Southgate is located on the top of the cliffs leading to the renowned "Three Cliffs Bay" (just a fifteen minute walk). With several places to eat out, golf club, hairdressers and a shop that sells all the essentials you needn't drive any further! Number 27 Heatherslade Road is tucked away in a quiet road just behind the cliffs.

The space

A family friendly home from home. Our games room has a table football that everyone will enjoy. We have a selection of games and puzzles and lots of reading material. In the lounge there is a TV with freeview, a DVD player with selection of DVD's. The kitchen\diner is large enough for everyone to fit in with patio doors opening onto the mainly grassed, fenced garden. As there is a downstairs bedroom and bathroom the house is suitable for anyone not able to sleep upstairs.
Number 27 is a dog friendly house but we do ask that you keep your dog in the kitchen area. We have provided a gate on the kitchen door for this purpose. This helps us keep the cleaning fee to a minimum and is fair for guests who do not have dogs. Thanking you in advance.

Guest access

There is room on the drive for 3 cars (or 4 smaller ones). Please park off the road as residents on the opposite side tend to use the road for parking as they have small drives.

We do have Wheel chair access as the house is on the level. The front door has a lip/step at bottom but apart from that the downstairs bedroom and bathroom and living areas are accessible. There same lip/step is on the patio doors leading to the garden.

Interaction with guests

The house is looked after by my neighbours in the adjoining house (no. 25). They have lived in Southgate for a very long time and are very knowledgeable about the local area. They will be happy to answer any questions during your stay.

Other things to note

We provide all bed linen, bath towels and a hand towel in each bathroom. There are 2 tea towels in the kitchen and a welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk and welsh cakes. We have lots of buckets, spades, balls and beach mat in the garden chest. Please make use of them and make sure they are put back at the end of your holiday. Thank you.

We don't expect you to do any cleaning at the end of your stay but please leave the house tidy so that our cleaner has time to clean and prepare for the next guests.

This is a no smoking house. Thank you

This house is very well appointed and in a lovely location for walking and visiting the Gower. There is lots of room in the house and garden . We had two great meals at the local restaurant above the village shop. This restaurant has only recently opened and is excellent serving locally supplied produce. The cafe below is also great and very busy.

Trudie is a fantastic host and the house is perfect for anyone who loves the Gower. Comfortable in every way. Perfect for family holidays. The Southgate shop is a few hundred metres away brilliant. You can be on a fabulous clifftop walk to 3 Cliffs Bay or the other direction within minutes. Great for travel connections of all sorts. Trudie is helpful and hospitable at every stage and responds quickly to messages. Highly recommended!

So glad u all had a lovely time, come back and visit soon. I have a (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) page now where I try and put up all the activities going on in the area - from organised walks to ghost stories at Gower heritage centre. @number27

Great location for walking, beaches, rock pools etc. Nice little shop and café within easy walking distance. Swansea is best place for most supplies. (supermarkets would deliver). On site parking is great. We had 3 cars. Quite tight turning to get in the gate though, as people park opposite. Watch out for cows on the street! (Well, everywhere really!).

We had a family get together at Trudie's house with our son and young family visiting fom New Zealand. The house is very child friendly with a safe enclosed garden and plenty of toys and games. There is a great coffee shop and handy convenience store 5 mins walk away and a lovely 20 min walk to the fantastic beaches at Three Cliffs bay. All in all a great place for a relaxing holiday.

We stayed at Trudie's place for a long weekend for my mums 60th which we hosted at the nearby Pennard gold club for the wider family in Swansea. It was perfect. It was within walking distance to the golf club and also gave us easy access to the beautiful gower coastline for family walks and coffee and cake at the nearby cafe. The house had 4 good sized bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The travel cot, highchair and stair gates were all good quality and in good working order for our little boy (15months). We felt he was always safe. He also loved the railway track set. The garden and garden furniture were perfect for the sunny, yes sunny Welsh weather. We enjoyed a few glasses of wine in the sunshine! Trudie was super helpful in the run up and gave me confidence the weekend would good fun. I would happily recommend the house house to others.
