Other things to note

There are ongoing restoration projects in order to maintain and upgrade this historic home.

A note about cleanliness and old homes: Part of the charm of old homes and buildings is original and often now unavailable trims and fixtures. One of the reasons I bought this particular old house 10 years ago is that so much of the house is original to the 1929 building plan. Please try to understand that a house that is 86 years old with most of its original fixtures and trims will not be picture perfect. The patina that accumulates over time while charming to one, may be off putting to another. Please be assured, while I'm not perfect, the house is cleaned in between visits and maintained as efficiently as possible. Very old tile floors and original cast iron tubs may not be what you are used to seeing in a hotel room and aren't going to be Ajax white. Wood floors stained and washed over 86 years may not pass the white glove test. I only include this information to be fair to the house and to you. It's not perfect, It's old, I love it and most others do too. But if antiseptic surroundings make you most comfortable please reconsider this property for a new one or a hotel room. I do not want anyone to ever be disappointed and thank you for considering this property.

I have an apartment at the back of the house. It's part of an add on to the original structure and I aim to be very discreet when guests are staying. Outside of my Nissan Pathfinder being visible you may not know I'm in. I am often away especially when guests are staying.

The house is wonderful. You feel like you're walking in history. Lovely depression glass in the hutches, furnished for the time era and just fun to see. Everything you need from home. Close shopping. We hope to stay there again.

I love to travel and I also love unique architecture. My home was built in 1929 and is categorized as City Cottage style. I am only the third owner. After being built in 1929 it was sold very recently after that. I suspect, but have no proof, that the market crash may have forced the sale of their newly built home. The Campbell family purchased it not long after and lived in this home until I purchased it in 2006. The Campbells were a notable Lafayette Georgia family. Mr. Campbell was the town Justice of the Peace.
