This seasonal space is available April to November. It has heat but no running water in the winter. In the winter, this space is available for use - playing pool and hanging out - when you reserve our "On the Lake" listing. Check it out!
Check in/out times are flexible. We have it set at check in between 5-10pm and check out at noon. We understand folks want to enjoy our slice of heaven so early check-in or late check-out can be arranged depending on schedule and availability. We do our best to accommodate!
Interaction with guests
You can have 100% privacy in your space and you have a private entrance. We really enjoy meeting people from all over the world. So, if you want a little interaction with us and we're around, we'd love to meet and enjoy a coffee or glass of wine with you. You make the call!
Other things to note
In the loft of "The Shed", we have a very nice, queen sized airbed. A second is available upon request. It is not actually a bedroom but rather the loft. Semi-private to common space of main level in that it's upstairs but there is not a separate door for the bedroom space.
On the main level is a bathroom, mini-fridge, coffee pot, toaster, pool table and wood burning fireplace.
There is a small, college dorm type refrigerator. There is no kitchen but there is access to our gas grill.
The Shed overlooks the lake. There is a meandering trails down to the lake with some Adirondack chairs about 1/2 way down - perfect for a rest stop or viewing the lake and sunset! Some think its a workout to go down/up. We're don't think much about it ourselves. If you are concerned about your ability to get down to the lake, please inquire so we can be sure you have an accurate expectation before you book.
We stay at a lot of AirBNBs around the world. We aim to leave the space tidy and respect the property. We trust you feel and will do the same!
Read all the description and info so your expectations are consistent with what we offer. We strive to provide 5 Star service. We go above and beyond to make the trip special for you. We have found that when someone ranks us less than a 5 Star it is because of something they expected that is different than what we've defined in our listing.
Please keep noise low. We have a great space and want it to remain available for guests well into the future. We have great neighbors and want to respect them as well. We would hate to get complaints of noise or other behaviors that could result in complications in hosting in the future.
If you encounter a neighbor on the lake or elsewhere, please tell them you are visiting Debbie and Austin. Please DO NOT say you are with AirBNB. Unfortunately, not everyone is as cool and keen on AirBNB as we are. We live on a private lake of just 30 homes. Its a great neighborhood watch community. So if a neighbor sees someone unknown, they may ask who you are or how you got on the lake. A kind response of "we're visiting Austin and Debbie" will comfort the neighbor asking. Thank you.
Smoking of cigarettes in designated areas only. No smoking inside the home. No drugs allowed.
If you're intending to have guests over during your stay, we will need to know this in advance and reserve the right to deny a request for guests beyond the number and specific people on your account. There is a $25 fee per additional guest per overnight stay.
Please notify us in advance, even if last minute, if you have to change the number of your party. Our space can accommodate up to 4 but there is a charge per guest over 2. This is stated in our listing. If there is room, we will be happy to adjust the booking through the normal provided channels on the website. But, if you arrive here with unregistered guests, we will immediately & very regretfully turn you away with no refund in accordance with Airbnb protocol.
Please do not use someone else's Airbnb profile to book a stay with us. If the person arriving is not the person in the profile that booked a stay, we will immediately & very regretfully turn you away with no refund in accordance with AirBNB protocol.

My husband and I love to travel and meet new people on our adventures. We have stayed at many AIRBNB spots around the world. One day it hit us that we should host! So here we are. We have a lovely spot on a private lake surrounded by park land yet just minutes away from fine dining and conveniences.
We love to bike, hike, explore, drink Chardonnay (me) and craft beers from independent breweries (him). We enjoy chef-driven, farm-to-table restaurants, sampling different kinds of honey and having family over for Sunday brunch. We enjoy documentaries and he endures RomCom's with me! We enjoy all types of music and he loves to read about anything and everything. I'd rather go to the gym, go for a walk or garden than read but I love it when he shares all he's reading about and learning with me!
Our favorite AirBNBs so far are "Gypsy House" in the Blue Mountain National Forest area in Australia for outside the US and "Emu Ranch in Town" in Atlanta for within the US! Check them out. Sometimes we love our privacy but most of the time we hope to meet and engage with our guests here and the hosts when we travel. It is just so interesting to meet people from different places with different experiences than ourselves. So, if you stay with us, feel free to reach out to us and we'll make time to chill on the patio over a glass of wine or beer with you. If we stay with you, let us know if you're open to conversation over a bottle of wine! We'll get the wine!
