Enjoy this perfectly located peaceful cabin surrounded by 3 acres of woods and wildlife, with an awesome view of Mt. Princeton and Buffalo Peaks! This log home is 1600 sf, with an addition locked off for the owners' residence, each with private entrances and driveways. Only 5 minutes from town and the Arkansas River, and 15 minutes from local hot springs, and nearby to countless fishing & 4-wheeling experiences.

Guest access

You are welcome to enjoy the house and 3-acre yard; but please remember to respect the privacy of the manager's quarters and deck which are at the west end of the house.

Interaction with guests

This has been our home for over 28 years and we still love it. Now we are traveling a lot, so we are sharing our house with you. When we are there in our locked off area, we are happy to help you with what you need as far as advice, recommendations, whatever makes you comfortable; so please feel free to contact us.

Other things to note

For the past 15 years, I have worked as a BnB manager for several local and out-of-state BnB's. The owners of the BnB's have been pleased with my efforts and can attest to my professionalism and desire to provide clean, comfy, pleasant accomodations. That is why, at my own home, I can assure you that the bedding, decor, and household have been put together in consideration of you. I hope you'll be happy, and I welcome you and your comments - both about things you liked and things you'd like to have improved.
You can imagine how much work it is to clean the house and yard to prepare for the next guests coming, usually the same day you depart, so please put things back where you found them, like the furniture and clean dishes. It helps immensely if you will place the sheets and used towels beside the wash machine, and take out your trash to the garbage bin. Thank you!

- This is a smoke-free facility. Smoking of any substance indoors will result in an extra cleaning fee and the loss of your damage deposit. If you must smoke, we have a firepit in the front yard for you to sit by. :)

Speaking of the firepit, please feel welcome to use it to roast hotdogs, marshmallows, etc., or just relax by a cozy fire in the evening. It is VERY important that when you are finished with the fire, that you douse it with water and make sure all coals are completely out. One nice gust of wind can bring the fire back to life, and cause a forest fire! We have an outdoor spigget with a coal bucket for you to fill with water to quench the firepit. One important thing for you to know is whether there are fire bans in the area; so before you start a camp fire, be sure to check with the area Chamber of Commerce, forest service, or (URL HIDDEN)

- Well behaved, potty trained dogs are welcome. Please do not leave your dog unattended at anytime, whether inside or outside.

- You can imagine how much work is involved with getting the whole house and yard back in order and cleaned, especially if other guests are arriving the same day you leave! So, for checking out, please put things back where you found them: furniture, clean dishes, flashlights, reset clocks. It helps us immensely if you would please take sheets & pillow cases to the washer, as well as the towels you've used, and put a load of white only towels in to wash. Also, please bag up your trash and put the regular garbage in the trash bin outside, and the recycling in the bag on the back porch by the bathroom.

- Thank you so much for choosing to stay at our Cozy Log Home Hideaway!

Great house close to town, the hot springs, and incredible views! It was perfect for our group of friends with space for everyone to hang out together and have our own bedrooms as well.

Don't hesitate to book this place- Kim's attentiveness to seeing that I was setup well for our family trip was well beyond my expectation. The place sets in view of the Collegiate Peaks, with a private feel due to its location just outside the town of Beuna Vista and the way it sets back in the woody landscape of the area. But barely a 10min drive from the Arkansas river and downtown BV. It's also only 30 min drive from that cute town of Salida. Also we had deer in the front yard in the morning. The inside is cute with its log cabin feel for coziness for sure.:) Enjoy guys!

Kim's home is well set up to accommodate a large group. My family enjoyed the large dinning room table which was a perfect place for family meals and for playing games. The kitchen was well stocked with everything one might need. The deck is a lovely place to sit and enjoy the view of the mountains. Kim was very good at communicating with us and stopped by to be sure we had everything we needed.

A great option to a hotel stay in Buena Vista! Kim is an excellent host and made every effort to accommodate our group. The fire pit was well stocked with wood and the property is large and private. I've been staying at the Cottonwood Hot Springs for years but was full on this recent fall foliage weekend, this was one of the last available properties. It was one of the nicer airbnb stays I've had over the past couple of years. You will not be disappointed!

Kim's cabin was a great place for my friends and me to relax before hiking Mt Elbert. The layout of the cabin and all of the provided kitchen equipment helped us relax and recharge. I would gladly stay here again.
