Take a break and unwind at Mai’s Cottage Suite in Martinstown, Limerick. A traditional 19th Century stone cottage that comfortably sleeps 4. Tastefully refurbished with 2 bedrooms , 1 bathroom, fully equipped modern kitchen with a separate, cozy sitting room with the ambience of a stove. Idyllic and scenic location ideal for exploring the natural beauty and outdoor activities of the Ballyhoura Region. - hill walking, mountain biking, horse riding & historical attractions nearby.

The space
Mai’s cottage is named after a lady called Mai who lived here until the 1980’s. She is still remembered by locals in the area with warmth as to her kindness of spirit. As the latest custodian of this property I’ve honoured Mai and those who lived here before her by calling the guest suite after her.

Mai’s cottage is a comfortable, self contained stone built, two storey 19th Century cottage with separate entrance that forms part of a modern residential building. There is a private entrance to the cottage with parking and garden area looking over the countryside.

The ground floor of Mai’s cottage has a fully equipped kitchen/dining area and a comfortable sitting room with fireplace. Upstairs there is a spacious double bedroom with double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers and blackout blinds, the second bedroom has a bunk bed that sleeps 2 and also has blackout blinds. The main bathroom has an electric shower in the bath, wash hand basin and sink.

Please note the essence of the cottage is one of relaxation, it is situated 6km from the nearest town and it is a space to relax and get away from it all. There is no WiFi or tv in the cottage and due to the thick stone built walls mobile phone coverage isn’t always stable. This is an ideal spot to switch off, get out and enjoy the great outdoors and to take in the natural beauty of the surrounding area.
