Amazing hosts! Patricia speaks English and even though her dad does not, he went out of his way to connect through many kind acts. He would bring baked goodies every morning and several times drove us places, including back from the airport when we returned our car. They also left us lots of food, including milk, eggs from their hens, produce from their garden, water, wine, beer, cookies, cheese, prosciutto etc. Before buying groceries, I would check in to see what they have stocked you with. A few things to note: the 2nd bathroom is only a half bathroom with toilet, no shower; the place is compact, particularly for 3 people, and the second room does not have a window; the air conditioning is only in the living room, which might matter in summer (but it’s a stone house so keeps relatively cool). Lastly, the place is 7 mins walk to the metro and a further 15 mins to the historic centre. Patricia gave us 3 metro cards, to be refilled. Tip: it’s hilly;use bus to go from river to metro

I can’t thank Manu enough for her friendliness, hospitality and kindness. She is one of the nicest hosts I have been fortunate to meet. She helped us throughout our stay and was always available for advice and support. The accommodation itself is wonderfully spacious, secure and surrounded by beautiful gardens. It was a good base to explore Porto and surrounding areas, I would highly recommend. Many thanks 😊.

My friend and I spent 10 days in this beautiful apartment – looking for peace and seclusion, and that's exactly what we found here. The location is perfect if you want to escape the hustle and bustle. Especially the private pool with the breathtaking view over the Douro river was an absolute highlight! The apartment itself is small, but very cozy and equipped with everything you need. The kitchen is surprisingly well equipped - ideal if you like to cook yourself. The bathroom is quite small and has only one sliding door, which may take some getting used to, but was not a problem for us. The immediate surroundings are very quiet, which we enjoyed very much. The nearest large supermarket is about 5 km away - so easily accessible by car. The drive to the house was straightforward, even if the roads are a bit narrow and hilly - typical of the region. Overall, a great accommodation for those who want peace and nature

Jorge is a really nice host ! The house was beautiful, perfectly equipped and really well located in the Douro valley. I spent my birthday at Dulce's house - it was truly a beautiful experience. Lovely countryside, beautiful weather, and Dulce's house was perfect for myself and 5 friends. There are lots of lovely walks nearby and restaurants about 30 minutes drive away. She also left us fresh bread and blueberries. A beautiful escape into nature, would highly recommend!

The house is an old property full of charm, the pool area is very friendly and well thought out. Very pleasant stay for 13 people

We spent a few days with the handballteam in porto and we had enough space for all of us. the appartement had everything we needed and the communication with the owner was easy, fast and very helpfull. we can only recommend.

From now on, thank you for the sympathy and the way we were received. The air conditioning worked very well on the cold nights we spent there. All very easy and practical for those looking to eat at home. A Good Years for everyone. Best regards Paulo Ferreira

We stayed for four days at the residence of fransisco with a group of five young males. In advance of our arrival the contact with both fransisco and his wife went so smooth, they almost responded immediately. When we arrived at the residence we got an more than warm welcome, we were greeted by fransisco and his wife who gave us a tour and told us everything we wanted to know about the house and garden. Our stay was perfect, the pool was amazing and the temperature of the water was good, we played a lot of soccer in the garden or on the football pitch which could get a little warm when barefoot. Had a small inconvenience but we could solve this with the host almost immediately. In conclusion we had an excellent stay and loved the residence and would definitely recommend fransisco as a host and the residence as well!

Very large house with everything you need. There were 14 of us and we occupied 7 rooms, each with a bathroom. The refrigerator failed and Tiago replaced it the same day. Perfect place to visit the Douro and the surrounding cities but a little far from Porto. Access to the house is via the back street.

Good stay, it’s two houses connected into one villa. There are multiple storeys but for a big group it was ideal. Also walkable distance to Porto train station!

Ideally located for discovering northern Portugal. A very nice house well equipped both indoors and out. Abel is a very friendly host and full of good advice.

A great place for a big family looking for peaceful surroundings and beautiful scenery. On rainy days the the ground floor with all the facilities were a great asset for the younger generation

We are very happy with the accommodation! From the warm welcome to the attention to detail, everything contributed to a comfortable and peaceful stay. Had a great time in Marie’s place. She welcomed us really well sharing local places we could go to to shop or eat, and recommendation for Porto. Very easy to check in and flexible which was great. The house is very big with all amenities, and a very nice area by the swimming pool. Thanks again !

Renovated in 2015, the house has three bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms. It was a great place to stay for a week to view Porto and surroundings. Reception was extremely friendly, very warm. The house features a beautiful terrace, a (unheated) infinity pool with beautiful views over the valley and Duoro and features a (clean!) Weber BBQ. Lots of privacy to enjoy with your company outside. 15-20 Mbps internet sufficient to prepare you digitally for a day trip. Despite the fact that the fire alarm system was not completely stable, the owner has done everything possible to improve this during our stay. For a stay just outside Porto with peace and space, this is a great location.

We enjoyed this cottage here. Garden has plenty of sun and shade spots. Nice pool to cool off in. Highly recommended. Easy by train to Porto from surrounding stations. Also after visiting stadium FC Porto by metro to downtown. Absolutely recommended.

Beautiful view. Bring groceries so you can stay at house and enjoy the view and pool. Take your time driving the roads. All roads have amazing views and lush surroundings.

From start to finish the experience was amazing, photos were exactly how the Airbnb was and location was perfect, nice and quiet and completely private! I would highly recommend and hopefully will be back in the future!!

amazing - just absolutely stunning. the house is homely and spotlessly clean. the land its on is second to none, fruit trees everywhere; kiwis, limes, oranges, apples. the host was super responsive and helpful. big supermarkets 15 mins away, easy access to porto. a wonderful stay and an amazing trip. obrigada!
