Room in a farm stay

A lush 28 acre organic farm, 70km from Gurgaon, located at the foothills of the Aravalli...SATYA-JYOTI FARM is a haven for lovers of nature and the environment. There are 4 separate cottages at the farm, total of 10 beds. We provide farm grown organic vegetarian meals which are INCLUDED in the tariff. Please read full farm details and then send the booking request with confirmation that you understand that SATYA JYOTI IS A REAL FARM AND NOT A HOTEL-LIKE RESORT.

The space
THE ORANGE ROOM is on the first floor, centrally located on the farm, not far from the kitchen. It has a view of the tree tops and fields. There are two single beds in this room. Can fit in a third bed if required. Bright and airy room...attached bathroom. No AC...only fan and desert cooler.

Guest access
Guest have access to all parts of the farm and can join in activities, depending on season. Planting, harvesting, compost making, learning bio dynamic practices, milking or just watching us at our tasks.
The Bio-pool is a large water storage body for irrigation. We have designed it in a way that it can be used for swimming. Guests can swim AT THEIR OWN RISK only after signing their names in the register. There is NO LIFE GUARD on duty and the depth (at the deepest end) is 10 feet.

During your stay
The farm has three live-in families. Ramesh is in charge and he will be your guide for farming activities. Poonam is the cook...she will provide all meals at an extra cost of Rs.800/- per person per day. We often visit the farm on weekends but stay connected all the time.

Other things to note
We have 4 cottages. INDU has 2 double and 2 single beds, INDIGO has 1 double bed and 1 single bed on ground floor and 1 double bed in the upper floor, ORANGE room has a double bed and YELLOW room also has a double bed.
All rooms have attached bathrooms.
-Rooms are clean but rustic. Rooms have ceiling fans and only 1 room (the INDU ROOM)has an AC. In case that is already booked then you will be given one of the other cottages
-Being an agricultural area, electricity supply is first given for running farm motors, hence domestic supply is erratic. We do have inverters in every room and also a generator so there will always be a light and fan working in every hut in case of a power cut.
-Please do take adequate supply of mosquito repellents.
-If you wish to swim in the bio pool then take your swim-wear.
-Food on the farm is essentially vegetarian.
-Breakfast is generally Fruits, Poha or Aloo Parathas, Lunch and Dinner is Tandoori Roti, Daal, Vegetable, Salad, Rice. We provide farm grown organic vegetarian meals which are INCLUDED in the tariff.
-If you wish to have something Non-vegetarian, please take your own supplies along. You can use the kitchen to heat up the food.
-Please take snacks and cold drinks etc as the nearest shop is a couple of kilometers away.
-Our water supply is the underground water which we filter for drinking. You may want carry some mineral water bottles...just in case.
-We do not have television or internet on the farm. If you have 3g then you may receive signal at some points. I generally take my laptop with movies to watch when I am there for a stretch. Consumption of alcohol is not a problem as long as guests remain responsible. There is scrabble, bingo etc to play with family. Some books as well...but you may want to take your own

Neighbourhood highlights

If you go to the SATYA JYOTI TRUST webpage then you will get a good idea of the neighborhood. There is an abandoned fort 2kms from the farm, on a hill top. Its a great trek and an adventure to explore during the day.
