What better way to experience historic Newburyport than to stay in a colonial house built in 1736 - that's 281 years old! This property is also within walking distance to the downtown shops, musuems & to several excellent restaurants. The beach, fishing and boating are only 2-3 miles away. Come visit and learn about this historical and scenic seaport.
The bedroom is very quaint & cozy with lovely wide-pine floors and a fireplace that does not work but looks nice. The bedroom door and closet doors are old latch doors, as old as the house! The bathroom is old too! It has a cottage feel to it with a bead board and wainscoting. It also has a deep tub with a shower, so you will need to step in and out of the tub when showering. With the tub so deep, guests can also take a relaxing bath too! The room also comes with a small refrigerator and has an air condition for those that need it for during summer months. The unit is also on the 2nd floor so you will need to climb a set of stairs, approximately 20 steps.
Guests also have private access to a formal living room on the 1st floor. The room is has a lot of period features - it has a fireplace (non working), wide pine floors and a built in shelves and minister's cabinet.
Guests are allowed to use the living room on the 1st floor. We are renovating the other rooms so all other rooms are closed to guests.
Interaction with guests
Host is available on site for questions. Emails and texted messages are also welcomed.
Other things to note
Dog and cat live in the house when there are no guests, so anyone with pet allergies should probably not select this property. The dog & cat will not be on site when there are guests.
There is off-street parking.
