flag East Beach.
Please read all the information provided, it will answer lots of your questions and give you a real flavour of this lovely little space! Please come back to me with any queries. This unique rental is a WW2 converted air raid shelter, situated in the garden of your hosts. As a completely self-contained property, the air raid shelter has its own private entrance and includes the sole use of a sheltered, walled garden where you can enjoy the seaside sunshine and the sound of seagulls, but without the sea breeze. There is an outside dining table with rattan armchairs where you can enjoy meals or just soak up some sun. A barbecue can be provided on request. The air raid shelter has been lovingly converted into a beautiful bijou space, perfect for couples on a romantic mini-break, or as a retreat for writers or artists seeking solitude from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Free Wi-Fi is available but once you close the door on your own little hideaway, you may find you’re happy to switch off your phones and laptops, at least for a while! The accommodation is comprised of two rooms: a compact double bedroom with a small kitchen area, and a bathroom with a large roll-top bath, bubble bath included! (the priority here is indulgent relaxation rather than slaving over a hot stove). The double bed has cotton bed linen, luxury feather duvet and pillows, (this can be changed for guests with allergies) with storage underneath for suitcases. There is a small desk/table with dining stools in the same room and a small library of books and dvds with a television which has an integrated dvd player. The compact but well-designed kitchen area includes a small fridge, kettle, toaster with warming rack, and a cafetiere. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, sugar and milk are provided, along with a breakfast hamper offering a choice of croissants/bagels, white/brown bread, marmalade/cream cheese and apple/orange juice. Please let me know if you have any food allergies or dietary requirements and I will do my best to cater for your needs. A microwave can be provided on request. The separate bathroom is tastefully decorated, and towels are provided, all the better to enjoy the wonderful roll-top bath, which can accommodate two – although if you want to swim, you’ll have to head to the beach! Despite the secluded feel of this property, it is centrally located, with the award-winning Littlehampton beach only a 5-minute stroll away. Also within easy 10-minute walking distance are plenty of cafes and restaurants (including the stunning East Beach Café), the town centre, and the train station. Your hosts are Annie and Rad Radburn, who will be more than happy to advise you on what Littlehampton has to offer, but equally will leave you alone to enjoy the space in peace if that’s what you need. Rad is a local artist whose work is displayed in the air raid shelter and is for sale, should you wish to take home a memento of your stay. Rad also undertakes private commissions, including portraits. If you are planning a romantic stay, Rad and Annie can by prior arrangement provide flowers/champagne/chocolates etc or for late arrivals a flask of home made soup with bread and cheese. Please feel free to get in touch and discuss your requirements.
  • We loved staying at “Annies Place” although small, it has everything you would need for a couple having a weekend away. This beautiful little place, is close to all public amenities should you need/want to explore the town. The seafront is also very close by, and perfect for walks. We brought our little dog Murphy with us, and he had a lovely time staying with us and exploring the garden, which is fully gated the whole way round so no worries about escaping! Annie was an exceptional host. She got back with enquiries and messages straight away and made staying at her place very simply and easy. She welcomed us at the start of our stay, and then left us for the remainder of our time there in the knowledge that if we needed her, we only had to send her a message and she would help us with anything we needed. She also suggested a few dog-friendly pubs that we could eat in (as we didn’t feel it was fair to leave the dog) and we were delighted to be able to have a lovely Valentines meal at The Arun View Inn, which is very close by and I would definitely recommend. The place is kept sparklingly clean, and I would definitely recommend that people make use of the stunning bathroom facilities including the roll top bath with some bubbles in! All the little extra touches are very cute too, including all the pictures and crockery around the place, making it very homely! We made use of the TV and DVD player too, especially when the weather was too bad to go out in Storm Dennis, we could snuggly in bed and watch a film! It is lovely having your own side entrance to the Air Raid Shelter so that you don’t disturb anyone, and you can come and go as you please too. We will definitely stay again in the future!

    Emily2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cosy stay in a beautifully quirky and well thought out space. Great bathroom facilities with roll top bath and helpful toiletries. Perfect place to bring a dog; the garden is fully enclosed and spacious with a fantastic garden shed relax area which would be great in the summer months! Location is great for amenities and so close to the beaches! Our dog Merlin especially loved his visit to nearby West Beach! Annie is a fantastic host who was extremely helpful and welcoming, and recommended dog friendly pubs to us. Thank you again for such a wonderful stay! We will be back! X

    Katherine2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay, Anniw was a lovely host, really friendly and helpful. A nice small but private area and accomodation with a great locatipon near the seafront.

    Helen2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house was perfect for me, my 6”4 partner and our little dog. It was actually larger than we had imagined with plenty of clever spaces to store things. A little radiator was provided which kept us warm and cosy. Everything we needed was in walking distance. All in all we had a great experience and I wouldn’t hesitate in booking again.

    Bethany2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks to Annie for hosting us in Littlehampton. It was perfectly located for our Christmas visit to a family member. We were delighted with how quaint and cosy the space was, and how close it was to the beach. Even on a cold December day, it was lovely to walk along the coast! The breakfast was a lovely touch. We sadly had to cut short our break as my partner was unwell - I should mention that this was nothing to do with our stay! - and Annie was very accommodating to our change of plans. We hope to use the shelter on future visits to the south coast!

    Emma2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our mini break in Littlehampton a lot! Annie’s converted shelter was super cute and cozy! Very comfortable bed, lovely big bath and spacious garden with a very useful shed. Annie was very kind and caring host she left us delicious fruit and was very helpful with anything we needed. This tiny place gives lots of privacy and it is perfectly located right by the shore. Ideal for a romantic gate away and long walks on the beach.

    Katarzyna2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a little gem! Fantastic touches from the host on breakfast bits, milk, tea and coffee. Outside is a lovely little courtyard all enclosed which is brilliant for the pooch. Cosy atmosphere ideal place to relax.

    Sally2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little place with everything we needed and even more. We enjoyed getting sun in a private walled garden, having beer in a summer house and lying on a comfy bed. Beach and Harvester were just 3 mins away. Thank you Annie for prepping the house for us on your birthday! Dylan the dog says thank you too :)

    Littlehampton, West Sussex, United Kingdom

My place is close to Pulborough in the heart of the Sussex Downs. Arundel, Chichester, Goodwood and Petworth are all within easy driving distance. We are located above Pulborough Brooks in an area of outstanding natural beauty. 180 degree stunning views can be soaked up from the sitting room. Recently built, this oak framed garden room offers some of the best views in Sussex. Whether rambling or cycling the South Downs, we are at the exact half way point close to Pulborough train station.
A recently built oak framed garden room with doors opening onto steps descending to garden level. Oak beams, sloping skeilings, and flooring give the space an open, modern feel whilst respecting the age of the main house next door dating from 1700s. The entire space is open plan with the upper floor area comprising the bedroom area with a king size bed. There is a separate slate tiled bathroom with shower, sink and wc. A small kitchenette area with a sink and microwave completes the space on the upper level and gives you the flexibility to make simple meals or by all means try some of our excellent pubs in the area. The sitting room area is down one step from the bedroom and kitchen; it faces the garden and the amazing views of the South Downs over the rear garden. The sitting room has a TV & DVD player (with a choice of DVDs), a B&W speaker, two sofas one of which converts to a sofa bed suitable for one adult or two children. A separate single bed is available if four adults wish to share but it will be a bit snug if so. The kitchenette has a microwave, fridge/freezer, sandwich toaster, sink, toaster & kettle. Please note there is no oven and no Wifi. Guests will need to rely on their phones for data services. There is good phone coverage in this area.
A stunning area of West Sussex, our house is in the South Downs National Park. We can be reached easily via main road and are within 20 minutes drive of the South Coast beaches around Chichester and Clymping. Goodwood is 25 minutes by car so we are ideally located for Festival of Speed, Goodwood Revival or Glorious Goodwood. Petwork House is 10 minutes by car. We are close to Bury Hill one of the main intersection points half way on the South Downs for any guests cycling or rambling the 110 mile route. Bignor Roman Villa is 10 minutes by car. The area has fantastic walks down by the Arun river or along the South Downs Way with views across the Weald towards London and the North Downs. In season, we are close to a number of well established shooting party organisers.
  • Just book!!! My husband and I just got back on Sunday and have the holiday blues... We had a wonderful stay at the view. Waking up in the mornings and drinking coffee looking over the downs was such bliss! Claire is an amazing host she greets you and shows you round and answers all your questions and shes on hand throughout your stay. We were supplied with plenty of tea and coffee, juice, hit cross buns, bread, jams, marmalade, eggs, milk, cereal which was lovely that you could have a leisurely morning and not feel like you had to rush out for breakfast. The place itself is very well designed and stylishly decorated. Theres a TV, DVDs, games, books, magazines, you honestly dont need to leave and you'll wish you hadn't apart from to explore the quaint town of Arundel. You must visit the black horse pub for dinner the food, service and atmosphere are exceptional! There are ample tea rooms and a lovely farm shop also. The larger supermarkets are also local, theres plenty around but you do need a car.

  • This was our second stay at The View and we just absolutely love it here. It’s so peaceful and relaxing and Claire and Phil make you feel really welcome. All the little touches in the Airbnb make it so special and the fridge is well stocked making it even easier to relax there. We will definitely be back hopefully soon.

  • Fantastic weekend get away. Claire was so helpful upon arrival with tips on where to explore in the local area. The place was perfect - clean, stylish with lots of lovely touches such as bathrobes and candles etc. Would highly recommend and would love to return!

  • Very peaceful location with some fun walks and great pubs nearby. Perfect for a weekend getaway!

    Cal2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Stop scrolling....book now. This is an incredible place - whether you're looking for a base to explore the South Downs or just want to hunker down somewhere warm and homely with incredible views. The welcome was the best I've ever experienced and describing it as a 'home from home' undersells it....the kitchen and bathroom were more well stocked than my own! The sheets were crisp and everything was spotlessly clean. As a serial AirBnBer, I have pretty high standards and this surpassed all of my expectations. Thank you!

    Rebecca2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Lovely views, cosy and a bit different! Recommend

    Kym2020-01-13T00:00:00Z

  • Cannot fault Claire as a host. The pictures in the profile speak for themselves. Stunning view in a clean and comfortable space. Generous amounts of food in the fridge helped us out too. Recommendations for walks/pubs were great. Thanks for a great stay!

"The Hideaway" is situated in Houghton, very close to the point at which the South Downs Way crosses the River Arun. The oak framed garden room offers studio style open plan living space with double bed, well equipped kitchenette & separate bathroom. The doors open onto a garden area to enjoy a spot of al fresco dining or simply just to soak up the sun & offer beautiful panoramic views of the South Downs. Houghton is also a mid-way point on the South Downs Way making it the perfect stop over
Located 300 metres from the South Downs Way, the 17sqm studio sleeps 2 very comfortably on a double bed on the ground floor. There is also a mezzanine bunk area accessed via a ladder (restricted headroom) with 2 single floor mattresses so the space would suit couples, 2 nimble friends or even a family with one or 2 small children (albeit at a squeeze!). Please let us know your sleeping configuration preferences at the time of booking. The kitchenette provides a sink, fridge/freezer box, kettle, toaster, microwave and induction hob. A light breakfast of cereals, bread, butter, jams, tea, coffee and milk is provided but if you have any specific requirements upon arrival we will be more than happy to accommodate your request. The bathroom comprises a WC, sink and shower which is stocked with shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, towels, hair dryer and mirror allowing for light travelling (essential for you hikers and cyclists out there!). The studio also offers free Wi-Fi access, freesat TV/DVD player and Alexa-enabled Bluetooth speaker with free access to Spotify digital music service. The area benefits from very good mobile reception. Also within walking distance is Amberley Railway Station, two lovely pubs (The Bridge Inn and the George & Dragon) both serving lunch and dinner and a riverside café that caters for breakfast, teas, lunch, pizzas and more recently self-hire river cruises. The George & Dragon, Houghton offers breathtaking views of the South Downs and is reputedly one of the oldest 3 pubs in Sussex. It has a wealth of charm & character and said to have been a stop-off point for King Charles II following his defeat at the Battle of Worcester. The nearby, picturesque village of Amberley with its pretty thatched cottages has a tea rooms, village stores (useful for lunch supplies) and a further two pubs! During the colder months the South Downs can get rather muddy in places so if you intend to explore the area we would highly recommend bringing suitable footwear. A unique attraction of the area is its International Dark Sky Reserve status making our location the ideal place for a spot of stargazing (on a clear night, of course!). Dark Skies are areas where you can look at the night sky without the light pollution created by street lights etc. so if you are checking in at night the drive and garden lights are on a sensor but the surrounding area will be dark, very dark! For those walking or cycling the South Downs Way we can provide a baggage transfer service up to 20 miles in an Easterly or Westerly direction for a set fee of £20. Please enquire at the time of booking. If you fancy exploring the South Downs on two wheels, never has it been so easy thanks to the introduction of e-bikes! Chalkpit Trails Mobile Cycle Hire offer a free drop off and collection service from The Hideaway supplying e-bikes and regular mountain bikes. Arundel, Chichester and Petworth are all within easy driving distance. Perfectly located for Goodwood events such as the Festival of Speed, Revival and Glorious Goodwood.
A stunning area of West Sussex. Houghton is a hamlet in the South Downs National Park making it perfect for hikers and cyclists keen to complete the breath-taking 100 mile stretch of national trail running from Winchester to Eastbourne. It is on the River Arun, where it has a bridge to a rural part of Amberley, 3 miles (5 km) north of Arundel. The Monarch’s Way long-distance footpath (which follows Charles's supposed route from Worcester to Shoreham-by-Sea) descends from the Downs to the west into the village, before heading south along the river towards Arundel. In May 2016 the South Downs National Park became the world’s newest International Dark Sky Reserve, only the 2nd in England and 12th in the world! Across the South Downs International Dark Sky Reserve, some of the best locations for stargazing are already designated as Dark Skies Discovery Sites, offering sweeping views of the starry skies. One of the darkest locations in the South Downs International Dark Sky Reserve is at Bignor Hill (3.5 miles from The Hideaway) between Arundel and Petworth. This remote hilltop location offers extensive views of the night sky in all directions and delivers exquisite views of the Milky Way on a moonless night in late summer and mid-winter.
  • A real cosy and stylish home from home in a very beautiful part of West Sussex. Anna is a brilliant host and very welcoming. Everything was spotlessly clean and there was great attention to detail but for me the best thing of all was the stunning panoramic view of the south downs. Throughly recommend this place.

  • It was a very nice place to stay, peaceful and yet close to Arundel and the Sea. Possibly not really suitable for elderly or people with mobility issues but for most will be fine. We would have sat out in the courtyard but tend to go off out when we are away not stay in accommodation other than evenings. Tv was fine and chairs comfy with an nice ambience in the room. Fridge only no freezer part.

Little Saltspring is located in a quiet residential cul de sac. The city of Brighton is a "must see" visit for many guests. It is within easy reach by train, bus or car. Getting around Brighton is simple as it is a compact city and easy to explore on foot or public transport. Make time to visit the city villages too including Hove; famous for its colourful beach huts & Regency architecture, and Rottingdean, a picturesque, traditional English village. Discover Brighton attractions such as the Brighton Pier, the Royal Pavilion and the innovative British Airways i360. The city is also home to a cornucopia of cultural delights as well as big name shops and hundreds of independent boutiques. There are many award-winning restaurants in Brighton & Hove catering for all tastes from classic fish 'n' chips to creative vegetarian restaurants and even a zero waste restaurant. https://www.visitbrighton.com/things-to-do Another famous town to visit is Arundel, about 15 minutes away by car. This historic West Sussex market town is most well-known for its 11th Century Arundel Castle and stunning Victorian gothic cathedral, but great days out in Arundel don’t have to stop at a visit to these historic attractions. There's a great choice of guided walks with different options hosted by qualified Blue Badge Guides, Arundel Museum or Arundel Walking Tours - this is a great way to really understand the history of the whole town. Foodies are spoilt for choice in Arundel, with cafes, bars, restaurants and some great traditional English pubs too - just a small remnant of the 30 or so that used to serve the population in this once busy riverside port. Art and antique lovers will be happy at one of Arundel’s superb galleries and the treasure troves of antiques and collectables, If shopping is your 'bag' then the wide range of contemporary and traditional independent shops is impressive for such a small town and is sure to include something perfect just for you. For water and nature lovers, the rowing boats at Swanbourne Lake, boat trips on the River Arun and the Boat Safaris at Arundel Wetland Centre, are a great way to relax, admire the wildlife and while away a few hours in glorious surroundings. There are other ways to get active and explore the local countryside. Discover how to walk, cycle and ride in the area, especially as Arundel is one of the gateways to the South Downs National Park. And, for those who enjoy a flutter on the races, Fontwell Park Racecourse is nearby. Arundel's what's on calendar is also full of fantastic arts, theatre, music and cultural events including the world famous Arundel Festival and Arundel by Candlelight, and there are even more town events to be found at the town's own Events Diary. See http://www.arundel.org.uk/attractions A visit to nearby Littlehampton on the River Arun is also somewhere guests will find interesting. It is 10 minutes away by car or you can take the 700 bus. Home to superb sandy award-winning beaches, a bustling marina and harbour and stunning contemporary architecture, Littlehampton, Sussex on England's sunny south coast is both the perfect place to enjoy a fun family holiday and take time out to relax. The attractions of this seaside town include the famously unusual East Beach Café (named one of The Times' 20 best places to eat by the beach in 2013), Harbour Park and the unique seafront Long Bench, and it's engraved messages. Why not book a message for yourself or a loved one? The Littlehampton Ferry will transport you between East and West Beaches during the summer months to the West Beach Local Nature Reserve – a Site of Special Scientific Interest. You can enjoy sailing, diving and fishing on the River Arun or simply take in the views from a waterside restaurant or café. Many of Littlehampton’s annual events take place on the seafront or around the harbour including the summer Carnival and spectacular Bonfire and Fireworks event in October. In fact, there are so many things to do, you’ll definitely want to stay for longer! The Cow Hide is your own very private annexe, bifolding doors and cosy underfloor heating, with a terrace facing Arundel Castle and views to die for. The George pub is just a 5 minute walk away...perfect to sit outside in summer and a log fire in winter. You can unwind and totally relax here, come and go as you please and with so much to see in the area, what better place to come back to at the end of the day and enjoy a glass or two of something chilled.
The views are just wonderful and it’s so private except for the odd cow passing by!

The cottage is located in the seaside town of Rustington (West Sussex). The cottage is a separate dwelling from the main house, with private entrance, patio and parking space. Downstairs the cottage consists of an open plan living space with fully integrated kitchen, dining area, lounge area with sofa bed. Upstairs is the bedroom and separate bathroom with an overhead shower.
The kitchen has an oven, microwave, fridge and washing machine. The stairs have a turn and are a little narrow. The bedroom is in the eaves of the room, so there is a slopping ceiling giving great character (but mind your head!) We have listed the property as suitable for 2 guests, but there is a sofa bed downstairs and we also have ‘z bed’ for children, if needed. A £20 a night charge for each additional person will be added for each booking of more than 2 guests.
Rustington is a small, thriving seaside town with many eating places - coffee shops, Indian, Thai, Italian and a Tapas bar. The cottage is situated in the centre of the town, and local shops are just a two minute walk. The cottage is a ten minute walk to a lovely beach, where there is the opportunity for long beach walks. There are two local pubs in Rustington, and a gastro pub in the village of Angmering (2 miles). Littlehampton (2 miles)is a thriving fishing town with a busy river - fishing trips, recreational trips, and the famous (award winning) East Beach Cafe. Rustington is also an excellent base for visiting the historic town of Arundel with its cathedral and castle. Chichester is just a 30 minute drive and has a lovely shopping area and Cathedral. Brighton is a 40 minute drive (or 30 minute train) to enjoy the famous Lanes for shopping and eating. The South Downs National Park is just north of Rustington with access at various points within a 7 mile radius. There are numerous opportunities for walking, running and mountain biking. There are two excellent golf courses within 3 miles, one parkland and one Links. There is a new sports complex on the sea front, The Wave, with a new pool, children’s pool, fitness suite and sports hall.
  • A cosy little cottage in a convenient position near many shops and restaurants. A ten minute walk to the sea. The cottage is smart and well equipped.

The cottage is on the South Downs way and a 2 minute walk from Amberley Train station (and don't forget Amberley Museum aka Roger Moore 007 film location). It has the convenience of an excellent pub over the road, where you can get a swift drink and good quality food (in high season you will need to book in advance) or a delightful riverside tea room round the corner. The cottage backs onto the main road through Amberley, and whilst it is double glazed, you can hear the traffic. In the kitchen there is a belfast sink, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, microwave, combination oven and ceramic hob. Please let me know if you want me to leave the travel cot at the time of booking. In the main bedroom there is a king size bed with wardrobes, shelves and an ensuite with toilet, shower and basin. In the other bedroom please note, there is limited head height. There are 2 single beds in there. But let me know if you only want 1 single bed in there and I will remove 1 of them so that there is more space. In this bedroom there is a bath and basin. Please note, the bath is super tiny. Really tiny. Please also note that the house owner (not me) is currently clearing out the house and there is currently a container on the parking lot. However there are still 4 other parking spaces available. The cottage also offers free Wi-Fi access and a TV and dvd player. The local towns and villages of Arundel, Chichester and Petworth are all within easy driving distance. Often, travellers stay with us to attend Goodwood events such as the Festival of Speed, Revival and Glorious Goodwood (Horse Racing).
This cottage has great transport links with Amberley train station a couple of minutes walk away. There is ample parking on the premises.
  • Highly recommended lovely place home from home

  • Fabulously clean cottage in a lovely country setting. Easiest check-in I've ever had. Cottage was well equipped including a washing machine which was essential after the English weather was on expected form for February. Will return next time I'm on the south Downs

  • We enjoyed a fantastic stay at Jane's cottage, which was actually booked last minute due to a cancellation of another accommodation. The communication was excellent and Jane couldn't have been more helpful in making our booking. The cottage is lovely, situated opposite a very nice pub which is great for dinner and drinks. And the best bit - the location! Right on the South Downs Way with easy access to hours of exploring. Thanks for a great stay :)

  • Lovely house with lots of character in a really convenient location. Great spot for dog walkers. Nice pub and a tea room within seconds of the house where dogs are allowed.

  • Delightful little cottage in a perfect location for beautiful walks in the South Downs. Everything was clean, comfortable and a pleasure to use. The pub across the road (the Bridge Inn) is great for drinks - we didn’t eat there so not sure about the food. We had the most delicious dinner at the Black Horse inn, which is about 20 mins walk away and well worth the trip! Amberley village is chocolate box pretty and we’d love to come back.

  • Beautiful little cottage in a lovely location. Everything as described with some extra little touches. Highly recommended.

  • Lovely and cosy place, Jane had left of Christmas cookies as a welcome gift and also decorated the place with a Christmas tree. Comfortable cottage with all you need in the kitchen and the bathroom. It is also right across the road from a pub and a tea room that both serve amazing food! Would stay again

    Marja2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Curt and Myles’s place is spotlessly clean and very stylish. We stayed there after a wedding in the local area and they went out of their way to help us with local info, and even gave a lift to a local train station. Very grateful for their hospitality and would recommend!

    Kat2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Curt and Myles were definitely super hosts! The room, bathroom and flat is stylishly furnished and spotless. They made me feel totally at ease, comfortable and at home. I felt comfortable staying with them as a single female. I found parking easily outside the flat every night and made the most of the area by going for runs along the seafront - it’s just down the road. Try the Thai recommended locally - delicious.

    Dewet And Nicole2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing accommodation. Sparkling clean, beautiful apartment. Both curt and Myles made us both feel welcome in their lovely home. Amazing value for money and set in a wonderful location. Well done guys, we will be back.

    Andrew2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Curt and Myles are very gracious hosts. We had a great guidance and welcome to their place. The flat is very stylish in black and white and spotlessly clean. We had use of the kitchen and we could have shared the living room space with them, had we wanted to. The bedroom is spacious enough and has a very nice bed and very nice comfortable, just right, pillows - we do not find this very often. The bathroom is also spacious and has a great walk-in shower with waterfall and hand-held showers. It is practically around the corner from a High Street with plenty shops and some good restaurants - the Lemongrass is a delicious Thai (strongly recommend booking), as is the Honeypot Cafe for breakfast. The flat is about 10-15 mins walk from the beach. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you, Curt, and thank you, Myles.

  • Our second stay here and we had a great time. Such a lovely place with fantastic views and a fantastic pub nearby for Sunday lunch after a walk in the Autumn sunshine.

    Claire2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Laura was a great host and kept in touch throughout. Check-in was really easy. The place is stunning and we enjoyed watching the wildlife from the deck - deer, geese, swans, red kites were the highlights - and stargazing on clear nights (there’s next to no light pollution). We were 5 - 4 adults and a child - and we had plenty of space and privacy to enjoy our few days together. The house has all sorts of little touches to make your stay special and feel like a home from home - can’t recommend enough and we’d love to return in the summer!

    Lorraine2019-10-28T00:00:00Z

A comfortable retreat in typical Sussex countryside. Poachers Den is situated on a private road in the grounds of my private home. The property is surrounded by fields, woodland and public footpaths, perfect for a sunny hike, bike ride or quiet retreat and has direct access to the historic Angmering Park Estate. It's near to Angmering Village (2 miles), Arundel (4 miles), Goodwood (14 miles), Chichester (20 miles) and Worthing (5 miles).
Just off the A27, a former stable in the grounds of my private home, with recently refurbished lounge/diner and kitchen with a separate bedroom with twin/double beds. There's a toilet/ shower room and a private garden with a pond and summerhouse. The cabin has Freeview TV, and Wifi; books, great views, and amazing sunsets. It is completely fenced off from the main property. FRONT: The Cabin itself is a stand-alone building with a garden table, chairs and gazebo on the porch looking out towards the countryside. GARDEN: Follow the contained path to the back of the building and you will find your own, self-contained garden, thriving with wildlife and greenery around a delightful little pond. The back of the garden is a nice suntrap where a small blue summerhouse containing deck chairs to lounge in is located. LOUNGE: The Living room contains a comfortable sofa, coffee table, TV, heating and air conditioning. This room sees a lot of light in the mornings, a lovely place to put up your feet and relax. KITCHEN: The kitchen contains an oven, hob, microwave, kettle, fridge, and sink. Cooking utensils, condiments, cutlery, kitchen towels, etc all provided. There is also a breakfast table bar amidst the kitchen lounge, looking out towards the front of the cabin, which is perfect for watching the sunset whilst eating your dinner. The breakfast bar is also conveniently placed next to the wifi hub and sockets to work from, for a more picturesque office. BEDROOM: The bedroom has a large kingsized bed that can split into two singular beds upon request. The best feature of the bedroom is the large french doors opposite that look out onto the private garden, a peaceful place to watch the wildlife from the comfort of your own bed. EXTRAS: Attached to the bedroom is a small walk-in wardrobe with a rail and hangers, there is another door in this room that leads to your very own private washing machine and dryer. As well as the cabin, there's a field and small area of woodland belonging to the property that guests are welcome to roam around at their leisure. THINGS TO DO: As noted before, Poachers Den is located near to many towns in the surrounding area of West Sussex. There are many country pubs a short drive or a 30-minute walk, a favourite is the World's End Pub. Angmering village has a couple of pubs a lovely Indian Takeaway named Shafiques and a fish and chip shop. Arundel is beautiful and picturesque with its own castle and rivers surrounding the area. Swanbourne Lake is a lovely place to walk, watch the varieties of waterbirds swimming on the lake, buy ice cream and even a chance to row a boat around the lake with Arundel castle in the background. Down the same road is a nice pub called the Black Rabbit. Worthing town centre is also not far, with lots of bars and restaurants to explore. Masterchef winner, Kenny Tutt has opened up his new restaurant: Pitch. Opposite is Finch which is a great place for brunch. The Crabshack on the seafront is an award-winning cafeteria, with all seafood caught fresh that morning. If you want a nice seafront cafe on the beach then try Sea Lane Cafe - Goring or the Blue Bird Cafe - Ferring. Mexican food try Liming. Cocktail bars: Manuka Bar, The Rockinghorse, The Beach Hut and a new roof top terrace bar called The Sea House overlooking Pier of the Year 2019, Worthing Pier. As well as this, Poachers Den is a short drive to Goodwood and popular for anyone attending events there.
On a private road -quiet neighborhood, mostly dog walkers and horse riders go past, rarely any cars only for access to the three properties in the lane.
  • A comfortable, clean, spacious cabin in a beautiful setting. The place was larger than we expected. We would love to stay here again when we are next in the area. Would highly recommend

    Lucy2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Sue’s place was more than we could have expected! The photos don’t do the place justice! The space is spacious (much more spacious than the pictures can show), modern, clean and the surrounding areas, gardens and views are stunning! The bed is HUGE, and very comfortable, the TV is big and has many channels. The kitchen is modern and new, the shower is wonderful and there is also a bonus of an aircon/heating system, and your own washer and dryer! The place is private, and Sue didn’t disturb us, but she was quick to respond when we did message her. Check in was very easy, as was check out. The only thing I could possibly say wasn’t 100% was the WiFi, it was very temperamental but that didn’t bother us as we weren’t there to sit in and use the internet. You are right in the quiet countryside, but a short walk away from various local pubs / shops. Also close to the local beaches only a short drive away. We were so, so pleased with Sue’s place, it exceeded all our expectations and we were very sad to be leaving. We will definitely be back again. Thank you so much!

    Hayley2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic property in a perfect location. Very quiet and away from the hustle and bustle. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Sue is a lovely host with excellent communication throughout. Would definitely stay again and recommend to family and friends.

    Helen2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our short stay at Poachers Den. The cabin was spotlessly clean and larger than we had imagined it would be. A comfortable good-sized bed and a powerful shower too! We had a lovely circular walk through the woodland at the end of the lane with a stop at The Fox pub then back to the cabin.

    Bren2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place to stay to explore the South Downs. The Poachers Den was clean, comfortable and well kitted out. Sue was a great host. Looking forward to returning next year.

    Steve2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great location in a quiet no through road in the countryside, lots of walks. Still very close to main A road for access to the coastal towns. The cabin is spacious and comfortable. Lovely to wake up in the morning and see the mallards on the pond!

    Karen2019-08-25T00:00:00Z

She offered to join them in a board game night and I spent a really good evening with her and her 2 sons. Thank you again for your hospitality Claudia !

They provided us with a lovely breakfast with hot croissants in the morning in the lovely breakfast room. We felt very welcome. The house is surrounded by lovely countryside with a selection of restaurants in nearby towns.

Cosy room, comfortable bed, nice place, nice people, good breakfast, looks even better than in the photos and great price. Altogether quality hosting and stay.

  • If you’re looking for a comfy, spacious 1 bed flat, then look no further. We stayed in the garden facing flat so perfect for our little family of three. The box of toys (inc. bath toys) were a great touch for our 18 month old and the place was spotless. It’s a shame it was winter otherwise we would have opened the doors and made good use of the garden! Joanne was prompt at responding and I’d highly recommend if you’re looking for a self-catering, good value option.

New holiday let opened in 2019 and further amenities added for 2020. Petit Palm is very popular and has been receiving great reviews. It is situated in Rustington Village which has a good range of shops, some great places for breakfast, and a few nice restaurants and bars. The property is a short walk to beautiful Rustington beach (10-12 mins walk). Arundel and Goodwood are easily accessible as are Brighton and Portsmouth. Great location for the South Downs as well. We are dog friendly too.
The small bungalow holiday let (sleeps up to 6) consists of 2 double bedrooms, ensuite to main bedroom, separate bathroom with bath and overhead rainfall shower and a bright and spacious living space with sofa bed (sleeps 2 comfortably) and dining facilities (table extends for 6 guests). Range cooker, washing machine, dishwasher and refrigerator are available along with microwave, toaster, iron and kettle. There is also a small enclosed and private garden with outdoor seating and barbecue; perfect for breakfast in the garden in the sunshine or a drink in the evening after a day on the beach or visiting local attractions. The bungalow has WiFi, television and a DVD player. Bed linen and towels are provided. Off road parking is available at the property.
The bungalow is easy walking distance to the beach (0.6mile), shops are 300m walk. Rustington village is beautiful, it has a wide selection of local shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. East Preston, Ferring and other small local villages are great for fabulous eateries and bars.

  • Check in was easy using the key safe, the bungalow was immaculate with great attention to detail. Amanda came to see us as I’d asked a question but otherwise left us to it. Perfect location for both the village and the beach, would definitely stay again.

  • Really enjoyed our stay in Petit Palm, it was spotlessly clean upon arrival and feels very modern and spacious. Everything works well, heating, showers and the large range cooker - Perfect for a family of 4 with small children. We used it as a base to visit Butlin’s during February half term. The beach is a 10 minute walk away which is sandy when the tide is out. The local shops including Waitrose are a 3 minute walk away which makes everything so easy. Definitely recommend staying here if in the area and we plan to return.

    Matthew2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage with all modern and high spec amenities. There is a beach at the end of the road, or within a short drive to the Littlehampton one, where one's being able to park at (and go to) East Beach Cafe. Waitrose and Domino's nearby make it easy to cook / have take aways in, and Establo Lounge within 2 min walk from the cottage is a perfect cafe for brunches. Amanda is a caring and accommodating host, and communication was perfect all along.

    Maria2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend Petite Palm. The accommodation is tastefully decorated in neutral tones with wooden floors. Fabulous en-suite and bathroom. The kitchen has all you need to cook and prepare food with. I particularly liked cooking on the Aga type double oven. So pleased our dog could stay too. He had some lovely walks along the shingle beach and by the sandy shoreline when the tide went out. Rustington town is only a 10-15 min walk where you can purchase your food or pop in one of the cafes. Amanda is a friendly and helpful host. We would stay again.

    Caroline2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant little cottage which is bigger inside than out! Very well equipped and modern stylish bathrooms and very clean. Great little garden which is secure so pup couldn’t escape. Amanda is friendly and helpful and look forward to visiting again soon.

Rustington village has everything for eating out and in with three banks and 10 mins from seafront leading to Littlehampton ex fishing village. Historic Arundel close by worth a visit for antiques browsing and romantic castle as well as wetlands centre.
