Unfortunately we weren't very happy with this property overall. It was a birthday trip and the few pics and reviews looked good so we booked it. Perhaps our expectations were too high for $80 per night on a Thurs/Fri night stay. Very cute from the outside...nice quiet neighborhood, close to main boulevard, with easy walk to restaurants and small store. Upon arrival, you enter front door and have an immediate set of steep stairs. Be aware if mobility is an issue. No room to maneuver between door entry and heading upstairs. Checkin was 3pm and we arrived a little after 4. Unfortunately, the hired cleaner hadn't been by since last guests checked out, so 3 big trash bags were literally piled on kitchen plus the trash left in the large kitchen can and the small can in bathroom. It was an awful smelly welcoming. I gathered it all up and my husband took it down to the garage. I also wiped the dirty sinks down. Our host called the cleaner and she arrived approx 1.5 - 2 hours after the fact. All she does is take trash out and sanitize the sinks anyways. You are required to do all other cleaning per lengthy detailed post on kitchen wall. So pay the $35 fee, plus do your own cleaning and that of the hired cleaner. Not good. Decor wise, odd distressed moulding everywhere just looked mismatched instead of adding anything, it just seemed a jumble of decor styles. Not critical to your stay of course but at $80 per night, it just seemed kind of messy overall. Walls were scuffed with dust bunnies and needed either paint or cleaning. In living room, there were wires and cords literally in jumbles up the wall and pooling on the floor beneath TV and living room non working lamp. Main overhead light in living room also didn't work, nor did the bedside lamp in bedroom, so no easy reading in bed. Frustrating lighting...why have it there if it doesn't work? Listing said cable TV, but it was really just connection to Netflix, so no Dodger playoff game for us! Internet connection was lost the next morning, but unplugging and plugging in again restored the connection. Kitchen was fine, small but seemed well stocked. Our only use was the tea kettle and coffee cups. They were stained and brown inside. I used some Dawn and the scrubby side of sponge and stains came right out. Cause of concern on how well others are cleaning before you or if the host does any kind of spot checking on these things. You are required to vacuum, mop and dust per detailed cleaning instructions posted in kitchen. Vacuum was loud and squealing when we used it.! I did write our host with this feedback but received no reply or offer of cleaning refund which would have been the right thing to do for our situation. We've not been big Airbnb users but hope our next experience is better...

Place was just as described and perfect for our needs. Really great value and cozy environment. We stayed for 3 nights and used it as a base to hike in the area. Kitchen is perfectly equipped. Recommendation: stop at the place to take stock of pantry items before heading to grocery store.

Was a nice little space for us to spend the weekend. We spent most of our time exploring around town but it had just the right amount of touches to feel like a real cabin experience. Particularly enjoyed the small book collection and the deck- it was nice to sit on the bench outside and enjoy coffee as the weather was still warm during the day. Thanks John!

It was exactly what it describes. Small, quaint, and quiet. It was clean and well managed. The only odd part was our check out was for 12 noon and the cleaning lady showed up at eleven saying we had to be out by 11am. Luckily we solved confusion. All else was well.

John's cabin was nice and cozy. It was a great location in a nice, quiet, safe neighborhood. The only thing different from this airbnb than the others we have stayed at in the past, is the fact that you have to bring all your own extras; such as sheets and towels, cooking oil, butter, laundry detergent, ect., but that was all stated in the listing and we didn't mind. I had read there were lighting issues, but all the lamps worked just fine and they provided enough light. The cabin it's self was clean. The private garage was awesome and the deck was great. I was pleasantly surprised that we did not share any walls with the nextdoor neighbors, only a garage. This place was perfect for our weekend. We would stay here again!
