Mid-century style and handmade crafts from both sides of the border abound in our one-of-a-kind 500SF studio. With a backyard oasis, neighboring art gallery, and sweet location 1.5 miles from downtown, our "1-room hotel" is the place to stay.

PLEASE NOTE: We live in an urban neighborhood and with that comes some urban noise. We have provided a white noise machine and ear plugs for our guests. However if you are a light sleeper or noise sensitive, our space might not be for you.

The space

We are a bit obsessed with hospitality! We will do almost anything to make your stay the best it can be.

Perks of staying at our studio:
- First beer is on us. Enjoy a cold one from Cerveceria Insurgente out of our "mini-bar".
- Bicycles! There is one hanging in the room, but we have more. Let us know how many you need and we'll provide helmets and locks.
- King-sized Casper mattress.
- Streaming Netflix and Hulu on the 55" Samsung TV.
- Fast wifi and a BUMPING sound system (easy audio cord plug-in).
- Backyard bocce set.
- Yoga mats.
- We can provide a kick-ass beach kit upon request (towels, umbrellas, chairs & cooler).
-Conveniently located across the street from Cafe Moto, one of San Diego's original coffee roasters.

Guest access

Guests have access to all of the large backyard in addition to the apartment.

**Please note that the backyard is a SHARED space. Our headquarters are located next door and from time to time, you may see some of our employees (there are only about 3-5 of us around at a time, we work average office hours 7am-7pm M-F) walking around. The shipping containers are not available to guests as they are our conference room and storage space. Guests are welcome to use the cabana lounge, lower patio, turf areas for bocci ball and/or hanging out but please be aware that there could be others utilizing the space during the week**

Interaction with guests

We love to chat, but only on your terms. If you want to know about the area and need a good recommendation for something to do-we would love to share! On the other hand the studio is spaced out so that if you're feeling more low key, that's great too. We can keep our distance. Just know we're here when you need us!

Other things to note

**One Bunk is not located in a shipping container**

Please note that although we don't have parking on property, there is typically free parking available along National Avenue.

For those of you with young children, we do have a pack and play available upon request!

Climbing on top of the containers IS NOT permitted.

We require a 2 night minimum stay!

Comfortable and thoughtfully decorated; a great place to hang out and relax for an afternoon working on my laptop. Had to take advantage of the reasonably priced mini bar, too. Urban location close to a few neighborhood gems and easy to travel into the rest of San Diego; I split my time between downtown and Coronado island so the location was perfect. Appreciated the renovated retail setting which was super convenient to access and made me feel like I was part of the active neighborhood. The back yard and the surrounding architecture on the property were inspirational– thanks for sharing!

The space at One Bunk is unique and very cool. I like the attention to details and the fun items they have in the room that give it that extra touch. It can get a bit too loud from the street traffic and pretty bright. If you’re a light sleeper this might be an issue. Although they do provide ear plugs which was neat. Great space and pretty close to attractions. Also, Cafe Motto being right across the street makes it even better! Great communication too.

This is a great space in a good location. The outdoor space is an oasis of sorts and the room itself is fantastic! Great value!

My friend and I stayed here while in town for a conference, and really enjoyed our time there! It's small but comfortable. I would say that you should expect to only sleep in the bed, as the couch didn't seem like it would be very comfortable for sleeping (but fine for sitting and watching TV). The bed is very comfy and large, though. The neighborhood isn't busy and might appear a little sketchy, but we felt totally safe. The coffee shop across the street is excellent, and there's a delicious taco place right nearby as well.

One Bunk offers a great location and a great place to stay. The apartment is well-decorated and a nice backyard. Location-wise, it's a 5-10 min Lyft ride from nearly every place we wanted to see in SD. Highly recommend this place!

It was a great experience at One Bunk. The main space as well as the shared back yard was comfortable and stylish. The location is central to all main San Diego attractions and parking was never an issue. One Bunk was also private and easy to access. Lorna was a great host and readily available to answer any questions or concerns. We would definitely suggest One Bunk for anyone looking for a unique experience.

Holy amazing! This place. What a gem! We walked in and feel in love. The space is designed so cool nothing fell cheap. The attention to detail blew my mind. We couldn’t be happier. The bikes were such a cool addition! We had a great riding around neighborhood. You can’t really walk anywhere after dark but uber is perfect. Super close to DT. East to get to train or metro. And only took us 25 min to get to TJ border... I’m for like $5 round trip. The back yard is such a treat! The sound system was awesome and we had everything we ever needed! I️ can’t wait to go again and also visit their Tijuana location. Amazing amazing amazing. I️ can’t say enough nice things.
