Situated in the quiet courtyard of an 18th Century townhouse in Ballyshannon, 'Navone Mews' is an ideal base for your holiday in the north-west of Ireland. Centrally placed, Ballyshannon is the gateway to a fabulous holiday exploring the many treasures of the surrounding counties. 'Navone' offers traditional Irish cottage comfort and cosiness, complete with a large turf-burning stove. The building is comprised of two separate apartments which can easily be combined to accommodate larger groups.

The space
Navone is in convenient walking distance to the center of town. Sheltered from the road by a large, classic wooden gate it is a secluded, quiet place. The building originally was erected as a coach house in the 1890s and was converted into two apartments 100 years later. The natural stone-floors in the corridors are in use for 130 years, the beautiful wooden floors in the living-rooms are much newer: The Mews offer a rustic, cozy mix of old and new — real cottage feeling. App. One offers two bedrooms, one with a double-bed and one with two single beds. App. Two, which can be used when needed, offer an additional bedroom with a double bed. There is central heating in all rooms.

Ballyshannon is situated at the very southern border of County Donegal, right in the middle between Bundoran and Rossnowlagh with their extensive beaches (both ca. 10 minutes drive). The coastline here has earned some fame as Ireland's “surfing coast” in the last couple of years: you will find surfers riding the waves all through the year, but most of all when the sea is roughest.

Several good fishing-areas are nearby: loughs and rivers as well as coastal fishing yield good catches. Hikers find beautiful routes at the coast as well as in the hills and mountains: especially Ben Bulben (County Sligo, ca. 30 minutes drive) is a sight not to be missed.
