Other things to note
Those who stay in Fontesettimena and beyond have the opportunity to take advantage of
- Guided tours of the apiary, where the laborious and incredible world of bees will be explained. In our educational house called "L'apiario" it is possible to follow a beekeeping lesson, observe the bees through a window in total safety, immersed in a breathtaking view in contact with nature, to follow the honey extraction phase, up to the jarring, labeling, and of course tasting of the various types of honey.
- Guided tours of the alabaster quarry: on the farm you can find the only active quarry in Volterra, known as the "Cipollone".
The genesis and morphology of alabaster will be explained, as well as all the processing phases: from extraction from the ground, to the selection of the blocks, up to the creation of the artistic objects that are created with the lathe, in our small artisan workshop.
-Nature walks throughout the farm to discover the flowers, plants and animals that populate it, almost always accompanied by the faithful dog of the Biagio Family, a splendid Golden Retriever.
The property offers some typical products of the Tuscan countryside of its own production, such as the exceptional olive oil produced in our olive grove: the olive harvest in October is still carried out manually as in the past, taking care of every detail until bottling.
You can find various types of honey, produced by bees in 80 hives, which feed on various species of flowers in the surrounding countryside.
Please note that during the Easter/August 15 period, a minimum stay of 4 nights is required

Hi, my name is Sandra and I'm 55 years old, I'm Sardinian, I arrived about 30 years ago in Tuscany for a vacation and here I met the man of my life and I married him and now Gestisco Fontesettimena since 2005 with my husband and our two children. Our 40-hectare farm, we grow wheat, and we produce an excellent extra virgin olive oil. We are beekeepers and produce different types of honey, much appreciated in our area. I decided to leave my very boring job as an employee. My desire was to meet new and interesting people from all over the world, and I thank God because my dream came true, and I was lucky enough to meet so many beautiful people. According to guests, the best thing about our farm is the warm family welcome, an oasis of tranquility in Tuscany in silence away from the confusion. i have been enrolled on Air b&b for more than 3 years and I hope my dream continues Come to Find Us !
