This host seemed friendly at first, but then became rude and difficult, when he realised he wasn't getting what he wanted, i.e., to take me sightseeing for a steep price. The worst thing was when he was supposed to take me to the train station for a price we had agreed on and the…

Response from Tommy:
Bed and Breakfast is the name of the game. Anything extra to the guest is a bonus. My place goes for RM60 a night. On the first day itself, a pick up from the bus terminal, lunch and tea at a restaurant is already worth RM34, that I bore the cost. The 2 breakfast of nasi lemak and roti canai that I go out to buy is worth what??? And, the bunch of bananas, too. What about the free flow of all kinds of quality beverages? I provide quality towels and she demanded another one as she won't use the electric hair dryer in her room. And, having the cheek to complain that there's no hot water in the electric kettle!!! Give an inch and wanting a mile??? Taking my kindness as a weakness, eh? Offering me RM20 for a full day of guided tour using my car is a steep price?????????? Heck, that's not even enough for the petrol consumed. That itself warrants not needing for anymore negotiation as it's obvious that the guest have no idea what the rates are eventhough she's a retired Professor of Cross Cultural Management. So, I had to leave her to experience the cost, the next day. Seeing her taking a public taxi back to the bus terminal was my sweetest moment as it will cost a minimum RM24 for that 1-way journey of 8km. The largest shopping complex, AEON KINTA SHOPPING MALL and TESCO, not to mention the happening pubs, lounge, restaurants and entertainment centre, is 500 metres from my house, in Ipoh Garden. Just because the railway station and the old part of Ipoh is 5km away, my house too far from town??? Not only she doesn't have a sense of cost, she also doesn't have any inkling of distance. She should pay 10x the cost to stay in the 5-star Casuarina Hotel that's 14km to the railway station. Even in Casuarina, they will NOT provide city bus guide as there's none as the routes are constantly being changed. I am required to to inquire those routes? Heck, I won't do it, even if she's the Queen of England! For a price, I would but that again is a risky thing as it's constantly changing and may be accused for providing false info. As my listing on Air BnB is another of my social experiment, Angela makes a perfect case study. Not only she's demanding 5-star FREE service for RM60 per nights' stay, she also threatened to write a nasty review so that I will lose my BnB business. She may get away with other places who depend on BbB for a living, but, not me! Yes, she did write a bad review but I know myself by being into charity works and a social activist. You can (Hidden by Airbnb) me to find out. I only counter her review for all to judge. If you want to host her, be aware of her demands and expectations. I got a short report on my (Hidden by Airbnb) page for all to see, in the link below:- (Website hidden by Airbnb)
