This independent studio is single bedroom and bathroom. The facility has access to a large private terrace, including entry to a shared courtyard. The property is located in the center of Whitefield where transport and dining are easily available.

The space
This studio is part of a set of two studios and two cottages surrounded by nature and secluded from the noise and hustle of the city. A charming courtyard connects the studios and cottages.

The studio you will stay in has a bedroom, a bathroom, and a private terrace overlooking the courtyard and surrounding greenery.

The studios open onto a common courtyard with tables and lounge chairs and an old, beautiful tree in the center. The courtyard is decorated with hand-painted pots, mosaics, and native art that we’ve found around the country. Each studio also has access to the back garden, which is an oasis of trees and sun-dappled shade. There’s plenty of space in the back garden to sit, nap, eat, or just enjoy the nature.

We also hold various Art and Yoga classes during the week, and at this time are working on opening an afternoon coffee shop. There is also a small boutique and an art studio adjacent to the back garden, as well as a yoga pavilion made of bricks and cow dung! If you would like more information on any of this, please find us on Facebook at Gaia Bangalore www.facebook.com/gaiabangalore. We have tried to create a creative and peaceful community here, and we welcome guests who are respectful of this and/or would like to be a part of it.

There is a large grocery shop half a kilometer away from cottages and studios, for any grocery needs. Near there you can also find a pharmacy. The Forum Value Mall is about 5 km away from our place, and it has many shopping stores, a movie theater, and restaurants – with both Indian and continental food.

We are located about 15km from the city center, depending on what time of day you intend to travel this could take 30minutes to an hour to cover. This space is equally suited for someone looking for quick access to the IT hub of Bangalore – we are a 10-15 drive from the center of the IT hub. We are also 10-15 minutes away from the Sai Baba Ashram. Bangalore hosts various forms of transport, so getting around is fairly easy. The most convenient form of transport is by car or auto, there are many taxi services in Bangalore that are cheap and easy to book using services such as Uber or Ola. Autos can easily be waved down without prior booking. Public transport includes buses and the Metro, the nearest bus station is a 10-minute walk down the road. While the closest metro station is a short drive away. A lot of guests who have stayed with us in the past (before we were up on Airbnb!) enjoyed walking around the neighborhood. We also have a bicycle you can borrow if you’d like to cycle around the area!

If you are interested in looking at further spaces within our compound, we offer 3 other rooms that accommodate up to 3 people. They can be rented together to host a larger number of people.

Guest access
Guests have access to the back garden – there’s lots of space and sun or shade, as you prefer – and a pretty courtyard with tables, lounge chairs, and a big old tree in the center. You'll also have access to a private and secluded terrace that looks onto the courtyard and surrounding greenery.

The apartment comes with clean sheets and clean bath towels.

Other things to note
This place is ideal for those looking to get away from the city center and find an oasis of greenery. It’s quiet and peaceful here but there are also many activities (such as Art and Yoga classes as well as shops and an upcoming café) that invite and create a community. The location is best suited for those with their own transport or happy to walk around :)

We have two dogs but the guest area is fenced off from them.

There is no wireless Internet! However it is very cheap to buy a SIM card for your phone with data on it (no more than $5-10)!

My work: from home, teaching Yoga, art and meditation.
So, here is a bit about us. We live on a farm along with our dogs and cows and lots of squirrels. We have just adopted a beagle, Frida (Kahlo) We love traveling and have visited and lived all over the world and of course India, passionate about food, cooking and experimenting with different ingredients that we discover on our travels. I am into yoga, art, spirituality and sustainable living(not always in that order). I teach art and yoga here at the farm , and have a studio here called Gaia Bangalore. I love being in nature, observing and learning from her. Srikant is passionate about running and food, and whips up a fabulous meal in no time, throwing in whatever he can find in the fridge or the garden. He has to have a commemorative run, on all our birthdays, anniversaries and on most other days !He loves reading books, magazines, newspapers, in short anything . We have two kids that have flown the nest, and are global citizens. WE would love to have guests , that enjoy and appreciate being in nature and in a space like this. We stay on the property and are always here to help in planning your day, suggest where to shop or go sightseeing. We look forward to hosting through Airbnb, to meeting new people and to making your stay enjoyable.
