The house is in a perfect position overlooking a picturesque UNESCO World Heritage site on a beautiful south facing sandy beach. Ideal for buckets and spades and a favourite destination for wind and kite surfers.

The space

Pack buckets and spades, this has to be as close as you can get to the sea!
A recently renovated 4 bed, 2 bathroom house with stunning views positioned right by the beach on the beautiful unspoilt coast near St Vaast La Hougue in Normandy.

The house is in an exceptional position down a fuscia-lined driveway and is situated on one of the few south facing beaches in Normandy with private access from the garden directly onto the beach, only steps away. There are stunning panoramic views from the house across the bay to St Vaast and the historic Isle de Tatihou. The whole house has been renovated to a very high specification and retains many original features such as the wooden spiral staircase, stone roof and floors. The interior is fashioned in a comfortable, relaxed style with towels and linen supplied and is heated with radiators and a log burner during the winter months. All bedrooms and the living area have views of the sea and the garden has tables and seating for alfresco dining and relaxing. The living room, kitchen and downstairs bedroom all have french windows leading to the garden. It was designed to cope with the practicalities of living by the sea so timber decking leads to the rear of the house, a hosepipe and heated outside shower by the back door.

You will have sole occupancy with access to the entire house including south facing pergola, terrace and lawned garden which leads directly to the causeway and beach.
Private parking for 3 cars.

This region is renowned for its gastronomy and oysters in particular but also has great historic significance with WWII Landing Beaches, museums and fortifications nearby. Many sporting activities, from riding to tennis and golf, are available nearby but with its charming fishing ports and picturesque scenery the location remains essentially unspoiled.

Brittany Ferries run year round to Cherbourg (30mins drive away) and Caen (1hr 30mins). Train connections run to Valognes/Cherbourg and buses to St Vaast la Hougue but the best way to enjoy the region is with a car, hiring one from an airport (Paris/Rennes/Caen/Deauville) if flying in.
Cycling is very popular with Cherbourg a tranquil and stunningly picturesque 30km ride away.

There are numerous good local restaurants and bars where families are welcome and the Saturday market has a mouth watering selection of fresh produce from which to choose. A butcher's, bakers and supermarket are all 5 or 10 minutes away, along with the usual amenities. Children and adults alike will enjoy a ride to the island on the amphibious craft or may like climbing to the top of the lighthouse at Gatteville. Indoor and outdoor tennis courts can be found in St Vaast and there's an indoor swimming pool at Tourlaville just outside Cherbourg. Kayaks, catamarans and wind surfers can all be hired nearby and there are many well marked scenic footpaths for walkers. Those who enjoy painting, photography or bird watching will naturally be drawn to the beautiful landscapes and seascapes which abound and will drink in the stunning with natural surroundings. Many museums, churches and fortifications also await with sites such as Mont St Michel and Bayeaux available as day trips, so there's something for everyone.

We spent some days for year end at Nicola's home and had a great time. The house and location are awesome : the house is very well furnished and decorated with charm. But the MUST is that you are just in front of the sea while having breaking, when reading in the sofa or playing cards with the kids .... Reville is also close to two very nice villages (Barfleur and St Vaast) and a very good starting point to discover all the Cotentin (Cap de la Hague but also Granville ...). I am now in love with the Cotentin and also Nicola's house (i hope to come back !). A big thank also to Nicola for all the explanations she gave to make the best of our stay.

A beautifully designed, delightfully decorated and outfitted, very comfortable house with tons of charm. We loved the peace and quiet and having the beach right at our doorstep. Having bikes and boots there was very thoughtful. The nearby village, St. Vaast la Hougue was charming, don't miss Maison Gosselin and the butcher Villeneuve across the street. The proximity to the famous WWII beaches, villages, and musea made for great day trips. Nicola was very easy to communicate with, she responded quickly. Hope we'll have an opportunity to come back, thank you!
