Perlo do Mar is an exquisite private villa boasting relaxed luxury with direct access to the tranquil beaches of Northern Vilanculos. Our rate includes 5-star meals and all drinks, as well as a complimentary sunset cruise.

Hosting your stay at the lodge is a full time lodge manager who will collect you from the airport and a chef who will create tantalizing meals of your choice from the local produce.

The space
Our private Villa consists of nine beautifully decorated suite with en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning and mosquito nets, and is fully serviced by a team of friendly staff. The lodge can sleep 18 people at an additional cost and it is perfect for the whole family.

Alberto, our lodge manager will collect you from the Vilanculos airport. On arrival, the house staff and Chef will meet and greet you, leading you through our tropical garden. A cool welcome drink can be taken at the garden facing veranda lounge, which is also a favorite meeting place in the evenings, especially when Chef Sarmento has the pizza oven blazing for an evening around the pizza bar.

There is a casual lounge in this area as an option from the front sea facing lounge if the sea breeze is too strong in the evenings.
The open plan living and dining area with large fold away doors on all sides, enables views of the majestic coastline from most of the living spaces.

Other than the pizza bar lounge we have a central TV lounge, and an open air bar lounge just off the kitchen. The relaxing atmosphere of the spacious bar lounge beckons to light the fire for a traditional braai or barbeque and to indulge in outdoor living from where you can take in breath-taking vistas and enjoy memorable sunrises if you are an early riser.

The hub of Perlo do Mar is the pool and expansive deck area with old weathered thorn trees and palms, overhanging the deck, offering some much needed shade in the heat of summer. At night Chef Sarmento will set your table if you wish, under the fairy lit tree where he will prepare and serve a delectable array of locally available dishes if you are on a full board basis. Our 18 seater dining room is of course an option for meals should the weather not play along with your plans.

A few steps down our decked walkway to the beach, one walks through
the beach lounge and Lapa area which are one of a kind. You could not get closer to the water’s edge if you tried. It is easy to linger here all day, cuddled up in a hammock, watching the changing light on the water until the sun settles behind the lodge and the colors of the ocean turn red.

Vilanculos is well-known for all that the deep blue has to offer as it is a fisherman's paradise. Fishing trips and snorkeling trips can be organized by our boat managers, Paulino and Zaque. The local markets are perfect to learn about the Mozambican culture and maybe purchase some locally made gifts to take back to your friends. Other activities that Vilanculos has to offer which can be arranged by our staff include; Island hopping, Sunset cruises, Jet skiing, Sailing, Kayaking, Horse riding and Helicopter trips.
