House holiday rentals in Phokeng

Louis was a wonderful host, met us as soon as we arrived, showed us around, recommended places to go. The gardens were beautiful. It was a wonderful place to rest and recharge. We loved his dogs Lady, Luna and Luka. Highly recommended to stay at Steenkoppies Estate. We wish we could have stayed longer.

Well appointed spacious chalet with everything you need. Beds are really comfortable. Location is amazing and totally unspoilt. Really great hikes in the mountain gorge area. (Needs permit beforehand from Mountain Club) Clean river with drinkable water Also large clean swimming pool in the resort. All in all a really peaceful place to stay where your soul gets plenty of time to recharge.

We had an amazing longweekend at Athule. Modern yet cozy. Check in and communucation was a breeze and the hosts were very attentive.

Beautiful rustic vibes

The location is stunning and serene, and the chalet was impeccably beautiful and tidy. We're incredibly grateful to Anita for ensuring our stay was fantastic.

A beautiful home. Karen was very friendly. She had even put on the underfloor heating in anticipation for our visit. The house was clean and well stocked kitchen. We will definitely be back.

The venue is great. Often when booking for a large group, you find that while there are enough beds to cater for 10+ people, amenities such as the kitchen are unable to handle that many. Idwala, on the other hand, has a massive kitchen plus many braai areas plus a lot of dining seating, which made our stay all the more comfortable.

Linda was very helpfull with accomodating us and our dogs. She checked in daily to ensure we were fine and made sure we were as comfortable as possible. Can definitly recommend them for a relaxing family stay.

The beauty of this place far exceeds what you see in the photographs. It's magnificent! The gardens, the pool, the natural beauty of the surrounding countryside. We loved our weekend here and Louis is a fabulous host - friendly, warm, responsive and helpful. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely time at Sigrid's place. We did struggle a bit to find it (in the dark), and we were warned about arriving after dark, but still felt that there were some key turns where signage could've been helpful. Apart from that, it is a great place to stay, spacious, neat, clean, and private, in a beautiful natural setting. The fireplace outside is also great. We will go back whenever there is another opportunity.

Lourentia is the best host I’ve ever had for a bnb stay. And Suburbia is the best bnb overall I’ve stayed in in South Africa. I highly recommend the place. Tremendous service and communication. 20 out of 10

We had an unforgettable stay at this venue — I’d happily do it all over again. The value for money was outstanding, and Stacey, Melody and her team were absolutely wonderful: warm, welcoming, and always one step ahead of our needs. For that weekend, it felt like home — as if I was hosting from my own place. Welcoming such a large group never felt this effortless, and my guests were genuinely impressed. Many said it felt like they’d just stepped into a better, more joyful version of life. One small suggestion: it would be fantastic if the location pin led guests directly to the house, as some began wondering if they were lost on the long drive from the gate and they would drive back. Adding a note in the directions about the board or sign at the gate would also help make arrivals smoother.

We were in awe the entire weekend...this place is beyond beautiful...words honestly fail me. It is private, peaceful and calling it beautiful is an understatement. My parter and I had the house to ourselves, the rain added to the beauty of the surroundings and watching the views of the mountains in the horizon was better than watching tv on any day. Word of advise though, buy your groceries before checking-in ...we couldn't find a grocery stores near by.but there are plenty restaurants around. Another thing this amazing place is set on a steep hill(again...the views are to die for), you won't want to keep driving up and down for small supplies...So maybe stop at Cradlestone mall to buy your supplies and prepare to enjoy your stay at this magnificent place.
