Ekaterini (Katerina) and I have been happily married for over twenty years, brought together as soul-mates in the second half of our lives. Katerina was born and raised in Athens, Greece and Daniel is a third generation American from immigrant grandparents (Norway and Sweden). Together we have four adult children and three grandchildren. Thankfully, all except our grandchildren are employed and starting families of their own.
We moved to Daniel's family summer home on Hood Canal in 2010 when he retired from Weyerhaeuser Company after 33 years. Katerina is a retired dental assistant of 30 years. Now we are both semi-retired and operate a small, family run oyster farm supplying fresh oysters to three local restaurants and a retail market.
We spend most of our time at home cooking, entertaining, playing games, gardening, walking & hiking, kayaking and visiting with our next door neighbor (Daniel's sister) and friends. We like streaming movies, reading, internet surfing and wine tasting.
We also love to travel, and have been to Greece and the Greek Islands many times to visit Kathy's family and friends. We've also traveled around Europe a bit, on a Viking River Cruise down the Danube, a Rick Steves tour through Italy and independent travel to Norway, the Balkans, Mexico and North America. We find travel to be a wonderful, life enriching experience where the connection to other people and cultures make us appreciate life more.
We are friendly, open, honest and kind people. As a guest, we are quiet, clean and respectful of the host's space and privacy. As a host, we are dedicated to providing guests with a great experience in a clean, comfortable, unique cabin.
Five things we can't live without:
1. Each other
2. Wine
3. Good friends
4. Good food
5. Good times

During your stay
We strive to always be at home when you check in so we can show you around the compound, orient you to the cabin and introduce you to my sister's friendly dog, Luna. We are generally around home when we have guests, however, if we have another commitment or just need to run errands, we can usually be reached by mobile phone at ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) and will make every effort to help with any of our guests' needs.
If it is the case that we are away for the time guests will be here, we will have a co-host take care of you and will notify you and the co-host prior to your arrival.
