Charming flat on the second floor of a traditional building from 1702. 5 minutes walk from the railway station, in the middle of village.

Our village Reckingen is located in the east end of Wallis/Valais. This is a very authentic area of Switzerland with villages with traditional timber buildings from the 17-1800's. Our house if from 1702 and is situated in the old village centre, close to bakery, butchers shop, cheese makery and grocery store.
Wonderful for hiking, skiing or just relaxing

The space

A nice top flat in a traditional house from 1702 (with a scandinavian touch to the interior) in the charming village of Reckingen, Switzerland (kanton Wallis).

The flat has one bedroom with a double bed and a children's cot. In addition to this there is a larger living, dining, kitchen area with all necessary equipment. The bathroom is tiny, shower and toilet, with the sink situated in the hallway. Simple standard, but functional. Design from the 1960´s but everything works.

Hosts can be contacted in English, German, and of course Norwegian.

Guest access

The entire flat is at your disposal. Access to washing machine in the basement. Please let us know if you plan to use this, and I will have my father in law show you how it works (or I will do my best per airbnb message)

Parking place in front of house (under the apple tree). Free internet access, television and parking possibilities in the front of the house.

Other things to note

We are located in Bergen/Norway, but are easy to reach by email or phone. My parents in law are in the village and will be at hand with what you might need for your stay.

Beautiful loft apartment in a typical, beautiful, small Swiss village. Bakery around the corner, restaurant opposite and amazing Alpine walks from the doorstep. We loved this place and would definitely go back. The drive to the accommodation through the Furka Pass was one of the most spectacular I have ever done in my life. If you want to experience the Alps (we went in summer) do this drive! It's worth knowing that the loft apartment is up two flights of stairs, so you wouldn't want to make too many trips up the stairs! But this was exactly as described, so no complaints. We actually booked for 3 adults, and only seemed to have bedding for 2 - just check when booking as I'm sure this was an oversight and the host would be sure to provide. Anna was really communicative, and was in regular contact about everything. I would highly recommend staying in this incredible place, and want to thank her for a fabulous stay. I just wish we could have stayed longer!

Anna's chalet was perfect for our family (me, my husband, our 2-year-old son and our dog) while we were passing through Switzerland. It's in a lovely little village and centrally located among old and quaint houses. The Volg grocery store is a few minutes' walk (and open great hours, like others have mentioned on here). Anna was a great communicator, even though she was in Norway while we were visiting. We had a very small issue with getting the heater to work and within 10 minutes her father-in-law (who lives in the village) had it up and running for us. We loved the toys Anna had for her daughter and the cozy Scandinavian vibe for relaxing on a couple quiet mountain evenings. We had a decent dinner at Restaurant Joopi, right across the street. If you're passing through or anywhere near here, this place is very highly recommended. Thanks, Anna!

Situated in picturesque place Anna’s place is a delight. The place is a perfect setting to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of Swiss Alps. Anna made us feel very welcome and every essential was catered for. The house is cozy and clean and has everything you need. Mountain’s view from the windows is impressible. There are not enough stars to give Anna’s place. The location is heavenly; the apartment is everything one would wish for in a holiday around. The kitchen was well equipped with all we needed as we catered for ourselves. We made use of the local shop and there was a Coop supermarket 15 minutes’ drive away. The bathroom was small but the shower was good came in handy after our long walks. The bed was very clean and comfortable – my Mrs asked me to make sure I give very good review for that . It was quite warm when we visited but the apartment was super cool and airy. We would love to stay at Anna's again, she was the perfect host. We highly recommend a stay and we cannot wait to visit again.

What a wonderful place! Beautiful both inside the house and the nature around. I would definitely come back. Anna was easy to communicate with and we had a great stay at her place. Would recommend the UNESCO Höhenweg at the top of the gondola in Fiesch. Wonderful views and cool hiking!

I live in Bergen/Norway with my family, but we spend as much time as possible in my husbands hometown Reckingen in Switzerland where the flat is located. This is a lovely spot. The village is very authetic with old timber houses and small farms, and also situated in the midst of a most spectacular alpine landscape.
Since we live in Norway we are not always around, but are always avalable on internet or phone. My parents in law are always around and will be of assistance when needed. And when we are around we live on the top floor of the house and then we always like to stop by to say hi to our guests.
