We are open for Staycations and those looking for an independent post quarantine stay in the rainforest. Mains water, electricity and WIFI are on and pretty reliable although still vulnerable to bad weather.

The property is accessed via a flight of steps through the garden full of fruit trees

The hammock and hummingbirds await......

The space
Set in a clearing in the Rainforest, Pineapple Crossing is accessed down thirty steps from its neighbor Birdwatchers Rainforest Cottage. Made from local hardwood it is a sturdy construction with inside and outside living space and two bathrooms. Warm water showers and a well equipped kitchen with washing machine are available. As well as the attractive Master bedroom with its own balcony and access to the rainwater tub and wild garden, there is other double bed room with its own bathroom.

A young man lives on site and Bernadette is available to support and troubleshoot from our home in Roseau. We can arrange for guests to be led from the ferry or for a taxi from the airport. Rental vehicles can be delivered (recommended) and meals arranged from our neighbour Fiona.

Where you’ll be

Pont Casse, Saint George Parish, Dominica

The edge of the Morne Trois Piton World Heritage site is pristine rainforest. The Parrots fly noisily mid morning and mid afternoon. The Bamboo grows daily. The Night time disturbances are likely to be Agoutis and Manicou ransacking your garbage if you do not hang it up. It can be chilly and it does rain heavily in the Rainforest!

I am originally from the UK and double as the British Honorary Consul, a resource for tourists in trouble. My husband Harry is Dominican and is a fisherman although we lost the boat in the Hurricane . He is often the one to meet and greet and fix anything that goes wrong. He can also provide a taxi to Roseau and will appreciate a petrol donation! By profession I am a social worker and counsellor. We are Christians and are known in society as Sister Tina and Brother Harry. Harry has a pick up and often drives people who wish to be taken round the island especially to rougher areas and if they are used to driving on the other side of the road. He will also take guests to the diving or to Boiling Lake and pick them up afterwards. (He and his vehicle costs USD100 per day plus gas) We live in Munro Street in Goodwill and are conveniently located near to the Hospital and the Stadium.
